Hi all. I know there are several other Dukan threads out there, but I wondered if anyone else is starting this week due to Daily Mail media coverage.
Anyone else on the attack phase???

OP posts:

Snuppeline Phew, someone else who has to order from menus a fair bit and try and blend in Grin.

Agree it is easier when on a PV day and so I am going to try and re-jig as much as a I can.

Or take the three year old with me to work lunches as she can eat my chips Wink

foreverondiet · 16/08/2011 23:33

Just switch things around if going out for a meal, and anyway I found that I ended up losing the same/more doing all PV (because when PP ate so much dairy).

Eating some broccoli or salad to avoid looking silly when out for lunch will not ruin the diet. You can always do PP for the rest of the day.

When out I ask them to bring without potatoes etc but with extra salad, then not even tempted when it comes.

killercat · 17/08/2011 10:21

I lost another lb this morning so feeling much better Grin

Can anyone help me with the issue about dairy though? Here is the only place I have seen any issue with eating too much diary/it not helping with weight loss...? I keep looking in the book and on the dukan website but I must be missing something as I thought non-fat fromage fraise, non-fat natural yogurt, etc are all in the 'eat as much as you like' category? The only thing I remember reading is to keep skimmed milk to half a pint a day, but I can't even find that now!

HighHeidYin · 17/08/2011 14:22

Wow, where did everyone appear from? Thought I had well and truly killed the thread!

dizzy thanks so much of your kind offer of sending me oatbran. However my order finally arrived and I made the most delicious galette yesterday Grin

Have lost 7lbs so far and it is all going well. Except it is totm and I have an excruciating headache and am craving lager(??!!) for some reason.

And our oldest guinea pig died at 2am this morning Sad The girls were so upset. But they have another 4 to help them get over it.

Anyway, glad everyone is doing so well. Off to the hosp now for a scan on my kidneys... bbl!

prettypurpledaisy · 17/08/2011 21:44

Has anyone made the oatbran cookies? I found the porridge awful so dont want to try that again but thought the cookies sounded better.
I am no cook so don't want to waste time making them.
Thanks everyone.

killercat · 18/08/2011 13:52

Hello Prettypurpledaisy.

I haven't made the cookies, but I have made the cupcakes and they were GROSS. Absolutely rank. So an anti-recommendation for those in case you were thinking along general baking lines Grin

How have you tried the porridge? I didn't like it much at first but now have it with cinnamon and really like that (plus a little sweetner).

DizzyDummy · 19/08/2011 10:46

Morning ladies! How are we all doing? I have had a bad couple of days due to TOTM (not my fault) and lunch out yesterday (totally my fault) Blush. Had got down to 14lbs lost but have put 1.5lbs back on so its PP only for the next few days as I still have 2 stone to lose!

prettypurpledaisy · 21/08/2011 16:34

Quick update on the cookies, they are actually quite nice and make a change from having the oatbran in yoghurt. So far have lost 10lb and DD 11lb but as yet do not look any slimmer :( nor are my clothes looser.
Haddock for tea as P day today.

HighHeidYin · 27/08/2011 11:46

Hello! Very quiet on here these days. Just wondering how everyone is getting on?

Have lost 10lbs so far on Dukan (20lbs in total including the ten I lost on ww) and have 20 to go. Can't believe I am back down into the tens now - very exciting! Haven't been this weight for years.

Needing to buy new clothes as everything is hanging on me. Have had loads and loads of comments on how much better I am looking and my confidence has increased in bounds!

Am well into my stride with Dukan now and finding it very easy and loving it. Feeling incredibly healthy and full of energy and my skin look amazing! Am so pleased that I have found a diet that a) works and b) suits me and my lifestyle down to the ground.

Have had quite a few nights out and parties but haven't been tempted once to stray!

Anyway, thought I would update you and encourage you all to keep going - it really DOES work!

prettypurple, are you seeing a difference yet? And are you measuring?

ggirl · 27/08/2011 12:50

hi , well done on everyones losses.
I've lost 15lbs so far and feel so much better.
Tbh I am not so strict about the pp/pv days , generally I stick to pp during the day and allow myself some veg with my evening meal.
Have also allowed myself the occassional wine or g&t and it hasn't stalled me yet.

HighHeidYin · 27/08/2011 19:49

Wow ggirl, that's great - over a stone lost!

I don't lose very quickly and couldn't cope with a lengthy stall so haven't risked having anything off the diet.

Great that you can and get away with it! Envy

DizzyDummy · 31/08/2011 10:41

Hi all!! I'm still on it and even with a couple of small slip-ups I have lost 17lbs so far, I am sooo thrilled with this diet, like Yin said, it fits in with my lifestyle perfectly and I still can't believe that I hardly ever feel hungry Grin Onwards and upwards ladies woohoo!!

ggirl · 31/08/2011 15:08

Excellent dizzydummy ,well done.

Are all your clothes hanging off you?

Snuppeline · 31/08/2011 15:35

wow everyone are doing so well!

I've stagnated slightly I think as I've been the same weight for three days now but I am hoping it will jump down tomorrow. If it hasn't I'm going to do a 3-day PP. It may be down to me having wine over the bank holiday weekend (two glasses over three days, so not good!). I've yet to stray from the diet in any other way though I was desperate for some chocolate a couple of days ago. One of my favorites which you can only get in France suddenly appeared in Waitrose (in a introductory offer isle...I hadn't randomly sauntered into the confectionaries isle - honest!) and I ended up buying a bar though haven't touched it. Will stay strong but I must admit I'm finding it harder right now, not seeing results is getting to me.

I've lost 13lbs so far, 33 to go...

ggirl · 31/08/2011 18:13

wow at not deviating AT all....well done!!
I am supping a glass of red atm, had two last night and still lost a lb today. I find that relaxing a bt helps me to stay on the diet and not go completely mad and binge.
I find I need to take something to make me poo though..sorry tmi.

prettypurpledaisy · 31/08/2011 20:53

Glad you are all still here thought I had killed the thread last time I posted.
Well done on your weight loss everyone, I have lost a stone so far and have reached my real weight according to Dukan website but would like to shift a little bit more. DD has lost a little more than me but she has more to go (at least 7lb bless her) so we will stay on it together but now I am back at work I may sneak in the occasional wine :)

DizzyDummy · 31/08/2011 21:03

Sadly my clothes aren't quite hanging off me yet as I still have at least another stone or so to go but things are definitely looser! Agree with ggirl about the occasional treat keeping me on the straight and narrow. Bunged up with cold atm and that would usually have me heading to the fridge to eat something 'to make me feel better' but it's not happening and I am chuffed.

oncemorewithfeeling · 02/09/2011 08:17

This seems to be the most active dukan thread. I thought I would post my progress as am feeling v pleased. I started last thursday, did five attack days, now on cruise. I have lost 1.7kgs. I am feeling really good, less cravings etc. Yay me!

Big plus: I have discovered tofu, esp silken tofu which I am using to make smoothies. Really good and v high protein

I hope there's still other dukaners out there Smile
