I've had the 30 day shred for around a month. I've done three days at the start of the month and then "missed" a day and didnt pick it back up.

I have a wedding in a month and I have to shift the tummy.Plus i've recently had my hair cropped and now my face looks like a turnip.(bad dying escapade!)

Who's with me?Lets do it together and spur each other on!!

Starting tomorrow!

all the other threads are further on so I thought i's start a new one.

il join you. I did a whole round earlier this year and another half round a bit later. But I have had a three month break and ALL of the good work has been undone. I am planning on going back to work soon and I really dont want to go back looking like this and I want to make the most of having this time at home to shred, I will have much less time wen I go back to work

Tanso · 21/07/2011 08:58

used to do It while my baby had her morning sleep, but she has just cut that one out. She has one in the afternoon but I dont like to shred in the afternoon, id rather enjoy relaxing while she sleeps!. Does anyone else have to shred with a 14 month old racing around your feet? Any tips??

BiscuitNibbler · 21/07/2011 09:39

Thanks Clara!

I'm very impressed that you can see results after 7 days, that really makes it worthwhile.

I coped much better today than yesterday, but my legs are killing me now when I walk. I have a lot to lose so I guess I'll have to do this for a lot longer than 30 days. Having said that, I am finding JM's approach very encouraging, she does make me feel like I can do it.

Tanso - my 2.3 DD is driving me mad trying to use my legs as a tunnel during the jumping jacks and feeding me toy food while I'm doing the abs exercises. I have no idea what the solution is!

Nolda · 21/07/2011 14:32

Biscuitnibbler - just looked at JL website and they don't sell them any more, pooh! They are reebok handweights so you may be able to find them elsewhere.

Well done, Clara!

Nolda · 21/07/2011 14:35

Tanso - I also used to shred while my son slept in the mornings. He doesn't nap at all in the daytime anymore, which is very selfish of him, so I usually shred between DCs in bed and DH coming home (fortunately, from shredding point of view, he works late).

BiscuitNibbler · 21/07/2011 20:29

Thanks Nolda, I'll google them!

I must be doing something right, as I ache where I didn't realise I could ache!

BiscuitNibbler · 22/07/2011 08:27

Day 3 done. Some bits are getting easier, but I don't see how I'll ever be able to do the press-ups properly.

Tanso · 22/07/2011 10:12

Well I managed to do it with the little one clung to my neck and laying on my chest for the entire floor sections of the routine. At least I could really feel those sit ups!!!

Only my shoulders are sore this time around which is a nice change from the full body agony of the first time i did the shred.

Day two here I come...

MetalSian · 22/07/2011 10:37

So my DVD has arrived, well been picked up as for the first day all week I missed the post yesterday.

I will be starting day 1 sometime later today, hopefully before DP gets home.
Not sure how it will work with a 'helpful' 2 year old =D.

Tanso · 22/07/2011 10:50

sweaty!

MetalSian · 22/07/2011 12:15

So do I start today and have a day off tomorrow for work?
Or start on Sunday?

How much is it going to make me ache after Day 1? xD
I don't want to be dead at work.

Maybe I should just leave it ;P.

SlinkyB · 22/07/2011 12:31

Please may I join? Did day 10 of level 1 today and very proud of myself as don't usually like exercise. I either do it first thing with my six-month old ds playing in his seat/highchair or when he has his morning nap (sounds like from what you guys have said he'll be dropping this soon - argh!).

I prefer to do it in the morning as need to jump straight in the shower after due to all the sweating! Umm, I'm now dreading tomorrow as start Day 1 of Level 2, which I've heard is the hardest transition.

At least I have Sunday to recover (took two days off last week due to illness, but am aiming to do it 6 days per week all summer).

I use 1kg weights currently but may up this soon. I'm also seeing/feeling the benefits already so stick with it everyone...

EmGee · 22/07/2011 13:20

L2 is a killer the first few times but it does get easier the more you do it. I think it's the most effective of all three levels. The third circuit is haaaard! but at least it's the end......Sometimes I cheat and do a cardio move from L1 (like the boxing one) if I can't face the ones from L2. I have stuck with 1kg weights for L2 but use 2kg for the easier exercises - there are one or two!!

kasbah72 · 22/07/2011 17:00

Please can I join in? My dvd has arrived and I am starting tomorrow! Are you supposed to do this every day?
Thanks
K

MetalSian · 22/07/2011 17:10

Just done L2 D1 =D.

Wasn't as hard as I thought, definitely a work out but didn't kill me.
Expect I will be saying different tomorrow after the aching kicks in ;P.

DS thought it was funny and tried to copy xD, and I at time had to shout ask him politely to move ;P.

Also just measured everything, hips, thighs and waist, so I can compare after finishing L1.
Feeling surprisingly motivated, hope I stay like this.

BiscuitNibbler · 22/07/2011 17:50

Wow, you started on level 2 Metal? You're brave! Well done!

MetalSian · 22/07/2011 17:54

Oh crap... I meant L1, why the hell I put 2 I don't know.
I am REALLY not that brave =[.

Sorry for the mess up =[.

MetalSian · 22/07/2011 17:55

Anyone using anything to track their exercise?
I was looking at my fitness pal but don't really want to track food.

BiscuitNibbler · 22/07/2011 20:22

It was probably your muscles shaking after shredding that made you hit the wrong key! Grin

Clarabumps · 23/07/2011 09:06

Morning SHredders!!I done day 8 last night..its getting much easier! I'm still struggling with push ups..i can only get halfway down then i start to shake and collapse. thats the girly ones!My friend has been doing it and she's on level three now and can do full push ups and ...plank jacks(gasp- the devils work).

has anyone tried babyjail a travel cot while you're doing your workout?plonk them in with some books, toys and something to munch on and shred away.
I used to put my ds in his travel cot when I wanted a shower or just to go to the toilet in peace.
its only for 20 minutes and its safer than getting an arm to the face when doing a jumping jack.

Clarabumps · 23/07/2011 09:13

kasbah- yeah its everyday unless you are injured.
(and injured as in with an actual injury and not just because your muscles are killing you.)that was my excuse for quitting before and i found my muscles were stiffer when I stopped.
It is better if even if you're legs are killing you to keep going. I've found the first few lunges my thighs are burning from the previous work out however they do ease off after a few lunges then start to burn again towards the end.
To all first timers please stretch for longer than Jillian!!
I normally stretch my legs for as long as it takes for jillian to do the full cool down- this really helps in the soreness department.

BiscuitNibbler · 23/07/2011 20:05

Didn't do it this morning but then read your posts Clara and felt guilty so have just done Day 4. Thank you for the motivation!

It is getting a bit easier, but the bit when you are doing the jumping jacks and then the skipping straight after really takes it out of me. I did have to have a couple of 5 second breathers! However it did seem to go a lot quicker today which has to be a positive sign!

posterofagirl · 23/07/2011 20:22

DVD is ordered.

AllGoodNamesGone · 23/07/2011 21:24

Hi, I'd like to join. Started this three weeks ago but stupidly did in bare feet the first time and hurt hamstring, then, just as that was getting better, went down with a wierd summer cold/sore throat/cough virus thing which has only just got better - awful and no way I could shred while coughing so much!

Soooooo, finally did it today - wearing trainers! - thought I was going to die but made it to the end of L1 (Anita all the way!)

Off on holiday in a couple of weeks and wanted to have done 30 days before then so very frustrated to have lost three weeks but can't be helped.

Utimately, I would like to lose about three stone but a few pounds off before I go away would be nice!

BiscuitNibbler · 24/07/2011 07:54

Day 5 done.

I don't think I'm ever going to get through the bicycle crunches.

On a more positive note I am starting to be able to do a weak version of the girly press-ups.
