Hi, ill join. Took my first wegovy tablet today! First time doing anything like this so hoping for good results.

Formerdarkhorse · 01/09/2026 14:02

I took my first jab on Sunday- surprised to feel the effects same day.
my first time too- I eat healthily, exercise, etc but can’t shift the scales/body’s fat % so hoping this will help.

Tree2026 · 01/09/2026 14:03

Hello both !! Good luck on your journeys ! I have downloaded the Nutracheck app today as well, to track food, as one of the biggest challenges for me will be getting enough protein.

Hi,

I'm starting Monday aa we're away this weekend with food planned for both nights.

I've been prescribed this by my gp to get my blood sugar down but I'm obviously going to get the much needed weight loss as well.

I'm vegetarian so can struggle sometimes to hit protein targets.

Kayemm · 01/09/2026 14:23

@Formerdarkhorse , what effects did you feel?

InevitableDownwardSpiral · 01/09/2026 14:54

I’ll join you all. Took my first Mounjaro jab this morning. Also my first time doing anything like this and am quite nervous. Onwards and downwards :)

Formerdarkhorse · 01/09/2026 15:03

@Kayemm my appetite seemed to reduce same day- I was expecting it might have taken a while.
so far no negative side effects but did have very limited appetite yesterday so getting the protein will be a struggle

Gizmosgremlins · 01/09/2026 16:20

I'm due to collect my first mounjarno jab tomorrow. I'm very nervous about getting any severe side effects but hoping I'll be okay.

Tree2026 · 01/09/2026 16:34

Good luck everyone!!

I'm waiting on delivery of my Wegovy jab. My first time, also. Excited and nervous.

Berengariaoftheverylowcountries · 01/09/2026 23:14

Joining. Took first jab on Monday.
Currently weighing in at 128 kg having been above 100kg for25 years or more
target is to get below 100……
Got to shift some KG as menopause is going to be a shitshow otherwise
So far my appetite seems lower and it’s been weirdly easy to avoid chocolate today.

seahorsessky · 01/09/2026 23:34

Felt a bit dizzy, but am maybe just tired.

Chopsy123 · 02/09/2026 03:51

Hi guys. Congratulations on taking your first tentative steps into your new amazing slimmer life. 🎉👏👏

It’s hard to believe it was a year ago when I joined the September 25 starters group and have slowly lost 4.5 stones since then on Mounjaro and have dropped from a size 22/24 to a size 12. I had a few headaches to start with but no serious side effects after the first couple of weeks (other than occasional mild constipation), so hopefully, you’ll all be grand too.

Best of luck! 🍀

I took my first jab last night. 2nd time round for me. I was so sick last year but kept going up the doses despite it being too much for me.
Feeling a bit sick this morning but going to have some breakfast and going to try a bit of mind over matter. Going to stay in the lowest dose until it stops being effective, rather than going up every four week regardless.

Berengariaoftheverylowcountries · 02/09/2026 09:39

I spoke to an endocrinologist colleague before starting. He very much advises staying as low as you can. Slow and steady is the way 😀 he said view the injections as a head wind to help. He also said people ascribe their weight to lack of will power (and feel guilty) but that is simply not the case. He used a thermostat analogy - my thermostat is set higher and so my body keeps driving on to consume. WLI help you switch off the drive. I don’t know if it’s psychosomatic or what but I usually get snacky at work. Yesterday it just didn’t happen. Weird but good. I don’t care if it’s psychological or physical - it works.

NotStandingTall · 02/09/2026 10:16

I would love to join 😊
I took my second jab last night so I’m a week into it. Very nervous to start but pleased I did!
I stocked up on high protein drinks, porridge etc and I’ve been eating and drinking those to keep my protein up.
I didn’t eat an excessive amount before but I was drawn to the wrong things and night time snacking on chocolate and crisps was a problem.
since I took my first jab I have not even thought about snacks, I’m eating a small lunch and dinner and filling the gaps protein rich drinks etc.

Im 56 years old, 5’ 1’’ and weighed 11st 11lb when I started.
I lost 3lb last week and I’m happy with that.
no side effects last week but after taking this second jab I feel a bit tired and ‘fuzzy’ today

I don’t work Wednesdays so that’s why I chose to jab on a Tuesday incase I felt a bit off …

can’t wait to hear all your stories and if anyone has any questions just give me a shout..

Looking forward to the journey with you all 😁

LabOwner95 · 02/09/2026 11:56

Hi all, I took my first Mounjaro jab yesterday. Wasn't even slightly painful! Felt nauseous this morning but mostly fine now. Have already noticed reduced appetite. Going forwards I will be injecting on Tuesday evenings and weighing on Wednesday morning. Good luck everyone!

Aintgointogoa · 02/09/2026 13:20

Hullo all ! I am hopping aboard tomorrow.....first Mounjaro jab, 2.5 ml.
I found a home visit service who will administer for me, which takes the anxiety out of it. I do have a tendency towards nausea when under par so hope that won't be a major problem. And been invited to a supper club on Friday (paying a fee) now wondering if I should go ahead if my appetite disappears ! It is Vietnamese food tho (I would have the vegetarian main, which is tofu) which will be delish and I guess I can take my Tupperware 😉 ..
best of luck September cohort, look forward to updates 🤗

@Berengariaoftheverylowcountries this also pretty much sums up what my specialist told me. Good analogy.

I felt a bit sick today, had a small breakfast and lunch then became ravenous!! Had a large snack/small meal and some chocolate. Had a terrible headache all day. Appetite seems to be a bit all over the place today!

I also felt nauseous this morning, but this was also after a migraine, which I am really hoping was just bad timing rather than as a result of the jab! Haven't felt like eating, though have thought about food if that makes sense ?!

I’ve felt the same today, a little nauseous but also really tired 🤔
I know I didn’t feel like this last week after taking my first dose. I’ve managed to eat something but to be honest I didn’t feel like it at all
Im hoping it passes before tomorrow 🤞

AxisofEvelKnievel · 02/09/2026 20:16

I had my first Mounjaro 2.5 jab on Saturday August 29th so I thought it would probably be better for me to join the September starters’ thread.

I have had good suppression since Saturday evening—I’ve not been able to finish supper since. That said, I still look forward to my meals and had two glasses of wine last night. Didn’t want pudding, and have stopped snacking completely. Have also felt quite “not myself”, mainly on Sunday & Monday, but no nausea.

PatChaunceysFruitCake · 02/09/2026 21:19

I’ve been waiting for a September thread! I had my second Mounjaro jab on Monday. It felt late to join August’s thread.

So far side effects have been minimal. I’ve found it easy to stick to 2/3 high protein meals with no snacks in between. I’ve always eaten healthy meals but my snacking was out of control.

Peri and grief has given me another stone to contend with. My weight was only going one way so feels good I’m taking some control back.

I lost 3lb in the first week which I’m delighted with given how hard I’ve always found losing weight.

I need to lose 3 stone eventually. I’ve already met my first goal though… pants to stop rolling down my belly when I bend over. That must have been bloat.

MrsCillian · 02/09/2026 21:39

Good luck this week everyone 😊

My eldest DC started high school today so that could also have contributed to the headache and the up and down appetite?

@PatChaunceysFruitCake I love that you've hit your first goal and what a brilliant one it was!
