Hi all. I know there are several other Dukan threads out there, but I wondered if anyone else is starting this week due to Daily Mail media coverage.
Anyone else on the attack phase???

Hi well i have lost 10lbs in 2 weeks now!!
Def think the muller lights and activia don't help me, didn't lose for 4 days unitl I stopped them.
I also think the fact I am not having wine every night is a huge factor. Have been meaning to cut down for ages. Dh who doens't need to lose has started drinking a cider every night to stop the wine being a temptation for me.
Interestingly I have noticed that my resting pulse has gone down. I had a high resting pulse of 100 before and was actually going to see the Dr about it.Now it is 80 !
BP slightly lower as well. So don't know if that's the booze or the carbs. My pulse was high on days I didn't have booze as well.
Anyway all good new here.

DizzyDummy · 10/08/2011 13:05

Well done ggirl for losing 10 lbs! I read earlier in the thread (I think) that you were having trouble after the attack phase so good on you for perservering!!

forever you were quite right about the Vanilla Activia, does have sugar in it so this mornng I tried Greek yogurt with sweetener on it which was fine.

prettypurpledaisy · 10/08/2011 15:34

Can I join? My DD and I have just started, first of three days of attack.
I need to lose a stone and my DD slightly more.
Not bad so far...............

cordiality · 10/08/2011 16:41

Thanks for the advice guys, I will chuck out all the flavoured yoghurts I bought and start making my own! Think I need to go buy some vanilla essence, mine went off in 2008... Blush

HighHeidYin · 10/08/2011 22:02

Evening all!

Welcome to all new starts (yaaay I'm not the newbie any more!)

dizzy thanks Smile Have lost 4lbs now so feeling very pleased as this is day 3 of attack. Will see what tomorrow morning brings.

Had loads of chicken today which was lovely. Although I made mayonnaise from a recipe in the book but put too much mustard in. Ugh. Not nice. Will try it again but with minimal amount of mustard.

I haven't been able to get exercising though which is worrying me. And my oatbran hasn't arrived yet Hmm

Oh well, will just have to get on with it the best I can until it arrives.

ggirl that's fantastic! So jealous!

HighHeidYin · 11/08/2011 10:27

Last day of attack for me. Has gone well except for the lack of oatbran and not enough exercise... Really, really hoping the oatbran arrives today! And am going to do an exercise DVD as stuck in all day waiting for the boiler to be serviced.

Headache has finally gone but have a weird taste in my mouth today, which shows I must be doing something right I suppose!

Must go have some breakfast. How is everyone doing?

wickedfairy · 11/08/2011 10:51

Well I am on day4 and weighed myself first thing this morning - have lost 4lbs, so I am very pleased! Will do a full week on attack and then move onto cruise phase.

hopefully my (and everyone elses) weight keeps dropping Smile

HighHeidYin · 11/08/2011 12:08

Well done - that's a great start!

DizzyDummy · 11/08/2011 14:36

prettypurpledaisy welcome to you and your DD!

HHYin I too have the horrible taste in my mouth, don't know what causes it but it's worth it! Can't you get oatbran from your supermarket? I get mine in Morrisons (it was well hidden though)

Wickedfairy fantastic news! well done! I have now lost around 12lbs but it has been a bit slow-going for the past few days, don't know whether it is because I haven't had a proper poo for a few days (sorry if TMI). One down side is that my boobs seem to be deflating at an alarming rate Sad Grin

prettypurpledaisy · 11/08/2011 20:07

Well day 2 nearly over, had a delicious dinner of haddock, prawns, tuna and cottage cheese. How soon should I weigh myself? DD has a headache but is enjoying it so far.
Missing cheese and wine :(
One more day off attack and then some vegetables :).

HighHeidYin · 11/08/2011 21:43

Oooo dizzy wish my boobs deflate at an alarming rate!!

Have tried all the supermarkets round here for oatbran, plus the health shop and Holland and Barrett - absolutely zilch. So had no option but to order over the net. It better come tomorrow as I am feeling very hard done by!

pretty I weigh myself every day but whether that is recommended or not I don't know. I guess it is what works best for you. It motivates me tbh. Is nothing worse than sticking to a diet all week then having a nasty surprise if havent lost as weigh in day. At least weighing every day I am prepared for the fluctuations and the blow is less severe.

Am going to do one more day of Attack I've decided, (since I don't have the oatbran and haven't managed to walk every day) so have been out and bought everything in for tomorrow. Making chicken curry from a recipe in the book.

Will be in the office all day tomorrow, and probably in the evening too as have loads to catch up on, but will pop on at some point. Have a good day tomorrow everyone!

TaffyandTeenyTaffy · 11/08/2011 23:47

Hello - I am on day 5 - 1st day of Cruise for me. I am 6.5lbs down already! (Switching from SW as my weight loss stalled)
Didnt think I would be able to stick to this but actually finding it great....just need to try a few recipes now.

foreverondiet · 11/08/2011 23:51

I get the oatbran from tesco its their own brand - can you not do a tesco online delivery?

HighHeidYin · 12/08/2011 13:54

Hi Taffy (think I recognise you from elsewhere Wink ). You are doing sooo well! Will be good to swap recipes when I revert to Cruise tomorrow.

forever Why didn't I think of doing an online shop with Tesco and getting it there? Have checked and it is available!!!! I just assumed that if it wasn't in my local store they wouldn't be able to deliver it. Mind you, there's a possibility they would substitute it when they find it isn't there...

Hopefully it will have arrived today (pleeeeaassse for the love of all that is good and holy!!!).

DizzyDummy · 12/08/2011 14:56

Hi Yin hope your oatbran has arrived, I know i'm a bit weird but I really like it. You may be OK with your boobs deflating but I AM NOT!!Angry Angry Angry I have precious few good points body-wise and they are 50% of them!

Taffy well done! That's a brillaint loss so far.

Pretty I also weigh myself every day (sometimes twice a day) mainly because I want to know whether I am going in the right direction and if not what do I need to alter to get back to losing again.

prettypurpledaisy · 12/08/2011 14:57

Quick question, when I did the Atkins diet I had protein bars which were allowed on that are they allowed on Dukan? Probably not but thought I would ask. I have lost 2lb so far and 3 so we are happy :)

DizzyDummy · 12/08/2011 14:57

'brilliant' not 'brillaint' Blush

HighHeidYin · 12/08/2011 18:25

Aaargh typed a big reply and lost it! Stoopid laptop.

dizzy flippin' oatbran STILL hasn't arrived Angry I phoned the shop yesterday and asked for the package tracking number but they said they would only give it to me after 5 working days, which is Monday. Am not happy. Am going to phone round all the health shops within a 10 mile radius and get some from someplace tomorrow....

and Grin at your boobs being 50% of your best assets Grin Not going to ask where the other 50% is!

pretty I've only been on the diet for a nanosecond so you can take what I say with a pinch of salt... but from reading the book I would say no. The general rule seems to be that if it isn't on the list, it shouldn't be in the diet.

And considering Atkins contains foods which tend to be high in fat, I would imagine the protein bars might contain a substantial amount too, but perhaps you could check the fat content on the nutrition label.

Anyway, that's my tuppence worth Smile

HighHeidYin · 12/08/2011 18:26

And well done on your 2lb loss! Smile

DizzyDummy · 13/08/2011 14:27

Grin Grin Yin it did sound a bit odd didn't it but no my, ahem , downstairs area Blush is not the other 50% Grin. You know that after all the faffing about to get your oatbran, you probably won't like it, I've maybe hyped it up too much!

Hope all you ladies are having a a good weekend on your diets, my DS had pizza for lunch and I ALWAYS nick a piece or 2 as I LOVE it but found it sooo easy to resist, dead chuffed Grin

HighHeidYin · 13/08/2011 19:48

Hype oatbran up all you like dizzy. I'm destined to never, ever try it.

Phoned around every shop in the area today and found someone that had one bag left!!! They said they had had a rush on them but would put it aside for me.

My oldest dds were going into town so I asked them to pick it up for me, very excitedly!

They both arrived home and I ran through to get my oatbran, only to be told they hadn't bothered go get it for me. Was livid!! Angry

So I STILL don't have any! I give up

After that I was so fed up that I had too much veg for dinner. So won't lose tomorrow probably. Sad

DizzyDummy · 13/08/2011 22:10

Yin If you have no joy getting the oatbran, PM me your address and I'll send you some! > Wink

I hope you didn't give your dds any tea as punishment, how very dare they!

ggirl · 14/08/2011 10:03

Hi everyone.
Have lost another lb today , so 11lbs in total (2.5 wks)
Really must try and do the walking EVERY day.
The oatbran is nice but I must admit I use about 2 heaped tablespoons to make my porridge. My bowels need it.

I had a bit of a binge the other night and had 3 packets of snack-a-jacks Blush. Felt good at the time but strangely made my heart race , I think bad carbs really don't suit my body. Quite a good reminder for me everytime I think about cheating.

cordiality · 14/08/2011 10:07

Has anyone else not lost loads of weight during the attack phase?! I'm now on my sixth and final day of attack, have followed everything to the letter, not had any slips and I reckon I've lost about 1.5 pounds. Max. I start cruise tomorrow, when your weight loss is meant to slow... to what? Nothing?!

I'm feeling a bit disheartened if I'm honest. I'm so jealous reading about everyone else's fantastic losses.

Does anyone have any sage words of advice? Sad

ggirl · 14/08/2011 11:01

cordiality depends how much you have to lose

I have 3.5 stone to lose and lost 7lbs in the attack phase ,so probably mostly water .

Maybe you aren't bloated with excess water from eating excess carbs like me?

Also I find when I don't drink enough I don't lose.

Feel for you though, if you don't see results it is very disheartening. Do your clothes feel looser?
