MFP to lose weight

Emz449 · 30/05/2015 18:31

Hello! I'm starting this thread to make myself accountable and as motivation. I've been using MFP for 16 days now and have lost 6lbs, really enjoying it and finding it so easy to use. I'll be posting weigh ins as and when as I am a frequent weigher! Hopefully the loses will continue Grin I started in Janaury as 14 stone 11lbs Shock but I've become complacent

Starting weight - 14 stone 11lbs
Current weight - 12 stone 5lbs
Goal weight - Currently 10 stone 11lbs but I think that I will aim lower once I reach that

On 1,450 a day with an active lifestyle. Would be great to see other peoples loses and experiences with MFP, annoyed I didn't start it sooner!

jonty you are on fire! Must feel great to be losing so much. Well done!

Emz449 · 10/09/2015 10:10

Wow Jonty that's amazing, well done, you're on fire this week! My drink of choice is always vodka and diet coke, I'm not really keen on other alcohol really but my friends love shots, tequila and jagerbombs and they can be difficult to turn down! Especially if they're bought for you.

Got my scales back today so going to weigh myself tomorrow morning, fingers crossed for a loss! I do feel slimmer so hopefully it'll reflect on the scales Smile

Sansarya - hurray! I am also 5'9" and my eventual goal weight is 10st. You are my dieting hero!

Jonty - fantastic for you.

Emz449 · 10/09/2015 21:01

Evening all, another day on track for me, looking forward to weighing myself tomorrow, would love it if i was 11 st 3, (back to my lowest weight so far) or even maybe 11 stone 2 if i'm lucky! Will update you in the morning Grin

T
Good luck for the morning Emz

Bathsheba3 · 10/09/2015 21:40

Well done Jonty - all your hard work paying off. And am sure yours will too tomorrow Emz.

I lost extra one of the lbs I put on. Hurrah. But was given box of choccies today and couldn't resist. Boo. But did have eyebrow wax and hair cut today (separate appointments !!) so hopeful that will have lost me a smidgen.

willbeslimagain · 11/09/2015 06:31

Ladies you are all doing so well, keep it up! Good luck with weigh in today Emz.

I have shamefully dived face first into cake this week and have not managed to get self control back. Been a week of real overeating but got back on it yesterday as actually hate waking up in the morning feeling bloated and knowing my jeans will be tighter. Have ordered a delivery diet for next week to try as I feel like I'm always in the kitchen and hard as I'm weaning and wanting to cook good meals for ds. Will weigh Monday but will be happy if I'm back to where I was a week ago!

JontyDoggle37 · 11/09/2015 07:25

Morning all, no loss here today as expected, plus I fell off the wagon last night and had two glasses of wine and some chocolate. In a bid to stop myself eating more though, I actually got all my home office filing done, organised my diary for the next week and did some work on my new business so it wasn't all bad! Off out for a run in a minute, should be 2.5 miles this morning, not looking forward to it as baby woke up at4am having wet through his nappy, clothes and sleeping bag so needed a full change and then wanted a feed too!

Emz449 · 11/09/2015 07:32

11 stone 2 this morning! Hurrah'

Purpleknickers · 11/09/2015 09:06

Well done Emz

Jonty I hope the run went ok, very brave after a broken nights sleep

Bath I'm sure that haircut will have lost a 1lb Grin

I had a sneaky weigh in today (official day is Sunday) and I am the same which is Sad as I truly have counted every calorie and done 30 day shred every day. Fingers crossed for Sundays weigh in

IMustEatMoreVeg · 11/09/2015 09:24

I have lost my mojo a bit this week. Had a little binge the other day and then lat night had a fair sized binge (I'd say 1500 to 2000 calories on top of the day's 1200). I haven't done that for weeks so I am a bit disappointed. But I could feel it coming all week and really tried to avoid it. I have a 13 year history of very disordered eating but no diagnosis. I would say MFP is helping to regulate me overall but realistically I don't think that I will never binge again.

Still, I weighed this morning as usual (gained a lb) and had my usual breakfast so fingers crossed I can head this off at the pass and not spiral into weeks of binging and overeating.

Emz449 · 11/09/2015 10:03

Sorry to hear that Imust, sounds a bit like Me last week really, I hope you get your mojo back soon.

I'm sure the scales will move by Sunday for you Purple Smile

Hi all. I would like to join this thread to keep me motivated. I restarted MFP nearly 3 weeks ago after a very indulgent summer and so far I've lost about 5lbs. I am running a bit and logging steps from my fitbit. I need to keep it up but the weekends tend to be bad news with meals out or takeaways and of course wine. I am not quite sure what my target weight is, but trying to work on body fat percentage as much as lbs, and I want to get it below 30% as a starting point. My MFP name is NeverMakeQuiche, if anybody would like to add me as a friend.

JontyDoggle37 · 11/09/2015 12:40

Purpleknickers be careful with Shred, you build so much muscle doing it, although your body changes shape massively you don't necessarily lose much weight. I do Shred or my own strength workout only two days a week now and run on four days, as this gives me the best weight loss/toning combination.

Emz449 · 11/09/2015 15:02

Agree with Jonty, if I do weight training I don't see as much difference on the scales. Your muscles also retain water when you start using weights a lot which is maybe why the scales haven't moved for you.

Hi all
Well done emz must feel good.
purple I sympathise, I have stuck to cals all week. Had sneaky weigh in this morning. The same as Monday, boo! Trying to tell myself its cause I lost so much last week. And I am out for a meal tonight, oh woe!
imust good luck with getting back on the wagon.
Welcome majestic I am a recent joiner as well, posting helps focus my mind.

Purpleknickers · 11/09/2015 15:24

Thats interesting about 30 day shred , I cannot run for toffee but I am out pounding the pavements every lunch break making sure I do my 10k steps as per my fitbit. Truly hoping that todays weigh in was just a blip and Sunday will bring a smile but if not I shall try to take it on the chin and not let it send me to the wine bottle she says bravely

Hi Majestic I will add you on MFP I am Loobie63

Irishe I am out for a meal tonight too but going to do my best to stick to my calories

Quick question does anybody actually eat the calories earned tghrough excercise or should we just ignore them? so far I have just ignored

Purpleknickers · 11/09/2015 15:27

through

Emz449 · 11/09/2015 15:30

I don't actively seek out to eat them but if I'm having a meal out or a slightly higher calorie day for whatever reason then I don't mind if I go into them, sort of like a back up Smile

OP posts:
Purpleknickers · 11/09/2015 15:53

Good plan thanks Emz

MajesticWhine · 11/09/2015 18:56

I will eat the extra exercise calories if I feel really hungry. If I've had a really active day and been running then I sometimes i feel I need the extra.

Emz449 · 11/09/2015 19:56

Another good day Smile bit of a carb heavier day with subway for lunch (302 cals) and hm chicken balti for dinner with 50g brown rice but still within my allowance of 1200.

Tomorrow is poached eggs on toast which i am REALLY looking forward to and then dinner out in the evening, no idea where we're going, so many options in Bristol centre but i'll make sure i make good choices, no alcohol either!

Sunday will be fine, poached eggs for breakfast, salad for lunch and chicken with green veg for dinner, nice and easy! It's next weekend that i'm more concerned about! I'd love a loss tomorrow or sunday but will see what happens, losing just 2lbs has been great

Oh quick update on my boyfriend, he's having a great time and is getting some great experience with speaking spanish, i've promised him by the time i go to see him in November i'll have mastered the basics! There was a slight internet access concern for the first day or two, but thankfully that's been sorted! I would have been devastated if he didn't have any wifi, it's our main point of contact! 77 days to go!

OP posts:
Purpleknickers · 12/09/2015 08:57

Gosh Emz 77 days that is a long time Shock I am jealous of your poached eggs I have just had porridge with blueberries and now I want poached eggs. Off to a circuits class in about 20 minutes still living in hope of a loss tomorrow but another weigh in today produced nothing so I think I'm wanting a miracle, or perhaps needing one

irishe · 12/09/2015 09:54

Morning all
Well my meal out last night was lovely. Had tomato salad to start, followed by aubergine gratin, steamed veg on the side. I made the healthiest choices I could but the scales put me a pound up. Grim.

purple I too, need some miracle dust! No loss at all so far this week, despite coming in slightly under daily cals all week, and now a gain! Still hoping for a loss on Monday.

emz glad to hear the wifi connection sorted out. Peru sounds exciting but must be hard to be apart for so long

Good luck all for the weekend

JontyDoggle37 · 12/09/2015 11:49

irishe you'll be a pound up because you ate later, it's not 'real' weight. It'll be gone by tomorrow.
Still the same here, didn't really track yesterday had a bit of a tricky day, and started this morning off badly with a croissant and a Danish pastry, plus I've lunch out today at TGI's. Oh well, very light dinner it will be. I've got loads of work To do tonight so no wine which is a good thing!
