Anyone aiming for 10stone?

HeyBungalowBill · 12/05/2014 22:57

Hello!
I'm looking for someone to kind of compete (in a friendly way) to get to 10 stone.
Me and a friend once decided that neither of us would eat any chocolate, biscuits, cake etc and kind of competed and I did well at it but he crumbled!

Anyway about me:
I'm 5 foot 4
11st 6
Size 10-12 on top
12-14 on bottom

Planning on running and a bit of strength training for my exercise, I think diet will be the hard part.

If you think you'd like to pair up or form a group to lose weight together that'd be great Smile

Hi all, well a week away with associated meals out and wine has put me back at 11st :(
Managed 2 runs though and the second was definitely easier so I'm concentrating on that.
Back on the diet today and going to the supermarket to basically buy salad.

bubalou · 01/06/2014 17:58

Another 2lbs lost which is 4lbs in a week but it's my 1st week on this diet so I assume a lot is water although I am a healthy eater anyway.

Looking forward of putting in a lot of exercise this coming week as it's been hard having half term last week and trying to fit in exercise.

Only 10 days til holiday so not long left to lose! Smile

breward · 01/06/2014 20:23

Well done bubalou, 4lb in a week is fab.

I've done 50 lengths swimming today, so 180 lengths this week... nearly 3 miles (and I can't do front crawl!). Did my usual walk/run tonight for 4 miles.

However, could not resist a few pringles and a couple (ok, five) chips off DH supper. I did only have a bowl of special K and some sugar free jelly for my tea though!

breward · 01/06/2014 20:24

Where are you off to on your holiday bubalou?

breward · 03/06/2014 16:33

Really struggling today. Desperate to stick to a diet, but could just stuff my face!

How's everyone else doing?

RufflingFeathers · 04/06/2014 07:58

Struggling with motivation this week - seem to be retaining water so am UP 3lb from last week - OH NO !!!
But not aided by being very busy and eating lots of chocolate in the evenings !!
So depressed by how quickly it can go up and down !!

Has anyone sat down and charted how easy they find it to stick to their diet at different points in their monthly cycle? mine definitely seems to make a big impact !!

BarbaraPalmer · 04/06/2014 08:05

hello, do you have room for a latecomer?

I am 5'9", and 11st 10. size 14-16. my clothes look terrible ATM.

10st would be marvellous, but TBH I'd settle for anything starting with 10.

I am just back from holiday where I ate disgustingly the whole time. Work has been really stressful, so I've been comfort eating and not exercising. my plan is basically to not eat like a piggy anymore, and to exercise at least 2 x weekly. I've done c25k before, so might do an accelerated version to get me back up to managing 5k.

breward · 04/06/2014 16:10

Only 1lb lost this week. At least it is a loss and not a gain. Now 10st 4lb.

Welcome Barbara

mamaduckbone · 04/06/2014 16:18

Can I join please? I'm 5'5 and 11 stone, size 10-12 on top and 12-14 bottom like you OP. I'm the heaviest I've ever been and need some motivation as I'm 40 next year and want to look the best I've ever looked not the fattest!
I'm swimming once a week but need to do some more exercise really and stay away from the chocolate / big portions courtesy of dh who does the cooking.

ltathere · 04/06/2014 17:25

there are some dark black chocolate with low fat you could take just in case you have cravings for sweets.

AnnField · 05/06/2014 07:21

Hi everyone. I managed to 'lose' this thread somehow. To be fair I've had a busy week which included a very last minute trip abroad! I did get to 11.1 at some point and I weigh that this morning but it wasn't on an official weigh in day so doesn't count. I was back up to 11.4 yesterday after a long weekend of eating absolute rubbish (I was on holiday!) Not ran for ages due to knee twinges and being busy but I did walk 15 miles on Monday so it's not all bad!

Welcome to all the new people and congratulations to all of the losers and Henrietta!

TomDaleysTrunks · 05/06/2014 07:27

Please may I join you?
Start 11stone 5.
Height. 5ft 3.

I've lost a stone already after having dD2. I seem to get to 11stone then get stuck. Determined to get to that magic 10 this time.

I'm using MFP so I'm on 1200 cals per day. I'm also doing c25k and the Facebook Abs challenge.

I am 5'6" and 13st4lb

Its so depressing. Size 12 up to 16. Ugh.

I'm starting cycling. My wedding is in august. I would just like to aim for a size 14 at the mo, keep it realistic post baby.

Tell me I'll make it weeps Sad

madhairday · 05/06/2014 12:53

Another new joiner here as stats so similar!

I am 5ft 7
11st 5lb
size 12

I really want to get down to 10. I was 9.5 pre dc but 10 will make me very happy. I hovered around 10.5 for years and years but suddenly in about the last year have put on this stone :( I started 5:2 in Jan which was going well but then got ill for 3 months. I have a chronic disease which means I can only gently walk/exercise so no weight loss that way.

I really want to see 10 something too and preferably be as close to 10 as possible by the summer holidays.

Am on fast day today but stupidly had shop delivered so now starving and looking at all nice fresh food in fridge. Oh well, there's always tomorrow..

Whatutalkinboutwillis · 05/06/2014 13:26

Oh I'm struggling this week and its only week 3. Dreading my weigh in

Whatutalkinboutwillis · 05/06/2014 13:26

Whoops posted too soon. Dreading my weigh in

Whatutalkinboutwillis · 05/06/2014 13:27

Seriously what's happening with my phone!! Weigh in on sat! Am craving choc and wine!! How is everyone else doing?

petalsandstars · 05/06/2014 17:15

1 off this week, although out for a fancy dinner tonight so next weeks is anyone's guess.

First meal out in a year! !

anywinewilldonow · 05/06/2014 22:10

Another pound off, now 10st 11.8.

I'm now 45 and have found that as perimenopause has hit, it has been harder to eat exactly what I want without paying the price - I'm convinced that's why I've put on a stone in the last 18 months! Anyone else found this?

Whatutalkinboutwillis · 07/06/2014 09:31

Well done with the losses everyone. 3lbs off this week and back into the 10's am delighted. 13lbs in 3 weeks so aiming for my stone next week. Just so chuffed to see my weight start with a 10 again!! Walked 40 miles this week but am exhausted so think I have pushed it too far too soon. Day off today woohoo!

RufflingFeathers · 09/06/2014 09:28

Well done all, I've had a rubbish week - tired/emotional eating, plus TOTM - urrggghh !! anyway, today is a new day - I know I will have gained at my weigh in tomorrow, but hey ho !! it's the long game that counts, isn't it.

interesting what you say about perimenopause anywine - do you think our bodies just need less food the older we get or do you think it's to do with the processing of it- i.e. certain foods aren't as easy for the body to break down so more of it is retained ? not sure….

whatutalking - that's an incredible loss again this week !! you must feel like a whole new woman !!

crazyoldfish · 09/06/2014 10:57

Hi all.
Very impressed with all the losses and exercise!
So still sitting about 10,12 (have been for ages). Getting fed up as have a big event thus weekend and then a dress fitting a week later so have done something that is probably a bit stupid and signed up for a juice fast this week (just 3 days). Had my first juice just now and it was nice.
Really hope this is going to have some effect.
Am I crazy? Has anyone else tried this?

AnnField · 11/06/2014 08:27

Morning all. I'm still 11 stone 1. To be fair I've not done much exercise other than walking this week and I have eaten more than one slice of cake.

Posting on my phone so it's difficult to look back but a juice fast sounds crazy - you'll have to let us know how you get on!

anywinewilldonow · 11/06/2014 11:06

Now 10 st 8.8, so 3 lbs off this week. It's been hard - I've felt hungry (and I hate that feeling, so have to fight very hard with myself not to give in!)

Have also stepped up the exercise a bit. But when I start to lose, it does give me more of an incentive to keep going though.
