Hi, I started on 1st Jan at 18st 10lbs and I have so much to lose, it would be lovely to share my journey with others who have over 6 stones to lose.

I know it's going to be a really long slog and I'll need help staying on the straight and narrow. I have to do it this year, no excuses!

So far I have lost 8.4lbs in first 11 days, but that seems tiny when I've got nearly nine stones to lose altogether. My goal is 10st.

Anyone out there? All buddies welcome Grin

Yes, it's Pizza Hut. I forgot about the salad bar! I'm thinking I may cancel actually, my willpower is fine at home, but maybe it's a bit soon for me to spend a few hours in carb central. I've already planned out my pizza toppings... Better stay home! Grin

Congrats on your weightloss blessedenough I must try and get into bpcs!

ProfYaffle · 06/06/2015 09:37

I have to admit that the Pizza Hut day was probably the low point of my low carb journey!

blessedenough · 06/06/2015 10:44

I was at pizza hut a few weeks ago and I had deep fried camembert and chicken wings both from the starter menu with lots of salad, it was ok. I had a dress that I desperately wanted to fit into ( I didn't, still too tight on tum) so I was able to swerve the pizza but not the half bottle of white I washed it down with!! In my defence I was on holiday.

Just back from body pump where I upped my weights and oh my I am going to hurt, in fact my biceps are protesting already.

The household has some form of fluey thing and I think I am coming down with it, so we are all having a lazy day watching films and we might do a little walk so we can say we went out at some point!

ProfYaffle · 06/06/2015 10:54

Is there a possibility of changing the venue? Pizza Express have salads which are OK if you leave the dough sticks etc.

GatoradeMeBitch · 06/06/2015 12:33

Nope, my brain is firmly set on pizza (though I do like deep fried camembert) best to avoid. I know how I am on diets by now, I'll convince myself I can get away with one meal and then I'll be throwing the towel in on Monday so I can sneak off to the bakery at the end of our road!

Eggs for breakfast, salmon salad for lunch, fried halloumi with veg for dinner.

blessedenough · 06/06/2015 19:05

That's what I would do Gator! Then I become a total sugar monster and eat my own body weight for the stuff!

ProfYaffle · 07/06/2015 14:20

Just back from a lovely lunch at our local. I noticed with relief that their usual 'lite' mayo had been replaced with full fat. We got chatting to the landlandy and she's started on Atkins! Grin

blessedenough · 08/06/2015 15:46

Feeling rotten here, I have my hubbys lurgy. I have only managed 2 bpcs and I don't think I can face dinner - I am off to bed as soon as hubby gets in. Uuurrgghh. Hope everyone is having a better day

ProfYaffle · 09/06/2015 06:57

Sorry to hear you're under the weather Blessed - hope you're feeling better soon.

I've decided to give the fat fast a go though I'm struggling to work out the % fat in particular food combinations. 3 days in a row feels a bit daunting at the moment!

blessedenough · 09/06/2015 08:58

It gets worse I have some sort of stomach bug and spent all night on the loo, atleast I should have a good loss next week, I cant even keep water down.

When I did my accidential fat fast I had 3 bpcs a day and a small fatty meal - mince with cheese. I think the idea is to have aprox 1000kcal and keep carbs really really low to get yourself into deep ketosis - google it Atkins wrote about it and there are loads of sites. Let me know how you get on.

ProfYaffle · 09/06/2015 09:29

Oh no Blessed, stomach bugs are the worst. Hopefully it'll be out of your system soon.

Re the fat fast, I've tied myself up in knots by reading too much about it! My plan is similar to yours but with packets of pork scratchings instead of bpc (still can't face the thought of buttery coffee!) I normally love pork scratchings so I'm hoping I'm not going to put myself off by having loads in the next few days.

LetMeBeLight · 09/06/2015 14:38

Oh blessed you poor thing. I remember practically sobbing on the bathroom floor last stomach bug I had, you always forget just how bad they are until they hit. It's really shitty not even being able to drink. Hope you feel better soon.

blessedenough · 09/06/2015 15:14

Feeling a bit better now. Mil collected DS and I bribed DD with lots of kids tv to let me have a lie down - awful mother alert!!

I have washed all the sicky bedding, scrubbed the carpet where student threw upon it and cleaner has taken care of rest - thankfully tues are her day here.

I have had some veg stock and a couple of glasses of water and so far so good. Just need a good nights sleep now.

Prof fat fast sounds great - good luck.

ProfYaffle · 09/06/2015 16:51

Oh Lordy, that sounds like a nightmare! Hope you have a restful night tonight.

blessedenough · 10/06/2015 07:50

Morning all, I am feeling so much better today, luckily bug went as quickly as it came on. A good nights sleep has sorted me out.

Will be taking DS swimming today and I need to make some wilting green soup, I am thinking thai flavours, umm.

I had a sneaky weigh in and I haven't lost a pound! Oh well onwards and downwards!

Have a great day everyone

ProfYaffle · 10/06/2015 10:58

Glad you're feeling better - bummer about the weight though!

Fat fast is going OK so far though I did get quite hungry and grumpy about 4pm yesterday, felt OK after my small, fatty meal though. It's the psychology of knowing I won't have a proper meal til Friday that I'm finding tough.

ProfYaffle · 11/06/2015 06:56

My last day of fat fast. I'm not feeling 'tummy hungry' but I am really quite tired and lethargic. I had a sneaky weigh this morning and I'm 11st 13lb, a loss of almost 3lbs since I weighed on Monday. This puts me under 12st for the first time in God knows how long plus firmly in 'overweight' rather than 'obese'. However, I've read that lots of people put back on what they lose in ff fairly quickly so weighing on Monday after a 'normal' weekend will be acid test I think.

God I can't wait for breakfast tomorrow

blessedenough · 11/06/2015 08:22

Wow well done Prof - I also felt very tired and lethargic but I put it down to stress. Hopefully you wont put any back on. Maybe try and stay clear of dairy and caffeine for a bit as these can cause stalls - no idea really!!

I made some lovely stock from a chicken carcass and then totally ruined it! I made a broccoli thai soup but I didn't have my usual thai paste and used randang paste instead - wont be doing that again!

Yesterday was good food wise and my tummy is better but I did feel very drained by the end of the day and I must have drunk about 6 litres of water as I have been rehydrating.

I am about to pop a gammon in the slow cooker and we will have it tonight with broccoli and cauli cheese.

I might go for a run tonight, I need to start road running as so far I have only done my running on a treadmill and I have 6 weeks until my 5k. eekk.

Have a great day everyone sbc

ProfYaffle · 11/06/2015 09:25

I've just noticed we're not far off 1,000 posts - new thread needed soon!

LetMeBeLight · 11/06/2015 09:55

Wow, that's amazing Prof. Well done you for being so disciplined.

And blessed, see how you feel re running later - you've barely stopped throwing up!! Always takes a good few days - a week to feel properly better after a bug like that, so see how you feel. You don't want to end up ill again!

I've not been very good or bad this week, just plodding along really. Could have done better on some of my choices, but nothing really major. I need to get strict like prof! Thinking of doing another booze free spell...

flameprincess · 11/06/2015 10:35

Morning ladies. I was a member of this thread at the start then fell off the wagon and didn't return out of shame (until now).

A family member of mine died a month ago. He was 21 years old and 25 stone...... stopped breathing in his sleep. The shock and grief led me to drop from 21stone to 19stone in a fortnight :(

Never have I ever been more motivated to lose weight. I haven't lost that two stone healthily though and I think my body has gone into shock. Two weeks have gone by on healthy eating (I am forcing myself to eat because I am still grieving and food is an effort) and I haven't lost so much as another ounce.

LetMeBeLight · 11/06/2015 10:52

Very sorry to hear of your loss flameprincess. It's a reminder for us all why we're doing this. We're glad to have you back here anyway, you are most welcome.

I wouldn't worry about the lack of loss in the last couple of weeks. If you have lost 2 stone in a fortnight and not been eating properly, I think you're quite right in saying your body has gone into shock! Part of that two stone may have been water weight, your body might be thinking "WTF" as you're reintroducing regular (healthy) food after not eating regularly etc etc.

It's going to take a little while for your body to adjust again, so just keep going, it WILL come off if you stick to regular, sensible meals and exercise.

We often find people in this thread don't have a loss for a week or two, then boom, 4 pounds comes off overnight, so just keep the faith.

blessedenough · 11/06/2015 19:27

Welcome back Flame - so sorry for your loss that must have been an awful shock, such a young person.

Give your body a chance to catch up, you have had a terrible shock.
Your mental state and body are strongly linked. Give it some time and take care of yourself in the mean time. x

ProfYaffle · 11/06/2015 20:15

Oh Flame, how tragic.

As everyone else said, just take it easy for now, don't beat yourself up. You're still 2 stone down and when you're back on an even keel I'm sure your body will settle down to a more usual weight loss pattern.

flameprincess · 11/06/2015 23:20

I think you are right about the water weight thing. I have been so so dehydrated. One thing that scared me is that he hadn't been to a doctor in over 3 years and we are still waiting for test results for a cause of death (though his weight made him stop breathing sometimes in his sleep and the shock would wake him but still he wouldn't see a doctor). I wasn't even registered with a GP (moved a few years back) so this spurred me to go sort it out and have a medical. Was almost scared they were going to tell me I had diabetes as I'd been drinking so much water but thankfully all is well so far and my blood pressure etc all fine.

I must use this as a wake up call, I want to live as long as I can and the weight not hold me back. I'm 28 and my knees hurt so much when I've been on my feet all day - I hope this eases as the weight comes off, I feel like an old woman.

I've been reading over the thread on the posts I've missed, you're all doing so well. I need to stay this time and be honest when I've lost motivation.... though I think if this untimely death in my family isn't enough of a shock to spur me then nothing is.
