Hello, just posting so that I’m on the new thread!
Well done everybody on your weight loss and NSV…I’m loving the idea of a bubble bath, sadly mine has been broken for years!
Thinking of you @PearlTeapotthat sounds really really tough but you’ll get there and come out the other side. Take care!

eibbed999 · 21/10/2025 07:12

I feel your pain @ConfusedMiddleAger83 - my main fear about the bath was getting stuck and needing one of the kids to pull me out! I'd been practicing crouching down and getting up for days! Does your ankle play up in cold weather? Mine has been quite unpredictable recently after a few months of almost normal!

Iwouldratherbesinging · 21/10/2025 07:41

Ooooh, I disappeared for a few days and thought I’d lost you all!! 😱 found you 🥰. Coffee and catch up….

oh @PearlTeapot, be kind to yourself lovely, my youngest has been through similar, it’s hard I know. We’re all rooting for you and are here if you need us - sending hugs.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 21/10/2025 07:55

Weigh day for me and 1.6lbs off which puts me at… drum roll… 11st 8lbs (162lbs or 73.4 kgs), on paper that’s bloody amazing and I feel overwhelmed sometimes when I read it, but it still doesn’t register in my brain, I feel like it belongs to someone else and I’m on the outside looking in.

Monday is my ‘fast day’, I have one evening meal under 500 cals. I prepped a lamb tagine in the slow cooker yesterday morning and realised I hadn’t switched the bloody thing on at about 4:30 (after work) so ended up with beans on toast! Have a nice dinner prepped for tonight though, silver linings ☺️

I think I’m behind you time/recovery wise, I still feel the ankle almost all the time unfortunately, not noticed anything specific with the weather. I have a tightrope device and have been recommended to have it removed as irritation from the pins and also some scar tissue to remove but goodness knows how long the wait will be given the state of the NHS.

I have my next appointment to discuss in 3 months so am not even on the waiting list yet. Having said that, I can finally walk ‘normally’ and have been able to do some low impact exercise, it’s mostly going downstairs causing me issues and getting up and down off the floor. Although my weight is a big factor so hoping I’ll be in a much better place once I do get to the op than for the first one!

eibbed999 · 21/10/2025 08:31

Poor you @ConfusedMiddleAger83. It's a horrible condition to deal with. I still struggle with stairs and my last op was in Sep 24. I'm sure the weight loss is helping us.

I started a new shift pattern last month to increase my hours. With holiday and training I havent actually done it much. I worked 11.5hr day Friday, 11.5hr night Saturday and then 11.5hr day again yesterday. I've definitely not gone over 1400/1500 calories a day according to the scales this morning I've gained 7lb since Friday!!!! I'm hoping its just water retention from not drinking enough, hopefully I'll get it back off by Thursday but that seems crazy!!

It could also be the swapping between nights and days, I often find that messes with my metabolism/water retention etc. There is no way that you have gained 7lbs of fat in 4 days.

SilenceInside · 21/10/2025 13:28

I don't know if anyone does the Pick My Postcode free to enter postcode lottery online? You complete surveys to build your win bonus should your postcode be picked. Interestingly yesterday and today I was asked in the survey about weight loss injections. Yesterday it was whether I had taken them at all, and today it was how long for, was it on the NHS or not, the ongoing costs, how long I might take them for, and then some questions that were clearly about changing habits around eating and drinking out regularly. I wonder who has commissioned the survey! Clearly it's still a current hot topic.

That happened to me in August
I came back of holiday 5 pounds heavier
But I had said no to every single nice thing to eat ,and I had definitely not eaten anything more than usual..I was so upset because I'd been so strict with myself.
But I bearly drank anything because I was worried about constantly needing a wee out and about ..and I'm absolutely positive that's what caused it

Those of you who regularly suffer through Teams meetings will know the awfulness of having to stare at yourself on screen for hours on end. Today's torture however was mainly focused on my neck, not a body part I've really had any concerns with, until now! I've got this odd crinkly patch higher which I assume is sagging/loose skin and then a weird dent at the bottom. Once I noticed I couldn't stop seeing it!! Anyone got any tips for amazing neck cream in a bid to improve it?
I have no idea what just happened in that meeting because I was far too distracted y my neck 🫣

Oh I catch sight of my neck and wonder who else is noticing the crinkles!! Same for my upper arm!

I’ve been using the Trinny Elevator. It’s not cheap but I like it a lot…and it lasts pretty well.

SnowWhiteisMyFavourite · 21/10/2025 17:00

@Fffreeeeezing @TragicMuse I found myself staring at my wrinkly neck/chest a while ago (teams camera is very unforgiving 😄). I bought ThisWorks cleavage & neck serum. It smells and feels nice, I’m not sure about the results yet but I think my chest might look a bit better…other one that keeps popping up in adverts is BoostLab serum, I’m might try that next.

Huge disclaimer as I’m not medical, but are you sure that’s not a swollen gland/lymph node? I’m not someone to comment about medical stuff on MN but it can be a sign of simply being run down

For once I'm pretty sure I'm healthy!

Very recently (less than a fortnight ago I think) I had an enormous amount of blood tests done, all the standard stuff plus hormones, bones and vitamins and I'm all good apparently, only surprise that it showed was that I'm not menopausal like I thought I had been for years, apart from that though 🤣
That and I feel absolutely fine, other than having a saggy neck!

Im pleased to hear you’re healthy! I hope you didn’t mind me mentioning it.

Totally with you about hating seeing myself on Teams. I always look really unhealthy even when I’ve got a tan.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 21/10/2025 20:25

I went through a stage of a saggy wrinkle ridden odd neck, I went through a few mini tubs of the prai cream (didn’t do much), now I just alternate between a retinol and collagen cream morning and evening. I have a buzzy led light device that I use with a vitamin c and a serum at various times during the day (mainly during meetings when my camera is off and I’m muted!). I really began to notice it at about the 4 stone off mark but it seems to have settled down and doesn’t look as bad now. Bear in mind I’m older though so it’s never going to be perfect but it will settle down in time.
Ive heard good things about the ‘gold bond’ cream on Amazon

Onenotsosmallstep · 21/10/2025 20:52

Not the point but the ‘soft focus’ setting in Teams is your friend. Far easier to concentrate on what’s happening in the meeting then!

Fffreeeeezing · 21/10/2025 21:37

Soft focus on Teams now activated!

And retinol and moisturiser will be slathered on tonight and every night going forward, I’m expecting saggy skin on my stomach and thighs and probably my arms too but I refuse to accept my face and neck going south!

FourSeasonsTotalLandscaping · 22/10/2025 07:44

There’s a soft focus setting on Teams?! Game changer!

As of this morning I am officially 4 stone (and 0.2lb) lighter than I was when I started. 🎉

PersilPower · 22/10/2025 07:49

I have a Teams meeting at 9am this morning. Gonna be straight on to that soft focus !!

TragicMuse · 22/10/2025 07:55

I’m also going to be looking at soft focus settings!

Week 34, 10mg

SW 19st 4lbs (Jan 2025, pre-MJ)
SW on MJ 18st 11.5lbs (1 Mar 2025)
CW 14st 4lbs
Loss this week - can’t tell, it’s been up and down!
Total loss 70lbs

Interim GW (set by Nutracheck!) 13st 10lbs

Sound the klaxons!

FIVE STONE! I’VE LOST FIVE STONE!

I feel amazing! I look good!

And I’m 60% to my goal.

Motnight · 22/10/2025 08:06

Well done @TragicMuse

PositiveAttitude · 22/10/2025 08:13

Well done @TragicMuse. 5 stone is amazing!! And all within 10 months!! That's not long at all.

I, too, have a major NSV this morning. My husband said he could really see I have lost weight and was shocked that I am 3 stone 5 lb lighter. When I started this I told him not to say anything until it was really obvious to him. This was because when I was doing slimming world he would sometimes ask how I had done, but it always seemed to be on the week's I had put weight on! 🙄 I then always felt bad having to tell him I had put on weight.
But it is obvious now and I feel so pleased he was so complimentary. (Not that he loved me any less bigger, but he was concerned about my health)

Today I am wearing a "new" top from vinted. I love it but I am going to need to get the wear out of it because it is already feeling on the baggy side. I think I need to be brave and look for the next size down.

Have a good day ladies. 💖

PearlTeapot · 22/10/2025 08:54

I've been living in my new pjs in hospital. Got 3 new pairs of Chelsea Peers since they're all I wear. Size 18s! From 24s. My old ones were literally hanging off me.

Well done on the five stone loss and the four stone loss @TragicMuse and @FourSeasonsTotalLandscaping celebrate today!!
