I am in at a cool 1,274 calories today. If I don't lose about 12lb overnight there are going to be WORDS with my scales in the morning.

The slim and save plan is 12 weeks with a 1 week sort of break and then you can start again.

Day 1 down. Came in at 1270 which is over but until I do a shop I'm eatin what we have in

Breakfast was granola, lunch was prawn, tomato and avocado courgetti (amazing but why is avocado so calorific??argh) and dinner was gammon with home made chips.
No exercise as work busy all day so no chance for a wander. Tomorrow will be better!
Debating giving up alcohol for September-have cut right back after a heavy summer to just weekend quite easily so might see if can have a proper detox month!

shortaris - sounds yum. Is it a clean eating recipe book?

well done hopefully on sticking to calories today. Fingers crossed for weigh-in tomorrow. My kitchen is now closed and I'm at about the same.

B - poached egg & spinach on rye bread
L - lentil, roast veg & spinach salad
D - breaded cod filet, few oven chips & peas (too tired to cook properly)

It's amazing that my 1200 calories go a lot further without wine Wink.

I don't eat exercise calories if I can help it either.

I'm quite worried that I can't even contemplate a sober September, is that dreadful? In my defence I don't drink 4-5 nights a week & I don't drink enough to give me a hangover most weekends except last weekend when I had two
Calories a shade over 1400, not ideal but not that bad considering I had lunch out. Very doubtful I'll see a loss this Friday, time to resign myself to a gain of a pound or 2. I've got to get the weekend behaviour in check! I do pre populate my mfp diary...then I eat whatever I fancy! Ack, stupid woman

Evening! Off work so a good day. Walked the dogs for an hour managed over 7000 steps. Food was-
Overnight oats (40gms, fat free Greek yogurt and a handful of frozen fruit)
Quorn fake chicken salad
Chicken stir fry no noodles
Calories 1100, 3 litres of water
And I'm just home from Zumba. Hopefully I'll be in the 13's by next week!

Thanks for the advice. I'll have to make sure I save some calories for my pre workout snack. Or just run earlier so it's a meal time when I get back.
I ate 200 of my exercise calories but apparently burned 673. I'm a little gutted that this figure isn't as accurate as I thought. Oh well. I'll know for next time.
Well done everyone for today. Sounds like people are really making their calories stretch. I need to come up with more adventurous recipes.

Sugarmonster I love avocado and hate that it's so calorific! Doesn't stop me eating it though!

Thanks for the welcome all. Today was not a good day. Walked to work (30 mins all uphill) but as a result was starving and then went out for tea.... Ate 1700+ today, weight loss limit is 1200.

I have been okay so far on 1200, usually have a cereal for breakfast, salad for lunch and meat and veg for tea with room for a low cal snack once or twice.

Walking to work again tomorrow so will take better snacks!

It's a learning curve isn't it Ella

Yes Bath she's a pretty wee thing who's all over Instagram.

Not2be I bloody love a drink. I don't often drink in the week now but always have a good few at the weekend. Good for you if you can do it Sugar

Hopefully those scales will shift. I used to eat masses around my period but I'm on the mini pill now so haven't had one since Jan. Yas!

Coragreta I downloaded the 5:2 book. It h as lots of 300 cal ish recipes that you could always adapt for ideas.

Loli the 13's are in sight!

Down one whole pound this morning. We will ignore the fact I have woken up hungry and want to eat everything in the house, and celebrate the fact that I am actually weighing in a whole TWO POUNDS less than I did on 1st August. Better than a slap in the face with a wet fish Hmm Grin.

Not2bObvious · 01/09/2016 05:29

Hurrah hopeful! Get a glass of water into you (you're up early, bad sleeper like me - baby or different timezone?) to take the initial starvation feeling. I saw a video about adopting a water plan, so glass of water when you wake, 1 hour later 1 before breakfast, 2 before lunch, 100-250ml after every caffeinated drink, 1-2 before dinner, and another before bed...phew it's early for all the typing! If you're not getting your 1-2-3 litres a day in, maybe add this to this months resolutions, I believe it really helps.
Weighing in shortly. Let's see if there's anything to register as August weighloss, doubtful

Not2b I sleep like a log, but I'm a real early bird - I get up to do yoga 5-6 mornings a week. Did a full hour this morning, which always makes me feel really good. Now making banana pancakes (mainly banana and egg, bit of flour) for the DC's breakfast and trying to work out how many I'm allowed to keep me within 300 calories or so. Probably half of one!

Yay! Well done Hopefully that's great news! Best of luck everyone weighing this morning.

I weigh every morning. I know that the weight varies a bit but hope that by plotting it every day I can keep on track. The scales going up slightly every so often reminds me that I really can't afford to slip up.

So, after an excellent day yesterday with a long walk and calories nicely within the 1,200 limit I've had the boost of seeing a 1 lb loss. My scales are a bit rubbish and to be honest it's quite hard to discern whether the line is on one kilogram or the next or somewhere inbetween. And then I need to convert from kilos to stones and pounds, as I'm part of the confused generation who use imperial for some things and metric for others.

My children have gone back to school today which makes things slightly easier. I don't have to eat my low calorie soup whilst watching lanky teenagers putting away vast quantities of food.

Well done! I think it's really motivating to see the lbs falling off. Puts you in a good mood and keeps you on track.

I like the water idea. I read a study that said people who drink a large glass of water before a meal eat 75calories less each meal.

I had the donut one a few weeks ago. It was nice but I felt sick after. Obviously won't have another one for a loooong time.

For all my talk of water plans, I'm only having my first glass now. Those shakes scare me!

I drink at least 3L a day but need to get most of it drunk before about 4pm (or my 46 year old bladder won't let me get any sleep). I have a 1.5L water bottle that I keep refilling and that also helps me not to feel hungry. It's definitely habit forming you sort of have to force yourself into it at first. I also find I drink a lot less tea as a result.

Report
Hopefully · 01/09/2016 15:22

Once again, allow me to mention how 1,200 calories a day is basically nothing. Making risotto for dinner tonight and I think I will be having about half a cup, with the world's most enormous salad! And I'm not even doing 1,200 as I'm allowing myself half my exercise calories, so it's more like 1,350 today.

I drink tons of herbal tea throughout the day, but I am making a conscious effort to glug the odd glass of water too. Anything to stretch out my meagre calories!

I'm hoping a few days of this will get me well on track though, and I can go back up to 1,450 and try not to eat many exercise calories (I realise I had got in the habit of eating about 3/4 of them).

First day back at work was short due to IT issues. I then lost the run of myself and hat a big sandwich for lunch followed by a Magnum. Back on the wagon tonight!!

Bathsheba3 · 01/09/2016 16:56

I have the same issue Lolimax !

Hopefully - you are right. 1200 is nothing. I wonder how "normal" slim people manage. Are they permanently on a diet, or just eat teeny tiny portions & satisfied with that?

On account of no wine in my supermarket trolley I've spent the cash on lovely fresh flowers.

Im just hoping the 1200 thing is just to the weight drops - cause it's going to be a miserable life if this is forever😖 I definitely don't believe I could eat 2000 cals a day/7 days and not gain. I'd say 1600 will be my maintenance. Ahh feck it, why was I born with fatso genes

I think 'naturally thin' people just eat tiny portions. My husband is slim and will say things like "I don't want any tea tonight I had a lucozade 3hrs ago".
