DeepFriedFlamingo · 30/04/2016 13:24

So I've managed to pick up half a stone from somewhere and need to lose it so starting tomorrow going to try...

Not doing anything special just going to eat less and move more.

Who's with me? I have a Fitbit and am willing to challenge anyone Grin

I've lost about 2lb this week, despite having had a few celebrations. :) Have also joined the gym so hoping to get to a few more classes as that has really been helping.

AugustRose · 14/05/2016 13:20

I've only lost 1 lb this week but it's better than nothing, especially as I've been feeling quite bloated and 'fat' even though I've been pretty good. The problem for me is I always lose weight from my top half and face first, so need to lose quite a bit before I notice it on the bottom/legs.

hellogoodbyeendo · 15/05/2016 07:55

Another two pounds this week! And as pp have said, that doesn't quite matter as much as feeling soo much better as most of the food I'm eating is full of nutrition, I'm caring for my body and doing some gentle exercise. I think I'm losing easily as I had a four-week TOTM which ended as I started this, plus a couple of big celebrations, so the water weight is dropping off. Hope everyone is feeling good.

RainbowFlower24 · 15/05/2016 08:33

morning all - Got back from holiday and was able to weigh in this morning - 2 lbs down on last week - so now I am 11stone 7 pounds from a starting weight of 11 stone 11 pounds. I was able to be pretty strict on holiday and move more than during a working week. Back to work on Tuesday. I also need to add some more high intensity exercise that fits in with working. I have to admit I am not feeling super good, just normal, a bit tired - as pp have reported - maybe need to look at what i am eating and drink more water or something. We had toddler DD in with us in our room on holiday though with meant less sleep than usual - perhaps that is it.

august I am the same, everything around the belly looks the same - face is looking a bit less full.

Thanks so much for this thread - I am finding it very helpful in staying focused. Hope everyone has a successful week coming up.

hellogoodbyeendo · 15/05/2016 21:00

Just checking in so I don't eat the free chocolate my DP just brought back! Hmm perhaps this thread is why I'm losing the pounds easily...

indigo88 · 16/05/2016 07:17

Helloand : Same here about feeling so much better in myself because eating for nutrition rather than comfort and also having this thread to keep me focused.

Rain : well done.

hellogoodbyeendo · 16/05/2016 07:27

That's great news indigo88!

Hrafnkel · 16/05/2016 09:40

Great that people feel they're making progress Smile

I had a food-filled weekend! Friday lunchtime out for cake - I had it s lunch. Then that night out for a curry. I'd planned to have chicken tikka. It was delicious but huge. Had sag aloo with it, they brought out some daal by mistake so I had that too! It was lovely but I was really full - ate too much really but never mind.

Saturday did a lot of (planned) baking and had afternoon tea at home with friends. I ate loads - chocolate cake, fruit scones with jam and cream, cheese scones with butter, flapjacks, sandwiches - the lot! Managed to keep to respectable calories by not eating much else all day.

Yesterday a roast at home with friends. I limited potions, had dry roast potatoes, fruit for pudding. Managed ok.

I balanced all that with quite a lot of exercise: I did two runs and two long power walks fri-this morning. Too scared to weigh myself now, though!

hellogoodbyeendo · 16/05/2016 11:23

Sounds like a fun weekend hra. I always weigh in the morning before eating and drinking, I'm usually a few pounds heavier by the afternoon. Might be worth waiting till tomorrow morning to weigh in?

deepdarkwood · 16/05/2016 14:39

Hi all
Just weighed in and I'm down 4 lb from the beginning - so pretty pleased with that - especially as I wasn't too good over the weekend either ( nachos and brownies on Sat with Eurovision mates, and cheeky afternoon vino with mates at the allotment yesterday afternoon!

Great to hear how everyone is getting on - it definitely helps me motivation!

Having another 500cal day today ... to try and keep things moving....

RainbowFlower24 · 17/05/2016 09:10

Well done everyone! Just checking in to keep myself honest - I'm at my desk, resisting the temptation to boredom/procrastinate snack - just 2.5 hours until lunch

PetersonPeterson · 17/05/2016 11:26

Hi I am making some progress too- I can't remember if I officially joined you at the start, but I was 10st7 and I'm now 10st3. Am planning to get to 9st8 by the start of July with a mixture of healthy eating, running and HIIT. It has been slow going to start with but have finally made a bit of progress. Think the HIIT is key as I have a lot of fat left over from pregnancy and breastfeeding. Well done everyone.

Greatdomestic · 17/05/2016 18:27

I've had a one and a half pound loss this week, which I am actually feelng good about.

My stupid peri menopausal body is holding on to every pound for grim death so, every pound lost is a major victory.

I'm keeping my eye on the prize of a half stone loss in 2 weeks- surely this is possible?????

RainbowFlower24 · 17/05/2016 19:39

great news greatdomestic

Today was very hard for me, whilst I technically didn't snack, have sweets or seconds - I was only able to stop myself from breaking the diet by having a coffee with a slosh of cream instead of milk and a tea spoon of sugar (last 2 weeks I've managed without) and 2 out of my 3 one plate meals were very large full carb heavy plates.
not quite sure I'll lose anything this week. Trying to work out why it's suddenly harder today

Hrafnkel · 18/05/2016 07:34

I definitely have days like that rainbow. I think to myself, I hopefully will live a long time so bound to have some challenging days.

So, I HAVE FINALLY LOST A POUND!!! That's three in three weeks. I'm comfortable with that, as I'm not looking for quick fixes. I do want to be at target by the summer holidays though!

Continuing to eat healthily this week - my treat is yet another afternoon tea on Saturday - out with friends this time. So far, the thought of it is keeping me on the straight and narrow!

6.5 mile walk done this morning.

citybumpkin · 18/05/2016 08:02

Can I join in? New start. New me. I seem to have put on a stone since January and feel decidably unfit. Was given a fitbit for my birthday recently so I have the incentive. So far cut down on fatty things and alcohol. Exercising every day and drinking loads of water in a sponge like fashion! Bought a lovely bikini in the Debenhams sale as a reminder that I will look fab in it.

RainbowFlower24 · 18/05/2016 20:06

hrafnal congratulations!

deepdarkwood · 18/05/2016 21:49

Welcome citybumpkin and well done hra! Every pound definitely counts.

I am struggling today. I think I am just bored of being good - I have a huuuggggeee longing for a packet of chocolate hobnobs!! I have resisted but have definitely been snacking (more healthily than hobnobs at least!) more than usual today.

Trying to drink lots of water this eve and putting mint, lime and ice in to trick myself into thinking that it's a treat Wink

hellogoodbyeendo · 19/05/2016 06:53

I snuck off and had a pack of free from rocky roads, tmi but my periods have gone wonky so got one a fortnight after the last lengthy one and massively craved sugar (all in hand medically, no thread derailment here!). I'm back though! Healthy weekend ahead. Deepdark the mint and lime idea is brilliant. Congratulations all on your progress!

citybumpkin · 19/05/2016 07:46

Thanks for the welcome Deep. I do a similar thing with water - bought a filtered water thingy and add lemon. I fancied comfort food yesterday so fell off the wagon by eating a cheesy bean panini and some crisps. Duly rectified by a bowl of fruit/yoghurt for dinner and an hour of yoga. We will all get there...eventually!

cathyandclaire · 19/05/2016 11:48

Hello all, well done on losses. Been AWOL with work so haven't weighed but was another 2lb down this morning, so 5lb in total. 3 more to go to get to my target at the end of May. Omelette and bucket load of water for brunch here, then probably a bit of over indulgence for DH's birthday. No cake though!

Hrafnkel · 21/05/2016 05:41

The sodding pound has come back :( so overall I'm 2-3lb down in more than three weeks. I've been burning 2100-2300 cals a day and eating up to 1750ish, so I know I'm in driving, though it'd not be fast loss. Feeling a bit shit about that.

But I still feel good, healthy, less bloated, more energy, better sleep, no hay fever. I'm concentrating on all of this.

Three 10k races to look forward to this week: tomorrow's in a local forest, Friday night and next Sunday both at the seaside. Already looking forward to collecting my medals. Something else to be happy about.

I'm really pissed off about lack of weight loss but trying not to show it.

Hrafnkel · 21/05/2016 05:42

Driving=deficit

cathyandclaire · 21/05/2016 08:48

You're still down, so well done!

I was researching and writing something yesterday about fitness trackers and they're not very reliable for energy expenditure. They're good for activity trends but not for eating back the calories apparently.

I keep on going up and down randomly, it's very frustrating!

MorrisZapp · 21/05/2016 09:00

What scales do you all use? I'm paying 50p a week to use the ones in Boots. Somehow I believe those ones the most?
