Just checking in - thanks for the new thread Flowers

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 17/10/2025 18:21

Posting here as I'm so behind reading up the other thread and need to go do that - but here's today's update!

I checked in this morning at 15stone!!! I am so close to that next stone bracket. I'm bmi 34 now too so bmi 30 is getting closer (just under 2 stone away!). I still can't quite belive it.

I'm sat in my car and there is a great big gap between me and the steering wheel. I remember in the first few months trying to work out at what point I'd definitely call it a gap as I lost as it would still gently scrape alongside at times.

These last few months have been a bit of a roller coaster emotionally! I have had some quite traumatic events at work and one of my children has had some serious issues too. BUT work wise I will now be f/t in one of my roles from half term and I am so very excited. I love this job. It's full on but for the first time in many years I'm valued at work and excited to see where it goes. I feel like my world is a complete world away from a year ago.

SilenceInside · 17/10/2025 21:06

Hey @FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden just wanted to say congratulations at hitting the 15 stone mark, BMI 34 is brilliant. A coincidence, today I was sitting in my car and noticed the large gap between me and the steering wheel with the seat as far forward as it will go. When I started on Mounjaro, I had to put the seat two clicks back and I still had my belly right up against the steering wheel. So many little NSVs along the way.

Being full time in a job you like and are valued at is just worth it's weight in gold. Especially after all the turbulent times. You deserve it.

I remember back in Nov/Dec last year, chatting to you on various threads about starting Mounjaro and it's just so fantastic that you are where you are now. So pleased for you!

caringcarer · 17/10/2025 21:26

Can I join the tread? I have been on Ozempic and it worked really well for about 18 months and I lost almost 4 stone but then inexplicably it stopped working and I just plateaued for 3 months. I'm now going to try to move over to Mounjaro to see if that will work for me. I'm ashamed to say I still weigh 130 kg. I. Hoping to go down to 99kg in one year. That is what the slider thing said I could lose on Mounjaro in 1 year. I would still be a lot overweight even then but I'd be a lot happier.

Well done @FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden !

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 17/10/2025 23:30

Thanks @SilenceInside ❤️❤️. It's been compeltly lifechanging. I so appreciated all your advice ❤️.

@Doggymummar Yes it's definitely not as awful now. I started in January so am 10months in but definitely really aware of it now - whereas the first few months I could sort of tell but it wasn't visible.

I went out this evening and didn't have to worry about sitting in a pew type seat against the table 😊

OvertiredandConfused · 17/10/2025 23:41

Another thread, fantastic.

I’m so close to a 6st loss now - just 1.5lbs to go. Moved up to 12.5mg on Sunday after 16 weeks at 10mg.

It’s been hard to eat this week. Yesterday and today I managed OMAD. One meal was 400 cal and the other was 500 cal. I’ve felt uncomfortably full after both. Other than that I’ve had one skinny latte and 2 L of water both days.

Hoping for a whoosh and to get past the 6st in the next few days although I’m not sure I’ll manage it for my official weigh in on Sunday.

I’ve got another 3st to get to what I think is my final goal but I’m going to play it a bit by ear, depending how hard it gets as I get a bit closer. I’d be very happy a little bit heavier but I also want to give myself a buffer for when I start to taper and, maybe, stop the jabs.

None of my clothes I was wearing last winter are wearable now. Fortunately, I had some really good work jackets that I had kept from about five years ago and I’m able to use those. Beyond that, I’ve had to buy a whole new wardrobe but I’ve tried really hard to limit the purchases. I’m even using an app to help me plan outfits and make sure I get the absolute most out of the clothes that I have.

Thanks for the new thread @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne
Another really lovely collection of successes this week - thanks for sharing all as it is great to read! Well done!
I’ve just gone into week 11 and am doing well so far. Long, long way to go, but reading about everyone’s successes and determination definitely helps x

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 18/10/2025 08:41

Morning all. Thankfully a loss for me this week after a tricky couple of weeks, at one point it was looking like a maintain so I am very happy. I have moved up to 3.75mg as of last night though (bonus dose from my last pen plus a tiny bit from the new pen to make it up to 3.75). I've woken up this morning so much less hungry than usual so I definitely think j it was time - probably should have moved up a few weeks ago in all honesty - I think the effects had worn off so gradually it took me a while to notice. Anyway, onwards and downwards now 😉, my plan is to use my remaining 2.5mg pen to give me 3 doses of 3.75mg then probably move up to 5mg.

SW 139.7kg
W1 -3.8
W2 -1.9
W3 -1.7
W4 -0.9
W5 -1.5
W6 no change
W7 -2.3
W8 -1.2
W9 -1.3
W10 -0.3
W11 -2.0
W12 -0.6
W13 +0.7
W14 -1.1 CW 121.8kg

Mum2Fergus · 18/10/2025 09:18

Wk34 weigh in this morning (wk2 on 7.5mgs) … have stayed the same, again! It’s only week 2 on 7.5mgs but I think I was expecting better suppression having moved up, or perhaps a bit too early to tell. To be fair, it was a rubbish week food wise as I’ve been without a kitchen for 5 days…but hey, let’s see what this week holds!

I’ve lost 23% of my starting weight and averaging 1.9lbs loss per week over the 34 weeks.

SW (15 Feb 25): 19st 9lbs / BMI 44.4 (obese class 3)
CW: 15st 1lb / BMI 34.1 (obese class 1)
GW: healthy BMI (between 18.5 and 24.9 (8.3st-11st) for my height) - 4st 1lb to go to get to top of healthy range.

Wks 1-4 (2.5mg): -17lbs
Wks 5-8 (2.5mg): -6lbs
Wks 9-12 (2.5mg): -11lbs
Wks 13-16 (5mg): -7lbs
Wks 17-20 (5mg): -4lbs
Wks 21-24 (5mg): -7lbs
Wks 25-28 (5mg): -7lbs
Wks 29-32 (5mg): -4lbs
Wk33 (7.5mg): -1lb
Wk34 (7.5mg): -0lb

Total loss: 64lbs

Checking in for the new thread, thanks so much @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne

Slight change to my username for this thread just in an attempt to separate my history a bit.

Long story short, I’ve ended up in hospital after a mental health crisis. I’ve been here before and have a fantastic team here but I’m still pretty devastated to be back. Also worried about my food and exercise. I’m hoping just for 30 days.

Also I’m taking 2.5 out of a 5 pen which they’re not going to let me do so I need to order a 2.5. Which is fine just wasteful of the pen I brought here.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 18/10/2025 09:42

Hello @PearlTeapot I'm so sorry you've ended up in hospital again.

Week 31 and 3lb off this week bringing me to a tantalisingly close to 6st off- 5st 13!!

Have just taken my 5th dose from my 10mg pen and took 7.5ml which by my reckoning is a 12.5mg dose. I've then got one 10mg pen left in the fridge which I'll use for 4 x 12.5mg doses.

Next mini targets (we'll take it as a given I'll get to the 6st loss so won't include that)

  1. To reach 100lb loss by Christmas
  2. To lose 36lb more to get under 40 BMI

@PearlTeapot just wanted to wish you well and hope that your hospital stay is as short as it can be.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 18/10/2025 12:28

@PearlTeapot hugs from here. I know that world a little - really hope things improve for you x

Lovinglifeand · 18/10/2025 12:34

It has just occurred to me that it would be cheaper to buy a 5mg pen and do 10 half doses (two golden doses) than keep buying a 2.5mg pen. Is that what others are doing? Does a pen have only a certain amount of times you can use it?
