Anyone aiming for 10stone?

HeyBungalowBill · 12/05/2014 22:57

Hello!
I'm looking for someone to kind of compete (in a friendly way) to get to 10 stone.
Me and a friend once decided that neither of us would eat any chocolate, biscuits, cake etc and kind of competed and I did well at it but he crumbled!

Anyway about me:
I'm 5 foot 4
11st 6
Size 10-12 on top
12-14 on bottom

Planning on running and a bit of strength training for my exercise, I think diet will be the hard part.

If you think you'd like to pair up or form a group to lose weight together that'd be great Smile

Frankie- just put those days behind you and start again now- how much have you lost so far?

Whatutalkinboutwillis · 09/07/2014 21:53

Why is the last few pounds so hard?? Trying to remind myself I have lost 21.5 lbs I can do these last 3.5lbs!!!!!

breward · 09/07/2014 22:10

Had a few days of friend staying, meals out and a BBQ (hog roast-yum!). I was still 9st 11 this morning and walked home (40 minutes) from the BBQ.

Weight loss challenge... Other staff lost 1lb, and 2 members actually put on weight. So second place at the moment wins £20 for losing 2lbs! They could have lost that in 2 days not 9 weeks! One more weigh in tomorrow and results on Friday.

breward · 09/07/2014 22:12

Willis, you have done brilliantly. Keep going and get to 10st. You are right, the last few pounds are the hardest, but it will be worth it.

frankie5 · 09/07/2014 22:29

Bezzabelle - I've lost half a stone, I'm 10s4 now so just got a few more pounds to go but finding it so hard to shift. I made a soup today, so after a bad morning all I've had to eat for the rest of the day is soup and fruit (and a few scraps of chicken from the DC's left overs!).

Breward - I agree that the last few pounds are hard. I am also 5'7 but would be very happy to be 10s. You have done so well to get to 9s11. I can't remember the last time I was 9s something - probably about 20 years ago!

Bezzabelle · 10/07/2014 15:34

For all you walkers- have you got mapmywalk app? Pretty good to keep you focused!

breward · 11/07/2014 17:44

I won the weight- loss challenge by a country mile. 2nd place lost 5.4lbs, 3rd place lost 2lbs... In 9 weeks! 2 people put on weight!!

Well I feel better, look better and I'm financially richer, so I'm a happy bunny. Grin My boss is being nice to me too. Only one week left before I leave my job. I have the summer off, before starting my new job in Sept. Hopefully I will be 9st 7 then and stick at it.

20th wedding anniversary in 2 weeks and off to NY. Hopefully I won't put loads of weight on.

How you all doing ladies?

Bezzabelle · 11/07/2014 19:33

Well done breward! Did you win much? I can't believe people put on weight- did they seem bothered?

All good here- weigh in day tomor and hoping to be 10st 11. I feel much better in clothes already.

breward · 12/07/2014 08:01

£80

I think people gave up, lost the will power etc. Just look at how many of us who joined this thread 8 weeks ago are still with it. A couple of bad days, and people fall off the diet wagon.

Well done for staying on, and keep with it!

Bezzabelle · 12/07/2014 08:38

It's a shame isn't it as so many people start with the best intentions and then, like you say, either have a bad day or don't see immediate results so give up.

10st 11 today- yippee!! Heading in right direction for my mini goal of 10st 7 in 2 weeks time for ds1 birthday.

Danceasifnooneswatching · 12/07/2014 09:05

Well done everyone... I lost 1lb this week that's half a stone in 3 weeks Grin.
Things are starting to creep back in though, the odd pack of crisps and the mid week wineShockShock
I need to get back the motivation!! I need to up the exercise and eat less.
I WILL be 10 stone again.

frankie5 · 12/07/2014 18:23

Well done everyone! Ok I am back on the thread! Still 10s4 so haven't put any weight on but a difficult day today - been out for lunch and going to friends house tonight for Chinese take away! My problem is that I have such a lack of energy mid afternoon, and snacking keeps me awake. But I am still in the right frame of mind and only 2 weeks til my holiday so I can hopefully get a pound off over the next week or so.

Bezzabelle · 13/07/2014 07:47

You can do it frankie!

Well had a children's party yesterday afternoon where they also did a BBQ for the adults- only had a hot dog and a few picky bits but did eat more than I wanted so didn't eat any dinner last night and will reign it in today and try to do a long walk today. Also going for lunch tomor for mums birthday so plan to just have a bowl of cereal for dinner tomor for damage limitation. I can see how all these events if you didn't do a bit of damage limitation would quickly show on the scales and then you would give up. So it's a balance between making sure you still join in celebrations etc where food is involved so life isn't boring but not going mad and also making up for it in being sensible in rest of meals and staying active!

breward · 13/07/2014 09:30

Bezza, your week sounds like mine. I've had hog roasts, meals out, drinks evenings etc all last week except for one night. I've tried to walk to these events where possible (usually 40 minutes) and stick to eating sensibly. Friends who had been staying with us for the Tour de France, took us out for a carvary. I could see the calories in the 2000s in everyone's plates, so I knew I had to sensible and tough. I had the vegetarian option, which was lovely, no roast potatoes or giant Yorkshire pudding or stuffing. I had a lovely meal with lovely veg... Not piled high! I then walked home with a couple of the others and enjoyed a lovely chat!

It can be done! 9st 10 today Grin

frankie5 · 13/07/2014 11:43

Thank you Bezzabelle.
Breward - Unlike you, I showed no self restraint last night - there was so much lovely food and everyone was tucking in. I really regret it. I weighed myself this morning and I have put on 2 pounds!!

Today I have had a yoghurt with an apple chopped up in it for breakfast and I am going to try to mainly eat fruit and veg today to make up for yesterday! Hopefully it won't now take me weeks to loose the 2 pounds I have put on.

Whatutalkinboutwillis · 13/07/2014 14:56

Pound off this week so 2.5 to go until I hit 10 stone! Well done on the losses this week

Bezzabelle · 14/07/2014 21:04

Went out for pub lunch today but walked the 30 mins there and back and chose something off the light lunch menu. Had cereal for tea and did a 50 min pram walk this evening so allowed myself to enjoy my lunch without feeling guilty! Want to see 10st 9 this sat on the scales!

How's everyone doing?

Parsley1234 · 15/07/2014 18:28

Am back from holiday haven't weighed as wanted to get a few days back at gym and period is here am really cutting down carbs and filling up on protein six weeks until holiday am determined to be 10 st.

Bezzabelle · 17/07/2014 06:51

Has everyone given up?!

breward · 17/07/2014 07:00

9st 11 for me. 1lb on, but then I had a lovely surprise cream tea with all my colleagues past and present and family yesterday. Lots of cake too this week. Still exercising, it is the food that is letting me down!

frankie5 · 17/07/2014 21:00

Hi everyone, I'm still here. Glad to see you're still on track.

Had a good day today, just had three healthy(ish) meals and no snacks at all! I'm going to wait a few days til I weigh myself as I am very bloated at the moment (due on).

Bezzabelle · 17/07/2014 21:28

I weighed this morning and still 10st 11 so nothing off so far this week and def won't be 10st 9 by sat. Never mind- will keep at it. This time 9 weeks ago, I was 12st 9 so it was always going to slow down. I walked 7k this afternoon in the blazing sun! Can't cut calories anymore than I already am as found it affects my milk supply. Will aim for 10st 10 now for sat. Must not give up if nothing comes off though this week.....

Keep going ladies!

Whatutalkinboutwillis · 17/07/2014 21:42

Bezza that's an amazing loss in 9 weeks well done. I have my last weigh in on sat before my holidays. Have got 2.5 lbs to go to hit the magic 10 stone but don't think I will do it for sat. My losses have really slowed down in the past few weeks but it would be so good to get my target before holiday.

Bezzabelle · 19/07/2014 09:33

10st 10 today so only 1lb off this week but better than nothing I suppose!

Will aim for 10st 8 next sat but going out for a meal on thurs night to favourite restaurant and am not planning on eating salad so will have to be extra good the day before and day after and get some good walks in this week. Next weekend is ds1's birthday so having party, then BBQ so will have to rein it in week after for sure. Ah well, ds2 is only 9 weeks old so have to remind myself I am doing ok!

How's everyone else getting on?

breward · 19/07/2014 09:55

Left work yesterday after spending the day picnicking and playing games in the country park with my lovely class of children and their parents.

It has been an emotional week, but i had a lovely send off. Staff organised a surprise leavers' lunch on Thursday for the 4 staff leaving. I did succumb to the quiche, crisps and banoffee pie!

9st 11 today.
