The only thing I could think of to rhyme with 'six' for a catchy thread title was 'ketostix'. But as I don't advocate those, I was stuck!

By now, hopefully you're in the sway of things. Weight loss each week may be less spectacular, but should be reasonably consistent if you stick to the knitting Smile

You may also be finding that it's not happening for you consistently. It is an odd thing - and I have no idea if it's unique to low carbing - but it's not uncommon to go for a couple of weeks without losing, and then for the scales to suddenly drop. However, don't be downhearted and whatever you do, don't use this as an excuse to drop off the wagon!

It's also a very good reason why you should take your measurements as well as weighing, and a very good idea to keep a food/drink/snack diary, so make sure that you're not allowing carb creep.

So. Keep on keeping on. Remember the water, and don't forget to make sure you're keeping the fat levels up.

Here's to next week!

Theeverexpandingrodders · 21/05/2012 18:20

I have decided too bootcamp until sunday and have a bit of birthday cake as its my sons birthday party but ill be extra good all week first !

moonshine · 21/05/2012 19:03

There's a whole lot of pork belly being eaten on this thread and I so want some now!. But I shall have to cope with chicken thighs, although I have no idea what to do with them yet.

Yesterday I had a ridiculous burst of energy and did loads of gardening.

It's nice to hear that others are still eating well and losing - I really need to now as, if the sun is here to stay for a while, I need to shrink back into my summer gear. Even my 'fat' clothes don't currently fit Sad

LittleFrieda · 21/05/2012 19:29

I've just realised, I'm no longer craving sweet things.

Thegoddessblossom · 21/05/2012 19:34

Pork belly rocks.

Snacks: pkt pork scratchings, baby bel

2bayumimum · 21/05/2012 19:57

Can I check out a few items please to ensure they are allowed on BC....packet of pork scratchings, jalapenos in a jar and lemon/lime juice ( seem to remember something about coming out of ketosis if you take in citric acid, so assuming the same applies to citric fruit....) Im going for the non weigh, try by size 10 jeans approach, as currently have a complete muffin shop, not just muffin top, but they are loosening up nicely :-) Also have a size 10 dress I need to get into my end July, so this is my goal rather than a specific weight. Loving this WOE, just hoping I can be so well behaved on BCL next week....

ohforfoxsake · 21/05/2012 20:10

so much to catch up on. Marking my spot on this thread too. Smile off to catch up.

BIWItheBold · 21/05/2012 20:41

Pork scratchings are (should be) fine - just check the carb count on the packet

Jalapenos - ditto

Lemon/lime juice - not sure. Atkins allows 4 tablespoons of this a day.

Livelongandprosper · 21/05/2012 21:18

Marking my place!

switchtvoffdosomelessboring · 21/05/2012 21:22

For dinner tonight I had pork chops and spinach, but the spinach kept disappearing to nothing in the pan and ended up using a whole packet (250g). I never liked spinach before but fried in butter it's truly lush. Just wondering I ate to much though?

Creamtea1 · 21/05/2012 21:33

Can I just advocate tea's post re protein shakes. I get them from the same place and think they have been a contributing factor to getting into the 9's. I have the strawberry cream flavour.
They also really do fill you up!

Livelongandprosper · 21/05/2012 21:38

I haven't had any dinner tonight. I went to see a film and ate a packet of sweets even though I didn't really want them. They gave me such a hot flush that after I had removed all the clothing I could whilst still remaining decent I took my shoes and socks off to try to cool down (we were the only ones in the cinema I might add) (though I would have done it anyway)

I feel a bit yuk. Serves me right. Some habits are hard to break and eating sweeties in the cinema is one of mine. Must remember the next time I see a film how I nearly melted this evening from sweetie poisoning.

Creamtea1 · 21/05/2012 21:41

Also to say have read the anti low carb thread...yawn....I knew Biwi would shoot them down with 'the knowledge'
Smile

teaandthorazine · 21/05/2012 21:46

Which thread is that creamtea?

WillieWaggledagger · 21/05/2012 21:51

Went out for supper (new Raymond blanc place has opened down the road recently) had lovely food though hadn't realise my main course would be DRENCHED in balsamic vinegar. Hope that won't do too muh damage...

moonshine · 21/05/2012 22:02

Is it possible to eat too much spinach?? A huge bag always reduces to a pack of cards portion, but I find young spinach doesn't seem to disappear quite so quickly.

Re: citric acid/lemon/fruit teas - on the hardcore Cambridge and LL diets these were absolutely forbidden as they were meant to take you out of ketosis (if that is your aim) but I don't know if it's possible to be in a 'deep' ketosis - you can certainly be in mild ketosis - which would be more important on those diets for big losses.

I had chicken with skin on in a very creamy sauce - it just feels all wrong and anti anything I would have done less than 2 weeks ago. Am curious to see what this week brings loss (or gain!) wise.

2bayumimum · 21/05/2012 22:02

Thanks as always BiWi, nice to know I can add a few extra things in. Going to order some protein shakes ready for next week, so thanks everyone for those tips too !

TinTinsSexySister · 21/05/2012 22:08

Thanks for the Bootcamp rules BIWI.

Day one complete for me, have found it fine so far and I did a 1 hour fitness class and a 1.5 hour walk.

Won't be able to keep that up though, am now knackered Blush

teaandthorazine · 21/05/2012 22:08

Oh, that one! Was thinking I'd missed a big anti-low-carb rumble Grin

SharonGless · 21/05/2012 22:50

Evening losers, well done to all the weight losses the week.Am pleased as I lost 2lbs this week which takes me over my first stone target! Yay.

Feeling very evangelical about WOE but trying to keep it to myself without Boring all I meet!

Interesting reading the linked thread as my mum suffers from IBS. my aunt has gone onto low carb/no dairy diet due to illness and is feeling amazing on it. Am going to try and convince mum to give it a go and cook her some yummy low carb meals next time she visits.

The main thing I am finding hard is cooking 3 bloody evening meals! More planning required.....

Theeverexpandingrodders · 21/05/2012 22:58

Where do you get your protein shakes from?

I almost gave in tonight sat with the Chinese menu on my knee but fought the urge and had 4 hazelnuts and a cuppa instead lol !!
