I'm lauraloveskitsch. Add me. I need support please!

IBlameThePenguins · 22/02/2012 16:37

Bish, that's fab! I must admit I'm a bit envious!

I weighed in today, and have lost 2.5lb, which I'm quite happy about, especially because of bad-back induced lack of exercise!

Alessthandomesticgoddess, I will try and add you now. I'm amiehotchpotch on mfp. I don't have many friends on there yet, and need all the support I can get!

IBlameThePenguins · 22/02/2012 17:07

Just tried to add you aless, hope it worked... I'm pretty new to all of this!

alessthandomesticgoddess · 22/02/2012 17:29

Added & accepted.

bishboschone · 22/02/2012 20:10

Thanks penguins . I'm so chuffed . I have another 2 stone to get back to pre pregnancy weight but I'm heading in the right direction. I already feel thinner Smile

Snakeonaplane · 22/02/2012 20:33

Can I join? I've been doing MFP since Jan and have lost 5kg but I've started to lose motivation. I have a 9 week old and am bf and am tired and hungry. I'm a stone over my pre pregnancy weight now but would like to lose a stone and a half . I've been working out with a trainer twice a week and going to the gym but this week put a pound on, I need my arse kickingGrin

needthistowork · 22/02/2012 20:53

Hi can i join you?

I have weighed myself today and have just over 4 stone to lose Sad

Just joined myfitnesspal after seeing this tread.

It says i should be aiming for 1200 calaries a day but i am breast feeding DC2 who will be 5 weeks on Friday. I heard somewhere that you use 500 calaries a day breastfeeding so should i aim for 1700 calaries a day or would i not lose much weight?

Im hoping to lose about 2 pounds a week

IBlameThePenguins · 22/02/2012 22:13

Hi.snake and needthis. I'm a newbie too! I am 5'3, and currently weigh 11st2. I would like to be 9.and a half, and have the incentive of my.wedding in august!

My name is amiehotchpotch on mfp. Please feel free to add me :)

Snakeonaplane · 22/02/2012 22:44

Penguin I'm the same weight an Inch shorter and would like to get down to 9 and a half too, I've added you Smile

Snakeonaplane · 22/02/2012 22:47

Needthis, when I first weighed myself when dd was 2weeks old I could have cried, I was 12 stone 1 but I lost a stone without even really trying, some baby weight just falls off so although 4 stone sounds a lot I bet some if it will come off no problem.

I'm bf too, I've been giving myself 500 cals per day thank god otherwise I'd starve.

RGPargy · 22/02/2012 23:08

Hi Newbies and welcome!! Feel free to add me on MFP - same user name as here. Deffo add more cals if you are exclusively BF! Congratulations too on your new little bundles! :o

Well done on all the weight losses going on! :o

Penguin - I hurt my knee in the most stupid way.Blush I was getting up from the dining table and my foot caught the table leg, which meant that my foot stayed straight but my knee twisted in the direction i was trying to move. Nothing very dramatic or even sports related unfortunately! Most of the time it aches a bit, especially after i've exercised but a couple of weeks ago i had the pleasure of an ache-free knee for a while but i overdid it in a few step classes and did a certain move i kind of knew might aggrevate my knee. I was right and now i'm paying the price - with just over a week to go before my fitness weekender at Camber! Hmm

Snakeonaplane · 22/02/2012 23:42

RG have added youSmile

annieshaf · 23/02/2012 08:14

Snakeonaplane · 23/02/2012 08:58

Have added you annie.

Snakeonaplane · 23/02/2012 09:01

Today's going to be a tough day, baby had her first ever bad night and needed feeding what felt like every hour, I'm sure I'll be craving sugar and caffeine to keep me awake.

IBlameThePenguins · 23/02/2012 10:20

Oh snake. I remember those days all too well. My.dd was the most dreadful sleeper for a while. there.were some days when that odd sort of tiredness nausea set in, where all I did was drink tea and graze! now I always try and get out for a good walk instead. The fresh air cheers us both up, and the excercise makes me less likely to munch all afternoon!

Oh rgparry, that sounds horrid! Really hope it fixes up properly soon! I started step a few weeks ago. I enjoyed it, but my co-ordination was dreadful!

I must say mfp has been a total 'lightbulb moment' for me. It makes something I've really struggle with seem so much easier!

Snakeonaplane · 23/02/2012 10:54

I'm hoping it was just a blip, my older 2 were the worst sleepers but dd had been sleeping through most nights from around 7 weeks should've known it was too good to be true. I actually think in the first couple of months after a baby is the easiest time to put on weight, tired no time to prepare food, shop etc.

I'm fi ding MFP great, dh is doing it with me he's lost 8kg and is now just 2 kg of his goal weight. He needs to maintain a certain weight as part of his job and has always struggled with this, loves his food and ends up having to low carb a lot to get quick results but he has had the most dramatic long term weightloss in the easiest way with MFP which is encouraging me.

jchocchip · 23/02/2012 22:52

Hi newbies, just marking my place. First time I've felt in control of my weight for years! I'll be here for a while, aiming to lose at least 5 stone more...

IBlameThePenguins · 24/02/2012 11:40

It's a bit of an epiphany isn't it!? Snakes, I told my dp that your dh has found it handy, and it's inspired him to give a go too!

I managed a walk yesterday. Felt better for the fresh air, but it hurt afterwards!

We are also trying to cut wheat out as much as possible after reading threads on here. I've just bought some quinoa-anyone have any good recipes?

Hope today's a good day for everyone. Thanks to those who have added me, it's a real support to have some ' friends' on mfp! X

Snakeonaplane · 24/02/2012 17:21

penguins that's good about your dh. I always feel really good when I cut out wheat and dairy but it's such a faff having to make separate stuff for the dc and I bloody love bread and lattes.

GeekLove · 24/02/2012 19:39

It's always worthwhile on MFP to check your nutrient breakdown as well as calories in. This way I have identified that I eat WAY too much fat and could do with eating more lean protein to lower my carbs!

saynothing · 24/02/2012 21:18

I have a gluten and dairy allergy snakeonaplane so don't really have a choice about cutting them out. Its hard and sometimes I eat them but I find if I go too long without then if I have no choice but to eat them, my symptoms are far worse. So try not to go cold turkey.

I def feel better for avoiding them anyway, although it's a bloody torture at times! My MFP name is inspireme123 if u want to add me.

needthistowork · 24/02/2012 21:37

I have just logged my food for my first 2 days, i have gone over my calories by about 300 a day but am still positive as it is showing me where i was going wrong.

I had a craving/fancy for apple juice in pregnancy which i have continued and only looking at the calories now. I have been drinking 400 cals a day in apple juice Shock

I have been snaking on humus and crackers thinking that was healthy but looking at the cals now and its high. Any ideas for vegetarian filling snacks?

jchocchip · 24/02/2012 21:47

Waah lost my post.
