Hey guys,

Have been hanging out on the "losing 2 st thread" but thought I would update here.

Have been Dukan-ing for 4 weeks (tomorrow) and have lost 1st 3lbs!

Start Weight- 12st 3
Current Weight- 11st 1

Have had lovely dinner of mince in passata sauce with onions, mushrooms, corgettes and red peppers.

Need to up the exercise though, have been x training for about 25 mins (200 cals) most days, but am thinking about getting the shred DVD.

Anyway, keep on Dukan-ING!!

adamschic · 15/06/2011 10:28

Well I put some back on on Cruise and have stagnated. Only want another 4 pound off and to keep it off. Think I will do a protein day today. I have been mainly sticking to a low calorie intake with just oat bran, protein and a few bits of salad/veg, hardly eating much but the scales are stuck. Oh well will keep going.

Well done to everyone else.

goingtogodukan · 15/06/2011 12:36

Hello all - going to start dukan on saturday... are you allowed to eat bacon.. yum yum??

eandz · 15/06/2011 16:51

okay ladies, help me out here.

i really want white chocolate chips+cashews and dried berries. please please please talk me out of such an indulgent snack.

AlfalfaMum · 15/06/2011 17:09

HAve some low fat cottage cheese with some non-fat fruit yogurt mixed in, fill you up :)

I'm finding it quite hahrd to stick to the rules myself! I made the girls croissants earlier (well, heated shop-bought ones - I'm not a total masochist :o) and was soooo tempted, but didn't.
Yesterday, supposedly P/P, not so good: I ate a little plate of spaghetti with the kids, and succumbed to a piece of garlic bread too. Hopefully, it was just my period forcing me to eat carbs. Been good today, so far. I need to come on here when I feel weak :)

foreverondiet · 15/06/2011 17:45

I cheat on fruit. Today have had 1 pear, 2 apples and a peach. Not tempted by pasta or bread. Still am at target weight (actually below) so am allowed some fruit each day just not 4 pieces!

Good idea about mixing cottage cheese with yoghurt. Usually mix those yoghurts with natural yoghurt (and oatbran) but good idea to mix with cottage cheese for filling snack.

I tried making dukan chocolate muffins but they don't taste nice enough to post recipie! Will have to tweak!

sybilfaulty · 15/06/2011 18:20

Had lots of smoked salmon, ham and yoghurt today. Delish but costing me a fortune! Sausages and broccoli for supper, which is not strictly attack but I can't face a sausage omelette. Not weighed myself yet. Saving that for Sat morning before I get on Eurostar.

How many Muller lights a day do you think is decent?

Hope you resisted the choc / cashew combo. Sounds lovely though!

eandz · 15/06/2011 18:32

how do you get dukan chocolate? is chocolate allowed?

foreverondiet · 15/06/2011 19:10

It was a little cocoa powder sweetened with stevia. But tasted too bitter, and could taste the artificial sweetness.

eandz · 15/06/2011 19:14

:( oh no! I really wanted chocolate right now.

foreverondiet · 15/06/2011 20:19

www.goodnessdirect.co.uk/cgi-local/frameset/detail/637055_Xylitol_Luxury_72__Dark_Mint_Chocolate__100g.html

have tried both mint and orange and they are both good. i'm not sure its strictly speaking allowed and would limit to a square or two.

Dilligaf81 · 15/06/2011 21:34

Well Ive been cheating constantly for nearly 2 weeks (weekend away for a 40th then my 30th, did use the gym at the hotel though) but have only put 2lbs back on of the 11 I lost in 8 days of attck.
Once this weekend away if over Im back on it, I think Ill do 3 days of attack to get me going.
I want to get to pre-baby 4 weight of 9st 4lb but secretly hoping I can get the scales to say 8stone something even if its only for one day I really do have issues i need to sort out Grin

Boo81 · 15/06/2011 21:45

Hello!

Day 3 for me and I'm still feeling good. A lot of the reviews on amazon are from people saying they felt terrible during the Attack phase but so far so good for me. Today's menu was:

Breafast: 1 boiled egg and fat free yoghurt
Lunch: Smoked salmon, cooked chicken breast pieces and cottage cheese and an oat bran galette
Snack: Custard flan thingy from the Dukan book - its yuk by the way! Might be better with some sweetener though
Dinner: Chicken, cod and prawn curry
Snack: low fat yoghurt

Exercise today was a 25 min run.

Hows everyone else getting on?

goingtogodukan - I bought a packet of sainsburys be good to yourself bacon medallions and wrapped a couple of the medallions around chicken breasts. As long as all visible fat has been trimmed and the overal fat content of the bacon is as low as you can get then I'm sure that will be fine.

sybilfaulty - I've been wondering about how much yoghurt I should be eating too! I read somewhere (could have been on one of these threads) that you shouldn't eat, or at least limit, the amount of fruit flavoured yoghurt you eat. Does anyone know more about this?

adamschic · 15/06/2011 21:56

I've flunked big time. Eaten all the wrong things so will have to drop out, albeit not overeaten. I have been shopping tonight and bought, mainly low calorie stuff and even readly meals, so off Dukan.

Feel a bit of a failure and tried on a bikini which looked awful, anyone got a cheap cellulite (SP) remedy. Size wise I didn't look too bad and hoping to get a bit more off.

Do agree that all the high protein stuff, chicken, lean meat and fish (I could live off smoked salmon) ends up costing a fortune, especially as you have to keep stocks of yoghurts, cottage cheese in. rather than have a bit of toast.

Well done to everyone and keep going, will watch with interest.

eandz · 15/06/2011 22:39

adamschic

my anti cellulite scrub recipe is:

get a large tub of coarse sea salt from asda+almond oil+coconut oil+lemon juice+thyme+ i add pineapple for the scent then I add some of my bodywash and i scrub with this mixture for a week. I feel like it gets rid of a lot of my orange peel skin, but who knows. I usually add it all in the tub that the salt comes in and fill the tub. The full mixture should look like the salt scrubs they sell at boots/stalls at the malls. Or you could just buy it at the store.

if anyone wants to know about my other beauty recipes let me know, i've got something for almost everything except eczema.

AlfalfaMum · 15/06/2011 23:22

That scrub sounds great eandz :) Do you have a recipe for a face mask? I've got sensitive combination skin, a bit spotty at the moment!

Re:fruit yogurts, he says in the book never to have more then 2 a day, and cut them out completely if the weight's not shifting. I tend to dilute them with plain yogurt/cottage cheese/fromage frais so I can have more, and to make the plain stuff palatable. I might have to give them up for a while though, due to stagnating (or maybe I should just stop cheating!)

eandz · 16/06/2011 00:09

i do have a few face mask recipes:

generally for sensitive skin

Oatmeal + sage and lavender mix it together, generally 2-4 tables spoons of oatmeal+ soy milk or normal milk+lavender if you have it, sage or even parsley
I mix this in a plastic sandwhich bag and put it in the fridge, leave it for a few hours.

honey and rosehip, if you've got a rose laying around I would take a few petals and crush them add a table spoon of water. If you like, add milk+soy milk.

I mix all my masks in plastic bags or glass jars and keep them in the fridge (but I only mix the amount I need. I also add milk to almost anything.

Not for sensitive skin:
crushed cucumbers+crushed cabbage and a few drops of lemon (this is for normal skin and bad scarring)

eandz · 16/06/2011 00:10

oh, and honey. I add honey to everything too. No wonder I'm fattyfatfatfat!

goingtogodukan · 16/06/2011 14:17

Boo81

Thanks for your reply re bacon medallions - i will have to get some of those in. I was going to start dukan on sat but have decided to start tomorrow... oh i am being very naughty diet wise today though yum yum!!! Just lost 10lbs over 6 weeks with weightwatchers but seem to be sticking on scales now so hope this is going get rid of another 10lbs :D

Good to hear that you are feeling ok on attack - was bit worried about that. The website said i should do 2 days of attack but going to try 3. Hoping i have the willpower!

foreverondiet · 16/06/2011 15:01

re: costs, I think it depends on what you eat (although yes toast cheaper).

I found a 1kg of fat free yoghurt in asda for £1, and I buy frozen white fish eg haddock and coley which is cheaper than buying fresh. Kippers are also cheap! Also stock up on tuna when its BOGOF. Turkey breast is also quite cheap and tins of chopped tomatoes are staples. I haven't really eaten much red meat, maybe once a day.

I do eat a lot of veggies which are expensive but try to buy whats on offer, or cheaper. And now on consolidation have added pulses (he doesn't mention them in the book but prefer to eat pulses over bread).

But I am doing my amended version anyway, try to stick to principles were possible but don't worry about occasional treat eg dark chocolate, mini-milks, low sugar fruit. And of course celebration meals. Have lost 1lb a week for last month so still loosing despite all the cheats.

Personally am wary of ready meals and low calorie stuff and think its often filled with refined carbs. But do agree dukan not for everyone.

eandz · 16/06/2011 17:07

okay, so my book isn't here yet.

attack phase is lots of protein and a bit of yogurt?

AlfalfaMum · 16/06/2011 17:28

Thanks for the face mask recipes, I will give them a try! Do you mean lavender oil, or actual herb lavender from the garden?

Attack phase:
Lean meats
All fish and shellfish
Eggs
Non-fat dairy products - yogurt, fromage frais, quark, cottage cheese, skimmed milk. All unrestricted (except fruit yogurt 2 a day max)
2 tablespoons per day oat bran, made into porradge with skimmed milk, or a gallette with fromage frais and egg, or just mixed into yogurt
Drink LOTS of water.
Don't have anything containing fat or anything fried
Do use herbs, spices, gherkins etc to make food tasty, but go easy on salt and mustard.
Don't have any sugar.
Do have tea, coffee, herbal teas, diet coke etc.
And get a 20 minute walk every day.

Average attack phase is 5 days, between 3 and 7 days depending on how much weight you have to lose. 3 days if you have 20lb or less to lose.

AlfalfaMum · 16/06/2011 17:29

porridge, even!

Boo81 · 16/06/2011 18:52

Thanks AlfalfaMum for the info re. fruit yoghurts. I have the book but with a 3 month old baby I just can't find the time to sit down and read it!

Day 4 of Attack for me today. I'm not feeling great this evening but I think thats a combination of me not eating lunch until 5pm and dealing with one moody little girl all day. I had breakfast about 9am and a small snack a couple of hours later and went out to meet friends in the afternoon not thinking to make myself lunch before I went. So I didn't eat until I came home and then ended up being so starving that I reached for something very not Dukan - a hazelnut yoghurt. Opps. Do you think one slip up will make that much of a difference?

So food today has been:

Breakfast: 2 eggs and oatbran galette
Snack: a few slices of pre-cooked chicken breast
Lunch: Smoked salmon and cottage cheese. Hazelnut Yoghurt Blush
Dinner: Planning to have chicken drumsticks, cod and prawns
Snack: Vanilla yoghurt

Hope everyone else is having a more successful day!!

Boo81 · 18/06/2011 20:56

This thread has gone a bit quiet the last few days. How is everyone getting on?

I completed 5 days of Attack yesterday and followed the rules pretty strictly. Cheated a bit last night though with 4 vodka's and diet coke and a few spoon fulls of DP's laksa soup when I got home!

And as of this morning I've lost 4lbs since Monday. I'm pretty happy with that provided I continue to lose on Cruise!

Today was Day 1 of cruise and despite really looking forward to having some veggies I didn't get round to having them until my online shopping order arrived this evening.

Breakfast: 2 boiled eggs and 3 bacon medallions
Lunch: Ate out and shared a meat board with DP - parma ham, chorizo, salami, roasted tomatoes, red pepper puree. Not strictly Dukan but boy did it taste good and I did manage to avoid the pitta bread.
Snack: 0% greek yogurt
Dinner: Homemade burgers

The burgers were absolutely heavenly! I made them with extra lean minced beef, egg white, oat bran and garlic and herb seasoning. Instead of burger buns I used large flat mushrooms and lettuce and instead of my usual lashing of blue cheese I had a Laughing Cow Deli Light blue cheese square. And I layered it all up with more lettuce, tomatoes and gherkins.

Divine!

Hope everyone else is enjoying their Dukan weekend as much as me!
