Well done FN. I can’t imagine what being a constant size 10 feels like. I’m just amazed at being a constant size 16 for now. Must be wonderful!
I doubt that many people are just doing the standard 4 doses from their pens now prices have gone mental.

HKG · 21/10/2025 15:30

@FlorenceNightshade wowzers!! That’s huge! Well done!!!

FlorenceNightshade · 21/10/2025 15:33

@Gingercar being a consistent smaller size is a great achievement regardless what the size is! Well done you 😘

Well done, all you beautiful losers!!!

BerfyTigot · 22/10/2025 09:03

Belated birthday wishes to all those who've celebrated recently.

I haven't had much time to read in the last few weeks but one day I'll have a mega mumsnet day and catch up on what's going on in MN land!

Weighed in today and I've lost 0.5kg. Not a huge amount but I've accepted that I'm a slow loser now.

Bad side effects this week 😢
I'm delaying jabbing for a few days as I'm away for the weekend and don't want to be puking. It's really odd because once the side effects have gone, I generally feel better than ever.

Onwards and downwards peeps!

notgonnafail · 22/10/2025 09:09

Been gaining and losing the same 1.5kg since August. Getting fed up. This week was a regain it week. Am around an 8-9kg loss since May 21st, and feel like this is yet another thing I am failing at.

Congrats to all with losses. Hugs to those with gains or no movement, and I'll be picking myself up off the floor, dusting myself down, and trying to work out what's going wrong!

PinkScot · 22/10/2025 09:18

Morning losers! My weigh in today and I have reached my last-but-one milestone, losing three stones. A whopping 1.9 pounds off this week after my all inclusive 0.25 loss. I haven’t done anything different this week just gone back to tracking on my fitness pal and sticking to my 1400 cals but I”l be honest I don’t usually go over 1100 except on my two hungry days.
i have lost consistently every week even when it’s been 1 pound or 0.5 pounds and I think it’s because I’ve never gone over my calories. Consistency really does pay off it’s taken me over 50 years to realise this 😝😝😝.
Ive also had the man flu this week so no exercise I’ve been really yucky.

total loss three stones, I’m actually in disbelief 🫢 also thanks to all of you guys it’s been a massive support to share the journey with such a great group of MJers. 🩷💙🩵💛💜

ElsieJay · 22/10/2025 11:08

Congratulations, @BerfyTigot and @PinkScot , and commiserations to @notgonnafail - YOU ARE NOT GONNA FAIL AT THIS, WE WON’T LET YOU !
Maybe go back to basics , check water intake which is what I’m rubbish at , especially now it’s colder .
Consider upping your dose? Look at your carb intake, make sure they’re complex ones to keep you keeping fuller ?
KOKO !
Apologies, I’m sure you know all this already , hopefully someone out there with better suggestions.

About to do my first 3.75 jab, thanks for all the advice about ekeing out my Last Reasonably Priced Pen, as it was dubbed upthread .

notgonnafail · 22/10/2025 11:31

@ElsieJay don't really need suggestions, though thank you for them!

I'm doing all the right things, they just aren't working - mostly due to stress I think. I've not slept well in months which is making all my usual health conditions flare, am very menopausal too and the hot flushes are not helping! My thyroid meds had been too low for months so we're slowly trying to get them where they should be, and am under a lot of stress while we wait to find out if hubby is going to be made redundant at the end of the year.

I know things will shift again once I can get all of the other stuff to settle down - it just feels frustrating to feel like I've wasted 3mths of money being on MJ to get nowhere!

Gingercar · 22/10/2025 13:12

Yes it’s really frustrating when you’re spending so much. And I feel your hot flush pain, I’m getting a lot of that at the moment. A lot of people seem to get cold on MJ, I was hoping to be one of them, but no! Well done for not falling off the wagon though. Slowly but surely still gets there.

ElsieJay · 22/10/2025 13:19

Oh my goodness , @notgonnafail , I wonder you can stand upright at the minute,
let alone trying to lose weight (( hug )).
But , finances permitting , I suppose sticking with the jabs is the best option - we only fail when we stop trying.

notgonnafail · 22/10/2025 15:05

That's what I keep telling myself @ElsieJay ! Just got to hang in there and hopefully come out the other side eventually. Didn't add that am self employed and currently struggling to find clients at the moment, too, so things are an absolute mess. Would have been so nice if the weightloss was going right, but think that I'm probably lucky to be essentially maintaining my early losses.

Thanks @Gingercar

notgonnafail · 22/10/2025 15:07

oops, posted that before finishing! @Gingercar I do get cold between the flushes, but they are definitely consistent at night, making me massively overheat when I need to rest!

Hope yours aren't driving you too crazy! Who'd be a middle-aged woman, eh?

Gingercar · 22/10/2025 15:37

I’m exactly the same. It’s the minute I get in bed! On the settee I’m cool before going to bed. And I do get cold in my coffee kiosk. I need it the other way round! They had disappeared for a while, but seem back now. And having to set my alarm for 3am to do mum doesn’t seem to help.

FlorenceNightshade · 22/10/2025 15:48

Aww hugs to you @notgonnafail what a thoroughly shitty time you are having!

8-9kg loss is still a loss, I know it’s impossible not to compare yourself to others we all do it but would you have lost that weight without the jabs?

You're trying and that is the opposite of failing! As someone else said keep on keeping on you are amazing for giving it a go given what else is going on!

OP posts:
notgonnafail · 22/10/2025 15:56

@Gingercar The stressbof caring a parent is enough to send hormones awol, let alone having tonget up at 3am when they're trying to settle themselves. As you say, would be so much better if the flushes came at more opportune moments when needed!

@FlorenceNightshade Thanks. We keep on plodding, is all we can do!!

MyScaredCat · 22/10/2025 19:31

Hi all. Hope everyone is well?
1 month off MJ and I’m still at my goal. Had a massive binge last weekend and put 3lb on and it took a full week to lose, but I did it.
gallbladder is now out and I’m recovering. At the min I’d take the gallstones pain over this shoulder pain 😫 Anyone experienced this after keyhole surgery?

Seahorsesplendour · 22/10/2025 19:37

@notgonnafail comiserstion hugs to you!! You really have got a lot going on!! I’ve really noticed the weeks I’m stressed I don’t loose , it really does make a difference so be kind to yourself!!

You’re not failing you’re consistently trying against all odds which in my dictionary is the very opposite of failing ❤️

Well done to those who have lost I’m feeling optimistic that I might have crawled past my set point stagnation but too scared to weigh & see!!

going on hols on Friday so def going to weigh tomorrow so I can know what damage the holiday does!!

im hopeful not too bad as it’s a good active holiday in a hilly place - indeed I’m excited about not feeling like each hill might be my last (not to be dramatic or anything… 🙄) I really struggled there last year but ready to take it all in my stride this year which is exciting as it’s an extended family holiday & I love it!! 🥰

Lovely to hear from you. Glad the surgery went well. What’s the recovery time? Why have you got shoulder pain? And well done on losing the slight gain. That’s the way to do it.

Could I ask what your first niggle about the gallbladder pain was? Just so we can all be aware.

Gingercar · 22/10/2025 20:17

Where are you going @Seahorsesplendour? Hope you have a wonderful time.

MyScaredCat · 22/10/2025 20:20

I should be fully recovered in 6 weeks. It’s very early days. The shoulder pain is apparently from the gas they use to inflate you for keyhole surgery. Will hopeful pass in the next day or 2.
my first sign was an excruciating pain in my right side under my rib cage. I had a few days where I could hardly move. That then stopped and it was a pain in my upper back, like where you’d imagine lungs to cause pain.
i have no trace of MJ left in my system now according to Shotsy app and I can confirm that all the food noise and cravings return 😫
im working very hard to maintain my loss. Definitely wish staying on a low dose was possible, but I just couldn’t do it to myself after the gallbladder issues

Gingercar · 22/10/2025 20:25

Thanks.
My husband had his gall bladder out but he never mentioned shoulder pain, He’s had some much bigger operations since and paracetamol often helps more than morphine. Have you tried that? I hope it settles soon.
It might be harder coping with the food noise, but the success of holding it at bay all by yourself is a great win. You’ve done so well and paid for it hard, so don’t let it slip.

Seahorsesplendour · 22/10/2025 22:11

New Quay Wales!

spent every October half term as a kid in Wales & love that we still do it! Only difference is me & siblings cook now instead of my mom & our offspring cause the chaos instead of us!! 🤣
