I officially started in April but right at the end. Have had two jabs and honestly no side effects or any changes to appetite…

ComeTheFcukOnBridget · 07/05/2026 20:03

I started 1st May. 2nd jab tomorrow. Zero side effects or suppression yet but I know its a starter dose. Interested to see if jab 2 will change anything.

MrsKurz · 07/05/2026 20:35

Just done my first jab!

Well done! You got the show on the road!

Hi pls can I ask what made you go with Wegovy over Mounjaro?

Was it more based on pricing or results / side effects?

Thinking of giving WG a try, but want to give myself best chance of loss in the next 6 months for a big event - using that as motivation to finally do this.

200lbs / 90kg at 5”5 height and even top range of my healthy weight is around 145lb/65 kg so lots more to lose than I thought and want to make it as easy as possible. Have already made changes to diet and exercise and will be continuing with that.

Thanks for any replies and feedback.

TipsyLaird · 07/05/2026 23:26

For me, few reasons. Cost yes, but I am only really looking to lose 10-15 kg at the most so the slightly better performance on mounjaro isn’t really a factor. Also I read fewer side effects.

Thanks @TipsyLaird - all the best with your losses.
I’ve got a lot more to lose than you so looking for the best one for me x

A friend has lost around 5st on Wegovey and stayed on 2.5 the whole time with very few side effects.

I thought I’d try Wegovy first as it’s cheaper. I have one friend for whom the side effects on mounjaro were worse and another for whom it was the other way round - I wonder really whether you are just more likely to get bad side effects on the first one you try, as it’s a shock to the body?

How do we know what our maintenance dose will be? Do we have some kind of consultation later on when it gets agreed?

Nos4r2 · 08/05/2026 07:49

Hi Im on Wegovy for 2 and a half months and have lost 26lb, I'm also doing WW.
Im on 0.5 at the moment and might stay on that for the time being as I haven't felt hungry and have to remind myself to eat.
My husband pays half towards the price so its not too bad for me pricewise and I have a years subscription to WW which works out at £7 a month.
I've still got a way to go to reach my goal weight which is another 4 and a half stone. Hope it works for you..

MrsKurz · 08/05/2026 10:09

So it’s been about 14 hours since my first 0.25 shot and I don’t feel anything good or bad haha. I mean I’m not mad I don’t have any side effects (yet), but I was definitely hoping to feel some hunger suppression. Guess I need to be patient and accept it might come at a higher dose.

is this normal? I guess like many of us I’m just at the point of I need this to work

Learningdutch · 08/05/2026 11:14

I'm on day 4 and no suppression, no nausea today, so far. No weight loss.

Did you have nausea on previous days?

TipsyLaird · 08/05/2026 13:05

I've had no nausea or headaches. Initial heartburn/burping but that appears to have calmed down now. I am trying not to weigh every day as I know that weight can fluctuate.

OP posts:
MrsKurz · 08/05/2026 14:49

Yeah I’ve had nothing so far. Hopefully it’ll pick up when we go up to the 0.5mg. Google suggests no effect at 0.25 weeks 1-4 is quite normal

Learningdutch · 08/05/2026 15:15

MrsKurz · 08/05/2026 12:03

I had slight nausea on day 2 & 3 but I'm not sure if it was just because I was expecting it! I'm eating more or less normally but have cut down alcohol and snacks. Its early days.

MrsKurz · 08/05/2026 15:21

It is, I need to be patient 😂 just trying to make good choices today and these first days even if I’m not feeling any effect yet

MrsKurz · 08/05/2026 18:34

Now it’s been almost 24 hours, I can’t tell if I feel a liiiiiiiittle bit nauseous, or it’s just that feeling when you haven’t eaten/drunk enough. I still feel like I COULD eat a normal main meal though so not sure I’ve got any appetite surpression. Just trying to focus on protein and veggies as a priority. Fingers crossed if I’m getting some side effects it means it IS working 🤞

MrsKurz · 09/05/2026 17:52

How’s everyone going? I’m almost 48 hours post first jab and still haven’t felt much. Maybe a tiny bit less hungry, but still hungry so definitely no huge appetite suppression. But also not really any side effects, felt mildly nauseous a couple of times today but not really anything

TipsyLaird · 09/05/2026 18:04

Not feeling much appetite suppression here either.

OP posts:
Learningdutch · 09/05/2026 18:06

Nor me, day 5 but I have lost 1lb!

aaahshoot · 09/05/2026 18:14

Day 4 and no appetite suppression at all, or side effects.

Ibwah · 09/05/2026 18:59

i have had two jabs and no appetite suppression here either

MrsKurz · 09/05/2026 20:15

Ok good to know we’re not alone. I’ve definitely read online that this 0.25 dose is really just a starter to not give your body a shot, and it’s not a therapeutic dose for most people, so I’m holding onto that.

NinthBestOption · 09/05/2026 20:29

0.25 is just to get your body used to it, you won't hit the verified therapeutic doses until 4th pen. BUT it has a half life of 7 days so it builds up in your system, even if you stay on the starter dose it won't hit its peak until about 6 weeks.

I'm on week 3, felt nothing until near the end of week 2 when I realised I was really hungry so there must have been a bit of suppression. I am finding it just enough to be able to diet with willpower, I want to stay in this zone if possible so won't increase dose unless I stop losing weight.
