So we have survived week one, more or less intact Grin

There has been a lot of cheating along the way - either intentional or accidental - but most people seem to be getting on with it and embracing low carbing. And we have seen some spectacular results already!

As one of the cheaters, I can tell you what you will already have discovered for yourself:

This way of eating (WOE) is an unforgiving one. If you slip up or cheat, it will show up on the scales

I know it's hard. I drank wine on both Friday and Saturday night. But it really is up to you how strict you choose to be - and therefore hopefully you will understand that it is up to you how much weight you are losing.

I realise this sounds patronising. But it's the ultimate truth of this (or any) diet.

Having said all that, I also know that there are some people who are struggling, and for whom weight loss has been very slow.

Just remember, if you have less weight to lose, then your rate of loss will be slower than those who have more to lose. And any loss, even if it's only a pound or so, is still a loss. Visualisation is always helpful for me if I think I've only lost a pound this week. Remember, a pound loss is like two packets of lard! That's a lot of fat.

And if weight loss is slow, or you're not seeing the scales move, have a long look at what you have been eating and drinking, and be really honest with yourself. Have you been following the rules? Have you been allowing carby things into your diet? Have you being drinking enough water? Try keeping a food diary so you can record everything (and I mean everything) that you're eating and drinking, as this can help you identify what might be affecting your progress.

If you still can't work out why it's happening (or not happening!), post what you've been eating and drinking here, and others might be able to help and advise you.

Anyway. Lecture over! Welcome to Week 2. Hopefully you will all see significant loss this week as well. But those of you who have lost loads in week 1 - don't expect to see the same kind of loss in this week - it's inevitable that it will slow down. Remember that sustainable, long term weight loss is around 1-2lbs per week.

And those of you who are struggling, hopefully another strict week will get things going for you! And I also hope that everyone has got through their carb withdrawals by now, and you are all feeling fantastic!

Onwards and downwards ... Grin

DoUntoOtters - freeze them? Would that work?

SharonGless · 28/04/2012 20:11

LittleFrieda
Bloody good point that- becomes vicious circle.

However I've got the gold star AND BIWI said I can have vodka

DoUntoOtters · 28/04/2012 20:14

LittleFrieda - too late. Sad

BettyBathroom · 28/04/2012 20:15

Well usual Saturday night glass of wine - think Bootcamp light will suit me better! Wink

Exercise - 5k walk

B poached eggs with aspargus & parmesan
L cream of celery soup followed by a low carb almond muffin & double cream
D prawn red curry with cauliflower rice

ohforfoxsake · 28/04/2012 22:02

Despite my delicious mixed grill and salad, I had my first proper cheat and just had a banana muffin. Fail!

WizzyBizzy · 28/04/2012 22:06

I'm going to stay on bootcamp for at least another week, partly as penance for my poor behaviour today. I was a bit naughty today. Not sure I can bring myself to own up... but it involved half a chocolate egg and some birthday cake

B: leftover chicken and cream cheese
L: salad with goats cheese, green beans, salmon with a creme fraiche sauce. Had some strawberries and raspberries for pudding (I know its not BC-light yet but needs must)

But then it went a bit wrong thanks to generous easter presents from the guests and a quick stop off at a kids birthday party down the road. And then DC1 left his tea and I felt obliged to finish them because I hate wasting food. So...

D: a peanut butter SANDWICH (that's the first time I've had bread in a fortnight). Eek. Sorry. It was wholewheat bread and wholenut no sugar PB if that makes it any better.

Agh. People for lunch again tomorrow. Have planned a low carb roast with green veg although there will be potatoes which I will avoid. They'd better not bring treats!

I know I've not lost any more weight and if I put any back on I shall only have myself to blame.

BIWIWhoMustBeObeyed · 28/04/2012 22:19

There's an awful lot of cheating going on here. And we haven't even started Bootcamp Light yet

Come on people. If you cheat like this, you will undo all your good work.

I know, I know.

WizzyBizzy · 28/04/2012 22:54

I know too! BIWI this is why I need you to keep cracking the whip. Without this thread I'd be off the wagon permanently. As it is I feel really really guilty and will be back on board tomorrow I promise!

BIWIWhoMustBeObeyed · 28/04/2012 22:55

Hmph.

You had better all be back on the wagon by Monday.

Yes miss BIWI! (rubs very sore and much fatter arse!)

BettyBathroom · 28/04/2012 23:35

don't care! I'll sabotage my diet f I want to....and then I'll repent in the morning when I stand on the scales! Grin

LackaDAILYcarb · 28/04/2012 23:39

I am restarting bootcamp on Monday.

I have fallen off the wagon since Thursday, and know, without weighing, that I have regained the measly 2.5 lbs that I lost.

Onwards and downwards

smokinaces · 29/04/2012 00:42

Just been out for dinner. Skinny jeans for the first time in months - without a top covering my bum. Had salmon with veg and swapped the chips for a salad - and even returned that so I got one without carrot or dried onion bits on. Only downer was a couple of diet cokes but I couldn't face water. Aiming for my half stone still Monday morning.

Am very full from eating late though. Didn't get up till ten so breakfast was late, lunch was about half five and dinner about ten!!

ohforfoxsake · 29/04/2012 07:03

2.5 pounds heavier today. but I was a greedy cow yesterday.

Good to see you back Lacka. We can do this! (as long as there's no wine, cake, chocolate or banana muffins close by).

doradoo · 29/04/2012 07:17

I've manages to lose 1,2kg since thursday so hope it's finally starting for me - and I did have a very very small piece of brownie on Friday night which my hostess had cooked for me so I couldn't refuse.

Otherwise, feel like I'm managing OK.

Oh here's yesterdays menu

B - hungover so just a couple of sausages (only 1g carb/100g so ok really)
L - 2 curried eggs and salad
S - lots of nuts
D- Chicken breast stuffed with homemade cashew pesto and green beans
Some wine - we didn't even finish the bottle between us which is practically unheard of!

Roll on bootcamp lite!

BIWIWhoMustBeObeyed · 29/04/2012 07:22

WOO HOO

The scales this morning have revealed not only a further 3lb loss for me, but they now start with a 9!

I'm taking this morning as my official, end-of-Bootcamp weigh-in:

9 stone 13 (and 1/4)

Go me!

BIWIWhoMustBeObeyed · 29/04/2012 07:32
Thanks to everyone taking part in this Bootcamp. I know you think I'm doing this tirelessly and selflessly to help you all, but the reality is that my motivation has always been entirely selfish! I needed something to get me really focused and kick-start things for me, as I'd gone for weeks losing a very small amount (or gaining), so to lose almost 7lbs in a fortnight is absolutely the kind of result I thought I was only able to dream about.

I really couldn't have done it without all of you.

ohforfoxsake · 29/04/2012 07:57

Well done BIWI! That is fantastic Grin

RatherBeOnThePiste · 29/04/2012 08:42

Very well done lovely BIWI!!

Lilyloo · 29/04/2012 08:50

After lurking for a week thought I would post if thats ok. I followed your first week and buoyed by the losses I decided to join you all on Monday. Main motivation being a girls weekend in Portugal next weekend and the thought of wearing a bikini.
Had a really good week, not really hungry at all. 4lb loss on Friday morning Smile.
However I went to a friends jewellery party Friday night, way too much wine and succumbed to soup with bread yesterday and a can of coke as I was so ill.
So back on it today just boiling two eggs for breakfast.

Jacaqueen · 29/04/2012 08:54

Well done BIWI!

But please don't abandon us more rotund poor souls will you.

I need this thread to continue forever

Livelongandprosper · 29/04/2012 09:01

BIWI That is bloody great, well done! I hope your DH is being very complimentary?

Jacaqueen · 29/04/2012 09:05

I am in the middle of a weekend away so have not been able to weigh this morning. Food has been fine but I did have 2 whisky and soda last night. Not sure why, peer pressure I think. Didn't really enjoy them all that much.

TOTM arrived this morning so I hope that doesn't bugger up my weight in the morning.

As soon as a few more people are up I will do Sausage bacon and eggs. We are having roast chicken and pork for for Sunday lunch/dinner with lots of lowcarb veg. I will use the leftovers for salads over the coming days. If I am hungry I will have some eggs for supper when we get home later tonight.

DH and the boys were toasting marshmallows and pieces of cookie on the bbq last night. I was not in the least bit bothered and didn't feel that I was missing out as I sucked on a few macadamia nuts.
