OP posts:
coddycodcod · 19/05/2004 12:10

yes fine
week one is the hardest but you should all lose about 3 lbs if you do it the fishy way

OP posts:
JanZ · 19/05/2004 12:11

I'll start sensibly, as I really want to lose 2 stone - but I'll start sensibly! I'm 5ft 4" and I'm currently 11st 2lb - weight at wedding (6 years ago) was around 9 stone. However, 10stone will do me as an intermediate target!

Started "diet" yesterday - at the moment just trying to eat sensibly and cut out the Mars Bars, Fry's Chocolate Cremes at lunchtime and dscholocate buttones (stolen from ds!) in the evening.

Do have a motivational event - my passport runs out in July and REALLY don't want even a face shot of me at the moment!

Nutcracker · 19/05/2004 12:11

Oooh thats exactly what i need to lose, can i join too

gscrym · 19/05/2004 12:11

I'd like to lose a stone too. I've got a posh wedding to go to and I don't want to look like a homely mum. Also, went diving on Monday and was depressed at wobbly, pale thighs. Till they're thinner, not a glimpse of daylight shall they see.

coddycodcod · 19/05/2004 12:12

ok janz will deal with evening munchies in due course.

OP posts:
coddycodcod · 19/05/2004 12:12

OP posts:

OP posts:
suzywong · 19/05/2004 12:14

coddy
baby is 8 months and having 80% of milk from me.
Plus I just spent a small fortune in Tesco yesterday and can't run to anymore grocery shops for a while.
So maybe I should watch and learn but not join in, except to shout encouragement to the rest of you.

feezy · 19/05/2004 12:15

Yes please I eat fish but not meat. Will that be a problem 4 menu ?

lemonice · 19/05/2004 12:15

I've got more weight to lose but perhaps if i join enough diet support threads I will get somewhere.

Look forward to seeingthe shoppping lisst

gingerbear · 19/05/2004 12:17

me, me, me too oh great bossy motivating Cod one.

You are just the kick up the (wobbly)bum I need.

I am 5'3" and pre DD (who is almost 2 so I have no post - baby excuses....) I was 9st 10lb, now am 11st plus (can't face the scales anymore) and I want to get to 9st, but one step at a time, 10st will be my shorter term goal.

In fact I think I prefer to measure progress in dropping dress sizes. I have stuff I havent worn for 2 years.

I have done ww before and lost a stone easily. I like the simple healthy eating approach, but wine is my downfall. I also struggle to fit in enough exercise - walking more should be easier now that the summer is here.

JanZ · 19/05/2004 12:18

I'm sure dh will join in - he's actually been moaning that he WANTS to eat more salads.

I normally do my menus for the coming week, plus the shopping on a Thursday night.

Looking forward to your help!

PS With any luck, in a month's time, I'll be able to change my profile!

coddycodcod · 19/05/2004 12:19

right

  1. No eating kids food or sweets or chocolate.
  2. No booze week one at all ( i will become more lenient on that!)
  3. no take aways at a ll

lets do breakfast first
you MUST have one. I find certain cerals ar emore filling than other - eg porrige, shreddies, weetabix and branflakes - special k just dont fill me up till lunchtime ata ll

please post a suggested cereal or simply have on from that list. toast and butter is quite high points ( in a ww way) so avoid that

also ceral takes more chewing

also skimmed milk please if you have milk in drinks all day - if not ( I have them black) you may have full fat or semi.

OP posts:
coddycodcod · 19/05/2004 12:20

you must all use your scales every morning from now on
ifin doubt buy some new electronic ones that measure in half punds.

you cannot lose wight by "simple feeling that my clothes are looser" sorry NO

OP posts:
jampot · 19/05/2004 12:22

Me too - I have about 3 stone to lose (to start with!)

So far today:

2 weetabix with semi skimmed milk
1 foxs' classic biscuit
some water but not enough !!!

Planned lunch:

tuna, cucumber, tomato
water

please help me......

gingerbear · 19/05/2004 12:22

But I am scared of the scales coddy, will you hold my hand, I daren't look....

feezy · 19/05/2004 12:23

When is day 1? ( scared about alcohol bit so i need to prepare by drinking house dry)

coddycodcod · 19/05/2004 12:23

cheaper scales

OP posts:
JanZ · 19/05/2004 12:24

Gingerbear - can I claim you as my twin?

My weight pattern - and objectives - are pretty much the same as yours.

I've only just dared get back on the scales after having done well pre Christmas to get down to 10st 6lb - but then fell off the wagon so badly I didn't want to get see what the damage was!

Weighed myself yesterday and was surprised to find I was "only" 11st 1lb. Was good all yesterday and then this morning was 11st 2 lb (Yes, I know you shouldn't weigh yourself daily)

Go on - weigh yourself! You may bepleasantly surprised - and anyway, it'll help to see that your achieving targets!

I'd just love to break 10st this summer!
