I've had the 30 day shred for around a month. I've done three days at the start of the month and then "missed" a day and didnt pick it back up.

I have a wedding in a month and I have to shift the tummy.Plus i've recently had my hair cropped and now my face looks like a turnip.(bad dying escapade!)

Who's with me?Lets do it together and spur each other on!!

Starting tomorrow!

all the other threads are further on so I thought i's start a new one.

Ifancyanewname- well done!

I only have one photo of me currently but its bad enough to motivate me Sad

L1 D4 - much harder than yesterday due to an achey back. I think I need to stretch it more at the start.

kid · 04/08/2011 17:12

Just read my message again. When I wrote
'I thought I was tiny but fit but now I'm not so sure'
It should have been 'I thought I was a tiny bit fit but now I'm not so sure'
Believe me, I am not tiny Grin

I didn't have any weights to use today (DS borrowed them and has mislaid them in his tip of a bedroom) so I just did the action. That was hard enough, my arms were killing me! I do think it works as it was really hard for such a short workout.

WhoWhoWhoWho · 04/08/2011 18:35

Can I join in please? I'm seriously lacking in and energy and havwe had the idea that FORCING myself to do some daily exercise might give me some energy, endorphins and all that. Hmm

I have the shred DVD as I tried it a while back but hurt my knees. Maybe from doing it barefoot it seems from reading a post on this thread (whoops!).

I have done day 3 today on level one and feel so pleased with myself and knackered afterward!

I have 2 stone to lose so am trying to eat healthier too while I shred.

Will have to watch level 2 for a sneak peak as I want to see what all this talk of planks is about.

Ifancyanewname · 04/08/2011 20:14

oh my gosh, i did level 2 today...its soooo hard! I cant see that I'll ever be able to do that many planks, that one at the end where you bring your knee across is impossible!I'm thinking if i kep doing it every day it'll gt easier right?
I've gone back to the wobbly legged feeling fromthe early days of level one. Can i just ask if anyone else struggles to keep good form and keep up with them?

kid · 04/08/2011 23:08

It's not even the day after yet and I'm aching already!
Think I'll do some stretches before I go to bed in the hope that will help.
Was a tiny, tiny bit tempted to do another shred tonight but realised that would be stupid Grin

mamasunshine · 04/08/2011 23:09

L1 day 3 done Smile So pleased that I actually got around to doing it today, I could feel the excuses coming on..but it's ONLY 20mins! It was harder today, I used my 1kg weights that arrived this morning, and it was much harder than using tinned beans Grin

Feel great once i've done it though. Really dreading getting onto L2 but still 7 days of shred before then!

I took photos/measurements and weight before. Planning on taking more etc at the end of each level to see if any changes. Diet wise I've just cut out choc/sweets as bf so would be starving if ate any less (prob not completely true Blush)!

Well done to everyone carrying on. I will do my 4th day tomorrow Smile

CareyHunt · 04/08/2011 23:14

Can I join in. I'm just about to order mine.

I'm expecting miracles!

kid · 05/08/2011 00:22

When I ordered my DVD, I used a website to find cheapest place. I got it from amazon for £5.99 Inc p&p.

Clarabumps · 05/08/2011 09:09

I shredded last night..it is getting easier but no less sweaty! today is my last day for two days as I'm going to a wedding tomorrow..another one!groan!

Bloody Hell...day 1 today. I thought I was pretty fit....I was working my way through level 1 thinking 'this isn't so bad'...

2 hours later I can barely walk upstairs.

There's definitely some kind of black magic involved here...muscles are aching that I didn't even use. I LOVE IT.

CountBapula · 05/08/2011 11:33

Shock Carey you're scaring me!

Having sat and watched it yesterday, am definitely going to need a new sports bra. Doubt my ludicrous bfing boobs would survive all those jumping jacks ...

kid · 05/08/2011 13:13

just completed L1 D2 and it felt a teeny bit easier than day 1 but still very hard!
Sweating loads again so off to the shower and then some lunch I think. I don't advise eating directly before doing shred as there is too much jumping around.
I find the abs part the hardest and I'm certain I'm not doing them 100% right but any abs work is more than I usually do Grin

CareyHunt · 05/08/2011 13:13

Bapula I meant it in a good way!

I went for a walk with the dog to have a bit of a stretch and now I feel great. I've had that post-exercise endorphin buzz all day.

I can't wait for tomorrow!

kid · 05/08/2011 13:14

Oh yeah, forgot to add, if you have a puppy/dog, you might want to shut them out of the room. My dear little pup tried to sit on me when I was doing the abs and was jumping up with me doing the jumping jacks!
At least DC weren't here to gawp at me like yesterday!

kid · 05/08/2011 13:58

Does anyone doing the shred suffer from sore calves after their workout?
I'm only on level 1 (done day 2 today) and its so painful especially when I walk!

mamasunshine · 05/08/2011 14:38

L1 day 4 done, my 6mo woke 1/2 way through, then my 2yo woke up mins later, so there was lots of tears cos i just had to finish it [bad mummy]!

Feeling much less achey now and it's (dare i say it) getting a little easier/bearable!

Kid my shins are the only thing that hurts, but during the session. Maybe have a day or 2 rest then see how it goes if it's painful? I had 2 rest days after the day 1 due to muscle pain.

MetalSian · 05/08/2011 19:23

... I have now had two days off, if I have today off it will be three =/.

BUT my chest still hurts, I may force myself to do it tonight though.
Not sure =[.

kid · 05/08/2011 19:47

I plan to still do it tomorrow and then will take Sunday off but will go to a gym class (cardio combat). Thats my plan but my legs are very painful. I can't even stand on tiptoes at the moment.

twoboots · 05/08/2011 23:13

ola all
been shredding for 2 weeks and my body is changing shape. my arse is higher, my thighs feels toned, and my pooch (i do love these jillianisms) is shifting. My love handles are no better, but heres hoping. i have less hope for my cankles!
For everyone who is new to the shred, please warmup for longer than Jillian, the last time I tried this dvd 6 months ago, I sprained everything before I got any results!

kid · 05/08/2011 23:52

I kept getting interupted when I tried doing it this morning. I ended up doing the bloody warm up 3 times before I got onto the proper work out. I'm still in complete agony tonight though!
The warm up is just the arms crossing over, the windmill, circling hips and then knees isn't it?
I think I can run through those before I turn it on and then do them again with her.
Day 3 for me tomorrow but I am yet to see any difference. Me, impatient? Never! Grin

posterofawolef · 06/08/2011 11:31

L1D5 yesterday, no aches today but I still can't complete the first cardio. I wish the skipping and jumping jacks were separate but then I guess they wouldn't be as effective.

Love the abs, I need that time to lie down.

MyNameIsInigoMontoya · 06/08/2011 12:32

Hi can I join you?

I have actually been shredding on and off for probably a month now, but usually only manage 3-4 times at most before life gets in the way again and I end up having another week off, grrr.... but I am really determined to keep going this time, got a holiday coming up and not looking forward to swimwear!

This week I have so far managed 2 Shreds and 1 big bike ride in the last 4 days which is not bad I suppose. So far I have not made it past level 1 because of all the interruptions, but I think if I can do a few more times this week I will try level 2 because I'm definitely getting better at it (though some bits are still pretty hard!).

Have just come down with the cold from hell today though, so I hope this attempt won't be doomed as well, not sure whether I can manage it today as I feel quite grim Sad

twinkle1010 · 06/08/2011 15:24

Can I join please? Just found thread

Im on day 3 of level 1. Wont be able to do full 30 days as Ive only got 14 days till Im off on holiday so will have to do 17 days now and then restart when I get back.

Hoping to do a bit of toning before I have to wear a dreaded bikini!!

kid · 06/08/2011 16:55

I'm doing l1 d3 today twinkle but I go on holiday next week so I'm going to do what I can before I go and then start again from the beginning when I get back. I might even do some while on holiday!

kid · 06/08/2011 16:57

Good luck myname, it sounds like you're doing well so far this week, hope the cold doesn't interfere with your hard work so far.
