Five weeks to lose one stone, anyone want to join me?

That's it really! Have had to start on tablets for high BP, I have underactive thyroid - taking Thyroxine and also have PCOS.
I am 40 in a few months.
I know it's harder for me to lose weight with the above conditions but surely it's not impossible. I've been doing SW for 6 months and lost 12 lb but have put 4 lb back on over Easter. Not possible to go to SW at the moment due to work/uni commitments and DH long working hours.
My plan is to lose one stone in five weeks initially.
Then another stone by my holiday in August.
Thinking of low carb, cutting out sugar and doing more exercise.

So, I weigh in today at....11 st 12.

Does any want to join me, or give any advice to help on low carb, sugar?

I'm not yet back on the wagon but I'm keeping in touch with this thread while I try and find my motivation again! If my baby dd would give me more than 90 mins sleep then I think that would help!

QuimReaper · 05/05/2016 20:21

HELP ME THREAD FRIENDS!

Had a good food day, early, virtuous dinner (although far too much feta) ... And now I can't stop thinking about chocolate.

STOP ME! Any good diversion tactics? I'm sipping a Lady Grey, which is not helping much!

whirlygirly · 05/05/2016 21:21

Down another pound today with 6 to go. My waist and hips are definitely reduced but my thighs remain stubbornly thunderous.

Was ravenous this evening and had to have a piece of toast ( the dcs were having some and I couldn't resist). When I looked at mfp I realised I'd only had 1000 calls all day and walked over 13000 steps so I stuck some cheese on there too Grin

BrandNewAndImproved · 05/05/2016 21:43

Ha I can't believe I said I was back on the wagon ffs.

School pizza and crumble with cream for lunch, big mac chips and milkshakes for tea. I've come to the conclusion life is to short so I'm going to exercise every single day so I can eat what I want.

QuimReaper · 05/05/2016 22:03

BrandNew for me life is too short to exercise every bloomin day! Grin

I resolved my chocolate quandary by the way - found some elderly Options Hot Chocolate sachets in the kitchen, 39 utterly delicious calories and sorted me right out!

How oh how can there be so few calories in something so sweet...?

BrandNewAndImproved · 05/05/2016 22:09

Quim I just have no control over food so I have to do something Grin

Well I can but that would involve me quitting my job.

QuimReaper · 05/05/2016 23:06

BrandNew you should lobby the school for a ban on calorific puddings, and only tangerines for afters.

For the sake of the kids, of course. Wink

ClutterofStarlings · 06/05/2016 08:05

brand I hate to break it to you (but this is retribution for more telling me about pudding!) but I cycled 60-80 miles a day for a fortnight & lost less than a stone. For half that time I was eating less than I normally would too.

quim someone up thread said something about housework as a distraction! I've tried that a few times, just getting up and doing a thing. Sometimes it works, sometimes it leads me to the kitchen.

BrandNewAndImproved · 06/05/2016 14:09

Clutter you've pissed on my chips now Shock I was planning on cycling to work everyday to eat what I want.

Quim we did trial fruit only for puddings but 97% of the kids wouldn't eat it and would just throw it untouched away. Only the reception dc that started that year and didn't know any different ate the fruit. In the end we were told to give them shortbread triangles along with the fruit for the calories and now it's back to school puddings again.

ClutterofStarlings · 06/05/2016 18:06

I looked totes fabby tho, v toned, so it's probably still worth it :) that was six years & four stone ago :(

ClutterofStarlings · 08/05/2016 10:44

Where is everyone? Still no scales here, and had burgers on Friday and ice cream yesterday, but have done lots of walking. So sort of success.

BrandNewAndImproved · 08/05/2016 10:49

I'm here cluttered.

Went on a bike ride yesterday, got sparring training today and am going to get up early and go for a run tomorrow morning as my bikes not quite right from yesterday.

ClutterofStarlings · 09/05/2016 08:00

Sulking. Stood on PIL's scales yesterday (in clothes obvs!) and have put on 2 lbs. This was not the idea!

QuimReaper · 09/05/2016 10:05

I have had a BIG weekend and have another coming up for my birthday! Argh!

The good news is, my birthday present is a juicer. I can recover by living on mulched vegetables for a week in penance.

ClutterofStarlings · 09/05/2016 15:58

Punishment juice Grin

BrandNewAndImproved · 09/05/2016 16:07

I got heavier when I started juicing and smoothi-ing! Be careful. Not that the warm milk, porridge oats, peanut butter and banana smoothies had anything to do with it Blush

I'm really proud I managed to get up and was out jogging for half 5 this morning! I didn't eat any cake and custard in work either or have a burger. I had the veggie lasagna instead.

whirlygirly · 09/05/2016 21:51

Brand new, doing anything at 5.30 is impressive, well done! Smile

I had an Indian takeaway this weekend but stuck to veggie side dishes and have done lots of exercise. Weighed myself this eve and hoping for another pound or two this week. My bmi is hovering at around 25 now and I want it down!

BrandNewAndImproved · 10/05/2016 06:19

Thanks I'm bloody hanging this morning though.

What side dishes did you have whirly?

whirlygirly · 11/05/2016 06:26

I love tarka dhal so that and sag aloo. And a fair helping of dps biryani, which was lovely.

Had a nice moment in the office yesterday when a lady who works offsite came to visit and came straight over and said she couldn't believe how different I looked since she'd last been in (about 2-3 weeks) hooray!! Smile

I'm 8.5 lbs down, 5.5 to go and trying to stay on it. Hoping for another lb off by Friday.

How's everyone else getting on?

QuimReaper · 11/05/2016 11:06

I've had a couple of good days a week but too much indulging Sad Long weekend + sister's birthday + my birthday coming up = no Slim Quim!

I feel like I can only lose weight without socialising at all, which is frustrating. Once I've got it off I know I can maintain with treats thrown in around a good diet / good habits, but breaking even is no good for now.

I'm hoping my juicer will give me the boost I need to hurtle down to my goal weight! Grin

QuimReaper · 11/05/2016 11:06

Where's Guessinggame gone? About 4 weeks out of the 5 in, would be interested to know how she's getting on?

Come back OP!

TaurielTest · 11/05/2016 12:27

I'm here. As I expected, I'm making slow progress (lost a couple of lbs) but in the right direction and hopefully sustainable. I think the thing that's really helping me stay on track with exercise and no sugar is going to bed earlier, and getting enough sleep for a change.

whirlygirly · 11/05/2016 21:19

One thing that's struck me doing this is how comfortable my stomach feels. The diet I'm eating seems to suit me and I'm not bloated, uncomfortably full or anything I used to be. I've also pretty much beaten my sugar addiction. I need to hold this thought.

It's odd how weight doesn't go off evenly. I now have a very slim back (!) and reduced hips but still the flabby thighs. I should have measured when I started this. Confused

Agree that socialising isn't compatible with weight loss. I gain weight every weekend and it usually takes half the week to shift it again.

Notsoskinnyminny · 13/05/2016 07:32

Hello my lovelies I've been awol due to the death of my ex - no need for sympathy as he was a complete tool and would be revelling in the fallout.

After putting 4lb of my initial loss back on I'm now lost that and another lb so 4 to go to hit a stone. When I measure I'm still the same all over but DH says he can feel the dippy bits on my hips - why couldn't it come off my ginormous boobs?? 2 wks til I go away so another week of stress would be good.

Enjoy the weekend and if you're naughty don't feel guilty and then eat everythingin
