Hi all, I cannot find a new starters thread for September 2026 (did my first mounjaro jab today) Is there one ?

Hope she had a good day @MrsCillian my youngest is going into yr8 so I remember the first day of yr7 well.

I’ve made myself an actual list of non scale goals including the most lovely coat I’m buying provided I get it in a size smaller..!

wegovywonder · 02/09/2026 22:16

I’m so glad I’ve found this thread! I started the wegovy jab with my DH on Monday evening, first time trying WLI. I’ve noticed a bit of nausea (but have also been ovulating today & that always makes me nauseous so it might be that)!

I still find myself thinking about food but I’ve definitely noticed feeling fuller quicker and for longer. I’ve eaten much less than normal for the last couple of days but am making sure I’m eating three meals.

I’m excited for this journey!

LabOwner95 · 03/09/2026 09:36

Day 1 yesterday. Felt nauseous in the morning but just not much appetite the rest of the day. I struggled to finish my meals. I felt snacky in the evening but unsure if I was actually hungry or just out of habit. I had a few carrot sticks and felt full 🤣 So bizarre. Really hope this works!

TwilightAb · 03/09/2026 11:45

So I've just taken the plunge and ordered the wegovy tablet. Starting weight is 16 stone 12 and absolutely need to lose a lot of weight! I'm peri menopausal and have been doing more exercise in the last year, my diet h
fluctuates from being very good to terrible so hoping the pill will help with the food noise. Just waiting to be verified!

Gizmosgremlins · 03/09/2026 11:54

I've just picked up my first prescription. The chemist has given me needles but no swaps...should I wait until I can get swaps 9r just go ahead?

Cheesecake53 · 03/09/2026 12:21

Just buy swaps in the pharmacy.

Gizmosgremlins · 03/09/2026 12:31

Swab found, first dose taken. Nerve wracking stuff!

LittleGreenDragons · 03/09/2026 16:29

I would like to join but I will be taking the tablets once RM decide to deliver them. As much as I want to lose weight (18st8lb 😩) I really want the auto immune inflammation to reduce and I've seen others on different threads saying it has helped with theirs.

Good luck everyone!

PatChaunceysFruitCake · 03/09/2026 16:54

Good luck @Gizmosgremlins

@TwilightAbI finally managed to stick to a 3 times a week gym habit about three years ago. I’m so much stronger and fitter but no thinner!

I do feel smug when I read about the importance of strength training for women though. I guess that’s something.

Forcing down an Aldi protein shake as I have body pump tonight. By the time I’ve picked DD up it’s 20.15 so I do feel I should have some sort of snack. Usually I’d have fallen on any food like a hyena on a scabby corpse. Since I started on Mounjaro I’ve had no interest in snaking.

Can I join? This isn’t my first rodeo as I lost loads of weight April to Oct last year but then had to come off as diagnosed with cancer. I ate like a pig and drank like a fish through the stress - so guess what I put back on 2 stone….anyway I am through my treatment and have been cleared to start MJ again. Just done week 3 of 2.5 … have lost 3kg which I am pleased about. I upped the doses each month last time and had quite a lot of side effects - in the mistaken belief that the higher the dose the quicker the loss. Not true it’s not a fat burner - so this time will probably stay on the low dose if getting sufficient suppression and mentally take my time. It was the best feeling in the world being slim - can’t wait to get back to that soon. Best of luck to you all.

hiddeneverythin · 03/09/2026 21:46

Hi everyone! I’ve just ordered Wegovy injections. I plan on taking my first one on Monday morning as I am night shift this weekend so don’t want any side effects on top of trying to sleep during the day. Excited but scared

MrsCillian · 03/09/2026 21:51

Hi to all the new people 👋. Hope everyone has had a good day! I've e still felt hungry today but have felt fuller for longer after my meals, especially since dinner.

Randomly loads of anti GLP stuff has shown on my Instagram feed today! I don't know why?! It's making me have a wobble. All stuff about pancreatitis and people saying it's the worst thing they've ever done! I hadn't even searched any of this so don't know why I'm seeing it!

Berengariaoftheverylowcountries · 03/09/2026 23:16

@MrsCillianignore the social media nonsense. This medication has been around for decades. Pancreatitis is rare but known but it has to be seen in the context of the other conditions people often have alongside being overweight. All of which makes you more likely to develop pancreatitis with or without WL medication!
I’ve had a really good couple of days. Can’t believe how much food noise I heard before. Feeling very positive.

katy1111 · 03/09/2026 23:44

Hi all, would like to join too. I took my first Mounjaro jab last Friday. Have been feeling nauseous first thing in the mornings but otherwise ok. Have lost appetite completely and lost 3lb this week. Although today appetite has come back (which has been quite nice in a way) so definitely ready for 2nd jab tomorrow. Hope everyone’s feeling ok and side effects aren’t too bad. I was nervous about jabbing myself but didn’t even feel the needle when I finally did it!

Troytroytroy · 04/09/2026 00:00

Hi everyone, I’d love to join as well. I took my first dose of mounjaro last Saturday. First time ever for me. I felt my appetite reduce but haven’t prepped as much as I’d like so not tracked my protein and calorie intake yet. Will start asap to keep me in right track. Not felt any side effects yet, hoping it stays that way

@NNYYCCpleased your treatment has been successful. What a difficult time it must have been.

I’m a firm believer that you can only spin so many plates at any one time. Sometimes weight loss and the constant attention to what you are eating and how much exercise you’re doing is a plate you can’t spin.

I’ve battled the same two stone for years but the third stone is new. It has gone on fast and is definitely a result of grief and stress this year.

Gizmosgremlins · 04/09/2026 09:30

Morning all, after my first jab yesterday I felt nothing at all but woke up this morning very nauseous. I'm managed some water and a bit of soreen and feeling a bit better. Seems to come in waves. Also didnt have my usual morning trip to the loo so it is obviously taking effect.

Thankyou. Sometimes I like to believe that if it goes on quick (or recent) it can come off quick - a bit like setting cement! No scientific basis what so ever but it keeps the hope alive.

AxisofEvelKnievel · 04/09/2026 15:13

Weighed in today, I’m 77 kg—down from 78.5 kg—so that is pleasing (first jab last Saturday August 29th, second jab tomorrow). I won’t be weighing on jab day as I don’t have access to my PT’s super accurate mechanical scales on Saturday.

Still getting very mild suppression but not much. I do know from the first one that Saturday, Sunday, & Monday will feature intense suppression so I’ll have to be careful to get all my protein in.

PatChaunceysFruitCake · 04/09/2026 17:23

Here’s hoping @NNYYCC!

Aintgointogoa · 04/09/2026 20:38

Just catching up now...had my first jab yday afternoon, administered by home nurse which I can book every week. It only costs about a fiver so it's worth it for a stress free experience ! I don't think I have felt any side effects, esp not nausea, but the day was sent skew whiff as a looming sore throat developed from the morning into a very painful strep throat by lunchtime 😕
I felt absolutely dreadful. So I didn't feel like eating at all in any event, not when it hurts that much to swallow ! I got some anti b's earlier today and the numbing spray stuff at least I'm comfortable. Have just had fruit, yogurt and a sprinkle of granola. I will prob have some steamed veg for supper. Not going to weigh until next Thurs morning, before afternoon jab. Hope for even a leeetle surprise 🤞

SleepyWhippetMum · 05/09/2026 08:32

Hello everyone, I'd love to join please 👋🏼

I just had my first mounjaro dose yesterday. Felt dizzy and sick a couple of hours later and then was up at 5am vomiting. Felt better afterwards though and I did get a very rich takeaway for lunch yesterday so wondering (hoping) that contributed. I feel like I might have an upset tummy the other end in a minute 💩

Ideally I'd like to lose 2st which has crept on after 3 kids and a divorce!

Hope you are all getting on ok and excited for this journey 🥰

EnglishGirlApproximately · 05/09/2026 15:08

Hi all, can I join please? Not strictly a new starter, I lost 14 kilo on MJ late last year and early this year and naively thought I was ready to go it alone. I've put 2 kilo back on over the summer so I'm back to it a d this time committing to however long it takes. I've gone back with Voy for now on a returner discount, I know they're pricey but I found the app kept me on track.

Looking forward to going into winter back on it 🤞🏻
