Hey everyone,

Saw the last thread was nearly full so thought I would start a new one :)

Just waiting for my beef rogan curry to finish cooking. Smells AMAZING :) Thank god I am off attack now!

OP posts:
catinboots · 20/07/2011 12:19

really? Why are they allowed?

foreverondiet · 20/07/2011 13:45

I am guessing they are allowed as they are very low in sugar, and high in fibre and are good for weight loss!

seedlessgrape · 20/07/2011 16:24

One tablespoon per day on Attack.

Thanks for that Forever - it's fruit that I miss more than anything.

Oblomov · 20/07/2011 17:26

Please can I join. I posted on another dukan thread, but no one responded. I have been doing attack for a few days. But have had a couple of cheats, like garlic dip. not strictly allowed, I don't think.
Hoping that dh wil be able to get me some oatbran today ( day 4) . nowhere sells it. and with driving licence revoked Sad I can not drive to get any. do you HAVE to eat the oatbran, if toileting is not a problem ?

catinboots · 21/07/2011 10:51

Hi Oblomov. I'm on day 4 today too but proper fecked up his morning. I woke up feeling exhausted and weak so I had peanut butter on granary toast.

Back to protein only. Will try and continue till Sunday. I've been having the oatbran stirred into a mullerlight every morning. I got mine in Holland and Barratt. Could you order some online? It could be there by tomorrow.

Piffle · 21/07/2011 10:53

day 2 here, have 6 kgs to lose, scales tell me 2.4lbs have gone since yesterday morning...
Feeling ok, touch of a foggy headache but otherwise fine
I need to find more protein sources or boredom will set in , though I am only doing attack for 3 days...
DH is doing it he has 2 stone to shift so doing attack for 5 days

catinboots · 21/07/2011 11:30

I'm eating wafer-thin chicken and cottage cheese. Got a big food shop being delivered tonight so hopefully will have a bit more variety.

I'm going to attempt to make a quiche. It's a slimming world recipe, but is just cottage cheese (or quark) with eggs and some ham.

Piffle · 21/07/2011 13:14

I've just had the books delivered too, some decent stuff in there (bonus him being French LOL)
I just had berbere spiced chicken breast, cottage cheese and low fat nat yoghurt with an oatbran muffin with quark.
Dinner is jerk roasted chicken...
Am trying to do an hour evening walk with the dogs, stops us sitting in missing the booze ;)
Am packing lunch for tomorrow as am to dog show all day, last day of attack so I want to be prepared!

Oblomov · 21/07/2011 13:32

Cat in boots, I'm sorry to laugh at your 'slip up' but it just strikes me as funny to get up and just go and make some toast , put peanut butter on it and then eat it. and then think, duuuuhhh, what did I do that for. I think that may well be me, quite a lot of the time.
if you slip up, you just get back on the wagon the next day, right ?

catinboots · 21/07/2011 14:36

Yep. Back on the wagon straight away. More chicken and cottage cheese for lunch.

Some sort of egg or meaty thing for supper.

It's getting quite boring., Especially as no wine allowed Sad

seedlessgrape · 22/07/2011 12:29

The good thing about the Dukan is that you can have the odd slip-up as long as you follow it up with a day or two of PP.

I went out for dinner last Friday evening and ate and drank whatever I wanted. On Saturday I had croissants, bread and hummus and spaghetti carbonara and garlic bread, with some wine, then biscuits, pizza and more garlic bread on Sunday. All totally against the Dukan ethos! By the way this is not a usual weekend's food for me but it was not a usual weekend!

Anyway, I went straight back to PP for three days and I'm back to my pre-carbo-binge weight!

seedlessgrape · 22/07/2011 12:31

^ However, please don't take that as a thumbs up to go mad this weekend! I'm just saying that a binge followed by PP works for me but it may not work for everyone.....

foreverondiet · 22/07/2011 12:48

re: binge followed by PP days. Even if your weight gets back to what it was before, it might be that you gain fat on the binge (hard to loose) but loose water on the PP days.

Odd slip up ok, binge not!

That all being said, if you put on 4lbs over the weekend (eg after lots of carbs) its not all fat, its fluid.

I find that if I have a weekend off I don't loose that we as I spend the first bit of the next week recovering. So take a day off your diet by all means but I don't think its so different from taking days off on any other diet.

Piffle · 22/07/2011 17:29

I'm finding the PP food thing totally fine
But am going out to the pub tonight for a couple of pints.
Back on PP Saturday and Sunday then start cruise on Monday...
I've lost 2 kgs (4.5lbs) on 2 days of attack thus far...

Oblomov · 24/07/2011 13:49

I finally got some oatbran. Holland and Barratt said that they wouldn't be getting anymore in until late sept, and what they had on their shelves was all they had. So I bought 6 packets !!
I think I've been on attack for over a week now. But haven't lost any weight. I need to review because I'm obviously not doing htis right.
Mind you last night, I just thought bugger it, ate chilli and rice with 2 slices of garlic bread and 3 glasses of rose winre. Giess thta probbaly didn't help !!

Like for days all I ate was; fat free youghurt, eggs and bacon, shop bought packet of chilli chicken with some lettuce and spring onions. plain chicken breast with home made fat free youghurt and curry powder dip.
I have been walking ds to school, so thats 20 mins walk. sometimes 20 mins x 6. I took him back to school for karate, and walked for the hour whilst he was in there. All whilst pushing ds2 in buggy. Surely thats enough exercise ? 3 hrs of walking.

I don't get how I am doing it so wrong.

foreverondiet · 24/07/2011 15:11

oblomov - I think you are not eating enough decent protein, although you should have lost eating that...

Thoughts on why maybe you didn't loose:
a) bacon not allowed as too high in fat
b) lettuce and spring onions not allowed on attack
c) yoghurt is allowed but best not to go mad with it as it contains quite a lot of naturally occuring milk sugar.
d) You didn't have the oatbran (BTW tesco sell their own branded oatbran)
e) Need to eat lean protein at each meal - why no white fish? Its cheap (I buy frozen) high in protein and no carbs and no fat.
f) He says 2 egg (yolks) a day due to the fat

Try:
a) eating lean protein at each meal - eggs, chicken breast, white fish
b) Cutting down on yoghurt - eat greek yoghurt or cottage cheese instead, but still limit dairy to maybe 300-400g a day

Oblomov · 24/07/2011 15:49

Thank you very much forever.
I will take on board what you have said and try and go ultra lean.

foreverondiet · 24/07/2011 18:25

I think have 5 days of P & V, having lean protein at each meal, and then do another 5 days of attack. Avoid starchy veggies like carrots/parsnips and go easy on the dairy.

eg eggs and yoghurt with oatbran for breakfast
tuna muffin mid morning
tuna/mackeral/sardine salad for lunch
yoghurt & oatbran mid afternoon
chicken or white fish and steamed veggies for dinner etc

If you haven't lost in 10 days time then it isn't the diet for you.

Tuna muffin - makes 3 - can tuna/150g cottage cheese/1 egg, 2 tablespoons oatbran. Bake in silicone muffin case.

Piffle · 24/07/2011 20:27

I made the galettes and muffins
They are important I think
I had to add V today as need a poo! Lol
So had
Scrambled egg, grilled tomato and smoked salmon

Lunch pastrami and smoothie using milk allowance, fat free yog, oatbran and some blueberries ( I know I know!!!!)

Dinner kofta meatballs lettuce and cucumber, yog and garlic dressing

Am finding the not being hungry thing dead weird
I only remember to eat when I feel a bit weak
Must watch that
Oh and walked 3 x 2 miles today

Water yes and Oblomov are you drinking enough?

Leaving weighing til Tuesday
PV tomorrow again I'm going to do 2/1/2/1 the 1 being pp
Partly as I have blood sugar issues and I need some variety to keep steady

dukanyoucanican · 25/07/2011 08:05

Hi I'm joining, I'm 23 was 11st when starting 2 days ago and am now 10 st 10! I have been trying for so so long to be that weight it has completely shocked me. I almost gave up after the first day because I have chocs and sweets but woke up with a 2lb loss so have stuck at it and managed another2 lb!
I am really impressed and the actual sticking to it is not that bad. I have been eating quern sausages as well though.
Pretty tired today as my youngest (4 months) decided to not sleep from around 4-7 am.
So here we go! My true weight is apparently 9st 6 and if I got to that I would be the thinnest iv been for....well, ever!
True weight - 9 st 6

ExpatMummyInOz · 25/07/2011 12:39

Hope you all don't mind my joining here too? Started attack phase today (Mon) for 3 days. Found today quite easy apart from the fact that I made the kids chips for tea and ate one without even thinking about it. Oops!

Expect to get on the scales and be at least 7lbs lighter tomorrow, given how bloody virtuous I have been today!

True Weight: 9st 2lbs
Start Weight:11st 5lbs
Weight to Lose: 31lbs

dukanyoucanican · 25/07/2011 14:31

Its hard when you are making food for other family members isn't it.
I don't have the support of my husband so I have to eat as normally as I can around him, so I had home made pizza yesterday and still lost 2 lbs, it can be done!

Piffle · 25/07/2011 15:58

oh my stats

skyeowl · 25/07/2011 20:54

Hi there! I followed the last thread and you all helped me to decide that it was definitely worth trying this diet! I had abit of a false start last week by day 2 I was headachey and really depressed feeling (I have a history of depression and was quite concerned) so I stopped, weighed myself and was totally shock to have lost 4lb!!! Then my period started!!! I'm irregular and didn't realise that I was premenstrual!! Anyway, started again this week while I'm off work thinking that at home the attack phase will be easier, and it is

I've just had a gallette with mullerlight and they're lovely! It's taken me over a week to be able to find some oatbran - everywhere was sold out thanks to the (dreaded) daily mail articles!
Looking forward to being a comfortable size 12 once more
Thank you ladies, you are very inspiring!

ExpatMummyInOz · 27/07/2011 14:21

Well, I'm shame-faced to admit that I have so fallen off the wagon, it's long gone!

By end of Day 2, I had had enough. No weight loss at all, and I promise I had not cheated. I was feeling quite depressed at having to eat more meat/fish, and I was craving a big fat wodge of fresh baguette and a green salad!

Feeling fat and fed-up today, so I need to re-focus, start again and plan out my meals more carefully.
