Thanks for the new thread, I was a regular poster on the first two ….

sw 315lb bmi 51
cw 239lb bmi 39.9
new mini target 230lb for Christmas
start date January 10th

went up to 12.5 jab last week- that has helped this week .

I did go through a period of loosing 1/2lb- 1lb a week which was very disappointing, but over the last few weeks I have managed a good 2lb plus a week which has spurred me on !

SilenceInside · 18/10/2025 12:47

@Lovinglifeand each pen can be turned for 240 clicks (plus a few more for priming each time) before it locks. So with a 5mg pen you could do 30 clicks x 8 for 8 lots of 2.5mg doses, instead of 60 x 4 for 4 lots of 5mg. You’d then be able to do two doses via syringe from the leftover liquid.

But. That would take the pen well past the 30 days expiry once a pen is in use. You’d have to decide if you were happy with the possible risks, and what those risks are.

Week 31 and 3lb off this week bringing me to a tantalisingly close to 6st off- 5st 13!!

Have just taken my 5th dose from my 10mg pen and took 7.5ml which by my reckoning is a 12.5mg dose. I've then got one 10mg pen left in the fridge which I'll use for 4 x 12.5mg doses.

Next mini targets (we'll take it as a given I'll get to the 6st loss so won't include that)

  1. To reach 100lb loss by Christmas
  2. To lose 36lb more to get under 40 BMI

Very well done @Fffreeeeezing. Very close to 50% of the way there too! I started 6 days after you and crossed the half way there last week (just the 6st 5lbs to go 🤦‍♀️) which somehow feels massive, like I’m on the downhill now even though no doubt it’ll slow eventually and this half will take much longer

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 18/10/2025 13:30

Does a pen have only a certain amount of times you can use it?

@Lovinglifeand

According to the manufacturer, yes, you should use it four times only and throw away the 0.8ml which is left. (That's one full dose plus a third of a dose - the famous "golden dose")

According to almost everyone who has to pay for the stuff, you can use it for much longer.

My own view is that if aseptic precautions are observed each time, I'll use the contents of each pen however I choose. But it has to be an individual choice.

I am acutely aware that most people were only ever willing to use the pen as per Eli-Lilly's guidelines - when they started buying MJ.

But when they saw what was being wasted, most of those people started using the surplus in the pens.

And when Eli-Lilly put the prices up, everybody decided to buy higher dose pens and eke them out, to save money.

In a 15mg pen, the 0.8ml left over is 20mg of MJ. That's a whole 5mg pen. Who would throw away a whole 5mg pen?

As some of you know, I finally took the plunge a few weeks ago to 12.5mg after being on 10mg/11mg for around 4 months.
3 weeks of 12.5mg and day 2 I'm starving. I usually inject in thigh.

I have heard that 12.5mg isn't a therapeutic dose, can anyone shed light on that? And why not?

Nervous to move to 15mg so quickly but maybe I should just do it? 4 stone left to lose.

SilenceInside · 18/10/2025 14:49

@mamabeeboo the doses that were studied for long term weight loss in the Eli Lilly trials were the 5, 10 and 15mg doses. All the half doses were just used for 4 weeks as a stepping stone to one of those doses. The results of the trials all look at how much weight was lost for people who stayed on 5, 10 or 15mg once they settled on that dose. That's all it is. 12.5mg is a therapeutic dose, it just doesn't have proven weight loss outcomes from the research trials, that's all. Presumably if it had been studied, the average weight lost by staying on 12.5mg for the trial duration would have been somewhere between that for 10mg and 15mg.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 18/10/2025 14:54

@mamabeeboo have you tried injecting every five days?

Checking in for the new thread, thanks so much @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne

Slight change to my username for this thread just in an attempt to separate my history a bit.

Long story short, I’ve ended up in hospital after a mental health crisis. I’ve been here before and have a fantastic team here but I’m still pretty devastated to be back. Also worried about my food and exercise. I’m hoping just for 30 days.

Also I’m taking 2.5 out of a 5 pen which they’re not going to let me do so I need to order a 2.5. Which is fine just wasteful of the pen I brought here.

Oh goodness, I'm sorry to hear that and I hope you are getting the best care 💓

TragicMuse · 18/10/2025 17:26

Lots of love and healing thoughts @PearlTeapot I hope the troubling time passes soon.

TragicMuse · 18/10/2025 17:31

Today I have a NSV.

I had to return the trousers I bought a couple of weeks ago - the hem came down and although I could have hemmed them I thought ‘why should I?’, especially when they were not cheap.

So I took them back and got another pair. All they had left was a pair in the next size down. So that’s what I got! They’re a little snug and the pockets are not sitting flush, but they’ll be fine in a couple of weeks and will go through the winter longer than the previous pair which would have got too big too quickly.

AND, I was wearing my old denim skirt. Which was perfect! It’s another of the under-the-bed storage bag treasures!

MummyInTheNecropolis · 18/10/2025 18:05

So sorry you’re going through this @PearlTeapot, sending you lots of love and hoping you recover as soon as possible Flowers

eibbed999 · 18/10/2025 18:53

Just bobbing in to send you love and strength, @PearlTeapot xx

JustAnotherSod · 18/10/2025 19:25

Do look after yourself @PearlTeapot - sending best wishes for a smooth recovery xx

PositiveAttitude · 18/10/2025 19:33

Sending you lots of positive thoughts @PearlTeapot
My daughter has had major issues with her mental health and I know it's so draining and just awful to suffer from. So good that you have a good team, and I hope they have you back on your feet and feeling well again soon. 🌷

OvertiredandConfused · 19/10/2025 10:54

After my first week (week 37) on 12.5mg, I’ve lost 5.5lbs! I think that’s my second biggest weekly loss. For context, I didn’t lose anything last week so I’m probably catching up but it’s still quite motivating.

SW - 21st 10lbs
CW - 15st 10.5lbs
Total loss - 5st 13.5lbs

Do hope the suppression calms a little this week and I’m already preparing myself for a small loss or maintain.

Have a good week everyone, and take care @PearlTeapot

EverybodysALebowski · 19/10/2025 11:22

hi all checking in on new thread (and thanks @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne for creating)

thinking of you all, esp @PearlTeapot hope things improve and also @Doggymummar who it sounds from end of old thread you are having a tough go right now.

I'm a bit plateaued right now, especially as have had the awful lurgy that will not go away. While the cough is mostly gone, still everything feels exhausting and struggly, doing very little other than going to work and then resting. I want this to be a slow and steady process, to avoid all the problems that happened last time I dumped a bunch of weight. But would be good to have a little movement downwards. I think I need to add more consistent exercise back in, especially to help with strength and flexibility and such. That's a November goal, when I'm feeling a bit better. In the meantime, I'm super thankful that my knee and back pain is almost completely gone.

While the scale's not moving, have definitely noticed clothing movement, and am glorying in smaller undies, bras, and trousers. Haunting Vinted for a few nice things that will hold me over for a while, and even found my favourite trousers there in a smaller size!

Lds1 · 19/10/2025 13:33

I'd lost 0.5kg of the 1kg that is put on, today I've put on more weight wtf 😒

I did omad yesterday and will do it again today. @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne Do I do it every day, or do I have a day in the week where I eat more as well? Do I do it indefinitely?

I don't know what else to do at this point.

I would play it by ear.

Personally, I tend to do it for four consecutive days, then go back to normal eating. The four days seem to reset my body and restart my weight loss.
