I've had the 30 day shred for around a month. I've done three days at the start of the month and then "missed" a day and didnt pick it back up.

I have a wedding in a month and I have to shift the tummy.Plus i've recently had my hair cropped and now my face looks like a turnip.(bad dying escapade!)

Who's with me?Lets do it together and spur each other on!!

Starting tomorrow!

all the other threads are further on so I thought i's start a new one.

L1D10 done! Mentally preparing myself for L2 tomorrow. Will do it in the morning to get it over and done with and then enjoy the rest of the day. DD's at my parents so going out for a pizza and cinema with DH using our Tesco vouchers. Will try not to gorge on too much stodge and undo all the hard work.

pleasethanks · 13/08/2011 11:45

Gee wizz, just done D1 of L1. Did not know it was possible to sweat so much in 20 mins.

SlinkyB · 13/08/2011 21:59

Thanks mynameis , have actually decided to take a full week off now and start afresh next week when I've got more energy and motivation .

Has anyone done L1 and then carried on to L2 in one go?! Am thinking of giving it a go next week; it's only 50 minutes, right?! Could call it turbo-shredding as I've had a week off and need to play catch-up...if you don't ever see me again, it's been nice knowing you all ! Wink

MyNameIsInigoMontoya · 13/08/2011 23:06

Well I had a day off yesterday cos had a crazy day getting ready for visitors and then they all turned up, so never got even 20 minutes to myself.

But did L2D2 today even with all the visitors here (some of them even joined in a bit for fun, but they cheated Grin) so am feeling quite proud of myself now!

posterofawolef · 13/08/2011 23:12

Have had a couple of days off because my back and baby were killing me. Back on today and still not quite good enough at the cardio to move up, I feel a bit better for your reassurance Clara!

Have noticed that my arms are firming up, everything else is hidden under flab but I'm sure it will be impressive when it emerges!

ellenbrody · 14/08/2011 11:21

L2D1 done yesterday - aaaargh! Sweat was POURING from places I did not know could sweat!
Am sitting here avoiding getting ready for D2, but my shoulders are killing me from yesterday.
Posterof - my arms feel a little firmer too!

SlinkyB · 14/08/2011 16:27

I found my shoulders really ached the first few days of L2, but it soon subsided. Gonna get back into it tomorrow after a week off, so hoping it's not all back to square one with the aches and pains!

JudysDreamHorse · 14/08/2011 18:20

Can I join please?
I've done L1 six times in the last fortnight but really need to start shredding more regularly as I start back at work 4 weeks tomorrow after mat leave and while technically I can do up most of my work clothes I'm not sure I can sit down in them. Think I'm going to be wearing stretchy dresses for a little while yet (and probably raising suspicions that I've come back to work pregnant).
I ached the first few times I did L1 (going up and down stairs was challenging) but I'm not finding it too tough now and am trying to follow the harder versions.
I've read scary things about L2 on here though so think I'm going to need something like this to keep me motivated.

CatPower · 14/08/2011 22:01

I'm starting tomorrow! I've found an exercise buddy and we're going to pester the hell out of eachother to make sure we shred every single day. I'm bloody terrified and more than a little out of shape but determined to give it a go.

Ifancyanewname · 15/08/2011 13:25

after a very hit and miss week last week I am rededicating myself to shredding!! did level 2 todat, is it wierd that i enjoy it more than level one? its just a bit more interesting, bloomin hard though. I always feel like im going to be sick after for a bit.

ellenbrody · 15/08/2011 19:22

L2D3 done today - yay! I feel like I turned a corner on D3, as I could do a lot more of it, I was exactly like that on L1, the 3rd day was the one where i 'got it'. I am sure my form is abysmal, I know I am not doing the plank jacks properly, nor the last ab exercise where you are in the plank position (I think planks may be the problem!!).

SlinkyB - Yes, my shoulders!! There is a lot more arm exercises in this level I think?

MyNameIsInigoMontoya · 15/08/2011 23:09

L2D3 for me today too, after another day off cos of the visitors yesterday.

I'm glad to have done it today, but feeling a bit down and demotivated at the same time for some reason... Sometimes I feel like I'm actually getting bigger/heavier rather than slimmer, and like I'm not really getting anywhere Sad Plus I am still finding L2 pretty hard and sweating buckets.

It might just be cos I am knackered after the weekend though, DH was poorly all weekend so I was looking after the kids and visitors myself, no lie-ins, then have been running round all day getting the house back to normal and now DS is poorly too... and now DH wants to know if we can all go camping at the weekend?!

SlinkyB · 16/08/2011 10:27

Ugh, camping, really?! Why don't you suggest he takes the kids by himself whilst you have some r+r?! You could package it as 'quality bonding time' or something? Wink

Well, I heard the immortal words "welcome to level 3 Baby!" this morning!! Never thought I'd get there tbh. I agree with whoever said that the transition from L1 to L2 is the hardest, though not sure if that's down to an increase in fitness, or because most of the moves are more familiar by now. Either way, I enjoyed it. Lots of jumpy moves, which I like.

Oh, I actually carried out my threat yesterday and did L1 then ff'd thru the cool-down and cracked straight on with L2 !! Felt amazing(ly knackered) after, though my knees really ached for the rest of the day. Slept well last night I can tell ya! :)

Keep shredding ladies!

MyNameIsInigoMontoya · 16/08/2011 11:00

Grin well I would quite happily send them off without me but I think that would be a bit too much, the DCs are still very small so it would be hard for one person to manage them while putting up tents etc. He has promised though that if we do go, he will take some time off work so I don't have to do all the packing on my own for once. And in a way I would like to go sometime (if not necessarily this weekend), as MIL wants to take the DCs camping with her and some friends soon (another story!) but DD has never been yet, so I would kind of like her first time to be with us. Will have to see if anyone else gets ill first though...

Congrats on getting to level 3! Are you going to get yourself a L3 treat?? Glad it is not too much worse than L2.

SlinkyB · 16/08/2011 11:40

Ooh, hadn't thought about giving myself a L3 treat . . . Will have to get my thinking cap on (and make it calorie-free, as am dieting too, and have lost almost a stone since starting my diet/exercise regime 7 weeks ago) Grin + .

Let's hope the weather improves before your dd's inaugral camping trip!

MyNameIsInigoMontoya · 16/08/2011 23:20

L2D4 today, am being very virtuous even though DH was half trying to talk me into a rest day! Think he is just jealous cos he can't do the weights Grin

Slinky I treated myself to a nice mug when I (finally) got to L2 cos it took me so many stops and starts to get there, it was one I'd wanted for ages, not too expensive and not fattening! Now got to work up to level 3...

Ifancyanewname · 17/08/2011 08:41

I'm feeing very proud of myself, managed to get day 2 of level 2 under my belt last night, I'd done a few days of level last week but I thought id better start dooin it each day this week as we are away for the weekend. It was half nine before i could get round to it and i was so tempted to veg on the sofa but i didnt!! woo hoo

JudysDreamHorse · 17/08/2011 09:15

I've done 8 days of L1 now and am getting really nervous about moving up to L2. The last few days have felt harder rather than easier and I still haven't got around to replacing the tins of pears I've been using as weights with anything heavier. Need to keep on trying on those work clothes for motivation!

ellenbrody · 17/08/2011 20:07

L2 D5 done! Dare I say that (whispers) I am liking it (shhh).
Definitely gets better, managing all plank exercises, form still dodgy though.
May even up the weights for some parts tomorrow!!

MyNameIsInigoMontoya · 17/08/2011 22:33

L2D5 for me too! But I am NOT liking it Envy still feel like I am going to die each time! How long till I get more used to it??

I am still really wobbly too, all over the place on all the lunges and one-leg things, and the plank stuff gives me a headrush Grin

SlinkyB · 18/08/2011 11:03

MyNameIs - I never liked L2! Made me feel sick and dizzy and took me ages to work up to Natalie-level. I got to about day 5 then decided to revert back to L1 for a day and found that made a difference, as all of a sudden starting thinking how "easy" L1 was?! So then cracked on with L2 with renewed energry; might be worth a try?

L3 D2 for me today; had to take yesterday off to rest as managed to strain my neck doing D1 on Tuesday. Was all my fault as was in full plank position, with handweights, straining to look at tv whilst raising one leg in the air ! But found it a struggle to turn head for rest of day/yesterday.

I'm liking the music a lot more on L3 which is helping the motivation...STILL doing Anita-style press-ups though Blush

bacon · 18/08/2011 11:39

Started this morning. With 450g tins of soup which is enough weight for starters. Unless you have worked on your arms in the past I wouldnt do heavier until you have built up the core.

I wont be moving onto L2 until I have built the energy up - I def leave it for 3 weeks or so and ignore the 30 day thing. I def believe it depends on you fitness levels and mine are minus! I wont be able to do it on a daily basis either.

I do need support for my massive jelly belly, the boobs are supported but the belly is bouncing!!!

Diet wise I'm just making my portions smaller and watching the carbs size. Luckily I dont drink much so thats a bonus.

ellenbrody · 18/08/2011 12:05

SlinkyB - I still do Anita press ups too, can't imagine EVER being able to do Natalie ones!
I used a slightly heavier set of weights (have set of 3, so used middle ones) for about half of it, sort of alternated.
I find the last circuit REALLY tough, those arm strength movements, then plank jacks then that killer plank ab move, my arms are like jelly at the moment. D6 done though.

MyNameIsInigoMontoya · 18/08/2011 12:43

I don't find the plank ab thing that bad actually, which makes me wonder if I am doing it wrong! It's not because I've got good abs, cos other ones like the holding-weights-and-moving-legs-up-and-down one are very hard.

I do hate those v-raises though - hated the straight-arm raises at the end of L1 too.

SlinkyB · 18/08/2011 14:57

The v-raises are one of the moves I definitely found easier as the days went by.

Oh, and I seldom did the plank-ab-twist things at the end of L2 as didn't feel I was doing it right (well, it didn't hurt, and I didn't feel sick or dizzy) so stuck to bicycle sit-ups instead as I needed to collapse on the floor for a rest I found them more effective.

Besides, I'm sure on L1 Jillian says bicycle crunches are the most effective ab workout?! Wink
