BIWI's Two Week Low Carb Boot Camp - starts Monday 16 April

I've been back low carbing seriously since February and have lost a stone (almost). I have another 1.5 stones to lose.

It's been going well for me, but I have slowed down in the last month and I'm keen to get things back on track and up the speed of my weight loss. To that end, I have devised a strict two week bootcamp.

It will start on Monday 16 April to give anyone who wants to join in time to sort themselves out, get planning and generally get themselves ready to join in.

Who's up for it?

noddy I got these body analyser ones in Debenhams a few weeks ago and they seem good. they were £26 reduced from £35 I think there - clearly much cheaper elsewhere though!

noddyholder · 15/04/2012 15:28

Thanks x

lemniscate · 15/04/2012 16:00

Hi BIWI and everyone else - just found this thread having wondered where everyone had gone from the usual low carb one. I'm in for bootcamp so marking my place :o

Hullygully · 15/04/2012 16:04

I have only read the first page and can't be arsed to do all that.

Can I just have the weight loss please?

FauxFox · 15/04/2012 16:33

I'm ready. Need to do Tesco tomorrow but I have a rough meal plan and will be weighing in < the horror > in the morning. Before I eat scrambled egg and mushrooms Grin

DoraBelveden · 15/04/2012 16:38

So much for my trying to start myself off gradually. Today has been a complete washout due to a crap night last night. Trying to be organised today so from tomorrow there is no option but to LC.

Afraid there will be another namechange too. This name is apparently very similar to one someone has in their list of used names - shame as I quite liked this one :o

vnmum · 15/04/2012 16:42

I'm a late joiner from the other thread. It's going to get slightly confusing as I will be WI on this thread on a monday and I usually WI on the other thread on a wednesday. Are you linking to the new thread on here BIWI?

Livelongandprosper · 15/04/2012 16:46

BIWI When the biscuit tin calls, I plan to snack on a few macadamia nuts whilst sniffing frantically at the little shaker-thingy of cocoa powder that you are meant to sprinkle on coffee. By the end of the week I expect I shall be taking it like snuff.

Tortington · 15/04/2012 17:19

brunch today i had bacon in tomatos - sunday staple really

tea - chicken salad

snacks for cinema later - cheesestrings and pepperami

must tell you that M&S had some mexican chicken pieces in the fridge section - very low carb - excellent for a throw together salad - 3 packets £6

Tortington · 15/04/2012 17:19

they do moroccan and chili too

ledkr · 15/04/2012 17:20

I didnt ewven try to ease myself in,i had lovely wine last night and lovely toast for brekkie and mcds for lunch and am just cooking a roast Blush

Will frantically finish off the wine tonight.

On a more positive note i went to Aldi and stocked up on masses of meat fish and veg. It was really cheap.

I am fairly clear what i will do the onbly thing freaking me out a bit is brekkie as i dont think i can stomach an omlette.
Did you say i can have full fat yogurt? Or i may make some ham and philly rolls and a hard boiled egg and have brekkie at work a bit later and have a fag and coffee for breakfast Grin

Dh is on lates tomorrow so that is normally biccys and tea in bed time so i will have to clean my teeth and snuggle down with my book instead.

Can i ask about-tomatoes,suede,carrots,cucumber and nuts please? Yay or nay?

ledkr · 15/04/2012 17:24

How about making a nice frittata for breakfasts could slice it up and take a portion to work?
Anyone got a recipe?

Gincognito · 15/04/2012 17:25

Day 2 of my low carb lite lead-in weekend. I woke up feeling SHOCKING. Weak, trembly and nauseous. Was ok though after some Greek yogurt and peanut butter.

Very proud of myself this afternoon - went to patisserie Valerie with friends and had a decaf espresso con panna. Yum! Was tough to watch pistachio icecream and tartes aux fruits being scoffed by everyone else though.

I'm at work tomorrow and so will be taking in posh sausages and boiled eggs in to snack on. For lunch I'm planning on getting a scoop of sandwich filling without the bread.

We can do this!!

ledkr · 15/04/2012 17:25

Radishes? Hmm

alienreflux · 15/04/2012 17:33

thanks so much, haven't got any scales, so gonna have to guess til tuesday,is that ok? SO need this, so thanks again for posting :)

Hepsibaaah · 15/04/2012 17:39

Right. Got some basic LC food in and given DCs carte Blanche to eat everything else. Big problem will be work, I cover 14hr shifts and struggle to find the time to eat (love the Nhs) any ideas for quick LC packed lunch?

GetOrfMoiLand78 · 15/04/2012 17:43

ledkr there were some great recipes for crustless quiches on one of the low carb threads - I will go and find them and link.

I think nuts are classed as a no-no (especially boot camp) but I will still be eating macadamias - they are a really useful portable lunch when I know I won't be able to go to the shops. Just buy them in small bags otherwise it is frighteningly easy to eat an entire large one without realising.

Carrots are too high in starch, It hink swede is as well.

LackaDAISYcal · 15/04/2012 18:02

I am dying for a pepsi max...I'm at work and temptation is everywhere! I have my litre of water here though.

Today has been OK, but I confess to having some marinated ribs, but the marinade was only 40 carbs altogether, and I had a 1/4 of that. I know it's high for one meal, but I had king ribs and didn't know what else to do with them.

I also had a throat sweet. I have secondary sjogrens from the lupus and I get a horribly dry mouth and need something to make saliva or I choke, which is nice! I need to get some sugar free ones.

teaandthorazine · 15/04/2012 18:29

Think I'm going to leave the pasta and the chocs but must confess to having opened the wine Grin

Tonight is roast chicken with all the trimmings, and trifle. Oh dear. But I promise I will be hardcore bootcamp tomorrow! Will weigh in and post first thing.

See you all tomorrow!

ohforfoxsake · 15/04/2012 18:32

Of course! Carrots are a no-no. Durrr! Will have to have a rethink.

Avocados ok?

Can I have that spreadsheet please? Looks like I'm going to need it.

Planning in having boiled eggs and asparagus for Brekkie, mackerel salad for lunch and roast pork stir fry for dinner tomorrow.

Sundried tomatoes and olives? Are they allowed? Too high carb, or just too poncey? Wink

teaandthorazine · 15/04/2012 18:39

Avocados and olives are absolutely fine - in fact essential
IMO. Not only are they low carb but they're high fat, and completely delicious of course! I think sundried toms are a bit too sweet for bootcamp.

ledkr · 15/04/2012 18:43

ohfor are you teasing me?
Avo is ok,i am going to put it in my salad tomorrow. Olives too.Going to be stinking out the office with my mackeral

KnottyLocks · 15/04/2012 19:09

Ok, a bit late but I'm in too Smile

Working on rum being a veg portion, yes?

Jacaqueen · 15/04/2012 19:30

Room for a little one?

Who am I trying to kid. There is nothing little about me at the moment.

Really excited to log on and find this thread. Just spent the last 3-4 weeks totally off track with my so called diet plan. Feeling really crap and in despair that I have failed yet again, when low and behold a Low Carb Bootcamp starting tomorrow. So I am taking it as a sign and jumping straight in.

I have done low carb before and know that it works well for me. I intend to be totally hardcore for the next 2 weeks. No nuts, sweetners, milk, diet drinks
etc.

GettinTrimmer · 15/04/2012 19:33

Can I join?

I've had success in the past with Pisty on the slinkies thread but put the whole soddin' lot back on again Blush

I am a semi-veggie but eat fish. I do need a bootcamp.
