Looks like our first thread is almost full so thought I'd start a new one and link it.
The one where we head into the summer feeling lighter and hopefully on the right path x

My weight has fluctuated this week, I'm up a lb from last weekend, which is within my maintenance range, but I am finding it tricky to feel ok about this. It's really difficult to shift my mindset from wanting to see a loss on the scale. I miss the boost the losses were giving me, and I feel a bit flat really. I think this maintenance malarkey will take some getting used to. Part of me wonders whether I should lower my target and lose a bit more of a buffer before I taper off the jabs, but that would involve going up to 7.5 I think, as I am not feeling much effect from 5 ( less than I was from 3.75 strangely - although that could be the appetite increase from quitting nicotine).
I think will carry on with 5 this week and see how things go. Hoping to be able to do a bit more exercise now the holidays are over, and it's harvest time at work at the moment, so lots of heavy physical work which is probably very good for me!

Scrabsqueak · 05/09/2026 10:07

2 stone down since April. Still on 5mg seems to be working ok, slow and fairly steady. If I lose about 4 more lbs I will no longer be classed as overweight! That is so motivating for me, especially as I was obese in April.
I am a bit sad that I don’t enjoy food so much any more, but that was why I was in the position I was and I daresay that will return. As I’ve gone on my appetite has changed and I can eat more so hoping the enjoyment will return soon.
I also wish I didn’t have heartburn so often! However, the weight loss makes up for these minor annoyances.
I hope the journey continues to show success for us all and that people with gastric issues find relief.

custardlover · 05/09/2026 15:45

I stayed the same this week, it’s all realllly slowing down. I don’t want to go up from 5 as I have a whole unused pen ready to start but we’ll see. I was also on a plane and had terrible sleep as away with work and I do think that always messes with water retention and weight.

NettleTea · 05/09/2026 16:55

Ive just had a very unhealthy day so am expecting that the scales will not be kind to me tomorrow

MrsPepperpotty · 05/09/2026 20:19

Oh no @mounjaroatlast - hope you are ok.

NettleTea · 06/09/2026 10:46

well that is a surprise. had a few days where I went over my target calories, including yesterday where I went to a one day a week open bakery and bought a slab of fresh foccacia for breakfast and a huge cinnamon bun for lunch, and I still have had a 0.5kg drop today. Im now at 75.6kg which is a loss of 18.6 kg in 19 weeks on 2.5mg
I have my annual meeting / check up/ measurement lymphodema clinic tomorrow so it will be interesting to see if there is a noticable improvement from when he saw me in April, as it was that meeting which kickstarted this journey and helped me make the decision.
Ironically my lower legs, where the lymph issue is, are very well managed and they were the only bit of me that looked a normal size. I was a bit like a potato on matchsticks

ElvisandAngel · 06/09/2026 10:54

I have now lost 2.5 stone (35lbs) since the 29th April. I am now a comfortable size 18 again (I am 5 foot 9). I have not been this weight since 2017 when I started to gain premenopausal weight. Before I lost the 2.5 stone I was a clothing size 20.

It is definitely slow and steady. I have another 1.5 stone to lose before I will be at a weight which I look and feel comfortable with. This will not mean that I am really slim but a clothing size 16, which on me looks like I am an average weight, not really slim and not overweight. I am concerned that if I go below this my face will look haggard and old because I am over 50 and I still want to have some curves because they are part of me.

It is still quite hard going because my body does not naturally want to lose weight at all and it feels like a battle, I am still on 5mg and I do not really want to go above this because of the cost and because I think I will have to be on a small dose forever to keep the weight off once I am at my desired weight.

I think it may take me another 5 months to lose the next 1.5 stone. Some weeks I think the weight loss has stopped completely because my weight seems to bounce around a bit. I just have to have faith and resilience that it is working in the long term and not get put off when I get on the scales and they say I have put 2lbs on and then on another day they say I have lost 3.

I’m going home this afternoon , thankfully I’m feeling much better now .

I had a 1cm stone trying to get out a tiny tube.

it must have moved because I’m feeling so much better now.

on the plus side I’m now on the urgent surgery list so should have it out in 6-8 weeks.

that is horrible but at least you are feeling a bit better. my daughter is plagued with these, its no fun so you have my sympathies

21 weeks and things slowed down a lot and complicated by several weeks in hospital recently and jabbed every 9 days a few times. I was doing well on 2.5 then 3.3 dose for 18 weeks, then increased to 3,5 for a few weeks, now on 4 without loss - but I know my recent medication causes weight gain so reviewing tomorrow with Dr and anticipate this settling once I can reduce that.

Total loss 19kg so nearly 3 stone since start and really very happy with this when I think about it! Can’t believe I was carrying the equivalent to a suitcase of clothes round with me before! I’ve just had a short holiday recovery break and note that I’m still eating less - either sharing dishes or not finishing full portions, not snacking between meals etc. I do need to up my protein though and will be looking at creating some nice but healthy meal plans for the next few weeks. I travel a lot and that can make it quite difficult with hotel food but I’m sure I can come up with some go to meals and look ahead at menus etc on their websites.

mounjaroatlast · 07/09/2026 13:17

Down to 117kg now, so 20kg loss in total, which is 3 stone.

I have to take a few days break and not jab today, as not had a poo since Friday, so nurse said to wait until have one, and make sure that stomach pain has gone, and then jab. They are happy for me to continue as it wasn't infected and wasn't pancreatitis.

They have given me a date of 22 October. Downside is that before the op I have to do 2 weeks on slimfast, 4 drinks a day, as a liver reducing op, but I should be allowed to stay on the MJ while I do it which will help. 800 cals a day .

MyGardenDaisies · 07/09/2026 14:17

Hello!

Just took second dose of 7.5mg. Feeling good, didn’t get a chance to weigh myself this morning but hope to see a new lower this week.

Had a non scale victory as I’m now in M&S size 16 tops and 20 jeans, whereas I was in 24-26 bottoms and 22 tops at my heaviest. Feels so good to get rid of all the bigger clothes and been really enjoying charity shops whilst I’m moving between sizes

Isabelle70 · 08/09/2026 17:48

Check in with the nurse today, and she has increased me to 5mg now. I was happy on the 2.5 as the lost was slow and steady but she says I have plateaued. I am hoping I don’t have any side effects as to date I haven’t. I think I will, count the clicks and do my next dose at 3.75.

I agree, give it a few days. Flying always seems to make me gain weight and be bloated all over and then it comes off over the next few days post flight.

Scrabsqueak · 10/09/2026 08:07

Well, under 10 stone for the first time in a long time. If I lose a couple more pounds, that’s it, I’m within the normal range! Slow and maybe a little unsteady, but getting there. So very, very happy and getting ready to think about clothes shopping! (Just in time for winter baggy clothes😂😂)
I agree about the flying, takes a few days for your weight to settle down after.

NorthDevonBeachLover · 10/09/2026 11:11

I've pretty much stayed the same for the last 6 weeks, on 5mg so thinking I need to bite the bullet and go up to 7.5mg for this last half stone.
Has anyone tried the Huel complete meal drinks? Good or not?

thinkofsomethingdifferent · 10/09/2026 12:03

I’m really struggling after having a break for my holidays and gaining half a stone. I went back down to the 2.5 so not to shock my system, but it’s having zero effect. I’m wondering if it’s mind over matter though, as I’m not hungry as such, but constantly eating - maybe because that’s what I’ve been used to on holiday? Im not sure, but I jabbed Monday and everyday I’ve been over my calories by 2/300. I won’t go up to the 5 until this pen is done, but it’s an interesting time.

pomegranatepie · 12/09/2026 11:30

Checking in, and hoping everyone is doing ok.
I have gained another pound this week, still within my maintenance range, but I am nervous that it is slowly creeping upwards. It's week 4 of no vaping however, and my food noise is definitely amplified despite having increased my dose to 5mg. I am noticing that I am idly snacking again, not hungry but feeling compelled to eat, which is 100% related to stopping vaping. I think it's likely that without the jab I would be gaining a huge amount more than a mere pound in a week though, so maybe I just need to ride this out and try and be more mindful.

I have signed up to do the BHF strong woman challenge in October, which is daily strength training exercises for beginners, it looks good.

I also seem to have replaced my nicotine addiction with Vinted, and have been really enjoying updating my wardrobe and wearing things I wouldn't have dreamed of wearing before losing weight - it's a joy to wear beautiful things and interesting silhouettes, rather than trying to make myself smaller with clothes. Lots of compliments, which is nice but I am struggling to know how to respond, and notice myself being self -deprecating as a knee jerk reaction, I am going to try and be more gracious at taking them!

Thesehills · 12/09/2026 18:32

Checking in here too.

Still the same weight I was two / three weeks ago. I've not jabbed for a couple of weeks and am feeling the reality of life without MJ.

Honestly, I'm doing ok. I've a pen in the fridge should I need it but I feel quite happy with the slowly does it approach.

Keep going everyone, it's lovely to read the posts. We all have the same ups and downs don't we. 😊

NettleTea · 12/09/2026 22:39

oh @pomegranatepie I looked at that strong woman thing but it looked as if you had to fundraise and I am really not keen on anyone judging my progress in a way like than so I stopped the application at that point. I just want to do these things quietly on my own. I feel like I need to start doing some sort of strengthening stuff as Ive noticed that Im getting a bit loose and wobbly where weight is coming off

I thought that originally too, and feel exactly the same! But the fundraising is optional, I signed up and have access to all the videos already. I think I will make a donation anyway, but it's not necessary to access the exercise plan. There are three levels for each day, beginner, intermediary and advanced with warm ups and warm downs- it looks really good.

NettleTea · 13/09/2026 10:55

ooh I will take another look then. I dont want my progress or lack of it to be published to everyone I know!

weigh in today Im at 75kg, which is 11stone 11lbs and a 3 stone loss from my starting point

I was wondering about moving up a little from the 2.5 but the weight is coming off and slowly. And as Im here for the anti inflammatory bit, and for the long term I thought I need to be able to manage and deal with a little of the food noise, as maintanance is going to be low dose, so Im going to need to learn to change some habits.

This week I have had a couple of times of fridge searching, although to be fair its a t times when I was actually supposed to be looking for lunch.

custardlover · 14/09/2026 09:08

It’s so interesting how we really are all in the same place or very close! I have lost the grant total of half a pound over the past week, really not meaningful when you allow for the regular ups and downs of a digestive system! I have also been feeling very sick over the weekend - nauseous. I have had small portions of rich food with my family on nights out and I think that’s it. Miserable though! At least the turning weather means I can start planning soups and stews and healthy but warming food with beans and cabbage and potatoes! I do love autumnal bowl food.

thinkofsomethingdifferent · 14/09/2026 10:51

Hi everyone. I’ve bit the bullet this morning and gone straight up to the 5mg after a week on the 2.5. I just can’t stop eating after being on holiday! I don’t want to undo all what I’ve lost so thought this was the best option. Last time I went up to 5 it hit me like a train so I’m not looking forward to it, I’ll be honest - but needs must!

MyGardenDaisies · 14/09/2026 13:48

Hey!

I’ve just ordered anew 7.5mg pen and feel a bit disgusted by how pricey it is.

haven’t had chance to weigh myself much past few weeks but hope to on Monday to see how much I’ve lost in 21 weeks total.

I’ve been struggling with sleep and not drinking enough, so feeling a bit bloated.

It’s now been 1 year on my weight loss and I’m at 31+kg loss. I feel a bit tired of being in weight loss mode 😴 but still got 19-23kg to go

just wish it was cheaper. I do wonder could I do it myself now that I’m at BMI 37, I’ve lost
