Anyone aiming for 10stone?

Hello!
I'm looking for someone to kind of compete (in a friendly way) to get to 10 stone.
Me and a friend once decided that neither of us would eat any chocolate, biscuits, cake etc and kind of competed and I did well at it but he crumbled!

Anyway about me:
I'm 5 foot 4
11st 6
Size 10-12 on top
12-14 on bottom

Planning on running and a bit of strength training for my exercise, I think diet will be the hard part.

If you think you'd like to pair up or form a group to lose weight together that'd be great Smile

Hello new joiners Smile
Lets get cracking!!

I'm doing well on the exercise front but I seriously need to sit down and write a meal plan for the week to follow. I'm currently trying to cut down on snacking and I'm thinking maybe only fruit is allowed inbetween meals!

How are others doing?

I'm nervous for this Wednesday as I'm only just getting fully into it! Maybe the Wednesday after will be better Grin

Hello everyone!

I've been trying to drink water when I'm hungry instead of automatically reaching for the snacks - sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't!

Think I overdid it a bit at the gym yesterday as my hips and knees are a bit aches today.

Heybungalow, I'm also a bit worried about Wednesday as I've been stubbornly stuck at 11stone 4 for a whole now...but my body shape is changing really noticeably and if I look more toned and manage to get my body fat % down (it's already just within the healthy range) I genuinely don't care what the scales say!

HeyBungalowBill · 19/05/2014 13:05

Hiya AnnField
I have been thinking the same! I have been exercising properly for about 2 months now and my body shape is definitely improving. I haven't lost any weight at the minute though! Eating far too many treats Sad

Me please, I'm currently 10stone 2lb, have come down from 10 st 11lb, now I'm nearly there I feel I might want to loose more to be a size 10. I'm 5'7" and am a 12, but was still a 12 at my heaviest, I'm just a more comfy 12 now, although need to wear a belt with my trousers now Grin. How much do you think I would have to weigh at my height to be a size 10? Am quite thick waisted.

iirc · 19/05/2014 13:12

I'll join.

5ft
11st 6lb
Size 14 both top and bottom

I don't mind setting up a group might keep me to it :)

iirc · 19/05/2014 13:18

I am the shortest and the fattest :(

HeyBungalowBill · 19/05/2014 13:23

iirc - you may be the shortest but I just got weighed and it says I'm 11st9?! Shock Sad

I blame the new scales!

I am 5'6" and weight 10'13" or 11' and desperate to get down to 10. I am aiming for the first half stone by mid July and the next one by end Sept.

I am currently just trying to watch what I eat and walk a lot which isn't having a massive impact but I am losing 1lb every couple of weeks which is probably enough. I am having 1 slice toast and butter for breakfast, then noodles and spinach for lunch (small portion) and then trying to be reasonably careful the rest of the day but allows a bit of flex so bad snack day = very small dinner and minimal snacks = bigger dinner! Weekends tend to be a bit more do what I like but I am still trying not to go mad as I am hoping to change my habits for life - I have struggled with this extra 1-1.5 stone since my first DC was born 9 years ago!!!

SirDoris · 19/05/2014 13:42

Can I join too please?

5'6"
10st13lb
Size 12

I've been doing C25K for ages. Had to stop and re do a few weeks because of injury but am now up to W8R3. Only 4 runs to go! I'm loving it, but haven't lost any weight doing it. Definitely great for toning though and a real feel good factor. Have been using My Fitness Pal app too to log food. I keep losing 3-4lbs then putting them back on again. Need to work on my willpower!

HeyBungalowBill · 19/05/2014 14:02

Those who are exercising, I think it can take a while for the weight to come off but when it does you are toned.

A friend of mine was running for months and never lost anything, then all of a sudden it seemed to come off quickly Smile

I think sometimes you have to keep up the exercise so it eventually counterbalances what you are eating!

Ok false alarm! Read the instructions and it was a false alarm I'm still 11st6, I was gutted then! Forgot to set the scales up properly Grin

Hi to all of the new people.

Heybungalow - glad it was a false alarm!

Hey All !!
I'll join you if there is still space. I hover at around 10st 12lb ish - am a broad 5'7'', so probably don't want to lose much more than half a stone.

Two years ago I went from 12st 3lb to around 10st 7 lb just by not snacking and exercising more. ::)

I still consistently exercise and generally eat quite well, but I think I actually need to cut back a bit if I want to lose these extra pounds, as at the moment I just seem to be maintaining the weight I'm at.

I'm fit and well and but am a pear and find it hard to feel comfortable in trousers - as this seems to be where the weight comes off last, I feel like this extra half a stone is just wibbling around my derriere !!

Ruffling feathers - we do have room for one more Wink
That's a really good start that you are already fit, that should mean once you get your diet sorted it should drop off you hopefully!

Has anyone tried slimming world before? I did really well with slimming world until I stopped losing weight and gave up. I think that teamed with exercise would be a good match, for me anyway!

I tried SW a few years ago, bizarrely when I weighed under 10 stone and didn't even need to lose anything! I lost about 10lbs then got bored of it. My best friend has lost 2 stone over the past 3 months following it though and it really suits her.

anywinewilldonow · 20/05/2014 20:02

Hi. I've never joined one of these threads before, but your statistics caught my eye as mine are similar - I'm 5'8" and 11 st, so have you got room for another?

Before DC I was 9st 7, after DC generally 10st, but in the last 18 months the weight has crept on (I'm mid 40's), so I really need to get a grip. This extra weight just doesn't feel nice, and I can't find anything I'm happy wearing at the moment!

I have dabbled with juicing and MFP and just being careful, but always seem to sabotage myself each day and say to myself that I'll start tomorrow. This time I really do need to start tomorrow! I have a couple of events coming up and I would like to get back to 10 st or even a little under that.

AnnField · 21/05/2014 07:52

Hi anywine, welcome to the thread.

Well it's weigh in day and I now weigh 11st2 - a loss of 2lbs Grin

I won't manage to keep that up! How's everyone else got on this week?

TheresLotsOfFarmyardAnimals · 21/05/2014 09:03

Not a good week for me, still 10st13lbs but not too bad considering the hen do at the weekend!

HenriettaTurkey · 21/05/2014 09:15

Can I join? I beat you all in the weight stakes: I'm 5'6'' and weigh 12s 2lb! I put this down to the fact that I hurt my hip in January at work, around the time I was trying to lose Christmas weight. Still off work with it so now have Christmas weight + hip weight (can't exercise! Even swimming is banned!!)

It's piled on.

So I'm going to have to try and lose weight through diet control Hmm

Any tips on curbing my appetite welcome.

RufflingFeathers · 21/05/2014 09:47

Weigh in : 10 st 13.5lb

Not great, but on my period, so a little over what it should be.
Been doing ok- trying to have one meal without carbs each day.

Well done AnnField ! Welcome Henrietta, sorry about the hip -that's miserable - what happened ?
