Hi all, I cannot find a new starters thread for September 2026 (did my first mounjaro jab today) Is there one ?

@MrsScotland I’m not sure this thread is going to be good for me given the amazing losses some posters are recording!

Well done to them but I’m in your bracket… lost 3lb the first week, nothing the second and 1.5lb in the third. 4.5lb in three weeks isn’t great given I’m on 1400 calories a day.

Mounjaro is definitely helping me stick to that but I had hoped for this to be better reflected on the scales.

I’ve ordered a 5mg pen and I’m going to try a 3.75mg dose to start with in the hope it helps me reduce calories further.

imanastronaut · 16/09/2026 07:15

Day three, I’m down just under three pounds so far but I know from previous experience this is mainly water weight (and I had a lot of it because I’d just been on holiday!)

Slipperslopey · 16/09/2026 07:17

Weigh day for me today, week two and 1.2kg / 2.6lbs lost. A good loss but I do feel I’ve really had to work for it the last 3days, not had much suppression at all. I’ll see how the next week goes but I think I’ll look to go up to 5mg next time if possible.

total loss: 3kg
weeks completed: 2
dose: 2.5mg
remaining to lose: 9.5kg

Gahhhh! Nice to know I'm not the only one. I got on the scales again this morning and I've not shifted. I know I just need to keep at it but it's demoralising after a good start! I am eating a lot less, no snacks, sensible meals etc - I know I'm doing enough to lose weight so it's really weird! Also been quite active over the weekend, plenty of steps, gym, long walk, gardening for hours etc.

I've reordered the 2.5mg for now as it is giving me enough suppression and cut the sweet cravings. Just not the ongoing results!

PatChaunceysFruitCake · 16/09/2026 18:58

@MrsScotland you’re definitely not alone! The weirdest thing is I can feel my clothes are looser.

I’m completely addicted to weighting myself so I am going to try really hard to break this bad habit and just weigh in once a week.

I've been obsessed with weighing too. I've actually taken the scales out of the bathroom, and hidden them from sight. Out of sight out of mind seems to be working

Right I have logged my weight for today using my PT’s super accurate mechanical scales (since I can’t weigh on Friday due to going up to Scotland for work) and I’m 74.1 kg down from 75 kg.

I’ve made an executive decision to stay on 2.5 rather than going up to 5 mg. I had my first bit of nausea last night (woke me up). I had to drink some water & then lie there quietly for about an hour before it went off. I think 2.5 is right for me as it’s clearly building up in my system. For whatever reason, Mounjaro really seems to work on me.

InevitableDownwardSpiral · 16/09/2026 19:58

Please don’t be too despondent @PatChaunceysFruitCakeand @MrsScotland I’m sure everyone is going to go through the same thing at some point.

I’ve been ravenous today even though I only jabbed yesterday and have had to rely on willpower (not entirely successfully as I just had a glass of wine 🙈) so not sure what that’s all about.

As for weighing, I weigh every morning but have a Bluetooth scale that records it to an app. It means I can see that my weight fluctuates a little all the time and somehow I find that reassuring

Do you mind if I join this chat? I'm having exactly the same problem. Had a great weight loss week one, and now almost nothing. I'm eating very little as well. Calorie tracking averages out at 1000 calories. But my clothes are still looser. It's really confusing. Regretting my decision to order a second 2.5mg pen.

Hi ladies I was talking to one of the trainers at my gym today. I was saying I’m really struggling as although I’ve really cut back on calories and have been exercising I’ve only lost 2lb in the last 3 weeks. She told me to stop focusing on the numbers on the scales and to take notice of how my clothes are fitting and my shape. She said I’m probably gaining muscle mass and losing fat so although I’m not losing much actual weight I’m losing inches from my body. I hope that helps anyone who is struggling

CCC10 · 16/09/2026 22:24

Hi all, my first dose Wegovy tablets arrived this morning so tomorrow is my first day. I’m really really nervous.
really hoping it works for me as I’ve been overweight for so long and try my best but it never shifts. Ideally want to lose 3 stone.

PatChaunceysFruitCake · 17/09/2026 07:16

@KateBridgertoneven though people are giving good advice about not focusing on the numbers it’s hard to stay focused when the measure you consider to be the main barometer isn’t moving much. This is why I’m thinking of weighing much less. I have such a bad relationship with the scales and I know how it impacts me wanting to continue.

@Tree2026as stupid as it sounds I’ve never thought of that. I might try removing the daily temptation.

@InevitableDownwardSpirali have the same but I don’t find them very consistent. If I step on three times in a row each reading will be different by as much as 2lb. It’s one of the reasons I hate them so much even if I know the answer is to look at the trend line. I really ought to replace them but having just paid £199 for 5mg of Mounjaro I don’t want to spend £100 on new scales.

I shall report back on whether increasing the dose helps. I’ll do my first higher dose on Monday.

Berengariaoftheverylowcountries · 17/09/2026 11:02

I am weighing once a week. I think it’s helpful to remember that your body doesn’t know it’s good to lose weight. Your body assumes fatter is better for survival. So it’s as important to eat enough as it is to reduce calories iyswim. Eventually your body will catch up 😁

TeddyBeans · 17/09/2026 20:34

Can I join? I did my first jab on 1st September but completely forgot to look for a thread! 🤦‍♀️ Third jab Tuesday just gone and currently at 5.4kg down from where I started. Got a lot to lose so I'm glad it's coming off with some pace at the moment, though I'm sure it'll slow down soon enough.

Good luck to you all 🍀

Eyelashesoffire · 18/09/2026 07:33

Hi, my first pen is arriving today. I'm a bit nervous! The courier is coming while I'm out annoyingly - does the first packet fit through a letterbox or do I need a neighbour to take it in?

Berengariaoftheverylowcountries · 18/09/2026 08:45

My box was huge as it had a sharps bin in as well.

just watched a day early as doing uni drop off, 1.1Kg down and that makes 4.1kg/9lb down so far. Which feels good. I think I will stick with 2.5 this month.

InevitableDownwardSpiral · 18/09/2026 09:32

My first box was massive too @Eyelashesoffire between the sharps box and the insulation. Definitely would fit through the letterbox.

Congrats on the loss @Berengariaoftheverylowcountries! I'm also thinking of sticking with 2.5 but will make the final call next week.

We started on the same day @TeddyBeans I'm currently 6.6lbs down, so 3kg.

Here's hoping we all continue moving in the right direction, whether fast or slow, and with minimal side effects!

Eyelashesoffire · 18/09/2026 09:45

Oh, thanks for the heads up in the size of the box. I'll need to ask a neighbour to take the parcel in.

Where do you keep a sharps bin?? I need to keep it out of the way of the kids!

Is it best to inject at night? To avoid any immediate side effects? Do you prefer weekend or weekdays. I guess once you've started you keep to the same day, if we go away for the weekend I won't want to take the pen with me. So a weekend isn't the best time?

I'm full of brain fog and my head is bursting with decisions! 😬

Berengariaoftheverylowcountries · 18/09/2026 11:12

My sharps bin is inside a sponge bag in the bathroom but I don’t have young kids in the house. Top of the wardrobe would be my suggestion. I’ve been injecting last thing Sunday night, zero side effects except maybe the uti in week one and not sure that was related, could have been coincidence, or could have been dietary changes affecting urine ph, who knows. It resolved easily. It’s not a listed side effect but I’ve seen a few people on here note it.

TeddyBeans · 18/09/2026 17:38

@InevitableDownwardSpiral twinning! 😁 Sounds like you've had a successful start! Long may it continue!

DP and I are both doing it - our sharps bins are in a top kitchen cupboard well out of the way!

Eyelashesoffire · 18/09/2026 19:40

Ok thanks for the tips about the sharps bin, they haven't actually sent one! I've emailed them. I'm assuming getting one is standard...

Berengariaoftheverylowcountries · 18/09/2026 20:10

Yes you need one for the needles. Who did you order from?

InALonelyWorld · 18/09/2026 20:28

Update on my 1st week (weigh day is tomorrow); I felt a bit off in the first few days and found i really needed to focus on the adjustments. Nothing major but i jabbed at 8pm and struggled to sleep fall asleep before 2am the first 2 nights but felt exhausted during the days. Thankfully this passed by the monday. Eating was also a bit of a chore as I felt more nauseous than hunger and was needing to remind myself to eat, then I did eat, even bland foods were causing some uncomfortable bloating.

Things have felt better over the last few days since but I hope this isnt just because my next jab is due, otherwise I dont see how i can practically continue past this pen 😞

AdventuresOfSnufkin · 19/09/2026 08:43

I started Mounjaro on 10th September. Start weight - 228lbs. I've bounced between 200lb and this weight for about 4 years. Goal is to get back to 155lbs which is about 24.9 BMI. I'm hoping I'm a strong responder to mounjaro. I had zero appetite the day after my first injection and have lost 5.2lb in 10 days (eating 1400 cals, 80-90g of protein). It's like a miracle to find it easy to eat 3 meals, no snacks and for maintaining a deficit not to feel like a struggle. Fingers crossed it stays like this. If this continues I will order another 2.5mg pen!

Eyelashesoffire · 19/09/2026 09:07

Can I just check that after the pen is first used, you can keep it out of the fridge at room temperature (not above 30 degrees). I thought they always had to be stored in the fridge?
