July 2026 Mounjaro starters

BritbirdUK · 28/06/2026 11:49

I started my mounjaro journey this weekend (Friday) but thought I would start a July thread as it is so close to the start of the new month.

My background - I love good food. My issue isn't necessary that I eat the wrong stuff it is just that I eat too much. I enjoy nice restaurants, Michelin stars and cooking from scratch. But my portion control is terrible. I overeat, regret it and can't leave food on my plate. I also run a food and drink related business. And I make excuses.

In the past I have lost large amounts of weight but this time I have struggled. Peri menopause, going through an adult ADHD diagnosis, a herniated disc (twice) and running your own small business isn't always conducive to WL. I was approved last year for Mounjaro via my GP and then, after my appointment, there were changes and it was pulled. It set me back massively and then, after some big bills at work, I just didn't feel like I could justify the costs and tried, but failed, to lose weight just by dieting.

Recently I went back to my GP and they did some tests and after a few different appointments I was fortunate enough to be approved again and given a prescription last week. I had my first jab on Friday and am determined to make a difference, change my mindset and get back to enjoying life again. There is a long way to go but I am taking one day at a time.

Hopefully there will be some other July starters here and we can support each other, share tips etc.

@MamaK19 I would just switch to a different provider. I do it with every order, well, I just ordered twice. Doing the whole registration twice just costs a bit time and is worth the money I think.

MamaK19 · 07/08/2026 22:24

Aw thanks @Cheesecake53 it sounds like it’s more straight forward to do that to be honest

RedFatball · 07/08/2026 22:41

I had my first with medexpress and then switched to Bolt - I have a referral code for them if you want @MamaK19 - I'll send in PM?

JuicyPie · 08/08/2026 07:31

Only 2lbs off this week, will take my 4th Injection this evening and then I have ordered the 5mg pen for after that.

Finally, finally started to feel full sooner than usual ladt night and didn’t finish dinner. 🤞

FishersGate · 08/08/2026 15:26

3rd injection yesterday and I feel awful again today. Its becoming really unmanageable its wiping me out 2 3 days over the weekend 🙃 . Felt a bit better last week but awful today. Sickness nausea stomach pain. Lethargy

BatshitIsTheOnlyExplanation · 08/08/2026 18:22

@FishersGate sorry to hear that.
How about skipping a week before your next dose or just having a half dose next time?

I think I might have to its working but I cant waste 2 days feeling ill. I am away from next Monday too and was planning on taking abroad but I dont want to be ill on holiday. Its so weird it was manageable last week but today horrendous 😫

BatshitIsTheOnlyExplanation · 08/08/2026 20:18

Maybe you could have a break on holiday, see how you feel afterwards, then plan next dose accordingly?

BatshitIsTheOnlyExplanation · 08/08/2026 20:19

I feel like providers of MJ tell you you "have to" do 2.5mg for 4 doses, but it's not a hard and fast rule.

BatshitIsTheOnlyExplanation · 08/08/2026 20:20

I had one dose, felt pretty ropey, skipped a week, then returned on a 2/3 dose, which still wasn't brilliant, but a lot better.

I think so. Or maybe half dose I know a few people doing this. So weird how it affects everyone I put off taking it for the side effects then got them. 😅

Weigh in day, 6th injection due tonight on 2.5 dose
SW: 18.1st
W1: 17.3st
W2: 17st
W3: 16.11st
W4: 16.9st
CW: 16.5st

I think the exercise has shown in weight loss this week. 4lb away from my first 2stone. Still a long way to go but feeling positive.
Are there any other benefits from going up to the next dose apart from food suppression?
Not sure if I should go up on next order or not.

Squiggle13 · 09/08/2026 07:58

@missedtherainbow another great loss! Well done. 🙌

Weigh in day for me as well, another 3.5lb off, so 12.5lb in total. Really pleased.

SW: 14st 5.5lb
W1: 14st
W2: 13st 10.5lb
W3: 13st 7lb

Really struggling this week though, I’ve been diagnosed with Trigeminal* *neuralgia after pain which I thought was tooth related. The pain is relentless and eating and drinking is such a trigger that between that and the jabs I’m really struggling to eat or drink anything. Finally got some meds but can take weeks for it to kick in. Both dr and pharmacy said it’s ok for me to continue.

Hope the medication works quickly for you and well done on the weight loss!
Im excited to be getting nearer my goal even if it is a long way to go yet. I’m feeling so much better in myself and looking forward to things. I haven’t felt like that for a long time.
Im going off on a walk in the sun in a bit 🤗

Oh gosh @Squiggle13 i really feel for you - I have this too. Thankfully I only have a flare up every few years and then they give me a cocktail of drugs including tramadol! Hope it eases for you soon x

ReneBallard · 09/08/2026 09:13

This is ridiculous and crazy but whenever I’m watching tv now I really notice slim actresses and keep telling myself I’ll be and to wear clothes like that soon. Only hope I’m not selling myself lies as when I ask chat gpt to chart what my loss might look like, it’s disappointing!

Cheesecake53 · 09/08/2026 09:23

@missedtherainbow That are great losses! I would only go up if the food suppression is waning well off. But I have a lot to lose and need to space out the single doses to last me well over a year, so that might cloud my judgement, too :).

DaringlyDizzy · 09/08/2026 09:54

The scales are finally moving again. After my whoosh the scales went up and then wouldnt move down. Jabbed Wednesday and was back to my previous week weight on Friday and this morning I am finally a pound lighter!

Hoping this means things are moving again and will be down another pound by Wednesday

I’ve literally been given no guidance whatsoever, been told that traditional pain meds won’t work, I’m on an epilepsy drug.

I started getting pain this time last year, but thought it was tooth, so went to dentists and actually needed a few fillings so assumed that was it, but after my last flare up dentist did x-rays and nothing wrong. Been having pain for about a month now, my longest. I’m really hoping the meds help, if not I’ll have to go back buy dr didn’t seem to care when I was literally crying in the appointment.

Snap. Went down 9lbs in 2 weeks then up a lb a week later! Very disappointing.
Never mind. I'll keep on keeping on.

purplepie1 · Yesterday 07:10

Weigh in day.

SW 14 st
CW 13 st 10.2lbs (-3.8lbs)
GW 12 st

A loss of 3.8lbs - very happy with this. I haven’t see 13 st on my scales for a very long time.

I’ve been dieting since the end of May this year and at most lost 2lb per week but a lot of weeks there was no change at all. I started at 14st 10lbs.

NSWs so far - down one cup size in my bra and two notches on my belt. Also the huge one today was I walked downstairs in bare feet and no pain. For a long time I have had to put on shoes before walking downstairs but still had a lot of pain.

since being in MJ for 2 weeks my weight loss is now faster.

Please do!! I felt SO crap and disheartened. I dropped from 17st 5 to 16st 3 and then back to 16st 8??? Like randomly. Stayed high for a week and then it just suddenly started dropping and over the 10 days has now dropped to 16st on the dot. Crazy. I dont know if my bosy just suddenly retains lots of water and various points of the month or what but dont let it get you down
