Hi, I started on 1st Jan at 18st 10lbs and I have so much to lose, it would be lovely to share my journey with others who have over 6 stones to lose.

I know it's going to be a really long slog and I'll need help staying on the straight and narrow. I have to do it this year, no excuses!

So far I have lost 8.4lbs in first 11 days, but that seems tiny when I've got nearly nine stones to lose altogether. My goal is 10st.

Anyone out there? All buddies welcome Grin

I vote for the shred! My rough plan was to start with running and then add in shred on days i dont go to the gym - hasnt happened yet! My excuses are as follows -i want to be fully keto adapted first, 2, i dont want to push my body too far too fast, 3, been ill and on holiday

BUT my race for life thing is fast approaching so i need to just f==king do it!!

Could use a shred buddy if your ankle will hold up? Swimming 10k is def the hardest challenge - go you, that would be impressive!

I have just had a lovely dinner Lidl peri peri spatchcock chicken - comes with its own oven tray so less washing up. I chucked some in some courgettes and peppers and served with salad, easy and yum. 1.6g carbs per 125g.

Macloveswill · 12/05/2015 07:10

Thanks guys, I know it's coming off, I just get a bit frustrated when it goes so slowly. Encouragingly though, I've lost another 1.3lbs this morning. Takes me to exactly 40lbs off (2st 12lbs) and now weigh 15st 12.6lbs.

I agree Blessed, I'd have probably given up without this thread. I think we've all hit a few brick walls lately and the KOKO motto sums it up; that's all we can do and it will come off as long as we don't give up.

Not sure I'm capable of the shred challenge yet, but I might give it a go just to try and shake things up a bit. When are you thinking of starting?

OP posts:
blessedenough · 12/05/2015 10:19

Was thinking of starting 3 days ago but realistically it will be next week now but might have a bash this weekend. Mac at my heaviest i did shred, it is a killer but i am not expecting it to be any easier now i am a couple of stone down. On the plus side it is over before you know it, i just get to the point where i think i cant do this any more and its the last circuit. Dont try yoga meltdown however i had to switch that off after 8 mins, nearly did me in!

Just back from the dentist and for the first time ever they didnt need to scrape the plaque from me teeth, so this low sugar diet is having a positive affect on my teeth.

Cleaner here so i am hiding in my bedroom, will be having BPC as soon as she goes, starving! Good luck everyone

Macloveswill · 12/05/2015 12:09

Ooh you've just reminded me about BPC...I just fancy one and haven't had one in ages. Thanks Blessed! Grin

Maybe I will give the shred a go on Monday then. I'm just back from body balance class. No swim today, as I've got a bit of a sore throat.

S B C ??

Oh and lol at hiding from the cleaner. I do that when the window cleaner comes...hopping from room to room like a loon Blush

LetMeBeLight · 12/05/2015 17:06

Afternoon all.

Apologies blessed, I meant to wish you congratulations on the house yesterday. All the packing will be great exercise for you all well!

I'm up for a shred challenge. I like the idea of my swim 10k challenge, so will probably do that as well, but maybe over a greater period of time - as much as the mind is willing, I'm not sure the body could cope with daily dog walks, shredding and 12.5 lengths!

So, Monday it is then ladies?!

Macloveswill · 12/05/2015 18:47

Ooh go on then Grin

OP posts:
LetMeBeLight · 13/05/2015 16:22

haha have we all gone quiet after agreeing to shred?!

It's a lovely sunny day here in London. The sunnier weather is definitely easier on the diet I find - we tend to eat salad and bbq'd meat for supper every evening when the weather is good.

I think we have rain forecast for tomorrow though, so probably getting ahead of myself there!

blessedenough · 13/05/2015 18:45

Right i am in, i WILL start on friday - my mum will be here then and she could do with a good laugh!! Also i will be over this lergy by then.

I havent had enough water and i have a banging headache - that will teach me! Just drinking loads now.

Had yummy chicken wings from M&S for lunch and a BPC for breakfast. I will fast again tomorrow, i have a busy day so that should keep my mind off of food. Will be seeing a skinny friend and will have to duck the cake she always offers.

We are further south and had a lush day weather wise, dieting is always easier in the sun.

Spent today chasing solicitor and surveyor, its nerve racking as i dont want to pay for anything until our buyers and the people we are buying from do theirs as i dont want anyone to pull out and be left out of pocket -eekk.

Need to put a freecycle plea out for moving boxes.

ProfYaffle · 14/05/2015 07:43

Fabulous weather down here too, I've spent 2 days digging on the allotment and can barely move now. I sincerely hope it's as good exercise wise as Kettlebells because I sure don't have the energy for both! Good luck with the Shred you lot.

I'm slowly re-discovering my size 16 clothes but am in some sort of weird size limbo. My 18 jeans are literally falling off so I can't wear them any more but the 2 pairs of 16s I've ordered kind of fit but look all weird and lumpy on me Confused As a result I'm living in leggings or some 16 cropped trousers that feel quite roomy Confused Confused

Fingers crossed everything goes through smoothly Blessed.

blessedenough · 14/05/2015 20:20

Had my dinner the mo hubby stepped thru the door, this fasting lark was hard today - i have mainly spent the day thinking about all the fatty things i was going to melt cheese over tomorrow!

Up until 12 it was torture, then i met up with friend and strong coffee helped.

Dinner was finally 2 roasted chicken thighs, broccoli and a dribble of gravy - best meal EVER! I have since had a tiny bit of cheese and more coffee but feeling nicely full.

No exercise today as i am gearing myself up for the shred -bring it on - will report back tom! Then its all of yours, turns!

blessedenough · 15/05/2015 11:12

30 day shred done!!! - your turn!

Wow it was hard but i feel amazing now, i think i will ache tomorrow but i am feeling very smug. I did the easy variations of the exercises but i did it thats the main bit. The time did fly, half way through i thought i couldnt do it and then it was the last circuit.

I felt great at breakfast not as starving as i thought, so i just had a BPC for breakfast.

Will be starting the great declutter today, in prep for moving. yay. Have a good friday everyone

2lbs lighter this morning so 13st 7lbs - 1st off of my wedding weight. Just need to shift a few more pounds as i have been messing about and have been losing and gaining the same couple of pounds.

Green smoothie for lunch and then steak and something for dinner -no wine this weekend.

ProfYaffle · 17/05/2015 08:18

How's everyone's weekend going? More allotment digging for us, I am in so much pain! Nearly done though so hopefully I've dodged a 'not worked' notice from the committee (oh the politics of allotmenteering.)

In other news, dd1's friend has moved in round the corner from us and yesterday dd1 (11) went out on her own to meet her friend and play on the park. First time ever she's done it - so nerve wracking! She made it home in one piece, absolutely thrilled to bits with herself and I didn't even have wine to steady my nerves Grin

blessedenough · 18/05/2015 08:58

Well done prof - allotment digging has to burn off tonnes of calories esp if you are so sore now.

I didnt shred the rest of the weekend - mucho busy starting to pack up house and i have stupidly bought some wallpaper for new house - it better all go through now! Also i was very sore!

I was good food wise, i think i am slightly over on my carbs - i put them into my MFP and its 49g. I wil log my food for a few days and see how i get on.

I drank 3 glasses of red wine last night, so now my weight loss will stall this week. However i have lost 4lbs this week.

Have a good week everyone

LetMeBeLight · 18/05/2015 12:08

Morning all. Gosh I'm tired and achey. Had the hen do at the weekend, which I think was actually quite good diet/exercise wise. I was very restrained on the food front, moderately restrained on the booze front (had a few drinks but switched to water as soon as I felt tipsy).

Ended up doing a fair amount of exercise - the murder mystery/treasure hunt involved about 2-3 hours walking around solving clues and then there was an assault course in the afternoon. Add in 8 hours of driving and I'm spent!

Managed to walk the dog this morning (got soaked) and get into the office, but can I have a pass from shredding tonight if I promise to do it tomorrow?! The assault course we did was definitely at least the equivalent to a shredding session!

All I want to do this evening is have a hot bath and an early night!

Hope packing is going ok blessed, and well done on the 4lb loss - that's amazing in a week. And hope you recover from all your digging prof - I certainly sympathise on being sore/achey!

ProfYaffle · 18/05/2015 14:44

Blessed - you may be Ok with the wine/weight loss. I find that so long as I stick to wine it doesn't really affect me.

Did you actually enjoy the hen do in the end Letme? What happened with all the outfits you 'needed'?

Back to kettlebells for me today, quite a relief after all the digging Grin Next weekend dh has decreed that we're staying with pil again, but this time for 2 nights I know last time was OK in the end but I'm nervous again. Had a sneaky suspicion that mil was biting her tongue over the last visit plus we're staying longer this time so more opportunity for her to get a bit worked up over cooking for me. What a delightful bank holiday weekend

LetMeBeLight · 19/05/2015 08:19

Morning all. Yes, the hen was actually good fun Prof.

I'm feeling much better after a good nights sleep, suppose that means I'm shredding this evening!!

Macloveswill · 19/05/2015 09:26

Hey all....you all sound like you're doing brilliantly. Well done!

Me not so much at the mo Hmm I've had throat infection that I just can't seem to shift, so not walked or swam or shredded. Feeling very lethargic and woe is me! I have a big family wedding this weekend that we have to travel for and I'm now a bit worried that I won't be up for it healthwise and that my dress felt a bit tight the other day when I tried it on.

I really need to get my mojo back! Help!! I've not lost anymore weight, but not put on any either. Really think I need some kind of boost.

Sorry to sound such a moaning Minnie. Hope you're all having a better week than me Grin

OP posts:
LetMeBeLight · 19/05/2015 15:03

Maybe I was a bit misleading as I certainly haven't been doing brilliantly!!

I was fairly pleased with the hen do because there was loads of nice (naughty) foods and plenty of booze and I was moderately restrained eg had a burger for dinner but avoided cheese and desserts, had about 3 glasses of wine and a cocktail, but switched to water when I started to feel tipsy.

It was more a damage limitation exercise than actually being good!

And generally I haven't been brilliant lately, distinct lack of exercise other than the dog walks and a few baguettes have crept in at lunch time. I've not been ill, but just felt a bit tired lately, like I could do with a break.

I very much need to get motivated and be a lot stricter with this WOE.

If I were you Mac, I would take it easy for this rest of this week, focus of getting yourself well, enjoy the wedding. Then get back on it with a vengeance next week. I'll be on hand to pep talk if required, as I definitely need to get back on it too!

Macloveswill · 19/05/2015 17:54

Thanks Letme...all pep talks very welcome! I need to be kicked, but maybe you're right about leaving it this week. Two steps forward and three back don't seem to be getting me anywhere Wink

OP posts:
blessedenough · 21/05/2015 08:02

Mac - if you want a little weightloss boost whilst you cant exercise as much i would suggest cutting diary for a couple of days, it always gives me great results.

I have been KOKO, i have mostly shifted my lergy and i was feeling very stressed about the house sale so i went running last night and it was amazing. I ran really fast (for me) and whilst i only did short bursts i did more of them than normal. Then i lifted my weights and did all my core stuff.

Have been rubbish on the shred front however but i have signed up for body pump this weekend.

Good luck everyone sbc

LetMeBeLight · 21/05/2015 11:47

That sounds great blessed, well done you. I always think that exercise is great for mentality, good stress reliever etc. You must be getting tons of exercise with all the moving stuff as well!

I'm creeping back into good habits, longer dog walks for the last couple of days, healthy dinner (chicken kebabs and salad) last night and am going to shred tonight while OH goes running with the dog after work.

It's what we do in the main that counts, so a blip here or there isn't going to much any difference in the long term. SBC!

Macloveswill · 21/05/2015 13:27

Well done Blessed and Letme...impressed with your exercise motivation. I've been to two body balance classes this week and that's it. Good idea about the dairy Blessed and I may do that next week, but dairy is comfort food for me for now in the absence of sugar Smile

DD's gone for a taster day at her new school today (starts properly on 1st June) and she went in without any leg clinging or tears, so very pleased. Then coffee with a lovely friend, so not much work getting done today. And we leave for the wedding tomorrow afternoon, so really I've started holiday mode already. I tried the frock on yesterday and it looks good....I think the zip will hold (just!)

Have a great weekend all. I will be back on Monday for some shred inspiration and getting a bit stricter with my food, esp dairy consumption.

SBC indeed!!!

blessedenough · 21/05/2015 17:12

Have a fab wedding weekend Mac - i am sure you will rock the dress. So pleased for your daughter, hope she had a great day.

Letme - i never understood the exercise being a good bit of me time and stress relieving but i totally get it, i think i must be sufficiently stressed and lacking in me time now with 2 kids!!

I like the slowly slipping into good habits - i must have been doing it wrong as i have spent my life slowly slipping into bad ones!! Its a good way of describing LC-ing - i bought some white wine for the weekend and bought the driest one i could find - so thats progress i usually drink asti at the May bank holiday and that is not LC in the slightest.

I had my first have you lost weight! 2 in fact one from friend - who could have just being nice as she knows i am always on a diet but second one from her hubby who i usually dont see- so def genuine. Yay!

I was supposed to fast today but i didnt have it in me - so breakfast was pepperoni with cheese, mayo and chillis. Lunch was bacon and cabbage soup with cream and dinner will be rocket salad with prosciutto wrapped chicken.

I have started drinking my coffee black as i am trying to reduce dairy and each coffee was 200 cals!!! so that might explain why weight loss was slow.

Macloveswill · 21/05/2015 18:51

Thanks Blessed....I'm really going to try to rock the frock!

Congrats on the shrinking compliment! Feels good, eh?!!??
