DeepFriedFlamingo · 30/04/2016 13:24

So I've managed to pick up half a stone from somewhere and need to lose it so starting tomorrow going to try...

Not doing anything special just going to eat less and move more.

Who's with me? I have a Fitbit and am willing to challenge anyone Grin

Right I'm inspired. Going for no comfort eating for the rest of the week!

Just done an hour of Pilates and drinking camomile tea. Had a unexpected five-mile walk across fields with a friend last night so legs feeling very stretched!

Still can't shift the lb I already seem to have put on :( but feel lighter and sleeping better. Hey ho.

Can I join in. I'm doing two no carb days a week, no alcohol and trying to go on a daily walk as the weather improves. Started the month at 9st 7 now 9st 5!

Weighed this morning and I'm now 8.7 - down from 8.12 in only a week so I'm changing my target for the end of May to 8 stone ( I have a very petite frame and honestly look best at 7.10 or thereabouts).

I'm breastfeeding so guessing it's down to that as haven't done much different.

Hope everyone has a good day! At least the sun is shining again Smile

The sun is shining here too in sunny Scandinavia. I've been for a walk! I used to walk the kids to school but since elder child started school have two drop offs so it's too far and not practical. But I decided to work from home today and so used the time driving to and from work to have a good walk. Feel loads better for it!

The big news from yesterday was instead of buying a chocolate bar when out I bought an apple - go me!!!!

I also had a dig through the wardrobe and found some pretty tops that haven't seen the light of day in many a year. They are my 'inspiration' item and are now hung up in full view.

When are most people having a weigh in? I'm on Monday, which seems daft in retrospect!

We can do this!!!

Can I join you? I lost loads of weight after our ds but now it has trickled back on after the last 3 years. If I have any chance of getting into my summer clothes I need to be better. I have joined myfitnesspal which I think is going to help me own up to how much I am actually eating.

Welcome newbies, everyone seems to be enjoying some sunshine, I'm weighing in on a Sunday...you're welcome to put your weight or weight change or nothing at all if that's what you would like.

This thread is a no pressure, do what you like but we're in it together and will be half a stone (roughly) down by the end of May.

Keep it up peeps, you're doing marvellously Smile

Just plucked up the courage to weigh myself - 10stone, 5lb. Have wanted to lose weight for ages and just keep piling it on - am thinking maybe time to low carb. It's so depressing suddenly being this size after years of eating healthily/exercising. Not sure why this has happened.

But enough of the self-pitying...I am very on board to lose a stone in May.

Ooh, a bit late to the party but can I join? Am just starting 5:2, and suspect that loosing 1/2 stone in a month is a push, but going to hit the fitbit too and see how I get on. Weighed myself yesterday, and would ideally like to loose a stone before summer holidays, so starting now seems as good a time as any Smile

Will pm you about the fitbit stuff, flamingo. No idea how we do that!

Managed to cut out all snacks since 1st May, upped my Fitbit target to 12k steps and in last three days have easily exceeded it, currently on 18k steps today. Dusted off a Jillian Michael DVD, did that on Monday and nearly killed myself, mind you I ache even more today! Shall join the weigh in on Sunday, keep up the good work, especially those getting up at the crack of dawn to exercise!

also, posting my goals here in the hope that by doing them I can make it happen - will only weigh in once a week

Does this look realistic to you? I know it's a bit fast but I really have to shift this weight. I feel like I am living in a fat suit.

today - May 4th (10st 5lb)
one week today - May 11th (10st 2lb)
two weeks today - May 18th (9st 13lb)
three weeks today - May 25th (9st 10lb)
four weeks today - June 1 (9st 7lb)

Ultimate goal 8st 10lb by August, say. That's bang in the middle of BMI, and any lower and I get cold.

Hrafnkel Just done an hour of Pilates You posted at 6.40am and you'd already done an hour of pilates Shock

Well my Davina yesterday was good but I am paying for it today, I ache all over so no exercise today for me, hopefully do something tomorrow. Also it's supposed to be a better weekend here so I am be planning on gardening/cutting the grass. It's a fairly large, uneven garden so takes about 2 hours to cut it all and is a workout of it's own.

Well done all, I'm stuck at the same weight despite being pretty good so am now on a mission! I've done 2 HITT classes today and drunk bucket loads of water. Usually i'm great at the low carb thing and the weight falls off.
Oh well, I will keep on keeping on.

Travellinghopefully, they reckon 2lb a week is good going but if you can manage 3 then go for it...looks OK to me just don't beat yourself up if you don't quite make it

Hoping to join - Flamingo, you are my weight and current goal buddy! Also currently 11st 9 and wanting to be 11st ish by June. What height are you?

I'm looking eventually to get down to anywhere between 10st and 10st 4 by around September.

Got a friend's wedding at the end of the year (still waiting for the invite!) but my ex will be there with his new girlfriend who is the same height as me and super, super skinny. Shallow as it is, that's my motivation.

I'm aiming to cut out sugar completely. Had some good results earlier this year with LCHF so keeping up with that. Shredding every other day and gym 4 times a week.

I also really need to drink more water and improve my sleeping patterns!

Would love to join in, trying to get down from 10st, mostly around my tummy. Cutting out alcohol and carbs, so want a glass of wine!!

Jamie I'm 5 4 so look heavier than I am, I'm aiming for 10 7 eventually as I'm quite athletic and muscular so know I'll never be petite

How has everyone done today? I have walked 10,000 plus steps (part of it a run) and have kept within 1,500 calorie limit on MFP and have been doing this consistently for last few weeks. Weight is slowly coming off. About 1-2 lb a week. Have another 6lb to go at least until I'm back to pre baby weight. It feels slightly like climbing a mountain though...

Day 4 : no comfort eating and I'm now feeling much better in myself. Interesting we seem to be very northerly - Scandinavia. Rather like healthy eating in an international styley.

Managed to do Zumba on the Wii today, which got me under my calorie goal too. But mostly pleased that I've managed not to do comfort snacking for a couple of days. I was getting into a destructive eating/self-pitying pattern, so really pleased if I can kick that!

So today has been Ok despite me thinking I might crack as DH hasn't been here to keep me on track. I've had yogurt, 2 boiled eggs, pineapple and a Good For You chicken and Mushroom pie thing from Sainsbury (mashed potatoes on top not pastry) with broccoli and spring greens. I didn't get to do my walk though as got out of work late so have to try harder tomorrow to make sure I definitely do some exercise. Well done everyone for staying on track.

I just missed on the 10,000 steps but still came in under the goal on mfp. What I don't get is that I always seem to come under on mfp, while just eating normally. So where did this spare stone come from in the first place??
