We won’t make it to Christmas without a new board.

Well done to everyone for getting this far and thank you for your company.

Here’s to a healthy and happy 2026.

Despite being on a break from Mounjaro due to surgery last week, I will keep posting and reading as I’m still undecided when to restart. Mounjaro does not seem to suit me, excessive diarrhea after every jab for three months, so I might look at a different drug. I’m managing not to over eat for now using will power and not buying the “ treats” I used to enjoy! I lost quite a lot before starting Mounjaro so I know how to eat healthily in small portions so I’m hoping to continue losing weight while I recover from my knee replacement surgery.

Oh do stay with us so we know how you’re getting on.

Just checking in for the new thread. And yes, one of my new year tasks is actually buying new trousers!!

I think I finally need to accept that skinny jeans are uncool and find a new style of jeans but I’ve been buying exactly the same M&S skinny ones for ten years on repeat so I’m dreading this one.

Funnily enough, I have decided I'm going to embrace a new jeans style next year, once I can fit into size 14s and need new jeans. I have been wearing the same Next skinny jeans for years. I was in a size 20 in September. They were slightly on the big side in me, but 18s were far too tight so I had to reluctantly accept I needed to buy size 20s. I was able to move back down to my 18s in October and have just purchased some size 16s as the 18s were looking silly and baggy. I have not worn size 16s in about 10 years. But decided when the day comes to buy size 14s I might try wide leg style instead. I'm sadly quite excited about a new jeans style 😂

Checking in to new thread.
I’ve been in bed the last 4 days with this nasty flu bug, it wiped me out.
Feeling much better today but it’s left me with zero appetite which on top of MJ isn’t a great combo!

Pinkbox · 21/12/2025 22:07

I bought some expensive (for me) wide leg jeans in April after decades of skinnies and they are now falling down and look awful. I also need a new coat, which is something I only fork out for once in a blue moon. I won’t be braving the immediate sales but will have to have a mosey around town early January!

Pinkbox · 21/12/2025 22:10

Also, I am finding I get really nauseous (like should I go and hang around the bathroom? nauseous) after every meal on 5mg so maybe I need to cut it down slightly. 3.75 didn’t seem to be giving much suppression though. This is my third week of 5mg.

Bigbus · 22/12/2025 07:50

Hi @Pinkbox i also get really horrible nausea for a few days after each injection but I’ve never actually been sick. I find Rennies can help. What I did was stick to the same dose for a few months, and found by the second month it was much better. The problem is that the weight loss gets a bit less too so then I end up going up and having another month of the nausea. I’ve lost 2 and a half stone so I’m sticking with it though. I think I’ll try 3 months on 7.5 but if weight loss disappears I’ll have to go up to 10.

I had a week on 5mg at the very end of November which was similar to what you describe - so I cut back to 4mg (up from 3.75mg) and that’s been good for a few weeks. I might try 5 again in the new year. But I really hate that very strong suppression!

I tried a pair of wide legs in the summer but it when I was at my biggest and there just seemed to be so much material!! So I decided to come back to it when I’d lost some weight. I wore wide legs so much as a teenager though (back when they were trendy) and I just still feel a bit weird about wearing them again in my 40s. So I might try carrot or barrel leg ones rather than full on wide leg. No idea about sizing though - my m and s skinnies I had in size 14 and size 16 but they were pretty stretchy and got very stretched as I’ve got bigger so I’m sure were more like an 18 or more!! I’m still in the (very stretched) size 14s now but they are looking like old fashioned jodhpurs on me which is not a good look. But I doubt I’m quite ready for normal unstretched/ un-stretchy size 14 jeans, though maybe. Dreading having to actually go into a shop to try some on but I suppose it’ll be less painful for the weight loss…

outofofficeagain · 22/12/2025 08:44

I find trousers hardest to size and they vary massively between brands and styles.

i was an 18 in Seasalt and FatFace trousers and am now a 16 which is great.

i had a pair of size 18 smart trousers from Boden which now only just do up. I have a pair of size 16 on Hobbs (both Vinted so couldn’t try on) which are nowhere near fitting.

Pinkbox · 22/12/2025 11:32

I’m definitely gonna have to go into some shops because the sizing is all over the place as we know. I am packing to go to family for Christmas and have realised that everything is a bit saggy and I don’t actually have anything nice to wear for the next few days 🤦‍♀️ I haven’t wanted to buy too much in the interim.

Pinkbox · 22/12/2025 11:34

Thanks @Bigbus and @OneDayIWillLearn I am considering doing 4mg this week. That will leave me with an unknown quantity in the pen (have used 3.75,5,5,5 so far) but presumably not enough to risk keeping.

Sleetingnow · 22/12/2025 21:42

Checking in. Have also just been packing for seeing family for Christmas and realised I have very few trousers that fit properly, I have been mostly living in leggings and a pair of jeans I emergency got off vinted last month, but dunno what I'm going to wear for the next 10 days 😂

Somethingsnapped · 23/12/2025 12:25

Hi everyone, merry Christmas!

Just checking in. I haven't posted for a while, but I'm still reading all the other posts! You're all doing so well. How nice is it to have Christmas approaching, knowing how much we've achieved?? I had a Christmas family meet-up a few days ago with people I haven't seen for ages, and had so many compliments, and loved the feeling of enjoying wearing my outfit etc. The attention was slightly overwhelming actually, but I was happy to know my weight loss is noticeable!

I'm on jab 19. Started end of August really, but others on that thread are quite far ahead of me, so I like being on this thread too). I'm still on 2.5 of MJ. I do get very hungry and could definitely eat more than I could at the start, but I'm being careful, and I'm not getting cravings particularly, so while it's still working, I'm happy to stay on this dose. I'll consider moving up if I plateau for a long time. I don't mind slow and steady loss, as long as the scales are still moving a bit! And managing the hunger and portion control puts me in good stead for coming off eventually, which I do plan to do.

SW: 15 st, 11 lbs.
CW: 13 st, 6 lbs.
GW: not totally sure, but about 12 st (I'm tall).

I've lost about a pound a week for the last few weeks, which I'm fine with. I started out at about a size 14/16 on top, and a 16/18 on the bottom. I'm currently about a 12/14 on top, and a 14 on the bottom.

Again, congratulations everyone! Keep it up. And have a wonderful Christmas!

Chopsy123 · 23/12/2025 20:04

Just checking in. 👋

I decided to weigh myself today and had dropped to 12st 8.5lbs so down from 12st 10.5lbs on Saturday.

No doubt it will bob up a bit over the next week but at least I’m close to the goal I set myself for Christmas of 12st 7lbs. 🥳

I’m not seeing any extended family over Christmas but will FaceTime some people. They say that the camera adds pounds, so not sure that anyone will notice my weight loss via the video camera. 😂

SoUncertain · 24/12/2025 09:22

Happy Christmas everyone! This week I have stayed the same, but that's ok. Better than piling on the pounds, and we have had several meals out again.

I'm also finding the suppression to be very strong on 5mg, and this is my fourth week on it. Definitely not moving up yet! I struggle to eat meals at the start of the week, but it wears off enough to eat more normally towards the end of the week. Obviously topped up with some Christmas calories this week as didn't lose, but that made me feel pretty queasy at times. Need to make sure I'm only having tiny bits of junk because it's not worth feeling rough over.

Have a lovely Christmas/holiday season!

OneDayIWillLearn · 24/12/2025 09:34

I forgot to take my pen with me when we were away/ with family this last weekend so ended up only jabbing when we were back home yesterday which meant 9 day gap since my last jab.

It was an interesting experience! I could noticeably eat more than I was used to on Sunday and on Monday I spent the whole evening (after dinner) thinking about whether to get myself a plate of cheese and crackers or open some chocolates. This is absolutely classic for me but has been a thing of the past since starting on MJ! I managed to avoid doing anything too awful and just read my book and slowly drank a glass of wine but it was a useful reminder of what torture food noise can be.

Jabbed yesterday with great delight! Did 3.75kg though as jabbing closer to Xmas day than I planned and have a rather lovely looking steak to eat for my Xmas dinner which I want to be able to have a good shot at enjoying!!

Itisallgoingtobeok · 24/12/2025 13:04

Hi all, I haven't posted in a long time, but have been lurking :)

I reached goal back in October, and have maintained since. 6stone gone. I feel fab! I am tapering down from 7.5mg. Currently on 5mg.

I am under a lot of stress at the moment, so this might be why, but I am getting hungry, but I sit down to eat and just can't face anything. A couple of bites and I'm done. Normally when I am stressed I eat everything in sight! I am starting to loose quite a lot again, and I don't want to. Mounjaro has never had that impact on me to date. Normally I can eat a small meal with no problems.

As for jeans I have discovered M&S slim flare magic jeans! I have hips and boobs, so they balance me out well. They do other cuts too :)

Merry Christmas!

Itisallgoingtobeok · 24/12/2025 13:12

Darn, I was on the Sept 24 start's thread... sorry!!!

JustPickleRick · 24/12/2025 14:36

Happy Christmas everyone! Hope you're all able to enjoy the day in some sort of way, i know i'm looking forward to my roast dinner tomorrow 😂😍🫶

Today, i'm celebrating getting into my second pair of size 10 jeans 🙌🥹 happy Christmas to me 😅 first pair were from River Island, this pair is from Miss Selfridge so I know it's not just a fluke 🥳

My next jab is on friday and then i'm off to visit family up north. They're going to get a shock when they see me 🫠 excited but also feeling nervous at all the questions that will come my way!

Well done! You are smashing it! Oh my god I can’t wait for my dinner tomorrow either! 😂

I hope you lap up the compliments, and when people ask how you have managed to lose weight, you can confidently tell them you have been calorie counting and exercising more.

I mean it’s the truth after all. Yes mounjaro helps reduce the cravings and removes the food noise, but we know it’s not a magic potion that melts fat like most people think it is.

YOU put in the hard work, so shout it from the rooftops, don’t be nervous! If your food tracking app/weight tracking app doesn’t mention Mounjaro then show them your progress. Let them see the endless days & weeks of calorie deficits, and the losses along the way.
