1 stone - 12 weeks challenge

SanityAssassin · 27/08/2016 22:53

I have been much less active than normal recently and have managed to put on half a stone in the last couple of weeks and I can really feel it (I am small - although not so now!)

I am now the heaviest I have ever been except for pregnancy.

losing a stone would be great and I'm giving myself 12 weeks to do it
I was aiming for Nov 14 as the end of my challenge (12 weeks) so not to far off.

will be mostly low carbing (as I know it works for me) plus joining DH in his 5:2 fasting madness :)

I like to weigh daily (I know its frowned upon) but it helps me.

Thanks queenbean.

SanityAssassin · 17/09/2016 23:33

5 mile run for me this morning. Need to curb the eating though.

RueDeDay · 18/09/2016 06:27

I am down 4 kilos so far, combination of low carbing and the blood sugar diet. Finding it hard going but really pleased to see the weight coming off. Injured my back badly beginning of September so no exercise for me at the moment, diet only.

I'm using MFP as well, am 'Dharma Bumpkin' on there if anyone wants to add me!

RueDeDay · 18/09/2016 06:28

No space in my MFP name! Whoops!

Coldest · 18/09/2016 21:06

Wow ruededay! That's great !

thissismyusername · 19/09/2016 07:19

Rue day that is great, I haven't heard of the blood sugar diet, will look that up.

Im weighing in at 9st 9 today thats down from 10st 2 so Ive lost 7lb (half a stone!). I'm so pleased. Just got to keep going now...

well done everyone and keep going. Im going to walk home from work today for my exercise, Coldest do you get a chance to walk at all, I find its such easy exercise if you have the time?

AmayaBuzzbee · 19/09/2016 07:29

Weigh in 1: 61.4kg
Weigh in 2: 60.3kg
Weigh in 3: 59.8kg
Weigh in 4: 59.2kg

Slow and steady, which is great 😃. I have only made small changes to my eating habits, which I think I can keep as new habits after this 12 week period. If I will get to my target weight of 55kg by mid-November, I'll be super happy!

This part has been easy, I expect things to get stickier from here. The last 3-4kg to your ideal weight seems almost impossible to shift!

glenthebattleostrich · 19/09/2016 07:34

Morning everyone,

STS this week, not surprising as had a really bad weekend drinks wise, much wine and cider consumed.

Now I'm settled in on low carb I'm moving to intermittent fasting, doing 16:8 (only eating between 12 and 8) I've also got davina fit in 15 arriving this morning as exercise really makes a difference to my shape.

Totally on it this week. Friday will be difficult as I'm going to a McMillan coffee morning at a friend's house. I'm making some merangues and a gluten free brownie or a gluten and sugar free banana loaf. 2 weeks of gluten free has seen me fit back into my jeans (with a muffin top, but can live with that for the minute).

Good luck everyone and have a brilliant week

SanityAssasin its going down that's wat counts I think and I hope :)

I have never weighed myself in stone so can't get used to it

Weigh in 3 182. I m losing a pound a week Hmm

Queenbean · 20/09/2016 22:35

This keeps disappearing off my active chats!

I am 11 stone 3lbs. Considering that I started at just over 12 then that's almost a stone down in a month. I'm so pleased.

I have been doing HIIT workouts 3 x per week and really watching what I'm eating. I have tiny muscles in my shoulders and arms and have lost most the weight around my stomach and the top of my bum. Am very pleased.

Aiming to keep this going and want to be 10.5 stone overall

efeslight · 21/09/2016 08:52

Still hovering around 73 kilos.

CloudPirate · 21/09/2016 11:48

Forgot to check in on Monday! Down to 11st 11.5lb this morning, so down 8lb now, and up to running 5 minute intervals in c210k, am very pleased with myself! Still about 2.5 stone to go, mind...

Also made myself a meal planner yesterday - 5 weeks worth of low calorie but (hopefully) filling dinners with no repeats, food order being delivered today for the rest of this week... I always binge when I don't plan meals... also going to start allowing myself a glass of wine at the weekend but sticking to no alcohol on weekdays.

Yet to get onto the 30 day shred... I want to be toned but it hurts so much!

Have definitely found it doesn't matter how good I am with food, if I don't get out and do some exercise the scales won't have budged the next morning, anyone else the same?

thissismyusername · 25/09/2016 19:47

CloudPirate I have the opposite problem,
I regularly exercise (swim 2 - 3 times a week) anyway but I wasn't losing any weight because I was still eating rubbish food- e.g. a whole packet of biscuits or huge pack of crisps instead of proper dinner. MFP has really kept me on track, but I still find the weekends really hard.
anyway good luck for the weigh in tomorrow.

What is the 30 day shred ?

thissismyusername · 26/09/2016 07:19

Ok weighed in at 9st 6 so have lost another 3lb. I'm more than half way to my goal.

AmayaBuzzbee · 26/09/2016 08:01

Weigh in 1: 61.4kg
Weigh in 2: 60.3kg
Weigh in 3: 59.8kg
Weigh in 4: 59.2kg
Today: 58.6kg

Very happy! It is good to see a downward trend, just hoping I can maintain this all the way to get to where I want to end up at! :-)

going slowly........ . Will be happy when/if I break the 9st barrier as that is always my sticking point.

Congrats on all the great losses :)

glenthebattleostrich · 26/09/2016 13:24

Another 1lb off. Stuck to 16:8 all week with 2 600 cal days in there (accidentally).

I've lost a couple of inches too so very happy.

Thisis, shred is an evil but very effective exercise video by Jillian Michaels. It's only 25 minutes but you work hard and it gets results fast.

Coldest · 26/09/2016 14:47

Another week and another meagre one pound lost. 181 now. 4 lbs on a month

efeslight · 28/09/2016 08:37

Hello all, well done to those who have had success, however limited...
The scales said 72.1 today, so am pleased with this. Starting point was 74 kilos.
Am still aiming to get under 70 kilos. Am fasting most mornings until 12, so not eating from about 7pm the night before til 12 takes me to about 16 hours of fasting. But then having a few wobbles, especially in the evenings when the kids are in bed.

CloudPirate · 28/09/2016 09:27

Sorry thisis wasn't ignoring you, had forgotten to check here...

30 day shred is divided into segments so I think it's 3 mins cardio 2 min dynamic weights (I use little hand held weights but know people who use tins of beans or something) and 1 min of abs work.then repeat etc. There are 3 different levels so you do each for 10 days. People on MFP are always doing amazing before/after photos but because it makes me so sore initially (mostly my arms from the weights bit) I worry it will put me off doing other exercise!

I too am finding weekends hard - gained after this weekend but 2 days of being relatively sensible since mean I'm down another pound overall. Another 3 lbs is awesome though, you can't be eating too badly!

glen and coldest a pound a week is meant to be more sustainable I think... anyway, I'm telling myself that even when I stay the same, it is miles better than putting weight on at the rate I have been doing!

glenthebattleostrich · 02/10/2016 10:07

Hi all,

Won't be able to weigh in tomorrow so did it today.

Week 1 - 14 2
Week 2 - 14 0.5
Week 3 - 13 13
Week 4 - 13 13
Week 5 - 13 11.4
Week 6 - 13 6

5.5 lb off this week. Total loss of 10lb so far.

I'm probably loosing another half a pound doing my happy dance around the bathroom.

16:8 is going brilliantly, I resisted cake on Friday morning and stottie (my all time favourite food in the world ever) yesterday at MIL's.

Feeling incredibly motivated this week. Got a couple of exercise classes booked in for this week.

Monday boot camp, Tuesday zumba, Wednesday boot camp and running tonight and Friday. My supermarket shop is booked for tomorrow, off to the farm shop to stock up on yummy local meats and veg :)

Wow! Well done Glen and Sanity, excellent work!

Here are my stats:

Weigh in 1: 61.4kg
Weigh in 2: 60.3kg
Weigh in 3: 59.8kg
Weigh in 4: 59.2kg
Weigh in 5: 58.6kg
Today: 58.5kg

So, a loss of 0.1kg! 😄

I am not complaining, a loss is a loss! I have been far too relaxed this week, put in zero effort (and too much wine!). I 100% expected to be up 1kg from last week, so was amazed at this loss, even if small!

This is great motivation, I really want to do this and get to target weight by 14/11! I feel I can do it, just need to get a grip and focus!

AmayaBuzzbee · 03/10/2016 19:47

And glen, you really are on a roll!

Bet you'll be 2 stones lighter by 14.11! 😄
