Anyone aiming for 10stone?

HeyBungalowBill · 12/05/2014 22:57

Hello!
I'm looking for someone to kind of compete (in a friendly way) to get to 10 stone.
Me and a friend once decided that neither of us would eat any chocolate, biscuits, cake etc and kind of competed and I did well at it but he crumbled!

Anyway about me:
I'm 5 foot 4
11st 6
Size 10-12 on top
12-14 on bottom

Planning on running and a bit of strength training for my exercise, I think diet will be the hard part.

If you think you'd like to pair up or form a group to lose weight together that'd be great Smile

I have been following scottish slimmers. Typically I have been sticking to 1000 calories a day

Breakfast : porridge or yogurt

Lunch: ww soup and 1 slice ww bread or ham sandwich with ww bread
Vegetable soup

Dinner ww ready meal 400 calorie/ salad/ and just general half the portions I would normally have/ grilled chicken with gluten free wraps chilli sauce and salad.

Snacks water biscuits with tomato
French frie 99 calorie crisps
Cherry toms
Apple
Orange
Melon

That's pretty much been my diet for a week, just wanted to give it a good kick start. I find cutting out wheat helps loads.

Am no guru and will probably not loose this week knowing my luck. Have managed 8 miles walking today so doing as much as I can.

Hi am I too late to join?

I'm 5'6 and 11st5. I was 10st10 before Christmas but gained over the festive period and 5 months on I've not managed to lose it!!!

I've lost with WW before but it's just not clicked with me this time so I'm now trying to diet on my own (so far without success). I go to Zumba and netball once a week so diet really is the key!!

Before DD1 I was 10st4 and managed I get back down to 10st6 before DD2 but she's 2 now and I'm struggling to focus!! I would love to be back down there again!

Not too late at all Bertie Smile

Willis - I know someone who can't eat wheat (forgot the proper name!!) and she's tiny. I'm thinking that's why!
A friend also told me there's a tribe somewhere that only eat wheat and they are overweight

Weigh in today for me : Last week :10st 13.5 lb
Today :10 st 10.5lb

feels encouraging but it is mainly water ! I always retain quite a lot at the wrong time of the month, so the week after my period is always a good weight loss !!

Any tips on keeping motivated ? still got another 5 lbs ish to lose - don't' want to give up until I've got there !!

Oh yeah, I've gained 2lb Sad
Think I'm getting closer to my period so that may be why, or because I'm greedy!!

Just weighing in - now 10st 13 - only lost 1lb, but am pleased with that as it hasn't been an easy week to be careful - a big meal in and a meal out (for my birthday), and half term, so no exercise and have had lunch out with the DC too.

This next week will be easier!

I lost another 3lb. Now 10st 5lb, so closer to 10st than 11st...yippee. I have been ultra good and have been running most nights, well 10 minutes running and 30 minutes walking.

Treated myself today by buying a new dress (size 12) and having my eye brows threaded and tinted for the first time. Ouch, but worth it. I've never had such beautifully shaped brows.

Congratulations Henrietta.

Oh yes, discovered salted skinny topcorn this week (4 packets for £1 in poundland and only 52 cals per packet). Great for munching whilst watching BGT each evening!

Can I sneak in too? I'm 5'6 and 10, 8. I've come down from 14-5 with ww since DC2 was born a year ago.

I have been doing the low carb boot camp but I don't think it's for me, feels too restrictive. Although I have appreciated the cutting out of sugar - I was so addicted.

Hey - I'd like to join too.

My stats are 5"6 - starting weight was 11st 4, size 12, pear shaped.

Currently weigh 10st 7 and am on a very strict pre holiday diet which is going great. Smile

Hello all can I join too. I used to be 10 stone pre DC but am currently at an all time high of about 11.7 - DS is 11. Months now and I am finally getting enough sleep to think I need to tackle this.
Planning to cut out the junky carbs first.

An hour and a half walk for me today.

Need to drink more water though. Constantly thinking about food but not particularly hungry. Just hope I can keep being good next week when I am back at work.

Hi well since joining 4 days ago I've not lost a thing despite being on day 3 of the shred! I have today joined WW and I'm determined to be closer to 10st than 11st by the time I go on holiday in 8 weeks!

Currently 11st5!!

I like how I started this thread but I'm doing the worst Grin

I definitely need help with my diet because of my ED but I think that will come with time.

Doing really well with my exercise though, I ran 4.5 miles yesterday. (Probably walked half!)
And have been doing pole fitness and I've started the squat challenge to improve my fitness too!

Sorry - The Shred is Jillian Michaels (from the biggest loser) 30 day exercise DVD. 20 minutes a day for 30 days and you can lose up to 20lbs!!

Over on the fitness threads loads swear by it. I finally opened it after 4 months sat on the shelf. After day 3 I do feel a bit tighter but I won't lose anything if I don't stop eating so much Smile

3lbs off for me this week so now 11.1. Really hoping to be back in the 10 stones next week. That's 10lbs in 2 weeks so not bad going. Well done to everyone this week x

Wow! That is a great weight loss... what is your secret?

Been on a 12 mile cycle ride today, but have just eaten 8 pringles... they were so tempting and delicious (worth a bit of guilt!)

10st here you come. Roll on next Saturday.

No progress here. I have the shred DVD so will start that up again. When do you all do it? Mornings great but too chaotic in my house, I have no chance..

RufflingFeathers · 01/06/2014 08:01

Hey all, Shred is great I did it a few years ago. Once you get into the rhythm of it, it gets easier to work out when to do it - I used sometimes to do it upstairs when the kids were having a bit of post-tea DVD time -
It hurts for a wee while, but even if you're not losing weight, it helps so much with posture and how you hold yourself - I discovered abdominal muscles that I thought were long since lost, ha ha.

And don't they say, that the more you exercise, the more you're inclined to eat healthily.

Not had a great weekend here - just junkier food and a few extra treats, but determined that today shall be a day of moderation and salad !!
