Anyone aiming for 10stone?

HeyBungalowBill · 12/05/2014 22:57

Hello!
I'm looking for someone to kind of compete (in a friendly way) to get to 10 stone.
Me and a friend once decided that neither of us would eat any chocolate, biscuits, cake etc and kind of competed and I did well at it but he crumbled!

Anyway about me:
I'm 5 foot 4
11st 6
Size 10-12 on top
12-14 on bottom

Planning on running and a bit of strength training for my exercise, I think diet will be the hard part.

If you think you'd like to pair up or form a group to lose weight together that'd be great Smile

Was 10st 3lb on Tuesday, then on Wednesday weigh-in day was 10 st 4lb... So I've not lost an ounce this week. I've been good, done lots of exercise, so I'm now fed up.

Have to remind myself that I have lost 8lb, but really wanted to hit 10lb off this week. Give me some tips or a challenge. I need some serious motivation as I'm feeling like giving up.

Hi rasmum - welcome - I too have a weakness for crisps - they are definitely my go-to snack rather than chocolate.

Okay - I think we should all think of some motivational tip to share to get us through the weekend without overindulgence !! Here's mine :

These bodies that we've been given are a gift that we are to look after. We wouldn't feed our babies lard and syrup but we stuff that into our bodies and then wonder why we are lethargic and flat. Let's love ourselves this weekend by eating food which we enjoy and nourishes us and helps us grow and stay strong.

Next pep talk ?!!

8lb in 9 days...WOW! Well done. What did you have to do? You must have been starving!

Off to a BBQ tonight. One burger only. Have been good all day. Will swim tomorrow (50 lengths) and I'm going to cycle a 14 mile circuit each evening this weekend.

Haha thanks !! it was a 9 day cleanse my friend was doing. As I saw her results I thought ! Wow I can do 9 days. I didn't feel hungry as I was given supplements to help with that and I had a strict plan to follow, sometimes it's having a plan and sticking to it. I know if I hadn't had a plan I wouldn't have carried on with it

10stone here I come Smile

Well I did the juice and am now 10, 6. So I'm pleased (2 days ahead of dress fitting- hence pressure!). Also been doing the 30 day ab challenge and could nearly see a muscle earlier (if I squinted!).
Juice was ok- boring but they did taste nice. I really missed coffee though. (More than wine!).
I'm now going to concentrate on healthy eating each day and use mfp to log calories. Aim for a slow loss.

Well done everyone!! Well I got my stone off in 4 weeks woohoo. 1.5lbs lost this week taking me to 10.10. ( and a half) so back into the healthy range of bmi and 10.5lbs to go!! Can't believe this time 4 weeks ago I was a stone heavier. No bloody bugger has noticed apart from my mum ha ha. My clothes are all much looser and I feel so much better in myself. Walked 30 miles this week too.
So chuffed!

I want to join ! Lost 2 stone three years ago with lighter life kept it off from 12 5 to 10 5 now want to get to 10 and have been messing about for three years losing few lbs then back on. Have started exercising better sharing pt with friend and c25k four times a week feel better but no weight loss yet. My trainer is trying to wean me off using ll sachets when I've gained few lbs so hoping this thread will help seems a lot of good advice being given. My biggest challenge is planning meals and sticking to it then I panic I'm going to gain weight then I use ll sachets vicious circle anyway I'm hopeful Grin

Hi, Can I join? Smile I'm 5 ft 6 and weight 11 stone 10! My goal is 10 stone too, I was shopping for clothes today and to my horror found that size 14 trousers were a bit on the tight side! When I was 10 stone I was a size ten.

Welcome Wibbley and Parsley.

Reports done. Just got back from bike ride. Have not had dinner yet and not particularly hungry, so going to give it a miss. Exercise up, calories down... Hopefully the scales will begin to move again!

Have signed up to mfp. I can see it taking over, having to log every morsel. Have burned 1034 calories doing exercise today according to mfp Smile

Thanks breward :-). It sounds like you are doing all the right things. The last time, in fact the only time I dieted sucessfully was several years ago when I stuck to 1500 calories a day plus exercise, it worked really well for me. I'm going to see If I can lose by just watching what I eat but If that doesn't give me results, I'll do calorie counting again.

Weighed myself this morning now 10st 2lb... Yeh, the weight is beginning to shift again Smile. Celebrated with a bowl of porridge and went out for a 45 minute walk (with a bit of running)... All before 8am! I did not stay up for the football, but the rest of the family did. So all still quiet here!

I lost 21lb in 12 weeks (went from 10.10 to 9.3) about 3 years ago. I had a leaflet put through the door for a community weight loss challenge. It was £40 up front for12 weeks of weigh-ins and healthy lifestyle talks. I won the challenge (biggest percentage weight loss) and got £300 as a prize! Grin

We are now doing a workplace weight loss challenge. The prize is £80 as everyone has put in £10. We all encouraging each other, but some have given up. I weighed in at 10st 13, now I'm 10st 2 with 3 weeks to go.

Hi ladies, I hope there's room for another not-yet-little one? I've been losing weight for the last 10 months and am down almost 3.5 stone, but another 1 to go to get me to 9'13. I'm 5'2" and size 10/12 on top, 12 bottom, so similar enough to many.

I haven't read the whole thread but I'll catch up during the week. I read your post above though, tea1sugar that you're stuck for a couple of weeks. Are you still eating 1000 cals a day? It's possible that's too few, from what I've read, 1200 seems to be the recommended lowest to go to avoid your body hitting starvation mode. Might be worth looking into. There are some good discussion forums on. My Fitness Pal if you haven't seen them.

Morning - 10st 10 this morning - had a yo-yo sort of few weeks, so overall quite chuffed with that.

Keep going Parsley - it's not the individual weeks that count but the overall trajectory - think of it as points on a graph - so don't worry too much about wee blips !!

Last week I was fed up as I had stayed the same. This week I'm ecstatic as I've lost 3lb over the week. Was 10st 4 last Wednesday now 10st 1lb... getting closer to 10st (and 3lb away from a stone lost).

Keep with it everyone. It is hard to get motivated, especially if you are not losing as rapidly as you hoped for.

I upped the exercise and signed up to My Fitness Pal (for free) so I could log all my food and exercise. It also gives you a daily update of how you are doing... 'if you eat and exercise like today in 5 weeks you will weigh _.'

11 stone 9 today, a pound down, 3 pounds down in total. Seem to be losing about one pound a week which is going in the right direction Smile. On my way to 10 stone, i've got my midway goal of 11 stone and seeing myself get closer and closer to this is helping to keep me on track.

Yey- some more losses. That's such a good motivational line isn't it breward 'if you eat and exercise like today in 5 weeks you will weigh…'

Had an active day and a bit peckish now- but reading these makes me want to drink a cup of tea first to see if I really need to eat ! cheers ladies - we've only got 10 days left of school here so I need to up my efforts before the sunny hols !!
