I'm ba-ack Grin. Although I wouldn't blame you all if you're rolling your eyes going - oh no here come the essays again Blush.

Anyway, been awol for over a week so far too much to comment on, so just a few honourable mentions:

Loli well done on the losses Star those 4lbs will go so quickly. Another person here that thinks you're amazing Flowers

Not you should be so proud of doing the gym classes - they sounds so bloody tough!

Need your losses are incredible - especially given your starting weight - well done Star. In my head I am picturing your physique like an athlete a la Jessica Ennis Grin

Annarose welcome Flowers and congrats on the new arrival! No children here but from knowing my friend's experiences, I would echo everyone else to be gentle with yourself right now. The fact you're here and conscious of food/weight is enough for now!

Bath well done on the size 12s!! And the lbs are flying off Star you'll exceed your 11.7 goal now at this rate!

Sugar well done on the losses too Star! Esp as you've had such a busy time with work/travel by the sounds of it.

Cora hang in there - it's so bloody frustrating when the science doesn't work (more on that below) but I bet you will get a whoosh soon.

sesame that's brilliant that the maintenance is working!

Pyjamas another 1.5lb - well done Star!

Queen and Simonsbeard welcome Flowers!

Goat welcome as well Flowers and well done on being in the 10s already Star - woohoo!

Just been having a crazy busy time - doing DIY at home last week and then work's been crazy this week. Never sat down before 9pm since I last posted. But I was also eating all round me. Still off the chocolate (phew) and kept logging, but just had lots of naughty stuff during those days e.g. KFC burger, pizza, chips and sausages, so my weekly average for last week (my 'week' is Wed -> Tues) was 1695 cals Hmm. And then I weighed in this Wednesday and had lost 0.7kg ~ 2lbs!!!

I couldn't bloody believe it. I was delighted but also cross - how the feck can I lose weight with those numbers. My only rationale is that I must have burned a lot more calories than normal, esp last week when I wasn't stuck at my desk all day. It was probably also a bit of a whoosh after a few sluggish weeks. I'm now 66.2kg ~10st 6.

I had a drawer of size 10/12s jeans hidden away so I was brave and tried them. First 2 pairs wouldn't even pull up over my bum, but the 3rd pair fit! I double-checked and they're definitely a 12. Bath a bit like your experience - they're a bit tight but size 14s are definitely too loose on me now yay!

No idea what this week will bring. Last 2 days' avg comes to 1445 and hoping to come in at around 1250 today. My next milestone is my wedding weight of 65.5kg (10st 4) - it still doesn't feel real that finally after 5+ years I'm nearly there.

DawheadAwgusEeentock · 18/11/2016 11:14

Argh - I wish MN allowed us to edit posts. That should be 0.9kg (in case anyone thinks my maths is as bad as my english Grin).

Also, the convo about our body image really struck me. I definitely still feel fat - and definitely b/c I don't have a flat stomach. I've never had one as an adult - not sure I ever will - but I know in my head that as long as my tummy is big I'm going to feel like I'm overweight Sad.

Now to be fair - I ~am~ still fat - 32% according to scales which is too high. When I'm nude-y and if I bend over, LOADS of fat still just droops down from my midriff, wobbling away. Sorry if that is TMI, but maybe I am helping by putting everyone off their food today Grin.

SesameSparkle · 18/11/2016 12:43

not ok, no toast talk, promise… Wink Hope you are swishing beautiful shiny tresses now. You can definitely make a dent in 3 weeks, especially with all those personal training sessions behind you.

bath yay for the loss that's a good buffer to have for those extra YorkshiresWink

goat yay for being back in the 10s Star

need is that Jamie Oliver porridge you’ve been having? What goes into that?

dawhead Hiya!!! No idea if maintenance is working yet, I’ve only been going it a few days. 2lb loss is amazing – see you can do it! We knew it all along… Wink Size 12s jeans too! Grin

Like not I’ve not weighed in the past few days either hopefully the flax seeds will sort it. But I’ve noticed I’ve moved my belt to its last notch. It’s one I only bought a month or two ago. I can never work out whether it means the leather has stretched out or if it means a loss. Confused

Not2bObvious · 18/11/2016 15:36

Well done dawg! Nice to hear from you and congrats on the size 12. Had a slice of cake after my lunch - freshly baked banana & choc loaf but I'm not stressing over it. At least I'm well fed, satisfied the totm sugar cravings as did the Cadburys rose & 3 squares of dark choc
Hair is swish'tastic, just have to find something to wear that doesn't cut off my circulation! Very bloaty belly😩

OP posts:
Bathsheba3 · 18/11/2016 15:50

I have the same udders Dawhead - it comes with the job description of "mum" I reckon Wink But great loss given your food choices this week. You are burning off more than you than you thought.

No sweaty exercise to ruin your hair do Not. Have a lovely time out this eve. Hope you find something v tasty out this eve.

You have def shrunk Sesame. Imposs I'm sure for belt leather to stretch Grin

Lolimax · 18/11/2016 17:11

Hi Daw welcome back! I have udders too mine are sexy (not!!) and well done on the weight loss.
Not I really fancy cake tonight.
I agree sesame I reckon that belt means you've lost inches from your weight.
Well I came home early to walk the dogs but the combination of rain and cold put me off. So do I put my pjs on and cwtch up on the sofa all night or go swimming to the adult only session at 8? I know what I'd rather do! DH is working in the morning so dogs will get a long walk with me then.
I've been good today so far, I took cakes (shop bought) into work for CIN but didn't eat any and when everyone else had chips for dinner I had my soup. God I'm boring!
What's everyone got planned for the weekend??

Not2bObvious · 18/11/2016 17:44

I vote for the couch loli, don't wear yourself out, you need rest and you do plenty. Dressed up & waiting to go, skinnies, glam top and high heels! Then add a stonking great parka to complete the look😁

OP posts:
Lolimax · 18/11/2016 18:14

I'll follow your advice Not!
I bet you look great, parka and all!

Needastrongone · 18/11/2016 18:16

Outfit sounds lovely Not. Have a super time.

I DID go out with the dogs, for a miserable, wet, cold and muddy walk. But, 3 miles done and the only real exercise I've done today. The thought of this keeping me under for the day kept me going!

But we are never ever ever ever happy Daw. I am far from Jessica Ennis (Grin), but I guess you would call me slim, at least now. I don't see that my muscles are getting toned again and my wobbly bits are less wibbly, I see the dimples and the tummy and the still saggy bits. However, that's being somewhat negative. I AM liking what I see more than I did, certainly that is true in clothes anyway. Waffle waffle....

Sesame It's JO's chocolate porridge from his new book. Oats, mixed nuts, cocoa powder, vanilla essence, citrus peel. Make it up with coconut water. I made a batch on Sunday and it makes 12 portions and lasts 2 weeks.

Actually we are having tonight's meal from the book. I have never used a recipe book more. Chicken breast, marinated in balsamic vinegar, oregano and some olive oil, garlic etc. Then laid on one slice of wholemeal/seeded bread, with a dollop of cream cheese and a mushroom on top. Also baby toms and asparagus marinated too, all roasted in the oven. 480 calories, as all meals are nutritionally broken down. Who is going to want a takeaway with all that fresh lovely stuff?!

Wonderful and brilliant weight loss Bath and Daw. Who cares how it happened? It happened!

I'm having a sneaky G& diet T and MN'ing. Yippee it's Friday...

Bathsheba3 · 19/11/2016 09:22

Scales still saying 11 8.5 this morning, so must be correct - unless I need to replace batteries. Strangely I don't feel as elated as I should be. What would make me v happy was if my DH actually took notice of me, regardless of weight Sad But the new trousers are going back - as a dress I've had for donkeys finally fits again, & perfect for the thing I'm doing this eve. I'll need spanks to rein-in the udders / belly, but under my rib cage is good!!

Hope you enjoyed yourself last night Not. Your dinner sounded really really delicious Need. I must be more adventurous with my cooking. Your loss is great Dawhead. I'm just going out with my handsome hound now - hope it was sunny for your dog walk this morning Loli.

Lolimax · 19/11/2016 10:28

Had a lovely long lie-in this morning so 2 little dogs still looking expectantly at me....Bath I hope you and handsome man enjoyed your walk.
Bed
Need that book sounds great, I think I'll look out for it.
Another lb gone so 12.5 now. I'm so tempted to get into the 11's but it's getting harder and the dieting novelty is definitely wearing off. Oh what to do? I really don't know what I would have done without all your support.

Not2bObvious · 19/11/2016 10:48

Ahh bath, you sound a bit low. Men eh? The older I get the more I think they're just programmed to disengage, think of us as part of the furniture. Every few months I throw a wobbly of epic proportions about the lack of interest, general meh'ness of life as a married couple - he picks up his game for a couple of weeks and then over time back to the same again. I wish I had the cure! But congratulations on the 11.8.5, you really are dropping the pounds super fast.
I dragged myself out of the bed and faced many hurdles to get to my class (couldn't find glasses, car iced up etc etc) But I done it. And as a reward I went to m&s and bought my little lady her xmas clothes which enabled me to spend enough to get their beauty advent calendar. To hell with poverty😉
Wow loli, 12.5, that's brilliant. You could try to just maintain that for a week, take a mini break off plan. It really is a dangerous time for dieters, too much restraint could mean an epic blow out over the silly season setting us back weeks. That's what happens to me. Last year I thought I had it sussed, managed Christmas and the days before and just after great but then lost the run of myself around NY's put on 7lb😖

OP posts:
goatkid · 19/11/2016 12:55

Ughhhh missing my usual full cooked Saturday brunch today. Settled for avocado on ryvita but it's not quite hitting the same spot as a full English!

bath That must be such a great feeling fitting into that dress again! Hope you had a lovely walk.

loli well done on another lb! That's fab! Maybe nots idea is a good one if your not feeling it, taking a few days off plan might help you to remotivate Flowers it is hard isn't it. This time of year when it's cold and dark just makes me want to eat more aswell.

not I'm extremely jealous you have a beauty advent calendar. I'm desperate for one but we're doing a lot of work on the house and have an expensive year next year so trying to be sensible. It's soooo boring tho!

Quick question, do any of you have the mfp premium? Just wondering what the benefits are and if it's worth getting it?

Not2bObvious · 19/11/2016 13:14

I'm too mean to pay for it goat, not sure if the benefits (or what they actually are!) are worth it, I find the free version does what I need. I had bacon, gluten free sausage, poached egg, tomato & mushroom for my brunch. V nice & around 320 cals. I've managed to stay away from bread apart from 1 slice of baguette yesterday.
Despite not drinking that much last night I'm very headachey, lying down now and hope to get some sleep. Still feeling very bloaty

OP posts:
Needastrongone · 19/11/2016 17:31

I don't have the premium version either Goat, as I don't really use the nutritional analysis.

Did you have a lovely time Not? I have the M&S advent calendar and trying to avoid spoilers. We should compare daily notes! I treated DD (as an early Christmas present!!) to the Sanctuary one, as they are on the 3 for 2 presents off in Boots. I'll be interested to see which I prefer. Well done on getting to the class.

Another lb? Well done Loli

Hope the dog walk restored some spirits Bath. Is your DH usually uncommunicative? Is your desire to lose weight tied into this at all? I bet you look fabulous.

I was a good girl today and ran early morning. 10 miles and I thoroughly enjoyed the cold sunny weather. So, despite having some recovery food and a very late but decent size lunch I should be well under for the day.

Scales showed another 1lb off at 7.10. I'm either over estimating my calories intake, or the exercise, in particular the longer fat burning runs at a slow pace which are brilliant for eating into calories are having more of an affect than I anticipated so soon. I know the exercise calories are correct, as they transfer automatically from the Garmin

I'm not hungry, I have lots of energy. I actually eat well over 1800 calories of good quality calories on average a day so not starving myself by any stretch. It's just coming off faster since doing MFP. But I am not sure I want it to iyswim?

Not2bObvious · 19/11/2016 17:39

Yes, had a good night out thanks need but a bit irritated to feel so under the weather after being relatively good. I'll have to get over it as I've to cook dinner for 5 - the thoughts😖 I have the l'occitane calendar too so I'll be thoroughly spoilt. My elder dd (12) is soo envious but I've promised I'll share. Well done on the run and the extra pound. Nope, no idea on not wanting the weight to come off quickly 😁 But then I'm 4 stone behind you so that's hopefully understandable😉 Ok, now I really must get it together. Maybe the only thing to fix me is a glass of 🍷

OP posts:
SesameSparkle · 19/11/2016 21:25

need mmm chocolate porridge sounds lovely, it's also great that you can make a great big batch like that. I make berry porridge - I put all the ingredients (oats, frozen berries, cinnamon, milk) together in a bowl, leave in the fridge overnight, then microwave the next morning. It sounds like you are doing really well anyway - what's your goal again?

bath sorry about your dh not noticing - we know just how well you're doing and I'm sure you looked knockout in that dress. Smile

loli well done on the lb, that's awesome. I also found it getting harder and harder as I went along and eventually found a stopping point that made sense to me.

not well done on making it to the class. I only made it to yoga this morning by the skin of my teeth, and then as last to arrive I had to suffer the indignity of having to ask the instructor to ask a whole row of students to shuffle their mats along to make enough space to put mine down. Blush

goat my treat all the way along has been Saturday brunch, and I'm on a 222 day streak on mfp. I'd rather save calories for that then a big meal out. And as not days you don't need a big splurge to have some of the good bits of breakfast. Anyway well done on sticking to avo - you are made of the hard stuff! I never tried premium mfp either.

Kitchen closed and I've ended the day 200 cals over my maintenance allocation. I do struggle with stopping eating once I've started - eating a meal, then making a little extra something 'healthy' for pud, then opening the cupboard and helping myself to a couple of squares of choc.... it's really my downfall. That's definitely how I gained the weight that put me here in the first place. But once I go do something else and start to digest, I actually end up feeling really satisfied and won't feel like eating anything. There's a real challenge here for me to try to get control over.

Not2bObvious · 20/11/2016 07:48

well done on getting to your yoga sesame, haha at the shuffling every one to fit in! I missed the warm up instructions at my class & was pretty baffled for the first few minutes (being hungover didn't help) Also had a 😳 moment as I lay on the mat trying to recover from one exercise and the instructor told me to wake up, scarlet. Bit achy this morning but it's definitely getting easier. Finished yesterday around 1500, Friday was around 2500- pretty impossible to keep the calories low when eating out. Even avoiding anything bready or cheesy or saucy when you add in the few chips and the drinks boom calorie bomb. I'm thinking I'll go for porridge but right now I'm having a gerd issue or at least that's what I think it is. Horrible sensation of something being stuck. Oh well, pity it doesn't stop me eating😉 Anyone doing anything nice today? I've done my ironing, now watching tv before the girls get up with their list of demands. I think I'd like to go for a decent walk, but that'll probably turn into shopping don't you know

OP posts:
Bathsheba3 · 20/11/2016 11:53

House tidy, all prepped, joint in the oven everything crossed I don't give anyone food poisoning as wasn't quite fully defrosted , and ready for everyone to arrive. Never normally this ahead-of-the-game. Must have forgotten something!

What I did find out yesterday evening was that I need to replace my full-length mirror at home Blush. OMG. Caught glimpse of myself in dress and aghast. It didn't fit, and I was bulging everywhere, despite spanks. Now THAT is an incentive to keep willpower strong today. No Yorkies, 1 or 2 spud, and rest of plate veggies.

me me me - sorry ....

Not2bObvious · 20/11/2016 12:13

You sound on the ball bath, I'm sure you won't poison anyone. Focus on the hostessing & not your own plate and you'll do no damage. That sucks about the dress, boo hiss. I'm sure you're being too critical but if you're uncomfortable there's no point in wearing it. I'm in total slob mode now, I'll have to stay strong as Sunday can be a disaster! I'm giving myself a 1600 limit today - there is no point trying to do 1200, I'd be setting myself up for failure. Scales is showing around .8lb loss from last Tuesday with 2 days to go but I'm hopeful it's better than that as I've got some totm bloat. I want a kilo off on the gym scales.

OP posts:
Sugarandsalt · 20/11/2016 12:35

Today started badly with an argument (not common in my house) followed by a bad breakfast (pain au chocolat). Apologies have been received and DH is cleaning the house so think he's sorry! I've just been for a walk to limit the damage and will aim to stay on track.

Lolimax · 20/11/2016 15:41

I managed to walk 8kms in the cold and wet yesterday and came home with 2 stinking dogs who I had to chuck in the bath! The fresh air did me the world of good and DH and I took DS to collect his girlfriend and managed a bit of Christmas shopping. I'd even decided to join in with a Chinese takeaway (would have been the first one since April!).
Unfortunately DH decided he wanted pizza instead and after cooking 5 of them my head was up my backside so I didn't have anything at all.
Another long walk today, nice dinner. On 700 calories so far so on track.
Bath I hope your dinner has gone well.
Sugar enjoy the cleaning being done!
Not I'm sure that lb will come off.
Sesame I'm scared of eating any chocolate at all.

Simonneilsbeard · 20/11/2016 16:14

Had my first weight loss thank to mfp! So proud of myself ..ok it wasn't much but it's a step in the right direction!

goatkid · 20/11/2016 18:23

Hi all. Hope you've all had a good weekend. I came in at approx 1950 yesterday, so 750 over. I was hungry all day, so nibbled more than usual and then Went to friends for dinner, so no control of the meal so had Spag Bol and wine (of course Wink) I did swerve dessert though so not all bad. I'm a bit gutted at being so far over. Never mind, onwards and upwards. I'm back on track today.
sesame 222 day streak is impressive! I think a light version of the Saturday brunch may have to become my treat.
simone congrats on the first loss! 👏🏻
bath how did the dinner go? Such a shame about the dress but I'm sure if you try it on again in a week or two you'll feel much happier in it.

SesameSparkle · 21/11/2016 00:14

not you could try a teaspoon of flax seeds as a porridge topper - that might things keep moving.... Wink

bath I'm sure you're being far too self critical and that dress looked ok. Anyway if you do want to look in a mirror, go check out your reflection in John Lewis. The ones on the shop floor are so steeply angled they make you look a foot taller and a dress size smaller, and so dark that there's no way you could locate any lumps or bumps.

loli well done on all that walking. I've been treating myself to 2 squares of dark choc, which I chop into little fragments cos I'm mental so I can savor it all. It's all accounted for....

sugar hope your day got better Flowers

simon well done - how much did you lose?

goat I'm sure a run of sensible weekdays will help to balance out the weekend excesses. Well done on logging the lot and for resisting pud

Kitchen closed today on 1919. With the exception of an m&s sandwich, I enjoyed absolutely everything I ate within that too. With exercise calories from a 5k run earlier that works out as 329cals under.

Went shopping today, bought some bits from m&s - all in size 10! gotta love vanity sizing .... Also some of the things I tried were all sold out bar a rail of 10s... Grin When I used to be a size 20, I used to have to buy absolutely everything I wore from that bloody store, along with monsoon - it's interesting going in there to shop by choice.
