Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus in 2017?

TaliDiNozzo · 27/12/2016 11:31

Just that really. I promise myself every year that I'm going to do it then I'm sat here every fucking year still not having done it.

I think I probably need to lose around 150lbs tbh but I thought it might be helpful to have a 100lbs plus thread for anyone in a similar boat to me.

How are you planning on doing it? I am restarting Weight Watchers (at home on the app), clean-ish eating and setting myself a daily step goal. Am also moving house in January/February which helps (in my mind) with the fresh start ethos.

Well had a good first day, well within calories and went to Aqua aerobics tonight which was really good fun.

80sbabyz · 18/04/2017 23:36

Hiya another one joining here. I have 100 lbs to lose and because i suffer from PCOS i look about 5 stone heavier than i actually weight (majority of weight is around my belly/midsection and bust).

Name: 80s baby
Age: 33
Current weight 224lbs/16st
To lose: 100lbs

I've joined a gym and plan to start tomorrow along with making healthy lifestyle choices meal wise.

MirabelleTree · 19/04/2017 01:47

Well done everyone, all doing very well, especially during Easter which is a difficult time.

Notractors that £18 investing in good health in the future seems like a good deal to me. I have a sports bra that was too small, though might fit now. I'll dig it out and see if I can read the label.

Notanurse huge sympathies on the gallstones, mine is currently hurting and I can't wait till it is no more.

Welcome Callmesausage and 80sbaby, never too late to join and lovejy ti 'see ' you. Well dine in the first day Callmesausage. It is a case of just plugging away at it and trying not to look at the big picture and getting overwhelmed. One day at a time works fir me too. Gradually the pounds will add up . It will take time but the end game is to do this for the last time so we need time to change our mindsets and make this the last time. I find really focusing on the health aspect is a big incentive.

I've had a couple f higher calorie days , had an Easter Egg and been out for ice cream (ironically my gallbladder behaved then and not today when I was good. I have a small calorie defecit so far this week and am aiming for 3500 by Friday to hopefully lose a pound. DD keeps coming home with bread and cake after her shifts which is a bit of a challenge.

ZestyDragon · 19/04/2017 14:46

Welcome callmesauasage and 80sbaby - nice to get some new people :)

Yes, we are all at different stages but we are all trying to get to the same place so we can support each other as much as we can.

This weekend I had AF and THREE.EASTER.EGGS!! Guess how many are left.....that's right - none. I am not ashamed! (Ok, I am a bit).

I have kept up the walking and gym but suspect this week I will have a gain. Ah well, as DH says, its once a year.

Callmesausage · 19/04/2017 20:06

Thanks Zesty, bet those eggs were lovely 😀. Good luck 80sbaby, hopefully we can encourage each other.

Another good day food wise, though not enough steps.

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 19/04/2017 20:50

Mirabelle - that was my thinking too about the gym, just feels like the right thing to do right now.

Callmesausage - sounds like you had a similar day to me! I was going to go for a walk after work, but I'm shattered so having an early night instead Blush

Zesty - three Easter eggs is quite an achievement Grin. I think DH may have helped DCs with theirs - there's definitely a dent in the chocolate pile that wasn't there yesterday....Wink

BreakingSad · 19/04/2017 22:29

Zesty I had two eggs over Easter, so not holding my hopes that I'll have a loss this weekBlush. But on the plus side I tried a new dish for dinner, Brazilian fish stew with rice and it was lovely. I'm trying a new smoothie recipe tomorrow, just trying to shake up my meals.

Not enough steps here either today, I did give blood though and they did say to take it easy afterwardGrin

ZestyDragon · 19/04/2017 23:06

Thanks for making me feel better guys Grin DH was gobsmacked when he realised what I had done. We have agreed no eggs next year.....

I am walking everyday - anyone who doesn't have a fitbit should get one and I am taking the loose skin issue in hand and aiming to do a pump class and two weights sessions a week. Anyone doing some interesting/fun exercise?

Breakingsad - what is that recipe?

Callmesausage · 20/04/2017 06:57

Hi Zesty, when I lost the weight last time I did two pump classes a week and also body combat. It really helped with toning everything up.

I'm just walking and aqua aerobics until I've lost a few stone, then hopefully will go to pump classes again.

MirabelleTree · 20/04/2017 07:01

Fair play in the eggs Zesty Grin Maybe just a small one next year rather than none!

Really agree about the Fitbit and will be interested to know get on with the pump class and weights re the loose skin. Mine seems a little better at the moment after having a bit of of break so 2 weeks of slower weight loss. We've lost similarishnamounts I think? I'm leaving it at 2lbs a week up to op but after that I'm going to cut it down to 1.5lbs a week , then down to a pound and then half for the second half if this.

Feels great to be able to say second half, not yet there but it is in sight, which seemed impossible at the start, felt like too much to get to.

iloveredwine · 20/04/2017 07:03

Is it too late for me to join? I have at least half my body weight to lose and it's creeping up and up over the years. 100lbs would be brill for me. Only started on Tuesday again and as my user name says I'm a wine lover. Cut that out completely and hopefully that will cut out the crisp habit.

MirabelleTree · 20/04/2017 07:17

Absolutely not to late, have a virtual morning cuppa with skimmed milk Brew if you started Tuesday that's 2 days done and dusted.

iloveredwine · 20/04/2017 09:03

Thank you. Will weigh in on a Tuesday as that's when I started. Was 233lbs when I started so hope not to be that on Tuesday.

Callmesausage · 20/04/2017 09:56

Best of luck iloveredwine, there are a couple of us that started this week

MirabelleTree · 20/04/2017 10:48

I have just done the first C25K session. All a bit spur of the moment and the dogs were less polite than people were. One couldn't stop staring !

BreakingSad · 20/04/2017 11:16

Well done Mirabelle , I'd like to do that when I've lost a bit more weight.

Zesty* here's the recipe (although the fish fell apart and didn't stay in the chunks)

Welcome iloveredwine, I also love wine

I used to get a bit out of breath and found talking a little bit different if my dog walking group went a bit too fast before so I really think if I can do it anyone can. Whether I do it again remains to be seems !

iloveredwine · 20/04/2017 12:30

Thank you all. I've done 8000 steps this morning shopping and just going to have salmon and salad for lunch with a huge glass of water!

MirabelleTree · 20/04/2017 13:08

Well done , great start to the day !

Callmesausage · 20/04/2017 17:06

Just been to the nurse for an official weigh in (I'm going to go every two weeks) and actually weigh half a stone less than I thought, so that's a bit of a boost
Starting weight: 259 lbs
Goal weight: 168 lbs

iloveredwine · 20/04/2017 18:11

That's brilliant!

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 20/04/2017 19:09

Well done all! Sounds like everyone is having a good week - do you think we have shrugged off 'the dip'?!

I've had a good day so far - now sipping some icy tonic water with slices of lemon and lime, it's surprisingly good! Smile

ZestyDragon · 20/04/2017 22:31

Dip?? What dip??? Grin

Welcome aboard iloveredwine

Breakingsad thank you for the recipe. I am just so bored with the same food over and over....

Mirabelle I think you and I are roughly at the same stage though I have a stone to lose before being past the halfway mark and I am minus one gallbladder - I swear you will not know yourself once that thing is gone. Well done on the C25K. My knees always pack in around week 4.

I had my second pump class this evening and it was much better than the first, I found it wasn't so hard this time which is great. Hard to believe I was using a walking stick 6 weeks ago.

Great news on the half stone sausage.

I am on a work conference all bloody weekend with my bosses who are planning a serious piss up. And I will be sober....great funHmm .
