Five weeks to lose one stone, anyone want to join me?

Guessinggame2016 · 12/04/2016 10:13

That's it really! Have had to start on tablets for high BP, I have underactive thyroid - taking Thyroxine and also have PCOS.
I am 40 in a few months.
I know it's harder for me to lose weight with the above conditions but surely it's not impossible. I've been doing SW for 6 months and lost 12 lb but have put 4 lb back on over Easter. Not possible to go to SW at the moment due to work/uni commitments and DH long working hours.
My plan is to lose one stone in five weeks initially.
Then another stone by my holiday in August.
Thinking of low carb, cutting out sugar and doing more exercise.

So, I weigh in today at....11 st 12.

Does any want to join me, or give any advice to help on low carb, sugar?

Yes, I think a lot of time we misinterpretate thirst for hunger.
Have just managed 24 mins of 30 mins couch to 5k. Was better than I thought!

2madboys cheese is my downfall too when I'm not on the wine or other snacks! And I do exactly the same as you with the BabyBel Solution! I've found it helpful to put two in my coat pocket and eat them on the go. Satiates the cheese craving but you don't keep thinking about eating more of them unless they're there.

I have a stone to lose for my wedding in July, if I may join y'all!

I thought I had a really good week last week but only lost about a pound Sad

QuimReaper · 18/04/2016 10:48

Clutter what is slimmers tea...?

treaclesoda · 18/04/2016 12:14

I was doing ok, but I suffer from depression and am a comfort eater. Was feeling weepy last night and then this morning once kids were off to school, I grabbed two sausages from the hot food counter in the shop when I was buying milk. So that was my breakfast. I don't know why - I am deeply suspicious of them at the best of times Grin but for some reason, feeling down, they seemed like a great idea.

Guessinggame2016 · 18/04/2016 12:29

Hi Quim!!! Treacle, I do the same, but I keep telling myself to start again.

Really trying to go low carb/no sugar today. Had 2 eggs and cheese wrapped in ham for breakfast! Just had 4 crab stix to try and hold out and have a late lunch as 3-4 pm is the time I snack most.

Going to have a tuna salad for lunch I think. And then chicken breast and veg for dinner. Have only drunk water today.

I have been invited to a swimming party in one month so I have even more reason to lose that stone!

Morning everyone!

I had the best of intentions to be really good over the weekend but did nothing but eat rubbish. I find it really easy to be strict through the week then the weekends are my downfall. Hopefully I can pull it back this week and still have a loss on Friday.

QuimReaper · 18/04/2016 13:35

Same here Sunshine I simply cannot seem to be "good" during the weekend!

QuimReaper · 18/04/2016 13:37

Guessing I'm going for a later lunch too.

Man, I'm hungry though...!

UmbongoUnchained · 18/04/2016 13:37

How's everyone doing? I've lost an inch off my waist! (Not going by weight)

Made some sticky rice balls with jam inside today for any sugary cravings. Having chicken teriyaki for tea with vegetable rice and a miso soup.

QuimReaper · 18/04/2016 13:42

Wow, well done Umbongo - I haven't measured my waist, maybe I should!

Does that mean you aren't weighing yourself at all?

womdering · 18/04/2016 13:42

I do Exante. It's low carb, v low calorie and yummy
I'm currently eating their chocolate covered peanut butter bar
It's not for everyone, but I find it's so easy and results are great. Facebook groups make it supportive and there's no need to weigh in, pay for weekly meetings, etc.

UmbongoUnchained · 18/04/2016 13:46

quim no I don't weigh myself. My weight is never a good reflection of how I look. Even as a size 6 my weight will be heavy and bmi will say I'm over weight.

QuimReaper · 18/04/2016 13:49

Your BMI is in the overweight region at a size 6?!

You must be made of muscle! Or have you had your skeleton infused with Adamantium...? Grin

UmbongoUnchained · 18/04/2016 13:51

Haha I'm not a 6 currently but when I was I was still overweight haha. I'm an 8 at the minute but am feeling a bit podgy as I went a bit crazy over Christmas so just need to lose probably half a stone.

Guessinggame2016 · 18/04/2016 14:05

womdering - how much does Exante tend to cost you? have just been looking on their site. Is it fast weight loss?

Can I join in please although I'm slightly late.

11st 12 yesterday and I want to be 11 dead on by the end of may when I go on holiday. I don't want to jiggle in my bikini! My weakness is I'm a school cook so eat a lovely custard pudding most days Grin. I was 12st 7 at the start of January so I've done pretty well so far with mfp but I can't get to 11!

Guessinggame2016 · 18/04/2016 14:13

Of course you can brand, we're exactly the same weight :)

Good luck! mmmmm.....custard.....

SunshineBee · 18/04/2016 14:22

Guessing how long have you been doing C25K? I really want to start but I've had a recurring chest infection since January and keep getting ill every couple of weeks. I'm on antibiotics now and hoping it will clear it up so I can start! Just wanted to know how you're finding it Smile

BrandNewAndImproved · 18/04/2016 14:26

Thanks and yes I think mmm custard everyday Blush. How tall are you?

I do taekwondko 3x a week plus either a massive bike ride or a 8,000 step walk round a nt place on a Saturday so it's definitely my diet not my activity level that's stopping me dropping anymore.

scotsgirl64 · 18/04/2016 14:31

I started doing H.A.B.I.T exercise classes about 6 weeks ago as I need to lose about 5 stone and I love food too much!.... I've already lost a total of 7inches all over ( arms bust legs and hips) but not losing much weight!..,I'm 5ft 9 and a size 16/18
I've done WW before and lost 5 stone after dcs and lost 2stone at SW 2 yrs ago....find it difficult with menopause too....know what I should do but carbs are my downfall and dh loves cooking too!
need to look good for daughters graduation in June and holiday in August

Guessinggame2016 · 18/04/2016 14:36

Sunshine, I only started last night! Did loads better than I thought I would. Think it's because I knew I'd only be running for 60 seconds at a time so could see through that!

Brand - I'm only 5'4 so quite overweight, although classic apple shape, big boobs and belly and skinny arms and legs - don't I paint a lovely picture! Apparently weight loss is 80% what we eat and 20% exercise.

You all do so much exercise! Decided to ditch the car for the school run today, going to have a brisk walk instead!

OP posts:
womdering · 18/04/2016 14:43

Guessing, I tend to buy 100 bars etc at a time to get the discount. Lasts me ages and I just don't have to think about food. There's no wiggle room to have just a bit more of this or that etc
It's fast weight loss for sure. But after first couple of weeks it's similar to an amazing week on slimming world. I just like the simplicity of it. Great for someone like me who is back to back with work and children etc

TakesTwoToTango · 18/04/2016 15:22

Hello, can I join? Currently 10st 7lbs post baby and normally 8st 10lbs, so I have a lot to lose Sad I've increased my exercise and cut right down on sugar and portion sizes and tried to increase veg and water. Only been going for 5 days, but it feels like a lifetime already and I'm really struggling with motivation, especially as the scales are tipping 2lbs heavier than when I started...

ClutterofStarlings · 18/04/2016 15:40

Brand why did you have to mention school custard pudding!? It's one of my favourite things!
Slimmers tea is this or similar, I think I bought it because there was a thread on it. I think some of them may do interesting things to the innards, so be cautious!

Five weeks to lose one stone, anyone want to join me?
Guessinggame2016 · 18/04/2016 15:44

Welcome Tango!
Womdering, i saw the 60 items for £60 online - think it would be worth starting with that?
