This is it I really need to get fit and slim down this year, my son is getting faster all the time and I feel like I'm letting him down being overweight as I can't keep up.

I've done slimming clubs (WW and SS) in the past and really like the support but I've always drifted off after a bad week or two and begun making excuses not to go. There's no way I'm giving up mumsnet and I find it easier to be brutally honest online so would anyone like to join me for support, tip sharing and the all important weekly weigh in?

I'm starting on Monday 5th as I find it easier to be distracted from food when I'm at work and will have finished the Xmas chocs by then and will be using MFP and my shiny new fitbit to track but anything goes on this thread it's all about the support!

Hopefully someone will come keep me company Xmas Grin

Well I set myself a goal of 30 mind exercise per day, mainly walking. However we've had a bad run of weather including rain, very strong winds and snow. In fact I've been snowed in for the past 3 days!!
I don't have any exercise dad's and not sure when I'd find the time to do them - I have a 4 month old so pushing her in the pram would be ideal. So roll on better weather conditions please!!

Have slightly got out of routine here, but weighed myself this morning and 4lbs less than the last time Smile

Now I need to keep going because this is where I stalled before Christmas. I am usually queen of self-sabotage, but I really want a stone off by Easter. that would put me at a healthy weight for my height, for the first time since I was at school (a good 25 plus years ago).

I did a sneaky weigh in this morning even though weigh in day is tomorrow, I was 10st exactly and I had really hoped to be under 10st by Monday weigh in. So I took the dog for a long walk to see if I can get under 10st by tomorrow but now I've ruined it by eating the skin off the roast chicken!!! Angry

Gah! Still 10st 0lb I really wanted to be at least 9st 13lb!!!! Still that's 11lb since Jan 1st but weight loss is slowing down I think I've got to the hard to shift weight bit now!

Can I join ladies? Signed up to WW online last night. Starting weight is 15.10 want to get down to 11stone. Had LO 18months ago, and have had a pretty tough rude, but this is the year things are going to improve!!

I've lost another 2 lbs, whoop!

So I'm now 11.1 - have told myself I want to go into February less than 11 stone so I just need to lose another 2 lb this week!

I have managed a tiny loss of 2lbs since the 15th. so now 11 st 6lbs.

Still...its the direction of travel that's important!

I'm using MY and I must say it is really helping. Just makes me think twice before eating something and helps me avoid those things that are pretty unhealthy but which I'd never really thought about before (ie. super noodles which I knew were fairly bad but I hadn't realised just how much fat & salt they contained!!?! - I used to just have them for a quick & easy lunch; not any more!!)

Hi all, long time no see! Hope everyone is getting on well? I had a shitty incident that really knocked my confidence and I've basically spent all my time either at home or work and have been eating appallingly...I've really let myself down and have been ashamed to come back whilst everyone is doing so well and I've put what I lost back on and more.

Basically, I work several jobs and one night a week I have 15mins to eat dinner inbetween work...the most convenient place by far, is Mcdonalds. I went in and ordered my food (not that it actually matters but I ordered a grilled chicken salad wrap, fruit bag and carrot sticks so not exactly sitting there gorging myself!) plan was to eat in but there was a group of late teens who as soon as I walked in, began the laughing and comments so I chose to take away...I felt something hit my back as I walked out and heard someone shouting at them but I just walked out with my head high whilst literally dying inside

When you come out of this mcdonalds you can either walk down the main road or a side road that runs parallel to it so is v quiet...I chose the side road so I could see what was on my coat...a pot of sauce as it turns out...I then heard them behind me, calling me every fat related name under the sun....then one yelled "feed the hippo!" And they threw a milkshake at me and chips.

It was awful...they were at least 10y younger then me and yet I couldn't stand up to them because I didn't have the confidence to...but they don't know me, they know nothing about me yet I disgusted them enough that they threw food at me...I was devastated....still am to a point but I'm hoping that I can begin afresh on Monday.

I haven't actually told anyone what happened....I don't want to admit it to anyone.

Monday weigh in - 11stone; that's another 1 lb lost Smile

And that's with zero exercise (we've been snowed in again!) and giving in to the temptation of both crisps & choolate yesterday (oops!)

Anyway I reached my target of getting down to 11 stone by February so am very pleased.
Next goal to work towards is to be 10 stone 10 lbs by March.

How is everyone else doing?

Oh my word, just seen your message lego!! (sorry didn't read through the thread initially).

That sounds awful - hope you're ok.
Just sounds like a bunch of kids with nothing better to do; ignore them.
Onwards & upwards I say! Fresh start for Monday - be nice to yourself.

Oh lego that is just horrible behaviour. I totally understand getting intimidated by a gang of even quite young kids like that - be kind to yourself, they (or their parents) are at fault, not you.

I've had a week of not eating well but have maintained the same weight. DD had her last hospital admission today so hopefully some normality will return and I can find some space in my head to menu plan.

Am pleased with my weight loss so far though the last 3 days have been bad!! For some reason - maybe stress, maybe the cold weather, maybe as a little reward to myself - I've indulged in chocolate, crisps, & ice cream! Then the MIL visited and bought homemade chocolate cake!!
I'm tracking calories on MFP and over the past 3 days I've eaten 500, 300 & 800 calories more than I should!!!! Shock

Feel pretty ashamed & annoyed with myself after all my good work Sad

Though I guess I'll just have to see it as 3 bad days and start a fresh from tomorrow...

Nearly a stone gone!!!

Am really pleased with myself and quite surprised as I haven't been exercising at all partly due to the weather (we had lots of snow!), illness (had a rubbish cold), and a bad back!
Hoping to get back on track from today though as the sun is shining and I've got supplies of ibuprofen to get me through the day so will be going for a nice long walk pushing my DD in the pram to burn some calories!

Eating wise I've generally been doing ok though have had some bad days involving cake!! But am finding MFP a big help to keep me in check!

How is everyone else doing?

Hi everyone I hope you're all still doing well. I'm still pregnant - 10 days till 12 week scan so fingers crossed all is well. Still really sick abut unfortunately because I'm having to graze constantly it's not giving me as rapid weight loss. Still slowly coming off, I'm 16.13 now so that's 11lb off.

lego that is truly awful you shouldn't feel ashamed about the behaviour of those vermin just remember you're working on making things better and they are nothing.
