Looks like our first thread is almost full so thought I'd start a new one and link it.
The one where we head into the summer feeling lighter and hopefully on the right path x

I am down another 0.9kg this morning, and had my first half dose of the 5mg pen. I checked to see if the needles that my daughter had had previously on prescription (she had CF related diabetes, but with the new medications for cystic fibrosis she no longer has it) and they did, which is great as so long as I can use the pen direct Im happier to use that menthod. Im sure that I will get used to drawing it off if need be.
around a kilo a week is great. As previously, Im going for long long term use, in the hope that the lymphodema/ inflammation trials show that it is useful and it finally gets added to the prescribed medications. Im not wildly hopeful but there are numerous small things that have improved beyond the weight loss - the most notible is the horrendous IBS that meant I often didnt go out or avoided eating because I could never be too sure what would trigger it. That was an instant side effect.
my only dodgy side effects are a tendancy towards constipation if I dont keep on top of the kiwi fruit, and a bit too much burping and farting..... although I struggle with hitting the protein targets. I try not to eat processed stuff too much hence not going for the shakes, but I probably should look into those a bit more.
starting weight 94
current weight 83.1
target weight 60

messychesh · 05/07/2026 12:10

@NettleTea I have a £50 off medexpress, they accept switchers. Also, Psyllium husk in your shake should help

pomegranatepie · 05/07/2026 12:41

@NettleTea I have started using this protein powder in my smoothie on low appetite days-https://www.grapetree.co.uk/dr-vegan-protein-and-creatine-superblend-powder-450g

It's got no nasties in it, tastes fairly benign (I add some cacao, greek yogurt, peanut butter and a banana and either water or milk usually) it keeps my energy levels up all day.

messychesh · 05/07/2026 14:19

@DumpedByText I have a code for £50 off medexpress. I did look on Bolt when I restarted but this was cheaper.

MyGardenDaisies · 06/07/2026 15:25

Hello!

How is everyone doing ?

I just took 13th jab.

-11.3kg in 12 weeks. Probably a bit more as I’m bloated and constipated on period but go to take the numbers from scales.

I have been struggling a bit lately as it’s PMS, some stress, less water, more cravings creeping in, so still in a deficit but much less than before.

Pen 1: -6.5kg
pen 2: -3.3kg
pen 3: -1.5kg

Overall have lost 25+kg in the last 10 months, so it’s been a long time in deficit already, but really resetting my mindset this week, tracking food day before and being stricter with calories, to get back to -0.8kg/week on average.

TFICoffeetime · 07/07/2026 01:09

Great losses & progress. 👏
Can't sleep tonight hence late post.
I'm due to take the last dose of a 7.5mg pen. Considering taking last dose and golden dose few days after - as 30 days coming up.

I lost 5lbs this week putting me at 10 stone 6.

Started at 12st3 back in April and my target weight is currently 9stone or 8.5stone depending where I feel is right when I get there.

I'm considering staying at 7.5 for another 4 weeks and see what loss is like.

I'm averaging 1lb a week mainly - but lost 5 this week as I had a 2 week break so I think restarting gave my body a bit of a metabolic kick. I was so tired I needed the break, & pleased it's not hampered progress.

Anyone else on 7.5 or higher - how are your symptoms/ losses? Have you found staying at the dose is effective & haven't needed to go higher? Anyone above 7.5 - how's it been? Xxx
Thanks

MyGardenDaisies · 07/07/2026 08:45

Morning!

-0.6kg overnight, so back to -12kg in 12w1d.

I’ve got no experience with higher than 5mg and don’t think I will, as it’s just not affordable for me above 5mg.

pomegranatepie · 07/07/2026 09:37

I'm now two stone lighter than I was when I started in April, and feel so much better in my body.

I'm still on 3.75, weight loss is definitely slowing, but still creeping down. I'm reluctant to go up a dose as I'm worried about worsening fatigue, and I am still finding it effective - now I am back in the healthy BMI range I'm happy to lose a bit more slowly.

I messed up my jab a bit this week, I moved my injection site to my thigh for the first time, and was sleepy as I jabbed later at night, and noticed that the needle had slipped and I had a large pool of liquid on my leg- so I added a few extra clicks and injected again - totally unscientific! I have ridiculously high suppression now, oops. It still won't even have been as much as 5mg though.

It's my 50th birthday party this weekend, my dress fits like a glove, so goal #1 achieved!

Well your doing well. I think because I've had pre diabetes and had diabetes in my pregnancies I need more to get a 1 or 2 lb loss. Just hoping it will speed up & I can get on maintenance...it is so much money. Xx

It seems to be really random how high a dose people need for effective weight loss. Such a shame it's so expensive! I don't think I can justify the cost long term, but I find the relief of not having to obsess about how much I am eating so liberating. I am really worried about what it's going to be like once I have to stop.

TFICoffeetime · 07/07/2026 11:54

I've heard from few people maintenance they have found good. And haven't gained. So fingers 🤞 X

Z0rr0 · 07/07/2026 15:30

Hey all. My weight loss continues verrrryy slowly. About a pound a week. I’m on 5mg pen. Appetite suppression is good, I’m not eating a lot and wish it would go a bit faster tbh, but the continued downward trend is something I suppose. Lost about 1 stone 5lb I think. Am going away for two weeks in just over a fortnight and really hoped to weigh a bit less but at this point if I lose another couple of pounds I’ll be lucky. Not really sure what other changes I can make to speed things up tbh. I walk an hour every day. Eat mainly soup and salads or veg and fish. No real carbs. Very little sugar. It’s frustrating but maybe to be expected as I was already eating like this before I began the jabs, just with hunger making me snack, so maybe dropping the snacking amounts to minimal calories.
I could stop drinking, but really resent the idea of having to stop every pleasurable thing. I already cut right back to a glass of wine and a gin on the weekend. I’ll think about it I suppose.
If I get to a stone and a half I’ll have about a stone left to lose I guess. That would put me at 10.5 stone at 5’6.
Will keep plugging away.
Anyway, I came to ask about holidays. Have realised it’s a bit of a faff taking everything away with me - sharps box and all. But then again I don’t want to not take the jabs and eat loads while I’m away. Those of you who’ve been away, did you take everything and jab while on hols?
Congrats btw to everyone still losing. It’s encouraging to see all your progress.

MyGardenDaisies · 08/07/2026 06:28

Morning jabbers!

Another -0.2kg overnight, so now -12.2kg and new lower.

Can’t believe I’ve lost 26.5kg, that’s like a suitcase and a carry on 🥺

Still 28.5kg to go. Can’t wait to be more than half way there, current progress shows as 48%.

ElvisandAngel · 08/07/2026 07:28

I have weighed myself this morning and I have lost 27lbs since the 24th April and I can’t quite believe it.

Still on 3.75mg and still have at least another 2 stone to lose to be a comfortable weight for me. This would put me at around a size 14/16 but I am tall.

This week I have started to feel smaller and can now see the loss more, I am still wearing the same clothes but they are looser and look better on me.

I am just so pleased that it is working.

22sra · 08/07/2026 10:16

Just back from holiday late last night - 10 days AI with the kids.
and I’ve put on 1.4kg 🫣 still under 80kg, just!
Hopefully it won’t take long to get back on track.

TFICoffeetime · 08/07/2026 10:44

So a day after my 3rd 7.5mg I felt nauseous all day, & the thought of food was making me feel sick. This was yesterday and didn't sleep well because of it. Then this turned to diorreah.
I've never had this, my normal side effects would be slight headache & feeling tired.

Has anyone had nausea diorreah suddenly a day after jab? How long did it take to go?

I introduced electrolytes yesterday but surely that can't have been that strong to upset.
I want to eat so I don't feel worse but the thought of it is awful.

messychesh · 08/07/2026 12:28

I've never gone over 5mg but I get the 10mg pen and split it so I get 2 months out of it and that's cheaper than 2 x 5mg pens.
I found this the cheapest and you can switch. I am so skint so this gives you and me £50 off. MedExpress: N6YYA2

MyGardenDaisies · 09/07/2026 09:04

-1.7kg since monday and new low, down from 135.7 to 122.6! -13.1kg in 12w3d. I must have been super bloated on period.

My strict calorie adherence and tracking food day before to avoid in the moment decisions is clearly helping. Super happy!

Visceral fat down to 19, it had been in 20s for 3 years!!
and BMI down from. 42.9 to 38.7 since I started mounjaro.

I’m on 7.5mg MJ. I just finished a pen and bought another 7.5mg. It’s expensive but i think it’s significantly better than 5mg for me
I find appetite suppression is stronger. And i feel full quite quickly.
Side effects: definitely some hair loss (but I have thick hair, so not bothered). I’m also tired but that’s been the case since the first jab. I think it’s tied to the calorie deficit.

I love that my clothes fit more easily and that i can cross my legs. So much more comfortable!!

MyGardenDaisies · 10/07/2026 06:06

I’m starting to see my C section overhang go from a “hang” to a bulge” at the ends of it, so it looks narrower, and it’s genuinely made me emotional. I think it’s the idea of my stomach looking a bit more like
it used to before pregnancy, a bit more familiar.
Sounds vain, but back to back pregnancies really feel like you lose control of your body (for me), so nice to feel the prospect of coming back to it

yes, I am accepting that the body changes after pregnancy, but I dont want to look like in my final trimester for the rest of my life

Week 2 loss 2kg 88
Week 3 loss 2kg 86

NorthDevonBeachLover · 10/07/2026 09:02

After giving my head a wobble last week and stepping firmly away from the biscuits I'm 1lb down this week. A busy weekend ahead working in the heat (sadly in a kitchen) so I'm hoping to sweat at least another 1lb off!!
Hope everyone is well x

I have stepped on the scales today (staying with husband’s family for 2 weeks) and have put on 3lbs 😭 First gain since I’ve started, and although there had been more snacking and the odd alcoholic refreshment, I didn’t think I’d over indulged that much. Just shows that you really need to track as I’ve been hitting my steps daily and managed a strength session. Hope everyone else has a better week 🤞

thinkofsomethingdifferent · 10/07/2026 09:43

Morning everyone. I’ve not weighed yet as I have to go to boots in my local town, but I made a bit of a cockup this week. I appear to have injected it either into a vein or capillary. Lots of blood, large lump under the skin. MedExpress weren’t massively concerned but they did say the side effects might hit hard, which can’t have done as they were no different to any other week. I’m annoyed as I can literally see the veins in my thighs, so why I put it there who knows. Lesson learned! What I have noticed though is that it doesn’t seem to be lasting as long. I jabbed Tuesday (5), and it’s Friday morning and I’m hungry. I don’t even get a sniff of hunger usually until the Monday. I was 10st 3lb at weigh day last week so will update tomorrow.
