I started my mounjaro journey this weekend (Friday) but thought I would start a July thread as it is so close to the start of the new month.

My background - I love good food. My issue isn't necessary that I eat the wrong stuff it is just that I eat too much. I enjoy nice restaurants, Michelin stars and cooking from scratch. But my portion control is terrible. I overeat, regret it and can't leave food on my plate. I also run a food and drink related business. And I make excuses.

In the past I have lost large amounts of weight but this time I have struggled. Peri menopause, going through an adult ADHD diagnosis, a herniated disc (twice) and running your own small business isn't always conducive to WL. I was approved last year for Mounjaro via my GP and then, after my appointment, there were changes and it was pulled. It set me back massively and then, after some big bills at work, I just didn't feel like I could justify the costs and tried, but failed, to lose weight just by dieting.

Recently I went back to my GP and they did some tests and after a few different appointments I was fortunate enough to be approved again and given a prescription last week. I had my first jab on Friday and am determined to make a difference, change my mindset and get back to enjoying life again. There is a long way to go but I am taking one day at a time.

Hopefully there will be some other July starters here and we can support each other, share tips etc.

Second last weigh-in for me - 10st 4lbs. Very happy with this.

I took the last dose of my second pen yesterday. Feeling a bit off today however it will pass. I also received my third pen which I have stashed at the back of the fridge. It expires at the end of February and I’m pretty sure it will come in handy in January anyway. I’ve cancelled my subscription now.

YourJollyGoose · 18/09/2026 08:27

I haven’t posted for a while as been busy. I have now done 6 weeks at 2.5mg and the rest of 5mg. I had a slow few weeks of either stay the same or 0.5lbs loss but it was the end of the school hols, now we’re back into routine it’s coming off nicely again. My daily calories are good but I do need to focus on eating a bit more healthily and whilst I’m getting in 10k+ steps a day I’ve yet to add in the strength training I planned. Had to stop running as had a flare up of plantar fasciitis but it’s under control now. I think once I’ve lost a bit more I’ll try again as I cannot see how I will maintain without some serious exercise going on!

Some non scale victories- I can get my wedding ring off! Have gone down 1-2 sizes in clothes especially bras!!! Most importantly I feel better, in both body and mind.

The odd person is noticing now although I have already been told be careful you don’t want to lose your pretty face 🙄 I still have a long way to go lol

Starting weight 190lb
Current weight 170lb (now in overweight category woohoo)

Hi All, I am 2 calendar months in and have lost exactly a stone, which is very modest compared to some of you, but I'm reasonably happy with it.
I'm still on 35 clicks of a 2.5mg pen, which gives me decent enough suppression without too much brain fog. Most mornings I am quite shaky though.

RedFatball · 19/09/2026 12:01

Been a good week here so far - I have managed to keep up with the running and other bits and <drumroll> ran 5km! Which would have been completely unthinkable 3 months ago. I've also now lost 20% of my starting weight which feels insane.

sadly I now have to invest in new clothes as my old ones are actually falling off me and none of my colleagues need to see the Big Knickers...

JuicyPie · 19/09/2026 13:35

I am 2 months in and 2 stone down, feeling very pleased and hoping it continues, I would love to lose another 2 stone and get to 10st although that would have me at the higher end of weight for my height, I havent been 10st since I got married 14 years.ago!

missedtherainbow · 20/09/2026 07:32

Weigh in day! 11th jab due tonight
SW: 18stone 1ib
last week 15st
CW: 14stone 11lb
3lb loss this week.
I was really excited at the thought of getting under 15stone but instead can’t stop thinking about getting under 14stone.
Ive got a meeting tomorrow with someone I haven’t seen since I started the injections back in July and am secretly hoping they will comment on my weight loss but I won’t be too disappointed if they don’t as I know I still have a long way to go yet but my clothes are definitely a lot looser and even my shoes are too big now!

DaringlyDizzy · 20/09/2026 08:08

Officially a whole month with only 0.5lb lost. Gutted beyond words. Calories always around 1200kcal, give or take 100kcal. Weight lifting several times a week and cardio too like dance. Supplements taken. Only thing I struggle with is water intake

Squiggle13 · 20/09/2026 12:38

I weighed in this morning as had a busy day Friday and I have officially lost 1 1/2 stone. Also in another stone bracket 🙌 and 10% of starting weight!

Like @missedtherainbow so excited to get into 12, but now I’m thinking about getting into 11!

Very pleased, I’ve had a bit of diarrhoea again since moving up my dose but feel ok now.

SW: 14st 5.5lbs
CW: 12st 12.5lbs
Total loss: 21lbs
Week 9

I do really need to up my water intake and start some form of exercise though. I have been so unwell (unrelated) for most of my journey that I haven’t had the energy.

3 months done and 21lb lost, so 1.75lb per week. Most people don’t notice yet- or don’t comment, although someone I haven’t seen for a while did. I love that my clothes fit better, bought some new jeans at the weekend, usual size but wish I’d waited a bit longer as they seem a bit too big. I’m going up to 5 next pen, just wondering whether to count clicks or go for the full dose

Weigh in day today - 0.8 lbs loss this week. Really wanted to drop into the 12 stone something range. There’s always next week!
I did indulge slightly over the weekend as I was out several time and it was difficult choosing healthy things.
13 lbs off since starting MJ.
SW 14st
CW 13st 0.4 lbs
GW 12 st
As I mentioned before I started dieting before Mounjaro and have now lost a total of 1 st 9.6lbs.

RedFatball · Yesterday 14:38

Tomorrow is jab and weigh for me. Not confident I've lost anything much this week, but we shall see. Running and strength training planned for this evening so you never know! Planned run is 4km which is going to test me...

LovelyLapin · Yesterday 15:37

Down 23.6b since starting MJ (but 36lb since I started dieting so no big first week loss on MJ). I am overjoyed with this.

I’ve switched from spin to resistance and weights classes and looking forward to starting PT sessions soon.

Still on 2.5mg (but using a 5mg pen now).

Thinking about starting running again soon. Down to a size 12 so just wanting to get more toned and aiming for 147 for a healthy BMI.

Start the running! Couch to 5k is a great programme and there are loads of free apps. Good shoes and a good bra and away you go. I am loving running (until about 6.20pm this evening when I will hit km3 and question my life choices...)

Twinwife · Yesterday 18:39

Week 13 for me and I’m down 25lb, so about 1-2lb a week overall. Im delighted!

The weight loss plateaued a few weeks ago and the noise was coming back, so I increased to 5mg with my 2.5mg pen. It made such a difference, so I have now ordered a 5mg pen moving forwards.

Not too much left to go now for me , maybe 4lb to get to my target, but will see how I am and drop a bit lower. I’m not sure!

my mind is slowly looking at maintaining. I really struggled when the 2.5 mg was weaning off!

VimtoPrincess · Today 07:27

Wednesday is jab day for me. I'm on my 3rd pen at 2.5 so will take my last dose of 2.5 tomorrow. I've ordered 5mg pen as food noise is slightly returning and I'm having to work a bit harder to stay on track. I've lost just short of 2 stone since 8th June so happy with that and no side effects apart from a bit of constipation.

Buzzyfeeder · Today 13:12

Weigh in today and dose 11 - down 22lbs overall, steady. Felt a bit trapped with my new 2.5 pen but it will be my last and plan to go to 5mg and 35?clicks so a less than 5 dose, but 4 jabs to go first !! Definitely feel clothes fit better, more energy and an improved verve about me for sure - no regrets about starting! 28lbs to go to target - it’s ever closer!
