Nice, shiny new thread.

Winnie, come and talk to us over here.

Unless that's a cheese-grater you're on about, I'm keeping well away from you two ...

OOOh lemonaid, I hadn't remembered you from the grate your cellulite off with the dimply side of the grater thread (but in my defence 'd been on MN about 2 days at that point). Was that the one that descended into drawing your favorite kitchen utensil with that fab online programme?

suejonez · 24/08/2006 15:18

non-food treats like pedicures and manicures are always a good idea or if you're hard up(and tight!) like me a glossy magazine or pay for a gardener to mow your law rather than doing it yourself.

Fauve · 24/08/2006 15:25

There's a whole canon of advice out there which insists that you must reward yourself for goals achieved. I like massages myself, mmmmm. I'm supposed to be organising a riding lesson for me and dd for both of us achieving something ages ago, have forgotten what. Will ensure horse is sufficiently hefty to cope, of course

JackieNo · 24/08/2006 15:29

Oh Mrs JC - had to go out so have missed all of this. So for you, though no words of wisdom to add to all those from everyone else. When DS was born my mum was staying with us, and pils decided to come and stay (it was Christmas) at a guest house nearby for a couple of weeks. I have to say it was not the easiest, and I just constantly escaped upstairs to feed him and cower in a corner. Put them off for as long as you can, definitely.

justamum · 24/08/2006 22:34

just wanted to say, MrsJC i wholeheartedly agree with everyone about putting off the inlaws. Its hard when No 2 arrives and you don't need anything to make it harder, you will already feel really torn between the baby and your dd so you don't need another negative distraction.
On a lighter note well done everone on the losses etc & whats this about a cheesegrater?

coppertop · 25/08/2006 05:23

MrsJC The ILs sound impossible. I'm glad you had good news from the scan though.

Congrats to SJ and Lemonaid.

It's Friday morning (just!) and it's just occurred to me that I've been too busy to weigh myself. I'm tempted to leave it till next week as I know the news isn't going to be good.

Good luck for this week, everyone.

suejonez · 25/08/2006 18:34

'Tis lovely on the IOW - bright sunshine, though sadly the pool is a strange pea green colour. The pool man was supposed to have come yesterday but didn't, and the gardener gave notice last week and there are no cleaners to be found for love nor money. You know, you just can't get the staff these days

suejonez · 25/08/2006 18:35

Oh and I'm rapidly putting back on the weight I lost last week. I don;t care at the moment but I will come Wednesday when I'm weighing

WigWamBam · 25/08/2006 19:47

Better get your pinny on and your Marigolds out, sue

Just a reminder, girls - I'm away tomorrow morning for a week so I won't be around for the weigh-in.

BUT ... you don't get away with it that easily Suejonez is going to take the helm while I'm away, and you can email her with your huge and impressive weight losses on Wednesday - she'll give you her email address to use. I'm sure she'll keep you all in line ... and if she's better at cracking the whip than I am, maybe she'll get the job permanently

See you in a week

suejonez · 25/08/2006 20:31

Have a lovely week - where are you off to?

JackieNo · 25/08/2006 20:33

You trying to offload it, WWB?

suejonez · 25/08/2006 20:37

Now then ladies - none of this slacking and getting into bad habits. I want all your weights mailed to suejonez at aol dot com by 8pm sharp.

Failure to mail weight in time will result in a a warning
Failure to give sufficient information so that I know who you are will result in a warning
Failure to lose weight will result in a warning
Failure to send me presents will result in a warning.

Can't think of any more rules just now but will mull it over this weekend.

WigWamBam · 25/08/2006 20:39

Thank you! We're going up to York, nowhere hugely exotic but nice place all the same. Lots of walking on the moors, plenty of time in York, beach at Scarborough for dd.

And I shall be meeting secur, who I've wanted to meet for aaaaaages (although she is slim and blonde and gorgeous and looks like a supermodel, apparently, so I may send a skinny-minnie substitute instead).

OP posts:
suejonez · 25/08/2006 20:42

At least secur isn;t like Littlefish's sister - she's a 6 foot ex-Chanel model who's now an architect (did I get that right Littlefish) [sympathetic wince emoticon]

Lovely part of the country WWB - it's like the IOW - not exciting and deeply unfashionable but still lovely.

JackieNo · 25/08/2006 20:43

WWB - I think suejonez is scarier than you. I'm quaking in my boots (well, slippers, but you know what I mean)

Fauve · 25/08/2006 20:48

Have a lovely time in York, WWB.

suejonez · 25/08/2006 20:49

AND NO LUCKING AT THE BACK. Come along now Fauve, sit here in the front where I can keep an eye on you, there's a dear.

JackieNo · 25/08/2006 20:50

We're all at the back Fauve - there's no escape.

suejonez · 25/08/2006 20:50

No LURKING at the back, LURKING.

(no lucking either)

Fauve · 25/08/2006 20:52

Gah...

WigWamBam · 25/08/2006 21:16

Oooooh ... boot camp!

OP posts:
Fauve · 25/08/2006 21:18

Actually I found out today that it's taken me exactly seven months to lose a stone - on 25 Jan this year, I was a stone heavier. So I'm kind of chuffed about that.

However, I would ideally like to lose another stone by Xmas - 4 months away - so I'll need to give it a bit more welly. There was another thread on here recently aiming to lose a stone and a half by Xmas, but that's deffo too much for me I reckon. I seem to average about half a pound a week. But I do feel as if I'm getting the hang of it a bit more now...

JackieNo · 25/08/2006 22:03

Yes - I was thinking another stone by Christmas would be good. Let's go for it.

Fauve · 25/08/2006 22:11

We'll need that boot camp, though
