Weighed today and 2kg down! Which I am bloody chuffed with. Only slight issue is the mild uti I developed Thursday night. Only second time ever. I do wonder if was related to Thursday, v busy at work I did not eat very much at all, especially of carbs. Was drinking plenty but also probably left it too long between wees too. Anyway got Abx and it’s better today so onwards. I’ve read there’s no causation between Mounjaro and uti but can see there’s some casual association which is not surprising given diet changes, hormonal changes etc. it could well have a hormonal component for me given its perimenopause that’s prompted me to crack on with this 😀

InALonelyWorld · 05/09/2026 19:05

Joining too! After being disheartened and stuck in a yoyo of 10lb for the past 6 months after regular dieting (which lost me almost 2st), I've taken the plunge and ordered my jabs today to hopefully help things get back on track. Will update once they've arrived and I have taken my first dose.

Looking forward to sharing this journey with the rest of you at a similar stage 😊

Welcome to all our new jab-friends 🧡
Great to hear the weight loss successes too 😊

DestituteDesperate · 06/09/2026 06:47

Can I join? Although I’m doing the pills and I’ve had them just lying around and plucking up the courage to start today.

I am also on aunt flow so I know I’m silly for even contemplating this but in my head it’s, take the pill, go back to bed to just relax, get on my walking pad and then prepare a cheesy, spinach omelette with lots of colourful veg for lunch and salmon and mash potatoes for dinner.

MrsCillian · 06/09/2026 08:54

Hi @DestituteDesperate 👋

My first jab was Tuesday, weighed this morning and 4lbs off! I'm so surprised as I've still had a good appetite. Just shows how much crap I was snacking on previously.

SW - 16st 12.6
CW 16st 8.6

I don't have a goal weight yet as it seems so far off.

Wow 4lbs off is amazing.

keep up the good work.

how have the side effects been?

MrsCillian · 06/09/2026 11:22

Ok this time. Felt a bit sick in the morning first few days after the jab but that's easing off as the week has gone on. Expecting it to come back after the next jab.

user626 · 06/09/2026 11:55

Hi can I join please. I took my 3rd wegovy injection Friday. I’ve had intermittent nausea since I started and constipation. I’ve lost 5lb in total. I’m on 0.25mg and just ordered 0.5mg for the next one. Does anyone else feel incredibly tired after they have their injection? I have to lie down and usually sleep for a couple of hours. I haven’t told anyone about the injections in real life, except Dh so would be nice to be able to discuss with others going through the same.

MrsCillian · 06/09/2026 16:56

Hi 👋 I do mine before bed so I go to sleep anyway within an hour of taking it.

InALonelyWorld · 06/09/2026 18:11

Woo!! Just recieved my jabs, surprised how quick they came. Do people have a preference or advice on when is best to jab? I don't know whether to do it now and get it out the way or wait until Friday so I have the weekend to manage any possible side effects.

Aintgointogoa · 06/09/2026 18:38

Hullo everybody, welcome newcomers...just catching up with your updates.
My 1st wknd didn't go too well, with the strep throat and AB's in the mix. I was completely wiped out anyway, hard to tell whether MJ or just the combo of 2 powerful medications. The throat faded a lot by Saturday afternoon and the pain completely gone today but obvs I have to complete the 7 day AB x 2 daily til Thurs. Which is also next jab day..

What happened yday afternoon was a salutary lesson tho - a friend came over with offerings, since I had not been able to make dinner at her place on Fri. Yummy Vietnamese food (summer rolls, tofu over rice, smells delish) Anyway I had 1 summer roll with peanut sauce. Very tasty and I was peckish by then ! To celebrate I had 1 small glass of white wine with her to her 3 (we would normally sink the bottle between us) then she went home. Leaving me with a slice of homemade mango cheesecake. Quite a bit later I thought I would have a taste, literally the end of the slice. It was divino ! But boy oh boy was that a rookie error. I had the most uncomfortable night ever, so bloated, very reflux-y, slept very badly with multiple trips to the bathroom. I woke up eventually feeling like I HAD drunk the bottle as well ! And first bout of real nausea. Felt very sorry for myself...🥺

My line of thinking was 'a little bit of what you fancy won't hurt' but it very definitely is not the case, for me, at least not this early on (4 days in) and I have been reading up on MJ diet and recommendations, but was being blasé.
I have never had such a bad night from digestive issues. Wrist well and truly slapped ! Anyone else ?

So - the big block of butter I bought last week is now in the freezer. The fresh coconut meat to snack on, ditto (a good snack it does NOT make with MJ by all account = high saturated fat) Live and learn - FAST ha ha
I have lots of fresh vegs in the fridge and plenty of fruit, organic yogurt which I tolerate well....

So, if you're still with me, I am looking for recipe recommends, tried and tested / tips going forward by maybe more seasoned MJ jabbers. Or where to look for them, as some are very dubious....of course everyone is different and I am not even a week in yet. But I am in it to win it ! And everyone started once, once ! 😘

Slipperslopey · 06/09/2026 18:43

Hi, hoping it’s okay to join in! I took my first 2.5mg jab on Wednesday so am 4 days in now. I’ve not had a single snack in that time but have definitely still been hungry for meals, but they have filled me up. I still have food noise, but don’t feel desperate for unhealthy snacks or anything. So hard to tell how much is psychological and placebo playing a role vs actual effects. I definitely could eat though, I don’t think anyone would have a clue I was on mj if I went out for a meal for example.

Will see how the next 3wks goes but wouldn’t be surprised if I need to go up to 5mg as I’ve certainly not had “total appetite suppression”!

good luck everyone

I’ve seen advice to take right before bed so you can in theory sleep off the worst of this, I did this and have had no side effects but also not a huge amount of suppression so not sure it’s affecting me that much at the moment anyway!

PatChaunceysFruitCake · 06/09/2026 19:29

@Aintgointogoa I was given a burger at an event. I thought if I just ate that it would balance out calorie wise for the day as I’d had no breakfast. I had to put it down after three bites. I just knew I was going to feel really sick if I ate it. It felt so greasy and unpleasant even though it was a very nice, just cooked posh burger.

I’ve dug out my slower cooker and had ChatGPT make me up some recipes for chicken and veg types things. Tasty and filling.

Aintgointogoa · 06/09/2026 21:54

@PatChaunceysFruitCake thanks....yes have found ChatGPT has useful suggestions too. That burger must have been the equivalent of my friend's cheesecake to my stomach ! Although I am gutted (ha) not to be able to eat it.
I have a list of snack suggestions now which I am going to get stuck into tmrw...

EnglishGirlApproximately · 07/09/2026 08:56

First jab of my second attempt done! Started on 5mg which surprised me as I thought I'd have to go right back.

Starting weight 88k

Posting here for accountability. Good luck everyone 🤞🏻

Berengariaoftheverylowcountries · 07/09/2026 10:24

Did my second jab yesterday without issue. Also went out for lunch and had small(ish) portion of higher fat food without any incident which was cheering. I need to lose weight but I also want to be able to enjoy occasional treats!

NNYYCC · 07/09/2026 14:02

Im down to 79 after a starting weight of 84 - will take my 4th 2.5 jab tomorrow. I have a 10mg from last year still in date so will extract either 2.5s or 5s from that. Remember to drink plenty of water as lipolysis can’t happen without water.

I am doing 2MAD - first meal either eggs/spinach/avocado or apple, raspberries, chia & flax seeds and Greek yogurt at about 1pm. Then I eat the family vegan meal in the evening which has loads of plant points. I was worried re starting as a following a few of my original cohort on a restarters thread who said MJ wasn’t as powerful 2nd time round - but I am delighted with progress. Slow and steady is the way to go. Also my chocolate and rose wine cravings have stopped overnight.

May I caution you against not rushing to move up to 5mg if you’re getting some suppression on 2.5mg? It’s not meant to make you stop eating completely and it builds up in your system over the first 3 weeks anyway. The fact you’ve not been tempted to snack shows it’s definitely working.

If you look through older threads, you’ll find that some posters who moved straight to 5mg from a month on 2.5mg found the doubling of the dose made the side effects horrendous. It’s probably less risky to click count your dose and move in increments of 1mg unless you’re getting zero suppression and zero side effects on 2.5mg.

Also, you don’t want to lose weight too quickly as you’ll also lose valuable muscle mass and more importantly bone density. Muscles can be rebuilt fairly easily but improving bone density is another matter! My GP prescribes my MJ (although I pay for it) and she was very clear about this. I’ve only moved up to 4mg after over a year on MJ. Obviously, it’s up to you but maybe do a bit more reading round first?

Needtoshiftit · 07/09/2026 21:41

Hi can I join please. Took my first shot of wegovy this morning. I am very lucky that I got prescribed it by Oviva through the NHS. I have about 5 stone to lose. Hoping for minimal side effects. 🤞

InevitableDownwardSpiral · 08/09/2026 07:43

Morning All

One week in, so weigh day and jab day for me.

I thought I'd add a little about how the week has gone as I know before I started I read almost every thread on here looking for info. I was very anxious about side effects before I started, so for about a week before the first jab I logged how I was feeling each day - I thought it might help me not to imagine every tiny thing was a reaction to the medication. In that pre-jab week I logged three or four things a day (headache, upset stomach, start of a cold etc.). In this first week on the jab I've logged almost nothing 😂

I hope I don't jinx myself, but I've felt good. Sleeping well, good energy levels.

I don't know if I've felt suppression as such, but my urge to snack seemed to disappear immediately. For the past week I've enjoyed my regular meals, and even a couple of drinks over the weekend, but I haven't snacked at all. Maybe its all placebo, I don't know, will jab again this morning and see how it goes!

Stats are as follows

Height 5' 5"
Age 54
Mounjaro 2.5 mg
Starting weight 194.4 lbs
Current weight 190.4 lbs
Total loss -4 lbs

Pretty pleased with that! Onwards and downwards 😁

Needtoshiftit · 08/09/2026 08:00

Well done @InevitableDownwardSpiral 4lb is amazing! Great news that you aren’t having any side effects. I’m only on day 2, feeling ok wasn’t really wanting to eat my breakfast but that’s not unusual for me anyway. I did manage it though.

SleepyWhippetMum · 08/09/2026 10:46

Does anyone else feel like they are peeing more? Or in my head?

@InevitableDownwardSpiral I wish I'd thought ahead and kept a diary of what was normal for me beforehand! Great idea.

Needtoshiftit · 08/09/2026 16:26

I’m definitely weeing more but I do when I first start losing weight. Plus I’m drinking loads of water.

Tree2026 · 08/09/2026 18:21

First weigh in, 7lbs down, so pleased with that. No real side effects other than nausea the couple of days after the jab, so expecting that to hit again tomorrow. Have felt more hungry than I thought I would, so have had to use more willpower than I expected. However, I have read some more stuff, and seems to suggest takes a while to properly imbed into your body, and some people might experience this.
