Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus in 2017?

TaliDiNozzo · 27/12/2016 11:31

Just that really. I promise myself every year that I'm going to do it then I'm sat here every fucking year still not having done it.

I think I probably need to lose around 150lbs tbh but I thought it might be helpful to have a 100lbs plus thread for anyone in a similar boat to me.

How are you planning on doing it? I am restarting Weight Watchers (at home on the app), clean-ish eating and setting myself a daily step goal. Am also moving house in January/February which helps (in my mind) with the fresh start ethos.

Zesty Flowers DH has has depression, it's tough. Have your calves shrunk at all? I didn't think mine have but they have done a little. I think they are going to be fairly substantial at the end. They say it does take time to see the difference. Have you bought any new clothes ? If not it's probably time to if you can.

MirabelleTree · 02/04/2017 20:09

Bugger !

MirabelleTree · 02/04/2017 20:10

To the loose skin in pool.

ZestyDragon · 02/04/2017 20:22

Thanks Mirabelle, its very hard isn't it?

I don't think they have at all but colleagues have said they think my thighs have and I would agree. Just not the calves! I can't wear knee length skirts or dresses with them. Maybe I should start measuring them. I have noticed work trousers are looser and clothes in general fit better but I don't think I am a size smaller. I do think that I need to lift some weights as I am lighter but not smaller than when I weightlifted. I just need to keep going and not get demotivated.

And yeah, bugger to the thigh skin. On the other hand it will be better for us to be normal weight with loose skin I guess.

MirabelleTree · 03/04/2017 07:11

I don't do knee length either and can't really imagine ever doing so. Definitely get a tape measure, I think calves shrink. Ugh slower than thighs but at least if you measure you will know. I am pondering the weights thing, whether to bit the bullet after op and go to the gym or if I can do enough at home.

With the excess skin you're right, much healthier to be normal weight. I just wasn't expecting it just yet. It's subtle, DH can't tell but I can. Plenty of time to get used to it I guess and it shows how far we've come to be discussing it really !

Lol notanurse @ clothes at the bottom of the wash basket. You sound like a woman after my own heart!

So I had bought on ebay a pair of second hand evans jeans in a 20.The bloody things didn't come up over the huge calves! So I am on the look out for wide leg jeans.

I also started the 30 days shred today. Started. I sat back down after 5 minutes Blush Sweet Jesus. I think my aim now for April is to get through one full 25 minute session of that thing!

ZestyDragon · 03/04/2017 18:04

Screw that! I went back and tried it again and I did it!! Couple of breaks but fuck it, I did it need to go and lie down now

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 03/04/2017 19:41

Zesty, you Star! Well done!

I'm also rather wistfully looking at my calves - they are pretty hefty! much like the rest of me Might get the tape measure out - my belly is deflating, but haven't measured much of the rest of me Blush

ZestyDragon · 03/04/2017 21:27

Just done 16,380 steps today but I feel very very sick - its my bloody stomach muscles reacting to the 30DS! I could actually vomit Confused

Tractors - I have been doing some googling and hopefully we will lose some weight on the calves as we lose fat overall. We have lots of muscles in the calves from carrying the extra weight so they may not actually be slim but hopefully will be less fat. I hope!

MirabelleTree · 04/04/2017 07:28

Notanurse, I get it must feel a bit frustrating at the moment but plodding is the best way to do this. I don't feel entirely comfortable losing at current average but really do want to get as much off before surgery so will do that, then revise my figures down. Gallbladder behaved sine Thursday thanks so grateful for that. That made me smile about the washing, can relate !

Zesty, huge respect!!! The shred and me did not get in, I'm very impressed.

BreakingSad · 04/04/2017 21:32

Way to go Zesty, 30 day shred is no mean feat.
I've been feeling really motivated this week, definitely being able to share my ups and downs on here keeps me going. I even did a free weights session at home today, I think the mention of loose skin prompted me Grin

MirabelleTree · 05/04/2017 07:07

Glad you're feeling better BreakingSad, I am too. Well impressed with the free weight !

I think I'm going to have to be a bit careful, the idea of eating 2000 calories in a day worries me very slightly and I don't think that's good. After my surgery I need to address that. I'm thinking of maybe trying 5.2 if I can tolerate it. Not doing anything for now as want BMI to be as low as possible for op but afterwards I think I might need to address this. I'm not eating particularly low amounts generally but the 1684 cals Nutracheck gives me seems to currently be my psychological cut off at the moment.

It's quiet in here, hope you're all doing ok. I'm struggling with energy levels this week so haven't got out as much as I wanted to, but still very much on track food-wise and feeling good about that.

We now have a few wedding invitations for this summer (must be something in the air!) so hoping I'll be in a smaller size dress by then! Smile Gives me some targets to work to too, as they're quite well spread out.

ZestyDragon · 07/04/2017 00:09

Hey notractors, I am struggling to keep the diet going. Too many long work days at the moment and also been feeling queasy the last few days. I swear it was the 30ds that did it. Also skinned my poor heels with new trainers so walking is an issue! Well done with staying on track with food 😀

frogsgoladidahdidah · 07/04/2017 06:21

Am going to make myself a cuppa and read this whole thread...

I'll be back!

MirabelleTree · 07/04/2017 06:55

Woken up with a migraine but 2.25lb off this week (21). Total loss 46lb, 54lb remaining. 3lb left to surgery target with 7 weeks to go. Next goal is 50lbs which is the half way mark.

BreakingSad · 07/04/2017 17:03

Mirabelle you are doing fantastic and I hope your migraine has lifted.
Notractors hope your energy levels are rising and well done to keep on track with your food.
Keep going Zestydragon and the 30 day shred is a killer.

I've had a good week, lovely weather I think has help lift my spirits and I even managed another weight session with a kettle bell and a video for beginners on youtube. I must try and stay on track this weekend, as I've had a good week food wise.
Weigh in tomorrow, have a good weekend ladies.

Rumtopf · 07/04/2017 22:28

Gosh everyone is doing so well, I'm really pleased for you all having read back.

I've been having a little break as my head's not really been in it (my Aunt passed away) and I've not been tracking or using my Fitbit. Although I weighed this morning and have only gained 2lb back, AF is here too so hopefully I'll see that go next week.

You're all very inspirational! I'll be back on it properly after next weekend as we have a whole load of family visiting for my Birthday.

So sorry Rum Flowers

I'm in the "up 2lb" club too - which I'm actually quite pleased about as I avoided the scales all last week and suspect it was higher than that this time last week!

On plan for this week, and kicking on the same next week, so it will come off Smile

ZestyDragon · 08/04/2017 11:02

Start: 287lbs
Current: 241lbs
Loss this week: 1lbs

Bad week here - started well but went to crap as seem to being going from nausea to eating crap and then back. Also feel sodding shattered.

Today is a new day though and I will have a better week I hope.

BreakingSad · 08/04/2017 11:11
