I have my weigh in and a 45 min session after it sesame - so we shall see! Maybe you've managed to raise your bmr and that's why you're losing despite eating maintenance? I'll try not to be too jealous😁
sugar nice to hear from you - where's that hope one hiding I wonder??? I think it's no harm to relax a little over the course of such a long journey. Helps train you for the future, cause the future shouldn't be us dieting til death although it f'king feels like it for me

Hi Sugar! I would like to say don't worry, enjoy what you're doing, bet you look fab in your size 12's, but that probably isn't what you want to hear. But please don't feel like a failure. You have had an incredible weight-loss journey. A few slip-ups does NOT mean that it is all going to go back on in an instant, and that you have let yourself down. Far from it.

Your maintenance plan sounds great Sesame Wink. How weird that the whoosh happens when you least expect it. Very welcome though - extra mince pies for you!

How are you Not? Hope you have been able to take it easy today. Don't want to get sick and run down. I did make it out for the run - knew you would be offering me some support!! Most welcome too, thank you Wink. I didn't go far - 2.5 miles, but it was at a fairly brisk pace, and non stop. Just had soup (shop bought - shop horror) - but it was all green, and only 240 calls for the whole pot greedy

I'm so happy..yes Iv had some weight loss but this is only my 2nd week, staying on track with my diet, drinking plenty.
Iv already noticed a change. I feel less tired and worn out, so much more energy, no bloating! My rings are a little looser and my tummy is a little flatter. I just feel healthier in general! So looking forward to feeling even better if things go on the way they do :)

Sugar you've done brilliantly to get to a size 12!

Needastrongone · 22/11/2016 15:41

Whoop whoop sesame, another lb! Brilliant. Wonder if it's because you don't need to focus so intently, and almost eat less because you can eat more, iyswim? Anyway, it's good news!

I feel the same Simon, we are all new and enthusiastic aren't we? I have the same physical symptoms though, more energy, skin better, feel better etc.

How was the run Bath?

Hope you are ok Not?

Salt My DD LOVES Nutella porridge! You might be surprised when you do weigh in.

Having a good day today. Not hungry. Done a strength/abs class and then went for a 5.5 mile run. Pace was much quicker than when I first got back to training.

Breakfast - banana and linseed on toast.
Lunch - roasted squash wrap from M&S.
Dinner - will be jacket potato and cottage cheese, salad.

Had some cucumber and a bit of hummus as a snack after my run.

I think I will be well under today due to the exercise.

Here's a question. My friend has ditched MFP because he was checking his calories left over at night and seeing a deficit and eating them up. Smile. I bank them, but enjoy that the exercise gives me the chance to have a glass of wine without worry. I think no treats would be a killer.

What do you all think when you see a deficit?

Report
Simonneilsbeard · 22/11/2016 15:48

When I have a deficit I don't eat more calories but sometimes I log in a few extra snacks into my diary just so I can actually finish and log my day? Iycwim..technically I suppose that's cheating :/ lol

sugar good to see you checking in here. As others have said the size 12s are clear evidence of how well you’ve been doing and how far you’ve come. Don’t beat yourself up, and try to acknowledge your achievements. Btw homemade nutella sounds delicious.

not how did weigh in and the session go? I reckon I’m not quite eating maintenance as my activity is higher than mfp gives me credit for. Also my diet is generally quite healthy and my body probably can’t directly access all the cals I’m recording (e.g. plenty of veggies and a handful of nuts every day).

bath well done for the run and for the soup lunch. Mmm, now you’ve got me thinking a mince pie would be quite nice…. Xmas Smile

simon glad you are feeling so many positive effects!

need I’m actually quite bad for seeing my balance at the end of the day and eating up the extra. I think I need to learn to bank more as this would give me the flex I need to let my hair down occasionally – this is another thing that would help me sustain in the longer term.

Someone gave me some Hotel Chocolat earlier. I’ve just had 4 pieces and then helped myself to an ‘office biscuit’. That is quite unlike me and comes to 220 cals. Well you lot all did say I should eat more cals…! Xmas Wink

I'm back! Down 1.1kg which is 2.4!! Hurrah, back just a smidge under 11.7 - found the class tough as was still tired from yesterday's one. I reckon that will be the pattern for the next 4 weeks, Monday & Tuesday tough, Thursday & Saturday a little less. Now I need to look at last weeks mfp cause I did have quite a bit of junk here & there. I really want another kg next week, only 2.5 weeks to go to my party and I want to be as close to 11 stone as possible. In it like the proverbial car bonnet😉

Just checking in, hope you've all had a good day. I'm too exhausted for a full post. Bad nights sleep + very early start + 12h working day = knackered goat. Despite all that I managed to stay on track, came in at 1050 today. The busy day probably did me a favour, no chance to snack or dwell on hunger. Sorry, all a bit me me me!

I'll join in with the me posts! Draining day at work, more talk of redundancies plus very vulnerable people Sad.
Zumba really helped, I honestly don't know how I coped before exercise!
Ended the day under at 1100 calories although I might treat myself to something else as DH is on nights.
I hope everyone is good and hanging in there.

Star Not! Well done you. V well deserved. Stick with what you're doing & you'll get there v quick.

Likewise on the exercise Loli. I might even join an early morning HIIT class. Can't believe I have even said that!

But feeling v sad though for my dear friend & her DC's - her DH & their amazing dad lost his battle. Sad. Unimaginable.

Still at 11 8.5 today which is good given the wine & chocolate last night! Just going out for blast of exercise with hound now. Far later than planned, but work got in the way. How dare it?!

Hope everyone else doing OK, counting calories, and shrinking appropriately!

I think the wine & chocs can be allowed considering the sad news, great that the scales decided not to be a biatch today.
Weighing in on my scales at 11.4.8😁 Of course that's nakey, post pee first thing so about 2lb/1kg heavier at the gym - bearing in mind I weigh in mid afternoon clothed (must weigh my gym gear, find the lightest stuff😉)
No exercise today, yeah! And wine with a little choc for watching the missing tonight - oh my nerves!

I'm in awe Need. I just add I don't ever recall being in the 7s. I do remember being 9 stone at the age of 11 Blush. But I really really do have big bones. Honest! My wrist is beyond most watch straps, so I don't bother. Pie & mash for them. I've just had 1/2 packet poppy seed crackers Blush. Knew I was going to munch so got prepared with something low sugar. Am out, so will skip dinner, but making-up my calories this eve with glass of red.

Are you not starving bath? I didn't eat this morning til 11, then lunch wasn't until nearly 3.30, dinner at 6. Tbh I managed pretty well, eating breakfast as late as possible helps a lot. I'm holding off to have my 🍷until around 8.15, I want to eek out my allowance as long as possible😁 Very achey now, another session planned for tomorrow...sigh
need you're hilarious! Cheating on your running club with your mate, that's double hard b*stard behaviour😉 Major envy on the bagels and I'm not even a fan! Day 8 of a bread free existence is going great, can't you tell? Only joking, not missing it too much, also not having potatoes/pasta but will have some rice with homemade curry on Friday. I'm not a big eater of any of them and I can manage a few weeks cutting them to a minimum if it means I can break the 11 stone

Bath sorry to hear about you friend.
Need I'm super jealous of your running (and weight!). Fab!!
Not I don't eat any bread, pasta or rice. I don't miss them but it can make eating out a pain.
I've had a better day at work and DD has just been over for tea and is definitely my girlie again.
On track for 1100 calories and I escaped from work early so I walked the dogs for 5kms before it got dark which was great.

Morning all. Absolutely zonked this morning, work at 5 but forced myself to go back asleep - now I'm like a zombie. Starving as well, I finished off yesterday around 1400 which I'm pleased about. I took a screen shot of last weeks calories and I had 1700 last Wednesday (damn the missing) so this weeks aim is to improve on last weeks figures. Busy day ahead, should keep my mind off my gym class later😖 How's everyone else doing?

See Bath, I have a tiny frame and am 5ft. My ring size is utterly tiny and I have size 3 feet. I have bony wrists. My weight sounds ridiculous but suits my frame iyswim? If you could have seen my DGM and most of the women in my family, you would see the genetics!

Great calorie count and good news about your DD Loli.

Sorry you are zonked Not, The Missing was great wasn't it?

I honestly and truly couldn't cut out carbs. Maybe it's me. They fill me up like nothing else does. Maybe it's the running. I struggle to buy into the low carb thing tbh.

10.5 miles last night, burning 755 calories. So banked a few yesterday. One of the girls who only started running in April joined us, she had never run so far before and she is elated and so proud of herself.

10.9.4 today, which is another half pound, but I suspect water deficit from the run.

Today will be a long dog walk for exercise. Planning 4 miles.

I'm missing out on The Missing. I must catch-up!

I'm absolutely pooped too not. But great calorie count for yesterday.

No WI for me today on account of being v munchy yesterday. Lots and lots of crackers. The upside, and only upside, is that they were seeded, and not crisps.

Sounded like a great (long!) run yesterday need. And yes to genetics! I come from a big-boned family. Plus we love our food Grin.

Hurray for your DD Loli! Such lovely news. You must be doing a v good job.

Sorry I've missed a few days - work's taken over a bit so just couldn't get a chance to check in.

Loli that's a very good target and it's a great approach that you can lose it slowly - it's more likely to stay off. Glad things improved a bit at work and delighted about DD getting better Flowers

Annie wow 5.5lbs is amazing Star Star Star well done!

Bath So very sorry about your friend Flowers. Great news that you're maintaining with the wee bit of indulgence. Wow I'm really in awe of your exercise - esp early mornings! Bit of a coincidence on the crackers but we have just rediscovered TUCs (think PP mentioned them ages ago) so at 17cals each they are not surviving long in our cupboards. Must.Stop.Buying.Them.

Need You're doing so well - with both the exercise and the losses. I sound like a broken record but it's so impressive especially given how light you are. Presume that's 7.9.4 today? You asked about deficits earlier - I rarely have one Blush as my goal is 1200, but on the rare days I'm under that I just bank it for the week as I'm concentrating more on my weekly average. I've never had an average under 1200.

Not Loads of stars for all the exercise Star Star!! When you first mentioned it I never realised it would be so intense. And well done on 2.4lbs already Star Star Star!! I can just hear the determination coming through in every update - it's great Grin.

Sesame Wow - well done on another 1lb Star!! How do you feel about it - would you prefer to stay exactly the same weight, or are you ok with fluctuating a little? Watching with interest in the vain hope that I get to maintenance one day Wink

Sugar another echo for not beating yourself up please. You've done SO well already! I think the key (and I'm thinking of myself here) is that we have to allow ourselves a bit of moderation. It's just if we allow it for weeks that turn into months, only then it becomes a risk.

Simonsbeard it's great you're feeling some good effects already. I'm at this 4 months and I'm such a different person - especially mentally - already.

Goat 1050 is a great day - well done Flowers!

Hope I've caught everyone.

Finished Monday on 1215 and Tuesday on 1275, so my weekly average ended up on 1550 which wasn't too bad considering the weekend. Weigh-in day yest and I lost 0.6kg! (~1.3lbs) - I really don't understand it given my calorie counts and TOTM but I'm not going to question it. Either I'm overestimating my food, or I'm burning more than I realise, or probably a bit of both. I'm now at 65.6kg (~10 4.5) so only 100g to go to my first target - still can't believe I'm nearly there.

Not you were asking before why I weigh-in after breakfast - honestly I don't know Blush - I think it's just habit. Morning routine is normally: crawl out of bed bleary eyed, change into dog-walking clothes, walk dog, come home, have brekkie, have shower, weigh-in. I did weigh-in first thing yesterday and I was 0.4kg lower than my 'official' weigh-in about 1 1/2 hours later, so I guess I feel like my normal time is more realistic. I might just bite the bullet one week and switch to first thing and take the free loss Grin.

H walked the dog yesterday and I lost my resistance at dinner time and we went for pizza - so finished on 1530. Not bad considering, but means I'll be chasing all week to lower my average. Hoping to come in around 1150 today though.

How are you all doing with Christmas preparations? I have done hardly any shopping yet and am starting to panic slightly Xmas Confused
