Hi all. I know there are several other Dukan threads out there, but I wondered if anyone else is starting this week due to Daily Mail media coverage.
Anyone else on the attack phase???

Wow, 3 inches from your waist + 4 from hips is fantastic.
I have not actually measured myself yet as it was bad enough realising just how fat cuddly I was.

Evening all, may I join in please? I started the diet on Monday and as I have 3 stone to lose Blush I will try and stick to the attack stage for at least 7 days. Not finding it too hard but missing fruit and veg. Weighed myself this morning and have lost 4lbs in 2 days so well pleased! I have the galette for breakfast with splenda and lemon juice on it and convince myself it's a pancake!!

harrietlichman · 28/07/2011 06:14

I had my first real sense of missing certain foods last night - had a craving for chips with mayo and chilli sauce! So far I have stuck to the diet so strictly, am determined to carry on but I too am bored with eggs and fish! Went on a picnic with my kids and mum yesterday and while they had ham rolls, crisps and biscuits, I had a little bowl of tuna, boiled eggs and cottage cheese. Felt very Envy! I am sure it's been mentioned already but the blog 'my dukan diary' has some excellent recipes - can recommend the pepper/mushroom sauce one for PV days. Am on PV today - thank God! Never thought I would see so much joy in a chunk of cucumber...

Piffle · 28/07/2011 09:11

I blew it last night... Curry and beer
Though
Half a curry and some grilled chicken and plain boiled rice and salad
Only 2 beers
Scales say I'm 200g heavier but you know I needed a blow out
Back focussed now...
Scrambled eggs smoked salmon brekkie

Lunch cold meat cottage cheese and will make muffins again
Dinner beef casserole, lean beef, mushrooms etc on bed of cabbage

Tomorrow total PP
Then PV over weekend

harrietlichman · 28/07/2011 10:42

Piffle what are the muffins like? I need to experiment with a few new things to stave off the boredom. Am now day-dreaming about curry and beer!

ninjanurse · 28/07/2011 14:36

Hello all, pleased to report total loss after 7 days was 8.5 pounds, thats with 5 days of attack. Finding the PP days a bit of a bore already but PV days are easy enough.
I have my oatbran in a pancake thing but there is a recipe for oatbran cookies, which sounds like it might be nice.
Piffle - I made a nice PV chicken curry last night for dinner, it was lovely!

ggirl · 28/07/2011 23:22

well done ninjanurse!
that's a great weight loss

I am only on day 2 but feel good. I need to get to grips with actually having proper meals and not just grabbing some meat out of the fridge .

Have been looking for fat free cottage cheese with no luck ,anyone found some. Got some 1.4% in waitrose.

Bloodymary · 29/07/2011 08:05

Well I am on day 10 and have managed to gain 1lb!
Tho I was bought a glass of wine yesterday (before I could say no) and it would have been rude to say no Wink

Mmm, curry and beer sounds soo good.

I also use the 1.4% cottage cheese from Waitrose, it is so hard to find a fat free one.

Anybody know where we can buy some???????

Day 10 and lost 10lb as per my pre-coffee weigh in this morning! I am really pleased with this but my heart actually sank when I realised I am on a pp day today...I am so bored with it! I am missing carbs so much (in the form of jacket potatoes, chips, pasta and almost licked the windows of a bakery I walked past yesterday) I don't know if I am going to be able to continue till the next phase....

ggirl · 29/07/2011 11:44

lol at licking the bakery windows

I am only on day 3 of attack and I have lost 5lbs alreadyShock

ninjanurse · 29/07/2011 11:59

Harriet - thats great, well done!

I must confess that yesterday evening instead of my dinner, I had a cherry muffin and 10 malteasers [hangs head in shame]. Am hoping it wont make too much difference on the scales. Am going to try not to weigh myself til next wednesday now, think I am gettinga bit obsessive with the daily weighing.

BuckBuckMcFate · 29/07/2011 12:11

Grin at bakery licking and 10 maltesers dinner!

Well I've still not managed a PP day yet, going food shopping later so will stock up and I WILL do it tomorrow.

I'm still really pleased with how it's going. I'm wearing a pair of jeans that I couldn't get in before i was pregnant today woo hoo.

And, confession time, I've been having a bar of chocolate everyday and a scoop of ice cream every evening too!

Generally feeling much better about myself, I think I physically feel lighter too, though that could all be in my head, and while I'm still in quarantine with c pox, I'm doing lots of dancing during the day to make up for not being able to do any exercise.

Keep on everyone!

DizzyDummy · 29/07/2011 15:33

Day 5 of attack and I have lost 5lbs!!! YAY!! Not missing carbs at the moment but have had a horrid taste in my mouth for the past 3 days Sad. Any ideas anyone? Managed to go shopping today without buying my usual weekend bottle of wine (or 2) Grin. Well done everyone.

harrietlichman · 29/07/2011 17:50

Well done everyone! It is so motivating, how much weight you can lose on this diet. I was feeling really fed up yesterday, but had a good pp day today and decided I am going to treat myself to a glass (but only a glass, mind!) of wine tonight with my tea (sirloin steak served on a bed of fresh air and a side order of empty plate) Jest because I feel like I need a treat after being like a bloody saint for 10 days - I accept that it will slow down my weight loss but I feel like it, so am having one!
I too am weighting daily ninjanurse I know what you mean about getting a bit obsessive about it - I am going to carry on with it though, especially since I am deviating a bit tonight so I can keep on top of things. Good weekend everyone!

SoftKittyWarmKitty · 29/07/2011 18:23

I'm on day 1 of attack and while I'm not hungry, I'm struggling with how to make a meal out of PP items. I had two poached eggs on ham for breakfast, baked fish for dinner and just made a PP chicken curry for tea which was lovely (DS had rice with his). But I could do with some good recipes of what to cook while on PP days - any suggestions?

Also, I made one of those galette things but it was vile. Not sure what I did wrong but won't be bothering again. Urgh. Going to give the oatbran porridge a try in the morning, but for now I'm just aiming to get through this evening, as I usually eat crap graze while watching tv.

Bloodymary · 29/07/2011 19:22

I know SoftKitty, the evenings are hard arent they, I would normally have a glass of wine and some cheese in my hand by now!
I do not usually do recipes as such on PP days, just chunks of meat! I often have a really nice fillet steak as a treat (albeit an expensive one)!
I do not like the galettes or the porridge, so I have my oatbran stirred into fat free yogurt.
Good luck with the weekend.

Dh made me pot silverside roast beef tonight. Was yummy served with gravy made with onion/garlic and low sodium stock cube , was absolutely delicious.
Have got plenty left over to have tomorrow.

Went to asda in search of non fat c.cheese. Their selection of cottage cheese is dire to say the least , asda brand only.

SoftKittyWarmKitty · 29/07/2011 19:50

In desperation at needing a snack tonight, I've just made oat bran cookies (well, they come out more like muffins really), and they are surprisingly edible. I made ten. Two gone already and it's not even 8pm.Hmm

ninjanurse · 29/07/2011 20:04

Soft Kitty - I have got those in the oven right now!! Im hoping they will just be just the thing to replace my normal friday night munch of chocs and biscuits. I have the galette for brekkie usually and find them ok - have you been putting enough sugar in?

harrietlichman · 29/07/2011 20:05

For my pp evenng meal I usually just have plain meat or fish too - prawn ommelette is nice and filling and feels more like a meal, though I struggle with making ommelettes without using oil in the pan - sometimes comes out more like scrambled egg!

ednurse · 29/07/2011 20:29

I started it today. Had smoked salmon and scrambled egg for breakfast, salmon fillet for lunch and two chicken breasts with garlic and herbs for dinner. Also had a muller light yogurt.

Weighed 61kg this morning, want to get to 57kg.

ninjanurse · 29/07/2011 20:32

My oatban cookies were absolutely horrible! [sobs] Am going to have to rifle the upboards in search of something else suitable to munch on [shuffles sadly to kitchen]

flakemum · 29/07/2011 20:34

Never made galette pancake but am I strange for loving oatbran porridge?

BuckBuckMcFate · 29/07/2011 21:09

Yes flakemum, very very strange.

Do you do something special to make it edible?Grin

SoftKittyWarmKitty · 30/07/2011 18:13

Right, after almost passing out in the park today from lack of decent food, I've decided Dukan isn't for me. Have just had a chicken salad and feel much better already. Having looked into it a bit more, it's quite hard on the kidneys, which I wish I'd known before because I have kidney disease. So it's back to all food types for me!

Good luck to all of you losing weight with this method.
