MFP to lose weight

Emz449 · 30/05/2015 18:31

Hello! I'm starting this thread to make myself accountable and as motivation. I've been using MFP for 16 days now and have lost 6lbs, really enjoying it and finding it so easy to use. I'll be posting weigh ins as and when as I am a frequent weigher! Hopefully the loses will continue Grin I started in Janaury as 14 stone 11lbs Shock but I've become complacent

Starting weight - 14 stone 11lbs
Current weight - 12 stone 5lbs
Goal weight - Currently 10 stone 11lbs but I think that I will aim lower once I reach that

On 1,450 a day with an active lifestyle. Would be great to see other peoples loses and experiences with MFP, annoyed I didn't start it sooner!

Hello all I hope you dont mind me joining in? I have been lurking for about 3 weeks but inspired by you all I have been doing MFP for nearly 2 weeks and I bought a fitbit to inspire me to walk more. Week one I lost 6.4lb which I know is mainly water and week one luck but I was dead chuffed Smile

Danger zone tonight as have some friends coming round for piza and wine, does everyone stick to alloted claories no matter what? and does the odd blip ruin everything. I am of course going to try hard to stay within 1200 but we shall see

Emz449 · 04/09/2015 11:33

Welcome Irishe and PurpleKnickers! Also well done for great losses too, very impressive Smile I'm still feeling a bit meh about things but diet is going ok! Going to sit down and write out my plans for the next few weeks. I do love my fitness pal for logging but I am a writer and like to jot down my plans, seeing it on paper seems to give me a bit more resolve!

Welcome Purple knickers. I personally ally would do my utmost to stay within 1200 for a night like you describe. I would have a light breakfast then no lunch to give me enough calories for a bit of pizza and a glass or two of wine. Planning is key when you only have 1200 to play with!

irishe · 04/09/2015 15:09

Hi purple . I have just joined the thread as well, hoping it gives me some inspiration to keep going! Well done on your weight loss.

Yes bath similar situation! Such a good feeling to shift that extra bit off and know that I am starting from scratch, so to speak. Good on you for getting back on track.

Purpleknickers · 04/09/2015 15:44

Thanks ladies as it happens my friend has to cancel as her little one is unwell so I can stick to 1200 now ... might include a glass of wine in that though as it's Friday

JontyDoggle37 · 04/09/2015 19:12

Hello all, we're nearly home from hols and tomorrow will be the dreaded weigh in. I can feel I've put weight on just dreading how much. Oh well, get back into routine and get it off again. Once I know weight tomorrow I'll decide on target for September. Holiday has been really lovely though so wouldn't have missed it for the world!

Bathsheba3 · 04/09/2015 20:02

Hi Jonty nice to have you back! Why not leave it until monday, and give yourself a few days to ditch the carbs and boost morale?

Pizza is evil. Hope you have a nice evening anyway purpleknickers

Emz449 · 04/09/2015 22:16

Welcome back Jonty Smile Glad you have had a nice holiday!

Today has been a fairly good day so I might weigh myself tomorrow morning, see what the damage is and take it on the chin, planning a goodish day tomorrow, i am not going to buy any multipacks of chocolate or crisps and stick to healthy, whole foods, fruit and veg etc. Need to do a shop on Sunday to stock up.

Out for dinner tomorrow night, friend wants to have drinks afterwards but i might aim to get the bus home, would rather save the money and the inevitable hangover if too many drinks are had! Will be having a healthy afternoon though, weetabix and banana for breakfast and chicken salad for lunch. Fruit for snacks! I'm feeling more in control now which is nice. I think i needed that week just to not think about dieting as it's all i have been doing since January bar the odd weekend.

Some events to aim for!

Work party on the 17th September - Could definitely shift a few pounds in that time (13 weigh ins)
19th September - Friends birthday night out and my sister coming to stay
10th October - Friends baby shower, will be seeing a lot of old work colleagues so would like to look my best!
Halloween - Seeing uni friends hopefully for bonfire night house party
27th November - Flying to Peru! Very, very excited for this already, i can't wait to see my boyfriend even though it's only been a few days. The 15 days are going to be intense though, we have planned a lot of tours, one which involves 16km hike in one day! I want to be as fit and slim as possible for this, it will also be our 3 year anniversary while i'm visiting him Smile

i hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

Right weigh in done and not as bad as I feared! Yes I've put on weight, but after a three week holiday I've only gained 3.25lbs, so not awful. So currently at 11st 10.75. As there's only 3.5 weeks left in September, I'm going to go for 2lns loss per week so 7lbs overall, hoping to hit 11st 3.25 on 1 October. Then Octobers mission will be to get well into the 10's, and innovember I WILL be hitting goal!!!!!

IMustEatMoreVeg · 05/09/2015 08:05

That is not too bad at all Jonty, hope you enjoyed your holiday!

Start weight in July 13 st 8
Current weight 12 st 2
Goal weight 11st
Might go for 10st once I get to my first goal. That would be lower than I have ever been as an adult and would give me a BMI of 20.7

My goal for September is 7lb.

Purpleknickers · 05/09/2015 09:05

Morning

Well I didn't have that glass of wine I thought if I open the bottle I might not stick to one so I'm quite proud of that as I'm a wine addict

Just off to a free excercise class it will probably kill me

Start weight 12stone 6lb (2 weeks ago)
Goal weight 11 stone but that may get adjusted lower if I'm up to it. Target by 9th October 11stone 6lb

There is in writing now so I'm committed

Emz449 · 05/09/2015 12:04

Morning! That's not too bad at all Jonty, must be a slight relief. I weighed in this morning at 11 stone 5, not too bad at all. 2lba from my lowest weight Smile

irishe · 05/09/2015 16:25

Afternoon all
Congrats jonty on putting on so little on a 3 week holiday, quite a result.
Must feel good emz to be so near your lowest weight.
I went 100 cals over my 1350 yesterday but hoping it will not matter. I really wanted that Friday night garlic bread! What is it about Friday nights and the the need for a treat? I have been more than 100cals under all week so not too worried.
First full week weigh in on Monday, so aim to be extra careful tonight and Sunday.

Bathsheba3 · 05/09/2015 20:01

And I was 11 11 this morning Jonty - so neck & neck again! Friendly support I'm not really into competition. I'll hijack your goal too if you don't mind. Greater chance I'll stick to it if it's not mine.

Irishe - I am over cals today too. Another day tomorrow
Purple - you'll be in the 11s soon - and it's good!
Emz - your overall weight loss is truly admirable

Cheers as I am settled on the sofa with strictly

Emz449 · 05/09/2015 23:40

ugh meal out was a complete disaster! the food was amazing, my IBS attack however, was not. My friends tried to get me drinking but it wasn't going to happen. I'm actually very irritated along with being in pain! It would have been such a nice night and good fun too. Instead i'm curled up in bed with casualty and feeling like my stomach is being twisted Sad

OP posts:
Purpleknickers · 06/09/2015 09:34

Ouch that sounds painful Emz what a shame your night out was ruined Sad

Good luck for your weigh in tomorrow irishe I'm no expert but I'm sure that extra 100 calories will not matter especially as you had some under days

Bathsheba3 & Jonty I weighed in this morning and I'm neck and neck with you both too it feels so good to be in the 11's

Week 2 done and still feeling very motivated let's see if it lasts

willbeslimagain · 06/09/2015 09:47

Morning all, have finally got back on the wagon after a few days of horrendous self sabotage. Not sure why I do it as was so happy to have lost nearly 5lbs in August. Still not weighing myself till mid/end next week as know I will be depressed! Only 7/8lbs from goal but I sometimes feel like I will never make it!

Welcome purple and irishe! Sounds like you are both doing well so keep it up!

Good news jonty too :)

Wedding in three weeks now and not seen most of these people since I was pregnant so determined to lose a few pounds and rock a bodycon dress (with spanx and I don't care if I can't breathe ;)

Have a good day all X

willbeslimagain · 06/09/2015 09:49

Sorry about the IBS Emz, I suffer too and it's excruciating. Buscopan is my best friend! Hope you feel better this morning Xx

JontyDoggle37 · 06/09/2015 10:06

Emz hope you're feeling better this morning
Bath and Purpleknickers the competition friendly support is on! I'm already 1lb down this morning after a light day yesterday, so now 11st 9.75lbs. Have a truly crappy migraine this morning so not sure how well diet will go today though. I get atypical migraines so half my face goes numb and I feel sick and dizzy, what a welcome home!

Emz449 · 06/09/2015 11:09

Thanks everyone Smile feeling a bit better today, just annoying really as I hadn't had an attack since I changed my eating habits in January. Obviously the week off healthy eating doesn't work for me, lesson learnt!

11 stone 4 this morning. One more pound to lowest weight so far and 4 lbs to the next stone bracket! Onwards and downwards Grin

irishe · 06/09/2015 11:33

Morning all
Sorry to hear about your ruined night emz. I used to get ibs a lot, was triggered by too much cheese, butter and carbs. Not so much now as not eating too much of that high fat food due to being on diet! Restaurant meals always a potential problem for me as they tend to be cooked with more fats which is my trigger.

Thanks for the welcome will. I like your determination to rock the body con dress! Not sure i have ever managed that.

Came in under cals for yesterday so aiming to do the same today, in anticipation of first weekly weigh in tomorrow.

JontyDoggle37 · 07/09/2015 08:07

Morning all! No loss today, but 1.7 mile run done and the migraine has left the building Grin. Ate a lot yesterday but that's typical for a migraine day so not much I can do about it, so back on track today and aiming for another 2lb loss by next Monday. Bath and Purpleknickers join me for a 'two pounds down' week?

Purpleknickers · 07/09/2015 08:44

Glad you are feeling better Emz

Will good luck with the dress you sound determined and that is half the battle

Jonty You're on I think it wil be a big challenge for me but I will give it my best shot Smile well done on the 1.7 mile run I hate running

Bathsheba3 · 07/09/2015 09:12

Hmmm .........

Purpleknickers · 07/09/2015 09:57
