We're all getting there.
Even if it's very slow now.

Welcome back to the thread regulars and hello to anyone who would like to join us.

I'm going to the theatre tonight - haven't been for ages and ages so I'm looking forward to hopefully finding out the seats are significantly more roomy than they used to be!

I found that they had, when I went to the Haydn Nelson Mass in June.

I’m feeling really frustrated at the moment, I’ve stayed the same for 3 weeks, I’m a very slow loser anyway with 1lb a week, I log all my calories but I’ve definitely stopped drinking as much water so I need to up that again. My next pen is a 10mg, it’s taken me 6months to lose just over 2stone and BMI still 41.8 down from 47.8 and I’ve put my diabetes in remission down to 36 which is normal but the weight is sticking and can’t help but thinking I’m doing something wrong when I see so many huge loses in the same time frame. I just need to give my head a wobble, I’m going back into hospital next week for another biopsy as the last one 3 months ago didn’t look favourably and will need to delay my jab for a few days before general anaesthetic. Just feeling a bit pants today!

TragicMuse · 23/10/2025 12:32

I’m so sorry that some of our gang are having difficult times. I totally get it, and hope you all are out of the doldrums soon.

I jabbed my 10mg last night, feel a bit queasy today. I’ve just had some sugar snap peas and feel really quite vommy now. Which is irritating.

BUT! I am comforting myself with fitting into long boots. They’re old Duo ones I’ve had for years so they are wider calf, but they fit again and do up easily. That’s my NSV for today and I am here for it!

Wellfuckme · 23/10/2025 12:45

Im new here but I wanted to ask if anyone is suffering from lose skin? Im losing 2lb a week, SW was 18st 8lb now down to 17st 5lb and am 52yrs so my age is probably against me. Is there anything I can do to help as I think I now look worse than I did at the start.

SilenceInside · 23/10/2025 13:06

@Wellfuckme I think that loose skin is something that is fairly uncontrollable tbh. It's mostly down to age and genetics.

I have lost just over 10 stone so far (22st down to 11st 9lbs) and I realised early on that some loose skin would be inevitable given my age (a little bit younger than you) and the amount of weight I need to lose. I have some crepey-ness looseness on my inner thighs, I have some under arm looseness and my stomach has an overhang. The only area which surprised me was the inner thighs. My stomach was huge and round before, and I've had two c sections and two large babies, so I think it would have been unrealistic to expect it to just shrink. But I don't look anything like the kinds of loose skin you see on social media posts where people are trying to raise money for surgery, and with clothes on you can't tell at all.

I am going to let it all settle down over at least a year, and see how I end up looking once my weight has stabilised at my goal weight for a decent period of time. Then if I'm still bothered by any of it, I might look into surgery.

Overall, I look much better than I did before, and I am massively healthier and fitter which I enjoy every single day.

Yes, a bit.
I'm 69 though so it was bound to happen.

I will say that it's not as bad as it was. My body seems to be gradually getting used to the loss. So the weirdness is getting better.

Very similar to @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne and I am in my early 60s. I have used moisturiser every single day (sometimes twice) though not sure if that actually makes a difference.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 23/10/2025 14:01

I’m the same @Wellfuckme, I’m 58 and it’s inevitable, I’ve never been slim and have lost over 7 1/2 stone on Mounjaro and almost 9st in total.
I also moisturise morning and evening with the Nivea q10 firming stuff, if anything I have lovely soft skin! I’m wrinkly on my inner thighs, upper arms and stomach but it can all be hidden. I’ve read a few times that it can take a year or more for your skin to settle once you’re at a stable weight but I don’t think I look worse than before and I feel a millions times better.
my neck/chin area was looking bad at one point but that’s definitely righting itself now.
I’ve said before that I don’t need to learn to love the loose skin, just not to hate it.

Fffreeeeezing · 23/10/2025 14:14

@Reginaphalangeeeee I am having very similar issues to you (except my belly button is fine!) I am getting rashes left right and centre, some days it feels like whack-a-mole, I just fix one and another pops up 🙄 I think it's called intertrigo, I get it under my stomach, boobs, groin and behind my left knee. And randomly yesterday a patch under each armpit. It itches and hurts and doesn't seem to respond to over the counter antifungals. My GP prescribed me Trimovate cream and 1, sometimes 2 applications of that sends it packing. Also keeping it all clean and dry and sudacrem seems to work well as well.
My blood sugars are fine, I think it's hormonal as it seems worse for one week a month (I'm assuming on my period week, if I were getting them, I'm not, that's a separate problem!)
I didn't have such problems with this when I was 6st heavier 😡

Wellfuckme · 23/10/2025 16:56

Thank you, I don't mind the bingo wings or tummy overhang but was just really looking forward to wearing skirts or dresses as I haven't worn them in the last 20yrs. My legs / thighs are just awful but as you've all said it might just need more time.

MummyInTheNecropolis · 23/10/2025 17:18

Similar to others, I have loose skin on my inner thighs, upper arms and stomach but it’s not as bad as I expected to be honest, and I have lost 11 stone in quite a short amount of time. I moisturise daily with firming cream and take collagen but no idea if they actually do anything! It’s also definitely improved over time, it looked much worse when I’d only lost the first few stone.

mamabeeboo · 23/10/2025 18:45

@52soon I completely understand. A few weeks ago I stopped losing weight at 112kg. 🙄 I was very frustrated trying my best. This was also around the time of the price rises and felt like money was being wasted. Anyway a few weeks later I'm now 105kg. I pushed through and the advice here was very helpful.

Have you tried OMAD? Or fasting (as long as you can?) I started with having brunch around 11am and slowly pushed back my eating window by an hour every few days. Now I can comfortably eat my first meal at 3pm. Fasting /OMAD forces your body to use its fat stores and the scales can't help but shift. If you can't, do what you can do. The scales will move. ☺️

Everdecreasingcircle · 23/10/2025 19:05

Fabulous weight losses by so many here. It’s so great that we can help each other on this tricky journey. Congratulations @MummyInTheNecropolis @Autumnflowers2 @GnomeDePlume @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne and @OvertiredandConfused . The losses blow my mind.
I’m starting to panic about maintenance looming as losing 10stone I feel like my body is programmed to yoyo as I have been that person so long. I feel so scared to go back to the person I was before and hope to maintain on MJ. Do others feel the same. It just sometimes feels too good to be true and I will wake up one morning back to where I started. It feels a bit overwhelming. Do you guys feel the same ?

Doggymummar · 23/10/2025 21:03

@Everdecreasingcircle I think I've lost over ten stone too. And I've maintained for the best part of this year on15mg. I'm now going down the doses and I'm on about 9mg so I don't think I will rebound. Not got to my goal wright yet. But I feel I need to reset as not losing for six months is a nightmare , but not raining either is a dream come true.

52soon · 23/10/2025 22:24

Thanks @mamabeeboo I only work 3 days a week and don’t eat until 1pm on those days and don’t find it a struggle, the other days I eat at 11 ish and then have tea around 6pm so am on 2 meals a day. Sadly I’ve completely gone off Greek yogurt and Kiwis which has been my go to breakfast for the last 6 months and stand looking into the fridge and don’t fancy anything so have been having mini weetabix fruit&nut which doesn’t have hardly any protein but helps in the fibre department (if you know, you know)! I need to shake up my meals I think.

mamabeeboo · 23/10/2025 23:13

@52soon instead of eating at 1pm, can you go to 2pm or 3pm?
On your non working days can you eat at midday (or later) and dinner at 5pm? If you try shortening your eating window, and subsequently eating less since there's a smaller time between meals. Nothing but water for the rest of the time, the scales should shift. 🙏
It's about trying to get out of the slump and maintaining that motivation.

PearlTeapot · 24/10/2025 02:52

I can happily not eat til lunchtime or later but I can’t do without milk in my coffee to wake me up (with sweetener) so it doesn’t count as fasting for me.

Neither can I.
I don't count tea.
I suppose you're meant to, but I've never been able to.

The thing to look at is the shape of clothes and also the fabric they are made from. Stretch fabrics are not your friend. They tend to cling in all sorts of unflattering ways.

A dress with a fitted bodice and A line skirt in a rigid fabric may be just the thing for you. The rigid fabric means that it skims rather than clings. A sheath dress in a rigid fabric is another option.

Doggymummar · 24/10/2025 07:54

I consider myself as OMAD but I have two coffees before eating. I don't enforce rigid rules on myself.. when I say I follow fast 800 I don't really I just stick to those calories.ine might come from steamed fish amd veg one day and mars bar and packet of crisps another day.

MummyInTheNecropolis · 24/10/2025 08:37

Weigh in day for me, and another decent loss means I’ve now lost 11st 7lbs. Just a stone and a half to go until I reach target, at this rate I might be there by Christmas. Exciting times!

I'm going to the theatre tonight - haven't been for ages and ages so I'm looking forward to hopefully finding out the seats are significantly more roomy than they used to be!

Delighted to report that the theatre seats definitely felt more comfortable (although still not actually particularly comfortable, but I think that’s just the nature of the seats in that theatre!)

We went for a curry before the play - it was “small plates” so I ordered two and some rice as advised by the waitress. Way too much food - I didn’t finish it but ate more than I should have and ended up suffering all night with agonising trapped wind (delightful). I really need to remember when I’m eating out now not to over order!

TragicMuse · 24/10/2025 08:49

NSV for me!

I’m wearing some very old Seasalt trousers. They’re marked as a 16 but they fit Although I’m mostly an 18 at the moment. These are one thing I’ve been longing to get back in to. They’re a gorgeous dark inky blue and I love them.

I feel very pleased today!

Amazing! So nice to fit back into clothes you thought were lost to you forever.
