I've had the 30 day shred for around a month. I've done three days at the start of the month and then "missed" a day and didnt pick it back up.

I have a wedding in a month and I have to shift the tummy.Plus i've recently had my hair cropped and now my face looks like a turnip.(bad dying escapade!)

Who's with me?Lets do it together and spur each other on!!

Starting tomorrow!

all the other threads are further on so I thought i's start a new one.

No shredding for me today. DS is poorly and will only nap on me - preferably while I walk up and down.

Does pacing the room with a 20lb baby on your shoulder count as a day's shred? I had to do a fair amount of bouncing to get him to go to sleep, too Hmm

pleasethanks · 09/08/2011 15:07

Marking my place as I am expecting delivery of this any day now. My return to work is looming and I look like jabba

Nolda · 09/08/2011 17:41

CountBapula - I'm sure that counts. I hope DS is on the mend.

Get well, Twoboots!

Having got to day 2 level 2 I have been on holiday for a week. It started well with me getting a 6km run in but then I was struck down with a vomitting bug. The good news is I've lost the weight I needed to (hopefully it'll stay off) but the bad news is I'm now a feeble wreck. I did manage a level 1 shred on Sunday but I was close to passing out at some points. Will give it a go tonight as I'm feeling more myself (and I've just eaten a chocolate bar).

CareyHunt · 09/08/2011 19:00

day 5 level 1 today. It's getting much easier!

Does that mean I have to go up a level? ( I still have to do the press ups Anita style)

posterofawolef · 09/08/2011 20:15

L1D8 - finally getting a bit better. I am hoping to move up to level 2 at day 10 but only if I can do the circuit 1 cardio with no breathers ( currently having to have 1 5 second break ) and master the push up.

Get wells to all the poorly posters and babies Smile

kid · 09/08/2011 21:52

just completed level 1 day 4.
Can I ask if others noticed any difference in their shape while on level 1 and if so, when?
I think there is a difference for me but am guessing I am imagining it. Then again, my trousers I had on today were definitely looser and I had Macdonalds for lunch

SlinkyB · 09/08/2011 22:33

I think I started noticing a difference (feeling a little firmer all over and generally a wee bit fitter) around day 10. L1 made my knees ache, L2 my shoulders at first, but all that's gone now.

Day off today, my legs were seriously achy after really pushing myself Nat-style yesterday morning, then doing a lot of walking for the rest of the day. Raring to go for the morning now...

You think anyone's ever done 30 consecutive days?! I don't think it's very achievable in RL.

MyNameIsInigoMontoya · 09/08/2011 23:09

Phew, well finally managed to shred again today after 3 days off with the horrible cold, it turned out to be a really evil one so I couldn't have done it sooner! I'm quite pleased I managed tonight with only a teeeeny bit of slacking though, as the cold still isn't totally gone.

Not sure what day to count that as, cos I've stopped and started so many times, still on level 1 though but I'm determined to finally get to L2 soon!

I did it (shred that is Wink) with DH today! He has done it with me a few times now, I thought he would laugh at me or say it was soft girly exercise but actually he was quite impressed and Shock I am actually better than him at the weights stuff now (though his weights are slightly heavier), which is amazing cos he has always been much fitter and sportier than me! He wipes the floor with me on the cardio though, does star jumps etc at twice the Natalie speed...

kid I think I did notice a difference after doing L1 on and off for a bit, but sadly not that I have got slimmer but rather that some bits of me (esp arms) have actually got bigger... I am hoping the getting slimmer bit will come later. Sure I got heavier at first as well, I hope it is just muscle!

Does anyone else wobble horribly on the static lunges? I keep nearly falling over and having to stop and get my balance... anyone know how to keep steadier?

Clarabumps · 10/08/2011 08:59

I'm back in the land of the living! Shredded last night. wedding season is over so no more bad hangovers and I'm on day 5 approx of level 2.
Last night was terrible..think I was still sweating alcohol. SO glad I finished it. Plank jacks I no longer have to stop in the middle and Burpees I only have to pause once.
I don't think its really achievable to do 30 days one after the other. There's always going to be one day when you can't managehave a stinking hangover.
As long as we keep with it and try and make ourselves do it even when we can't be arsed. You know the feeling when its not unable to do it..its just you cannot be arsed getting off the couch!
When I was at that wedding at the weekend almost everyone commented on how much weight I'd lost. I haven't actually lost much at all but I certainly have toned up. I must admit it made it all worthwhile! Grin

First shred for a week. So L2 D3 really but I think I will class it as D1.

I was useless... no motivation what so ever, kept stopping thinking what is the point =/.
Hopefully motivation may come back, at least my chest feels better, I am hoping it won't go straight back to as bad as it was after today!

ellenbrody · 10/08/2011 09:37

Can I join?

Did L1 D7 yesterday, will do D8 later today. I had one day off on Sunday. I am trying to make use of the summer holidays as it won't be so easy to do come September when I'm back at work!

I have been trying to shred in the late afternoon/evening and then the next one the following morning IYSWIM, it feels like I have a bit of time off inbetween and means I don't need to wash my hair every day, because it does not tolerate that much attention!

I found the first 2 days a killer, then D3 suddenly seemed better (hope I was doing it right!). I am doing a mixture of Anita for some moves and Natalie for others, I find the cardio bits the most challenging (am SO unfit!), those jumping jacks and skips for 2 mins are nearly the end of me.

Clarabumps · 10/08/2011 12:08

Of Course ellenbrody! welcome welcome!!I do a mixture of Anita and Natalie..I just do what I can on that particular day.
Go for it!

Metal Sian your motivation will come back!Everyone has off days and you made the step and got back into it! Thats the main thing. Its so tempting just to say "bugger it- I'll just have another day off" just keep thinking 20 MINUTES! and your form will come back in a few days.
Don't lose heart and chin up!

Day 8 done (L1), I used my middle set of weights (Davina ones from Argos) for the chest fly's in the last strength section and then kept hold of them for the whole section, 2 hours later my arms are still shaking!
I have to take the weight thing slowly and build up bit by bit I think.

Only 2 more to go before I am at the dreaded L2!!

I looked at some of the threads on MFP which people have posted before and after shred photos for motivation. Keep going everyone!!

posterofawolef · 10/08/2011 21:51

L1D9- bit crap at cardio today but baby did keep me up all night so it would have been easy to skip it and I didn't. I think your right Clara, you just have to keep repeating it's just 20mins over and over. Very scared of level 2

MyNameIsInigoMontoya · 10/08/2011 23:12

Well I managed again today (despite MIL phoning for a long chat when I'd just got started!) and was going much better, so although that's only 2 days in a row since the last 3-day break I think it's time to venture level 2 either tomorrow or the day after! Though I am a bit scared too Grin Still can't do proper press-ups mind you...

ellen what is MFP? Would like to see those photos to give me some inspiration! Only a month to go until the holiday now and a lot of improvement needed before I dare get in a swimsuit in public (not sure whether I can ever wear a bikini again, however much I shred...).

Coconutfeet · 11/08/2011 08:23

Clara - It's nice when people start to notice isn't it.

L3 Day5 yesterday. I ache though. We're off on holiday on Sunday and part of me wishes I had a few more days to apply myself as I do think it's making a real difference. I'm still doing a mixture of Anita for the lower impact stuff, due to an ankle injury earlier this year and a dodgy knee, and Natalie for the rest. I think it's important to just do it, whichever one you do.

Clarabumps · 11/08/2011 08:27

Poster- having been in level 2 for a few days now its not that scary. The forst time you do it it seems like a HUGE jump from level one but no more than doing level one for the first time and it is getting easier!!x

WhoWhoWhoWho · 11/08/2011 10:15

I've had two days off Blush - TBH I think it is that I am bored of level 1, but not sure I am physically ready for level 2 (I lost count of days I've done it in a row). Confused

I might give L2 a go today. Hmm

I get all wobbly doing static lunges too, and at the cooldown where you stand on one leg holding the other foot, I have to hold onto something or fall over. My balance and co-ordination are terrible!!

Nolda · 11/08/2011 10:22

Back on to level 2 last night and my butt and my shoulders are a bit achey this morning. I think'll count that as Level 2 day 1 though. I hate level 3 the most and anything to put that off for a bit.

MyNameisInigoMontoya - don't let the press ups put you off. Although I can't do proper pressups, I can do the walking press ups in level 2 because it's just one at a time rather than a set, one after the other, if you understand what I mean.

ellenbrody · 11/08/2011 16:20

Mynameis, MFP is My Fitness Pal, a website where you can track what you eat and input your exercise. It is very useful, but you need to be very obsessive disciplined and put in EVERYTHING you eat! The website has chat forums and one entitled 'success stories', it has a few shred success stories, makes good reading!

D9L1 completed this morning, I managed to use the middle weights for half of it. Dreading L2!

SlinkyB · 11/08/2011 16:36

Haven't shredded for a couple of days and feel bad about it :( Feel like I'm un-doing all the good work, but it's because I have a cold and feel rotten, so at least I have a good excuse reason?! Figured trying to do jumping jacks when you're an overweight asthmatic with a cold wouldn't be the best idea Wink

Am technically supposed to be on L2 D10, but can't see my progressing to L3 for a few more days yet.

Keep up the good work everybody!

MetalSian · 11/08/2011 19:46

Forced myself into it again today.
I hope by tomorrow I will be back in the routine.

Still lacking motivation, but trying to kick myself up the bum xD.
So tomorrow is L2 D5, think I may need to do more than this after having a week off though.

SugarSkyHigh · 11/08/2011 19:49

I have ordered the DVD and a set of weights from amazon

MyNameIsInigoMontoya · 11/08/2011 23:36

Thanks ellen, I found the pictures and they were quite impressive!

Saying that I tried L2 for the first time tonight and found out just how they got those results, it's pretty tough!! Lots of "weird" exercises too, though some are actually quite fun like the skating thing. But I suppose just like L1 it will be a case of just toughing it out until it starts to get a bit easier.

Anyway I'm feeling chuffed to have got that far, I decided to give myself a little treat each time I go up a level so am just about to order myself a fab mug I've been coveting for a while Grin

Slinky have a nice rest, else you will just end up making yourself worse and have to have more time off. I don't think a few days off really makes that much difference as long as you go back to it when you're feeling better.
